Why do you want to be a steel furniture distributor?
Work and home spaces are the most important activity areas for everyone, and furniture is indispensable. Wooden furniture is the earliest, wood is relatively easy to obtain, easy to make a lot of shapes, and now it is loved by many people. Steel furniture began to rise in the United States in the 1920s. After decades of development, steel furniture has the advantages of less harmful substances, environmental protection, durability, and moderate price, and has gradually been favored by many governments and enterprises. The purchase volume of steel furniture is currently in a dominant position in developed countries such as the United States, Europe, and Japan. In modern society, people's philosophy of life has undergone many changes, and they have begun to realize that environmental protection and health are the most important. When it comes to formaldehyde, it has become a health hazard. We can't avoid it, modern furniture will use it. We choose steel furniture because it is zero formaldehyde. Therefore, the steel home furniture series is deeply loved by people and has become a new trend of furniture.
Steel furniture has the characteristics of environmental protection and energy saving. The innovation of manufacturing technology and the combination of various materials have also made more changes in the appearance and function of the furniture. Steel furniture is made of cold-rolled steel plate as the main raw material. It is made of locks, slide rails, handles and other spare parts through processes such as cutting, punching, folding, welding, pre-treatment, spraying, and assembly of accessories. Collectively referred to as steel furniture. According to the combination of cold-rolled steel plates and different materials, it can be divided into steel-wood furniture, steel-plastic furniture, steel-glass furniture, etc.; according to the different uses of furniture, it can be divided into steel office furniture and steel home furniture. Its varieties mainly include several categories: safes, gun safes, safe deposit boxes and other insurance series; filing cabinets, file cabinets, lockers, article storage cabinets, safe cabinets and other cabinet series; Household storage racks and other rack series, bunk beds, single beds, apartment beds and other bed series, desks, computer desks, study chairs and other office chair series, school desks and chairs, row chairs and other school furniture series. The categories of steel furniture are gradually increasing, and the places of application are becoming more and more extensive.
Green environmental protection is a problem faced by people all over the world, and it is also a concept advocated by the international community in the 21st century. As consumers, people's awareness of environmental protection needs to be strengthened, and steel furniture companies also need a greater investment in environmental protection when producing. We know that it is an irreversible trend of the times for steel furniture to replace most wooden furniture. This is because wooden furniture consumes a lot of forest resources and causes damage to the natural environment. With the strengthening of people's awareness of environmental protection, many countries prohibit or restrict the logging of forests, and the main raw materials for wooden furniture are becoming increasingly scarce, forcing people to strengthen research on the utilization of wood raw materials. , wood slag, etc. are made into new wood raw materials through the bonding of various chemicals, but this has increased people's concerns about whether it is environmentally friendly, especially in order to reduce costs, many manufacturers use chemical adhesives that do not meet environmental protection , causing damage to people's respiratory system, does not conform to the concept of people's pursuit of a healthy life.
The concept of green environmental protection is a concept pursued by modern people. Only when the concept of green is integrated into the design and production of furniture, can the products be deeply loved by consumers. How to realize the green production of office furniture? This requires mentioning two aspects: first, in terms of material selection, people used to prefer wood office furniture, which resulted in the deforestation of a large number of forests and damage to the environment. Metal steel perfectly replaces traditional wood. The second is in product design, product accessories give priority to the selection of environmentally friendly, degradable and recyclable materials.

Maurice is a minimal furniture series created by China-based designer TELLS STUDIO. Tells Studio has deconstructed traditional chair elements, replacing them with an ingenious structural design of their own. The chair features a base of black solid wood, reminiscent of volcanic rock, intricately connected in a three-dimensional lattice by visible and invisible stainless steel lines.

Bi-Han’s IKEA Adventure
Pairing: Bi-Han x gender neutral!reader
Rating: Teen Plus? Mature? (suggestive themes and lots of swears, no smut)
Summary: You and Bi-Han go to IKEA to replace a broken desk, unfortunately for you, you get lost and have to wait for Sub-Zero to rescue you.
Author Notes: “qīn” is Mandarin for bae/babe and is my stand in for “y/n”, you don’t have to read it but you’ll notice little things if you’ve read Earning Your Keep. Gouta is my name I made up for Cyrax it means golden. This one is dumb and silly but I spent too much time watching videos of walkthroughs of the IKEA in Harbin so hopefully it matches up. I haven’t been to an IKEA in quite sometime so please enjoy it with a grain of salt lol. As always please like, comment and reblog if you enjoyed it. Hope you lovelies enjoy!
“We get in, we get out, no getting distracted by kitchenwares or baby shit you understand me qīn? We’re here for a new desk for my study, nothing else,” Bi-Han grips your shoulders and goes through his game plan with the calculated precision that came from years of being the Lin Kuei’s Grandmaster.
