The lovely @cryingatships tagged me in this little game in April, so five months ago as well, thank you for thinking of me and for being patient for my answers!

3 ships you like: This is hard already. All the series I'm watching these days are about found families, so I don't really get into shipping if there's no need for a romance in the story. That said, based on the media I've consumed this year, three ships I like are: Katniss and Peeta (they complement each other so well and their story is very well told), Loid Forger and Yor Briar (i know it's technically a marriage of convenience for both parties, but they would make such a perfect duo and they're already great parents, too), and I guess all the TayNew ones, since I'm still obsessed (give me a PeteKao and a KaranAchi, but also give Tay and New other romcom series because their chemistry is perfect please and thank you).

first ship ever: it will have to be the incredibly toxic Marco/Eva from classic Roman fictional series I Cesaroni. You just have to eat that shit up when you're a tween, to be honest.

last song you heard: I've just finished listening to the album Humanoid by Tokio Hotel.

favorite childhood book: As a child I used to read a lot of Angelo Petrosino's Valentina series, and obviously Geronimo Stilton, but I can't remember what my favourite book was. As a tween, though, I remember two of my favourite books were: Una Cotta alla Vaniglia (original title: Cool, cooler, sechzehn!) by Thomas Brinx and Anja Kömmerling; and Occhio al Professore (original title: Achtung!!! Vranek sieht ganz harmlos aus!) by Christine Nöstlinger. I still have them around, maybe I should reread them to see if they stand the test of time. I will have to mention Oscar Wilde's short stories as well, like Miu did before me, though, for something in English.

currently reading: I'm trying to finish Paul McCartney's The Lyrics before the end of the year, but i'm also reading the manga Suzume.

currently watching: Peaceful Property on Wednesdays, Only Murders in the Building on Tuesdays, and I'm rewatching the first season of CBS Ghosts with my mum.

Star Wars - I used to be obsessed before The Rise of Skywalker. After a long period of depression resulting from that particular film, I don’t engage much anymore. But I love supporting all the Reylo fanfics getting published! You’d be amazed by the amount of popular romance novels that are secretly Reylo. Ships: Reylo, Han x Leia, Jyn Erso x Cassian Andor.

The Hunger Games - I cannot wait for TBOSAS. Ship: Katniss x Peeta.

Pride and Prejudice - Yes, it’s me, Depression Barbie! I love this story in all its forms. 😂 Ships: Elizabeth x Mr. Darcy, Jane x Mr. Bingley.

Sailor Moon - My childhood gateway into anime! Ships: Usagi x Mamoru, Usagi x Seiya, Haruka x Michiru

Disney/Pixar - favorites are Beauty and the Beast, Up, and Coco. I have been to Disney World many times but stopped bc I don’t like how much the company is nickle and diming guests. The value just isn’t there anymore. My husband I were actually supposed to go to Tokyo Disney in April 2020. Needless to say, that, uh, didn’t work out. 😑

The horrid way they treat Valancy not allowing her to read when she wants, to be able to choose her own books, to be able to choose what she wants to eat, yet making her eat food they want -I understand sugar was expensive (my grandmother told she was born around that time) but dang an extra sprinkle wouldn't have broken the budget. They act as if she is their intellectual property - delighting in her dismay.

I wasn't going to do this but she said "Nobody needs me" I just can't help but compare her to Peeta. I wonder if this is what it was like for him before he won The Hunger Games. If it was no wonder Peeta considered getting reaped the best day of his life.

I digress.

They delight in making her feel downtrodden. They control when she gets out, they blame her for getting sick, with several colds. It's mind-boggling to see how manipulative they are. Valancy tried to state her agency by asking for her family to call her by her given name. And she is thinking of herself as Valancy.

And beginning with her own mother, they (the Clan) turn around and begin to call her a child and point out that her behavior is childish, i.e. not eating her crusts. By the end of that conversation, you see Valancy begin to label and call herself a child and her behavior as childish. This reminds me of the way Queen Victoria was raised. Right up to the day Vicotria was proclaimed Queen, she had no voice or choice. All of her life was dictated by the rules set forth by her mother and her mother's "friend," John Conroy. I'm going to start calling the Clan, the Conroys instead of the Sterlings.

