Shunsui Kyoraku x Reader - Jealousy

Shunsui Kyoraku is an amazing boyfriend, he's so sweet and caring, when you're down he listens to you ranting about your day and what went wrong. He reassures you when you feel you're not doing enough and when you need pampering he's ready with open arms. But he too has flaws, or rather just one big flaw…

as soon as he sees a woman, even if she is talking to you, he shifts his eyes to her, even if only briefly and this makes you insecure. Shift attention because you're not beautiful enough? You wonder every time as you watch him scan the woman who just walked by.

knowing his love for women, you are quite concerned that he will have to spend time with one of his exes: Nami, a beautiful woman with whom he had a relationship ended on good terms, also the relationship recently ended (she was the his girlfriend before you two dated).

he has to spend time with her on a job for Seritei, so you certainly couldn't ask him not to, but you couldn't help but feel a feeling of jealousy and fear whenever you remembered those two being together. Not to mention that this week you two haven't had time to be together, he was too tired from work for a date just the two of you and went straight to sleep. By now you were having lunch and dinner alone, and to think that those two still have to do another few weeks of work!

once you decided to surprise him at work, bringing him a lunch so that you could eat together, and what did he do? He took lunch for two, thanked you for bringing it to him and Nami, and returned to lock himself in the room with her. You were absolutely dumbfounded, you stared at the door for a few seconds in disbelief, after a few minutes you left with a broken heart.

you replayed in your head that episode over and over, how could he do such a thing? Didn't he miss you even a little bit? Shunsui was never the type to get too busy with work, if anything he was the one to avoid him, so the only possible option was that he's too busy with Nami to consider you.

maybe it was jealousy talking but maybe he's never been over his ex, maybe his feelings were rekindled when he spent time with her. You don't know, they are just your theories, and you are rationally aware that maybe they are all fantasies of your mind but on the other hand, you can't help but think that these theories correspond to the reality of the facts.

now you are sitting on the sofa with a glass of sake in your hand, slightly drunk, waiting for the return of your beloved. Maybe it's sake that suddenly made you brave but you have a desire to confront him about this situation, it doesn't matter if he's tired, you need to tell him how you feel.

as soon as you hear the door open, you make a feline snap (rather acrobatic for someone who is drunk), you put the glass on the table and you approach Shunsui who looks at you in surprise, he didn't expect you to still be awake at this hour and neither that you were drunk (he smells alcohol)

" Shut up " you cut him off abruptly, then point at him with your finger visibly angry " You…You ignored me, why? Why do you have to spend time with her? Why would you rather be with her than me? You do not love me? Or rather you never loved me?"

"My love, you know I've been busy. It was never my intention to ignore you, soon my work with Nami will end" he replies with one of those sly smiles as he places both of his hands on your hips. "I've just been busy with work, I don't feel anything for her"

you automatically slapped him on the right cheek, taking him by surprise. In reality, you too are surprised by the gesture, but your anger exploded with his answer, busy for work? When have you ever been busy with work? Nanano always had to take him away from home to force him to work, and in any case he managed not to do all the necessary work.

" Don't bullshit me, I know when you lie. Have you always hated work, always tried to get rid of it and now you're telling me you've automatically become a hard worker? Do you really think I'm stupid, huh? you don't even give him time to reply to this, you leave the house leaving him there with wide eyes unable to move. You don't have your own place to stay because you live or maybe it would be better to say you lived with Shunsui, so you went to sleep at a friend's house. It hasn't been easy at all, you still love him but you can't stand another day wondering if he still has feelings or buying his shit. Rationally you know this was the best choice but you can't help but feel so much sadness in your heart.