“New desk and baby shit, got it,” you reply your eyes sparkling with mischief.
“No. No! No baby shit, just a desk!” He repeats sternly, his brows furrowing into an unpleasant grimace.
“Ok, ok,” you wave him off and shrug out of his grip to grab a trolly and bag to attach to it, “to carry the desk,” you cut him off before the cryomancer can question you.
“Ok, good. Let’s do this,” he takes a deep breath and an employee gives him an odd look as the air around him condenses and little snowflakes fall from his exhalation.
Bi-Han did not like IKEA, a fact you were well aware of but being in remote China left you with few choices when it came to getting new furniture. Your options were to wait months for a master craftsman to carve a new desk for Bi-Han or as you suggested make the pilgrimage to the IKEA in Harbin. The cryomancer reluctantly chose the latter as it was nearly impossible to go through all of his paperwork in just a chair. You just hoped whatever you found at the store was sturdier than his old desk which could not withstand the Grandmaster’s might, you bit your bottom lip as you thought back to the events that broke the desk in the first place. The force and might he had taken you on the seemingly sturdy wooden desk passed down for generations had been no match for Bi-Han’s vigor.
“Qīn, qīn, hello? Are you even paying attention? You’re blocking the walkway,” Bi-Han frowns and wrestles the trolly away from you.
You flush as you come back to the present, “s-sorry I was thinking about something else.” The dull ache between your legs reminds of the way he had held you down, the way he had thrust into you so deeply, the way he absolutely claimed you as his own. You lick your lips subconsciously and trot after the cryomancer as the two of you wind through the immaculately decorated faux rooms.
Bi-Han stops once you reach a room that looks like it has a suitable steel framed desk, “u-utespel-utespelare? Who the fuck came up with this shit?” The cryomancer asks no one in particular as he pulls out his smartphone to snap a picture of that tag. “What do you think about this one qīn?” He asks leaning on the desk to see if it was capable of holding his weight.
“Do you want the Hemler too?” You ask gesturing to the matching chair, chuckling at the cryomancer’s inability to pronounce the Swedish designs.
Bi-Han raises an eyebrow as he smirks, “did we break the chair too?” He asks teasingly, snaking an arm around your waist and dropping a chilly kiss against the nape of your neck.
You shiver from the cold, “first of all, there was no we, you, you broke the desk, you pounded into me so hard I still ache,” you spin around to accuse him. “Your father is probably spinning in his grave, that was an antique passed down for generations,” you continue as start looking at the desk nicknacks and other tchotchkes.
“Let him spin, he deserves no peace,” Bi-Han snarls and throws a plush polar bear into the bag. He lets out a frustrated growl as he remembers the other reason he agreed to go to this cursed store, “fuck me, we need more cups. Tomas was tinkering around with his grenades again and blew up one of the cupboards in the kitchen.”
You blink at him, unfazed at his sudden aggression brought on by the mention of his father, “is that what that noise was? I thought it was Gouta fucking one of the maids in the kitchen again.”
Bi-Han narrows his icy eyes, “no, he got in deep shit for that, he knows better than to try that again.”
“You’re awfully hypocritical for someone who fucks their lover on any surface they can,” you counter throwing a stuffed dinosaur into the bright yellow bag.
“First of all, I’m the Grandmaster, I can do whatever the fuck I want, where ever the fuck I want. Second of all, I don’t want to eat jizz,” he scowls at the idea.
You burst into laughter before shushing him, “keep it down polar bear, you’re scaring the employees.” You chastise as you receive a bewildered expression from one of the IKEA staff members.
He rolls his eyes, “even if they speak English, I doubt they understand the word jizz qīn, this is still China, or did you forget?”
You sigh, hating it when he was right, “we’re not accomplishing anything, why don’t you go to the warehouse and get your utespelare and I’ll go to the kitchenwares section and pick out replacements for Tomas’ accident.”
“I don’t like the idea of leaving you in this store unsupervised, you’ll spend the entire treasury,” the cryomancer grumbles.
You swat at his well-defined pecs, “so what if I do, you’re a thief, just steal more.”
“I’m not a petty thief, I’m a highly skilled, trained professional,” Bi-Han sulks as you reach the escalators to take you up to the kitchenwares and further on up to the warehouse.
“Shit,” you sigh as you pull out your phone only to realize it’s dead. “Ok look Polar Bear my phone is dead but I’ll meet you at the cafe in 20 minutes ok?”
“I’m not eating their shitty meatballs or fucking lingonberries,” Bi-Han states making a disgusted face.
