A really interesting thing about the current situation in foreach is that all the protagonists of the comic have nominally achieved their desires at the beggining of the comic.
Coral no longer has her dad controlling her life, jiro found a no nonesense friend that actually understand him and sees him for who he is, nix escaped hell fuck, cliff is living the peaceful family life with a baby.
And yet
None of them seem satisfied with this.
Maybe because a lot of time when you get out of a bad situation you come to realize the problem was inside of you all along, or like the bastard said

i decided to experiment by doing a genre swap AU version of @lumsketch comic Foreach, what if each of the characters was in the world of another of the characters?
jasper would be a terrible shooter protagonist, the poor kid is just not made for it at all, jiro i feel would be happy to just be out of the island so i think personally is that one who is getting off the easiest. the angel would probably hate jiro's island too, hers was the most fun design to retool because it gave me the chance to turn her into an anime waifu. and cliff is probably the most tragic figure of the bunch, i decided to make his situation as a soldier trapped behind enemy lines in a forever war a little more literal by giving him a weapon which is his literal ball and chain

Space and depth is super important in creating a game that is expansive and interesting. Breath of The Wild makes fantastic use of this in its open world game. The game wants to make you seem small in comparison to the world around you which this screenshot is a great example. This has an interesting use of foreground, middle ground, background while the character (Link) is in the foreground, he is still very small. In the middle ground there is a big forest and the background shows mountains that the player can later explore. Another noticeable thing about the background is that it has atmospheric perspective which means that things in the background like mountains are blue and less saturated. The screenshot also conveys space by having Link and the cliff he is standing on overlap the forest in front of him. Overall this is shows exactly how to use space and depth to create an immersive game.
Glossary
Atmospheric Perspective
Value contrast and color saturation decrease with distance. Brightness increases as objects fade further into the background. In addition, objects such as mountains may appear more blue.
Diagonal Shapes
Diagonal shapes pull the eye in a direction to create the illusion of depth. If the diagonal is going back like a railroad track or fence-line the eye will follow it into the perceived distance.
Elliptical Perspective
An ellipse is an oval shape. Elliptical perspective provides visual clues to the location of curved surfaces in space. Look straight down on a glass of water. The rim of the glass is a circle. Move the glass to the side, the rim now appears as an ellipse. Line up the rim at your exact eye level, the ellipse now appears as a straight line.
Foreground, Middle ground, & Background
The 3 treatments of objects in space support design to achieve depth. This template for placing and sizing objects in the picture plane shows variations on the foreground, middle ground, background configurations.
Foreshortening
Foreshortening is when an object's dimensions appear shorter when angled toward the viewer. At the same time the part coming toward the viewer is enlarged.
Linear Perspective
Linear Perspective is a system used by artists in which the relative size, shape, and position of objects are determined by drawn or imagined lines converging at a point on the horizon.
Overlapping
Overlap is when part of one object is obscured by another object. The obscuring object appears to be in front.
S-Curve or Winding Path
In an image of a landscape, S-curve or winding path will draw the eye of the viewer into a perceived distance.
Size relationships
Objects appear smaller as their distance from the observer increases.
Transparency or Opacity
Transparency or opacity is when we feel like we can see objects through a glassy, gauzy, smoky, or dusty layer. The transparent/opacity adjustment affects the saturation and color of objects to give a feel of depth.
Vertical Position
Vertical position places objects higher up in the composition to appear further away.
Volume
Volume is the amount, expanse, extent, magnitude, size, aggregate, bulk, dimensions, or mass of an object. The volume variable indicates the amount of territory needed foreach object in a scene.

Villainify: Sunny Foreach
let me paint you a scene:
everything is in flames, everything is crumbling, all is about to end.
jiro is lost in a pit of depression and borderline comatose, nix is lost to bloodlust and is going around murdering anyone she comes across, cliff is full on shell shock, all the realities are collapsing on themselves. jasper is dragging themselves through the ground, crawling with one hand while the other is grasping, reaching desperatly to their one hope. sunny. sunny holds the key to everything, sunny could be the one that could save it all. jasper makes one last desperate please, sunny, they need help, you are our last hope, save us sunny.
and she turns her back and says "nah, i gotta work tomorrow" and she just leaves