Can you imagine having to write down every single moment that they considered her to be idyl? I want to rescue her and give her a hug! That girl is starved for affection.

First impression: oh so this is one of those characters thats specifically catered to my interests huh. Cool.

Impression now: Yeah of course she is my favourite. No surprises here. I have a type.

Favorite moment: ... that moment in the final episodes where the camera zoomed into her missing finger, the deadlines on her calendar, her meds and brett immediately went from telling her how sad he would be if she left the company to pretending that he wasnt sad at all because he knows how much she is suffering here and he only wants the best for her. Even if it means never seeing her again. Also EVERYTHING about Appleton tbh. God. Also that time she kicked her dad out of her house??? Queen.

Idea for a story: haven't had any concrete story ideas about my girl reagan sadly 😔 i should get around to reading some inside job fanfics, get some inspo.

Unpopular opinion: nothing comes to mind really. I haven't interacted a lot with the inside job fandom to know their popular and unpopular opinions tbh.

Favorite relationship: god.... Bret and reagan besties 4ever. Also! I was shocked by how much i liked her relationship with ron?? I usually hate it when my fave characters get a love interest half way through a show. Like HATE IT hate it. But honestly when they first started dating i couldn't help but wonder HOW she was going to fuck it up. Like this is Reagan we are talking about, she cant be happy for more than a few episodes in a row so i was hooked waiting for their relationship to fall apart somehow and holy shit????? Their ending was literally so much better than everything i could have ever imagined??? I was sobbing my eyes out god bless.

Favorite headcanon: this woman is bi sorry i don't make the rules. But honestly i feel like i don't have a lot of headcanons about her sadly.

Christine Daae 🎵

First impression: just an average girl character from a century old book. Nothing too wild.

Impression now: oh this girlie is INSANE insane. Ive seen it. I enjoy it. Impressive case of daddy issues. Beautifully kind and determined. She wasn't even in love with the phantom my girl thought she was being visited by the angels sent by her dead father. Good for her. Honestly the phantom is WAY closer to what i usually consider My Type when it comes to fictional characters when compared to Christine. My love for her completely blindsided me, she was one of those characters i didn't expect to be my faves.

Favourite moment: "wishing you were somehow here again" for the musical and everything about her insane "talking with the weird gremlin man who lives in my walls and pretending he is an angel" era for the book. Also the cemetery scene in the book? My girl is delusional.

Idea for a story: none tbh. I haven't read this book in years im not as obsessed with her as i was back then but she still holds a special place in my heart.

Unpopular opinion: idk i never had a strong opinion on the whole phantom - christine - raoul love triangle thing and i feel like the people fighting over this are a little insane skksks. Like. I don't think she ever fully loved erik even tho she sympathized with him? Also fighting over who Christine should choose reminds me of the people who used to fight over who katniss from the hunger games would choose. Like peeta is Katniss' chance to heal while gale is still at war and raoul is the light while erik is the night!! Of course she chose raoul in the end like cmon. Now, that doesn't mean that i can't appreciate the fucked up insane relationship between a basement dwelling sewer man who kills people just because and a grief stricken woman who searches for divinity in everything that surrounds her.

Favourite relationship: probably erik and christine solely for the fucked up factor. Also her relationship with her father even tho he is dead before the book starts and we barely know anything about him. Its pretty obvious that his death affects her a lot.

Favourite headcanon: cant really think of anything tbh. Once again its been a while since i last read this book. But also i feel very strongly about this woman being a brunette for no particular reason.

"shipping is the thing most of us hate and a small part of us love, for some ungodly reason" caught me so off guard, i know that i'm guilty of, when i do like a ship, being capable of focusing on the ship instead of the story itself, but i never knew people would actually not ever think "i hope katniss chooses peeta because he represents choosing humanity and that's what I want for her" or anything like that, i'm so shocked like, usually a romance in a story is a conclusion of a character arc or a it shows a theme or a lesson, i thought most people would be interested in what the story is trying to say even through the romantic lenses ?

or does he mean only when people are really into it because still, I always thought most people would fall into "shippers" than into "shipping is a thing most of us hate"