You shake your head and laugh, “no meatballs or lingonberries I promise, we just need somewhere to rendezvous.” You stand on your tip toes to press a kiss to his cheek as you take the trolly back from him, “I need it more than you do. You’re big and strong and can carry the desk easily.”
“Cafe, 20 mins,” Bi-Han confirms as he steps onto the escalator to head to the warehouse. Bi-Han easily locates his utespelare and checks out with relative ease before settling down to wait in the cafe.
You wander through the kitchenware section buying more than just the cups you needed, you couldn’t help it though, everything at the Lin Kuei Temple was so old. You were honestly shocked that they had electricity and silently thanked Papa Zero for seeing the value in modernizing and improving the living conditions. You enjoyed cooking even though there were maids at the temple to take care of everyday needs. You grab a new sauté pan and a couple of cute hot mitts before finally filling the cart with nonbreakable mugs and regular drinking cups. Without your phone you don’t realize how long has passed and continue to browse for goods you had no need for, “hmmm do we need a cactus? Probably not, Bi-Han would probably freeze it,” you mumble to yourself as you browse the houseplants. Eventually, you find yourself completely turned around and lost somewhere in between the throw pillows and lighting fixtures getting distracted by star-shaped lamps.
You look around and hunt for an employee to ask your way but can’t seem to find anyone, you look down to try and follow the tape arrows on the floor but much to your dismay there were none to be found. You try to trace your way back through the nonstop isles of displays but in the endless sea of rosenkärm, there appeared to be no exit in sight. “Heh heh heh shit,” you hiss under your breath.
30 minutes had gone past and Bi-Han was still waiting alone in the cafe, he checked his phone before belatedly realizing yours was dead and you probably were unaware how much time had actually passed so he decided to give you a few more minutes. He sighed and waited impatiently, 15 more minutes passed and still no sign of you, he hefted the heavy desk onto his shoulders before approaching one of the ideal cashiers. “I’ve lost my partner can you please page them for me,” Bi-Han reluctantly asks the employee in Chinese. “Their name is y/n but their Chinese isn’t very good, is it possible to page them in English?” He flashes the cashier his best convincing smile.
You freeze when you hear the page come over the loudspeaker and groan, “I know where you are Bi-Han, I don’t know where I am!” You let out a frustrated grunt and punch a pillow next to you before making an arbitrary left at the canning supplies. You’re led into a maze of bedding and start to feel anxious and overwhelmed, your breath quickens and your eyes dart around frantically searching for anyone. You still can’t find an employee but do manage to see a nice-looking couple so you approach them and in your broken Chinese make a gesture for going up an escalator, “zì-zìdòng f-fútī?”
They give you a bewildered look and exchange a few words and glances before gesturing behind you. You give them a hurried thanks before rushing off in the direction they pointed you to but much to your dismay you found yourself back in the kitchenwares. “You have got to be kidding me,” you sigh and try and think how you got to the kitchenwares the first time around so you could work your way back to the escalator.
Bi-Han paces back and forth by the registers growing more and more concerned, “can I leave this with you?” He asks the cashier and gestures to his utespelare. The poor cornered cashier nod’s reluctantly as Bi-Han sets the heavy desk down and begins his hunt for you. It takes a while for a Bi-Han to get back to the entrance what with IKEA being a veritable maze he decided the fastest way was to exit the store and go back to the original entrance. He shoulders past the casual families gawking and lounging around the faux living rooms set on his rescue mission.
You decide to stay where you were for the moment, not wanting to get more lost than you already were. “Sooner or later he’ll come find me,” you reassure yourself, you absently fiddle with a ladle that resembles a brontosaurus before shrugging and throwing it in the bag attached to the trolly. “I wonder if we need anything else,” you think out loud as you continue to peruse the myriad of utensils.
Bi-Han weaves in and out of the fellow patrons until he comes across the escalators, he prompts goes up one floor, and locates the directory. It doesn’t take him long to locate kitchenwares on the vertical post as he makes his way through the confusing aisles of condiments and pantry staples. Having been raised to be a master of the deadly arts Bi-Han would have been able to track you easily if you weren’t in a giant furniture store. If you were in the forest he could look for footprints or broken branches but since he was in an IKEA he kept his eyes focused on anything that might have caught your attention.
You look around the aisle more as you feel a dip in the temperature, at first you assume it’s the air conditioning but soon you’re able to see the tall cryomancer standing well above the other patrons. “Bi-Han!” You call out excitedly and start waving like a crazy person. You stay put though terrified you’ll somehow get lost between here and the ten feet away he is, and in your defense, there were an awful lot of home goods in the way.
His long strides quickly close the gap and his strong cold hands grip your shoulders, “qīn! You’re still looking at kitchenwares?! Do you know how long it’s been? How worried I’ve been?” Bi-Han berates you before getting worked up and going on a tangent in his native tongue.
