Another thing I love about whalefall is how like..... it's a kind of Religious text but if i said that to someone they go oh is it like christian? what religion is it and then I'd have to go no you dont get it its Religious but in the most ambiguous way possible. The main character is friends with a Jewish dentist who carries around a copy of the Quran in his pocket and sometimes attends a Christian church but calls the new testament the "new testicle." Whales are compared to god and or angels more times than any religious figure is mentioned. if you put a gun to my head and asked me what religion daniel kraus follows i would be dying then and there

That Church of Whalefall animation made me think of Yames' Water Womb World game. That whole episode of Mark's 3 scary games is still one of my favorites.

Reminder to wreck Josh with it at some point. He's more terrified of the ocean than Mark is, to the point where he freaked out during the underwater sections of the original Tomb Raider games.

5. How easy is it to earn their mistrust? honestly it’s way harder to get pat to Distrust you than it is to get her to Trust you... otherwise she would’ve stopped trusting the church a long time ago

7. What triggers nostalgia for them, most often? Do they enjoy that feeling? Probably just seeing orphan kids playing w/ each other at the orphanage where she grew up... it’s a little bittersweet for her bc everything was so much easier when she was a kid but she’s glad she can help give back to the community now that she’s grown

9. Do they swear? Do they remember their first swear word? pat is legally not allowed to say fuck. she probably says spongebob swears instead

11. How do they cope with confusion (seek clarification, pretend they understand, etc)? question-asking has been trained out of her by now. Comet probably remembers a time when Pat was an inquisitive and curious kid but over the years she’s learned that she doesn’t get very far by asking questions bc it just made the grown-ups upset and she really doesn’t want that

15. How do they speak? Is what they say usually thought of on the spot, or do they rehearse it in their mind first? Pat’s definitely a rehearser + really has to think about stuff before she says it. she does not want to get in trouble ever

18. What embarrasses them? pat is a pretty serious & modest person so , basically everything

28. Would they prefer a lie over an unpleasant truth? as much as she would not like to admit it: probably!

30. Who do they most regret meeting? uhhhhhhhhh i don’t know if Regret is the word because i think her opinion evolves over time but i don’t think she has a great time with all of the consequences of meeting marin (and consequently meeting Comet and the rest of the crew etc etc) at first

31. Who are they the most glad to have met? her answer would probably be Mercy but like . the real answer is Comet

35. How do they treat the things their friends come to them excited about? Are they supportive? she’s usually very supportive of the stuff her friends are excited abt! even if it’s kind of against the church it’s usually better to play nice and slowly convince them out of it later

A) Why are you excited about this character? IM JUST EXCITED TO HAVE FISH OCS FOR REAL... AND I JUST REALLY LIKE AND AM EXCITED FOR HOW WHALEFALL IS GOING SO FAR IN GENERAL ,,, but for pat ,,, specifically ,,, i just think shes neat

1. What’s the maximum amount of time your character can sit still with nothing to do? Not a lot of time really jkhsdf he gets bored easily when not immediately occupied with a task and will probably try to get up to some shit if he’s left bored and unattended

4. How easy is it to earn their trust? Pretty easy but not in a brainwashed way he’s just friendly sdkjlhfdf

8. What were they told to stop/start doing most often as a child? I don’t think he had any specific bullshit he’d repeatedly get up to as a kid but im sure there his parents had to stop him from doing a Lot of stupid bullshit as a kid. just a wide variety of shenanigans and hijinks he got up to

11. How do they cope with confusion (seek clarification, pretend they understand, etc)? Most of the time he doesn’t pretend to get stuff he doesn’t understand, but he just kind of . moves on. he knows he doesn’t get it and doesn’t put on any pretense that he does. but he doesn’t care

14. What animal do they fear most? HE REALLY DOESNT LIKE TINY BUGS A SMALL CRAB IN HIS ROOM IS LIKE. THE EQUIVALENT TO A SPIDER TO OTHER PEOPLE HE CANNOT FUNCTION UNTIL THE CRITTER IS REMOVED OR SQUISHED

15. How do they speak? Is what they say usually thought of on the spot, or do they rehearse it in their mind first? He usually just says whatever he’s thinking on the spot. he is not a particularly bright man and does not often think through the things he says

27. What causes them to feel dread? well his house collapsed so probably that

32. Do they have a go-to story in conversation? Or a joke? Definitely just not one thing. he knows better than to have Just One Story or Just One Joke. But probably his go-to topic is like, whatever happened during his shift at The Hook-Up since he’s a bouncer and there are no shortage of weird and dumb people you run into as a bouncer. he probably has a new “one time this guy did .____ and had to be kicked out” or “this kid handed me a really obviously fake id and their excuse was ____”-style story every other day. the best of the best get cycled into a rotation he tells to new people he meets but he seems to have an endless reserve of them

41. How do they feel about children? he’s really good with kids and really likes them jkhsdf i don’t think he’s ever thought about having of his own but he’s definitely a Cool Older CousinUncleBrotherEtc kind of guy

I didn’t draw my deep sea Zoras for a quite long time

There were a few darker details I was thinking about and I thought I was going to draw them .

…the first time they saw a diver and didn’t know what it is or that someone is inside the suit and they just open it up and…you know what happens (i know divers wouldn’t be able to go that deep but this is just hyrule logic )

…if a deep sea Zora gets washed ashore it means nothing good…