From what you can tell he’s feeling a mixture of disappointment, relief, and annoyance. You can’t help but burst into tears and cling to him, “I got lost! I haven’t been here the whole time I’ve been adrift in a sea of fucking interior design! How many sheepskin rugs does this country need?!” You feel silly for crying and clinging to Bi-Han in public like this but it was a rarity the two of you got to be a normal couple and you had been an anxious mess since you got disoriented. You sniffle and try not to make too much of a mess of the cryomancer’s shirt.
Bi-Han holds you at arm’s length, blinks a few times as if he was dumbfounded, “you got lost? How? Qīn, there are signs everywhere…” The cryomancer gestures to one of the structural columns with signs posted on them.
You look at him incredulously, “it’s in Chinese! I don’t know how to read escalator! I can barely remember the word for it! I managed to ask a couple but ended up back in the damn kitchenware section.” You huff at him before stomping a foot in protest.
“I uh, huh. I guess they are,” he replies sheepishly, color creeping onto the cryomancer’s cheeks as he adverts his eyes. Bi-Han grabs your hand and the trolly and steers you back to the escalator. “I’m not letting go of you ever, I’m going to get one of those animal backpacks with the leashes for you I swear,” he grumbles as the two of you make your way to the registers. Bi-Han starts unpacking the bag and starts looking through all the unnecessary things you added, he sighs and shakes his head but doesn’t say anything deciding you had been through enough for the day. He keeps his hand wrapped around yours the whole time earning yet another bewildered gaze from the traumatized cashier Bi-Han had been chatting up earlier.
You giggle as the cryomancer refuses to let go of your hand thinking that maybe getting lost in IKEA wasn’t the worst way to spend the weekend. You can’t help but admire the way his biceps bulge and flex as he puts the goods back in the bag after getting the receipt. “Where’s the desk,” you ask him looking around as you two head towards the exit.
“Fuck. Don’t move,” he orders as he reluctantly lets go of your hand and goes back to the poor cashier to retrieve the whole reason they made this trip in the first place. The two of you make it back to the car before Bi-Han opens the door and buckles you in before loading up the back of the car with your purchases. He gets into the driver's seat and looks over at you as you plug your phone into the car charger. “Don’t do that to me again,” he whispers before he leans over to press a soft, cold kiss against your lips.
You grab his hand and weave your fingers in with his and sigh contently as you settle in for the long drive back to the Lin Kuei Temple.

TOP NINE FOES OF THE REAL GHOSTBUSTERS (Q5 ERA)
@bixiebeet @spengnitzed @professorlehnsherr-almashy @slimerspengler @inevitablemoment @themousefromfantasyland @amalthea9 @janeb984 @thealmightyemprex @makingboneboy
So after the original run of successfull 78 episodes of The Real Ghostbusters (13 produced for Saturday Morning, 65 produced for syndication) the ABC Network hired executives of a company named Q5 as creative consultants, thinking that their counselling would make an already successfull show even more successfull.
That choice ended up being very controversial, as the ideas proposed by Q5 leaned more on toning down the show for children, giving more emphasis on lighthearted comedy with characters in more conservative social roles, rather than the combination of satire with somber horror that made the series so popular at the time.
Some writers agreed without questioning, while others entered in conflict with the executives. J. Michael Straczinsky left the role of story supervisor, leaving in his place the writers Len Janson and Chuck Menville.
The ratings started to drop, so the executives of ABC and Q5 reluctantly agreeded to let the writers get more creative liberty with some scripts, in the struggle to avoid the show's cancellation.
While the later seasons had mostly lukewarm episodes compared to the original two seasons of The Real Ghostbusters, there were some episodes that still showed great cleverness and creativity, being listed among the best of the series.
The interesting conflicts provided by the antagonists of these episodes was what specially made these episodes of the later half of the series, which we shall call the Q5 Era, become exceptional highlights, and today we are going to rank the top nine villains who were the saving grace of The Real Ghostbusters later years.
09º The Copycat (The Copycat)
The Copycat was a shape shifting entity, also called a "metamorph," that has the ability to change into any form it wanted.
The Copycat first appeared in the home of Miss Campbell and displayed a mischievous streak. It broke her fine china, rearranged the furniture, scared her dog and left the living room in shambles. After the GHOSTBUSTERS failed to find him, the ghost hitched a ride on Ecto-1 in the form of the No-Ghost sign. After the GHOSTBUSTERS returned to the Firehouse, it assumed many forms and pulled several cruel pranks on the GHOSTBUSTERS, framing each other in the process. Eventually, they realized what was going on and (after activating a security system to keep it from getting out of the Firehouse) started searching for it. But even then, the Copycat still had the upper hand, escaping every time they found it, and even managing to beat them by taking on the forms of Captain Steel and a Proton Stream.
The only way it could be trapped was if it was in a ghost form, and since it wasn't known what the Copycat's true form was (if it even had one), Slimer tricked the Copycat into assuming his form. The Ghostbusters hesitated at first because they were not sure which one was the real Slimer and which one was the Copycat. Egon was sure that Slimer was the one on the right, but Peter made sure by showing Slimer his favorite candy bar. After Slimer flew out of the line of fire to eat the candy bar, the GHOSTBUSTERS zapped the Copycat and caught him in a Trap before he could morph.
This entity could be small in size, but their ability to make the team distressed, not knowing if they could trust each other or not, could not be undersetimated, which makes the Copycat deserving of the number nine spot.
08º Boogaloo (The Halloween Door)
A long time ago, Earth was infested by demons. These demons were led by one named Boogaloo. Eventually, the druids struck a deal with them: Boogaloo and the worst of his demons would go off to the Netherworld on the condition that they were remembered, which led to the celebration of Halloween. This became known as the Halloween Deal.
However, 2000 years later, the paranoid Dr. Crowley (with the aid of Boogaloo's disguised servant Fairweather), who hates Halloween, in effect broke the deal when all traces of Halloween were erased by his Electronic Positronic Anti-Halloween Machine. As a result, Boogaloo and his creatures were released. They terrorized New York City and partied like crazy as they waited for midnight when the deal to honor Halloween would be forever broken and they'd be free forever. The GHOSTBUSTERS decided to split up to save the world. While Peter and Ray distracted Boogaloo, Egon and Winston traced the portal's origin to Dr. Crowley's Mansion in the Times Square district. However, the Anti-Halloween Machine was destroyed beyond repair by Boogaloo's minions to prevent anyone from reversing its effects.
Fortunately, with the help of a little girl named Irma, the GHOSTBUSTERS made Boogaloo realize that even though all the decorations, pumpkins, and costumes were erased, the true spirit of Halloween lives on in children who dared to confront the monsters who scared them. With proof that Halloween was still alive, Boogaloo and his demons were forced to return to the void they came from, for good.
An agent of chaos, Boogaloo knew how to take advantage of people's paranoia and stuborness to come take over the world, and did all of that with a great sense of fun, shown in the performance of his voice actor, the singer of the Bus Boys band Brian O' Nea, and that made him a memorable character worthy to be remember on this ranking.
07º Paul Smart (Robo-Buster)
Paul Smart was the President of a technology firm named Grossjuck Industries (GI). Just after company headquarters moved into a new high rise off 40th called Grossjuck Plaza, Paul pretended to romance Janine in order to infiltrate the Firehouse and conduct corporate espionage.
During one winter season, Smart was able to when the Ghostbusters were busy with cases and were called away at the last minute. Escorting Janine inside the Firehouse, he pretended to have a dry throat and asked for water. While Janine was occupied, Smart placed a loaded Ghost Trap into his briefcase then took photographs of blueprints for the Proton Pack, Ghost Trap, and P.K.E. Meter to create Robo-Buster X-1, a robot designed to destroy ghosts rather than contain them. Three weeks later, Smart unveiled the Robo-Buster at a press conference. Riding success, Smart was an instant celebrity. When Janine and Slimer confronted him, Smart activated the Robo-Buster and destroyed Slimer. Robo-Buster was proven to be very ineffective when it turned out that all the ghosts it "destroyed" were actually being reincarnated into a giant mass of ghosts. The Giant Mass attacked Smart's high rise office but the slippery businessman fled the building. He was last seen trying to drive off in his wrecked limousine and being taunted by the GHOSTBUSTERS.
Greedy, selfish and arrogant, Paul Smart was the kind of sleezy villain you loved to hate, and is with great satisfaction that I put him on the number seven spot.
06º Peoplebusters (Flip Side)
The Peoplebusters were flip versions of the Ghostbusters in an alternate universe, with corresponding versions of Egon Spengler, Ray Stantz, and Peter Venkman. The weapons they use are not unlike the Slime Blower, utilising slime to catch humans. There are also alternate versions of Janine Melnitz. They reside in a city called Boo York, nicknamed "The Big Pumpkin."
Flip-Egon was a skeleton with a tentacle replacing the rat-tail portion of his hair. There was even a mouth at the end of it.
Flip-Peter was a zombie who occasionally had trouble standing up.
Flip-Ray was a patchwork construct, styled after Frankenstein's monster. He even had a hand in place of one foot.
Flip-Janine was a zombie, but more skeletal-looking than Flip-Peter.
The Peoplebusters, during their dealing with living Ray, living Peter, and living Egon, chased the GHOSTBUSTERS around Boo York looking to bust them, in much the same way GHOSTBUSTERS do to ghosts in their own universe. After all three GHOSTBUSTERS were put in the Flip Side version of the Containment Unit they found the same type of weather-like twister that brought them there. The Peoplebusters then came in to deal with them, but were stopped because the GHOSTBUSTERS' equipment worked in the Containment Unit's Earth-style environment, coating the Peoplebusters in their own slime weapon. The Ghostbusters then safely returned to their home dimension, along with all of the humans captured by the Peoplebusters.
The three Peoplebusters seemed to be similar to the GHOSTBUSTERS except they were very boastful and decidedly nastier in disposition. For instance Flip-Egon in particular displayed more emotion than Egon, including a cruel sense of humor whereas Egon's wit was more dry. And Flip-Ray seemed more hard-nosed and uncompromising than Ray.
However, some scenes hinted that the Peoplebusters were not really evil and that they only capture humans to so that they don't bother the ghosts. Judging how the crowds in Boo York were cheering them, the Peoplebusters' attitudes and morality appear to be their realm's version of what is considered virtuous and heroic, the way the GHOSTBUSTERS are viewed and loved in the world of the living. This would make sense considering the physical laws of our realm do not apply there, so why would morality there match ours?
This interesting nuance is what makes the Peoplebusters winners of the sixth place on this list.
05º The Collector (The Brooklyn Triangle)
10,000 years ago, the being who would become the Collector was a mage and abjurer of spirits, until he was defeated by a powerful demon. He was imprisoned within and bound to a fortress as the Keeper of Lost Objects in an extra-dimensional realm called the Land of Lost Objects. The Collector sought The Key, the one object that could grant him freedom.
100 centuries later, the Collector induced a dangerously high P.K.E. surge to allow his agents to break through from the spirit world.
The interference of the GHOSTBUSTERS prompted the Collector to kidnap Edward Zeddemore and Winston as a bargaining tool. Following Egon's lead, the rest of the GHOSTBUSTERS immediately surrendered in order to be brought before the Collector in the most expedient manner. During a scuttle, Winston's family heirloom was revealed and it turned out to be one half of The Key. It was in the family for centuries. Edward had the second half and willingly gave it up, feeling the Collector could be trusted. The Collector then combined the halves then placed him on a vault seal. The seal rose out and revealed his exit. The Collector made it so everything lost was returned to its original place then left the Land of Lost Objects with the Key. Everything, including Slimer, Edward, and the GHOSTBUSTERS, were teleported back to the physical plane.
An interesting precursor of the work made by the GHOSTBUSTERS, he Collector was a great example of how to execute a tragic villain's redemption ark in a well done way, and this great character writing wins him the spot number five on the ranking.
04º Gorgar (You Can't Teach an Old Demon New Tricks)
Gorgar was a demon who enjoys magic tricks. He had spent years searching for a magician because he was frustrated over never getting the card trick done right. After untold years of acquiring only magicians' assistants and doves from a magic cabinet, Ray Stantz and the GHOSTBUSTERS arrived in his dimension. They encountered Gorgar, disguised as a human magician named "Gorgani." Ray was elected to help him understand how the card trick is done in exchange for helping them get back to the physical plane. However, upon mastering a trick, Gorgar revealed it was not within his power to teleport them back home.
Instead, he showed them to a mysterious gateway to the physical plane that could only be opened by a human being. After being sucked through, the Nether Energy leaked through and began to transform the physical plane into Gorgar's dimension. The gateway was a cross-dimensional conduit and drew the energy through it. Ray decided to take Gorgar back through the magic cabinet. However, only Gorgar was taken back. According to the Selbert Theory, Nether Energy could flow in only one direction at a time. When he went into the cabinet, an inward flow was created that reversed the effects of the outward flow. Gorgar was transported back to his own dimension,
While at first Gorgar seemed to be nothing more than an evil demon, he was actually a reasonable demonwho kept his word, and was willing to go to the physical plane to learn more magic tricks. He was not as malevolent as other demons, though he had an extremely dangerous temper.
His volatile personality gave him an interesting dynamic with the GHOSTBUSTERS that was both threatening, and friendly, and this is why he won the place number four on the ranking.
03º Karro Zans (Ghostworld)
Karro Zans (also known as Carl Sands) was a demonic gatekeeper that takes great pride in his cleverness. In the early 1990s, Karro Zans formulated a plan to gather thousands of ghosts and allow them to posses New Yorkers. He created an amusement park called Ghost World and plotted to lure the GHOSTBUSTERS. Once possessed, they would act as his park's good will ambassadors and lure the Mayor, City Council, and other power brokers. Zans sent a singing telegram to the Firehouse and invited the GHOSTBUSTERS to a private tour the next day. Egon was sick and both Peter and Winston declined after a busy run of busts. Ray, Slimer, and Janine went to Ghostworld and met Zans, who disguised himself as a human named Carl Sands, owner of Ghostworld. Soon after, they were possessed and tasked with getting the other three GHOSTBUSTERS to come. Peter was easily swayed with the promise of hosting a TV special.
After Egon saw a Ghostworld commercial on TV, he decided to investigate, and his mother went along with him. After exorcising Janine, Egon looked up Zans and proceeded to taunt the entity. While Janine and Mrs. Spengler saved the others, Egon planted walkie talkies all over the park and continued to infuriate Karro Zans. Once Zans' concentration was broken, Mrs. Spengler shot him with Ecto-1's headlights and the team confined him with 3 Proton Streams and the Proton Cannon, atop the roof of Ecto-1, activated by Winston. Zans was then trapped and his mental construct, the park, disappeared.
The reveal of Karro Zans's true identity and intentions was one of the most scary moments in The Real Ghostbusters. He was one the villains that came the most close to winning by tricking and posessing most of the series' main heros, and that made him worthy to be named for the third spot.
02º The Grundel (The Grundel)
The Grundel was a malicious ghost who was always looking for a willing child to manipulate into doing bad things. However, in order for his power to work, the child had to willingly let him in to their house or accept a handshake from him in person. Should the child continue to do bad things under his influence, then he or she wouldturn into a Grundel after awhile. Once the child had made a full transformation, the Grundel would then leave that child to find another.
This character was viewed by many alarmist parents as a possible child molester. While an over reaction, the Grundel's dialogue had lines that could be easily misinterpreted, such as "Come out and play child", "So fresh, so pure, but not for long", and "Open the window, we'll go away. Far from all the adults."
This famous controversial paralell with a real life type of evil makes the Grundel one of the most creepy villains ever created for animation, and the winner of the number two spot.
And the number one villain from Q5 Era of The Real Ghostbusters is...
01º Makeoveris Lotsabucks (Janine, You've Changed)
The Makoveris Lotsabucks was a creature pretending to be a Fairy Godmother. It fed on a person's insecurities about their appearance, eventually making them so perfect, they were no longer human.
For several years, the entity disguised herself as a fairy godmother to feed on Janine's longing to be seen as beautiful by Egon. It used ectoplasmic energy to alter Janine's bone and cellular structure and give her a makeover. After being summoned three times in one week, the Makoveris was almost ready to being the final phase of her parasitic relationship with Janine, to "be one with her."
While looking through Janine's photograph album, Slimer realized the drastic changes in Janine's appearance. He alerted Peter who then gathered everyone for a meeting. Makoveris' powers had also been preventing the GHOSTBUSTERS from noticing the differences in the past. When they were convinced a supernatural force was responsible, they sent Slimer to spy on Janine. The Makoveris changed Janine for the third time that week. Then, the entity noticed Slimer and summoned a trio of Spectral Dogs to destroy him.
At 11:44 p.m., Slimer returned to the Firehouse where the Ghostbusters trapped the three ghosts. After reading Slimer's report, Egon found the Makoveris' entry in the home computer database. Secretly watching from the skylight, the Makoveris realized her time was running out. She appeared to Janine and tricked her into thinking the GHOSTBUSTERS were gonna turn against her out of petty jealousy.
The Makoveris Lotsabucks led Janine back to the harbor and coached her into attacking the GHOSTBUSTERS. Egon modified the P.K.E. Meters to only detect the Makoveris. At a little after 4:37 a.m., Egon arrived in the harbor and managed to snap Janine out of the entities control, then Ray , Peter, and Winston showed up and trapped the Makoveris Lotsabucks.
Janine You've Changed is considered by many viewers the best episode to come out in the later seasons of The Real Ghostbusters.
Acording to its writer, J. Michael Straczinsky:
Several months after finishing work on The Twilight Zone I was still looking for another gig when a call came from Michael Gross, producer of the rebooted Slimer! and the Real Ghostbusters. He explained that the show's ratings had continued to plummet and they needed my help.
Sure but I have some conditions. First, I want the authority to argue with the network censors. Second, the Junior Ghostbusters don't exist. Third, I don't write Slimer as a kid surrogate-he's a ghost, he's a dead thing, and I like kicking the crap out of him."
This episode explained all the changes Janine went through over the seasons, revealing that it was something that happened in-universe and was not a case of audience filter. Egon even noted her Brooklyn accent disappeared.
"Finally, I want to restore Janine to what she was: an independent, smart assertive woman, not the submissive, passive mommy character they networked turned her into.
The censors and consultants who had pushed for a softer Janine hated the story, but there was nothing they could do to stop it. They were particularly furious that the story equated them with a hell-born demon."
An almost subversive, edgy call out satire of network and censors sexism, that helped giving logic to a seemingly arbitrary change of a beloved character, the fact that the Makeoveris Lotsabucks got to so quietly prey on Janine's insecurities about herself, for years, before the GHOSTBUSTERS could notice, is no less than astounding. Most villains took a few hours or days to be discovered and defeated in the series, but she kept herself hidden for a long time, and thankfully didn't managed to destroy Janine in the proccess!
And that is why she my favorite villain of the Q5 Era of The Real Ghostbusters.

Julia Schenkelberg, “Blue Ocean”, 2020, Blue dye, resin, rusted metal from Detroit factory floors, plaster chips, vintage china, glass from Brooklyn beaches
Malone University Art Gallery’s exhibition Healing Spaces features work by Northeastern Ohio artists Julie Schenkelberg, Chen Peng, Yiyun Chen, and Emily Bartolone. Although the mediums differ, the work flows together in the room. Below are some selections and more about each artist from the gallery’s documentation.
Julie Schenkelberg, "Modern Memorial", 2020, Found screen, plaster, acrylic paint, vintage leather and fabric, jewelry box interior, glass gathered from Cleveland and Detroit auto and steel factory abandoned floors, vintage glass slide of the Parthenon Frieze
Julie Schenkelberg grew up in the post-industrial landscape of Cleveland, Ohio. Her mixed-media installations start with furniture, dishware, textiles, and marble, combined with concrete, resin, and construction materials, to transform notions of domesticity, and engage with the American Rust Belt's legacy of abandonment and decay. Using the home as a playground for formal and conceptual subversions, the work aggressively disrupts cohesion within the physical sphere. Familiar furnishings rekindle memories or premonitions of collapse, suggesting both the utter destruction of war, calamities, or urban decay, but also the uncanny juxtapositions of fragile substances such as cloth and china, with industrial materials such as rusty metal, heavy concrete, and tool-made marks such as drilled holes and chain-sawed indentations.
Chen Peng, Paintings from the "Mountains at Night" series, 2023, gouache, acrylic, and oil on canvas
Deriving from a desire to find stillness and grounding as an immigrant, Chen Peng explores the connection between landscape and the complexities of identity and belonging. She creates foreign landscapes from a combination of past experiences, memories, and imagination, delving into the disorienting sense of not knowing where home is. The moon, particularly in its fullness, becomes a symbol encapsulating emotions and metaphors associated with loneliness, reverence, and even terror. Her ceramic pieces extend this exploration of landscapes, featuring textures and marks that convey the essence of mountains, clouds, and the moon.
Photographs from from Yiyun Chen's series "Velleity", 2016-2018
The photography of Yiyun Chen is about the process of self-reflection and self-discovery as an Asian immigrant, exploring the relationship between people, environment and society, turning its personal experience and empathy into gentle conversations between humans and nature, capturing the poetic and distance of the environment around us. Through photography, we can take the essence of life seriously again and treat the people and things around us tenderly. Through his lens, they often have similar structure, people look tiny in nature scenes, creating an intimate visual experience. Most of his photographs are captured outdoors, with soft light and harmonious colors often used.
Stemming from her infatuation with the formal elements of painting, the work of Emily Bartolone pairs down simple, anthropomorphized shapes in an effort to explore paint and color theory while simultaneously creating tension and humor through color, edges, and texture. The playful, human qualities of painting are incorporated into the work through the use of amorphous shapes animated within the picture plane. Further informed by ideas of the mundane, the awkward, and the jovial that surround everyday life, the complexity of human relationships are mimicked by the shapes interacting on each painting's surface. In acknowledging that life is not always cordial, moments of tension are placed within the satisfying surfaces in the form of an abrupt mark, a disparate color, or a shift in scale. These ideas are used to take viewers outside of themselves for a short period of time, hoping to offer a break from the bombardment of distractions, notifications, and news we encounter so often on a daily basis.
This exhibition closes 4/9/24.

Debt - a Miyacestober ficlet
Yazuka AU implied Miyacest and implied side noncon SakuAtsu
------
"The Boss'll see you now."
Osamu jumps at the words and looks up at Aran from where he sits. The leather of the sofa beneath him creaks as he jumps to his feet. He strides quickly across the room, the heels of his shiny black shoes clicking on the polished floor as he makes his way to the door.
"Thanks,” he mutters with a bow as he passes through the threshold. Aran falls in step behind him as they make their way up the hallway and to another door. Aran gestures for Osamu to remove his shoes and he does so with a sigh and a roll of his shoulder. His movements are stiff beneath the expensive silk button down; the tendons in his shoulder are tense and the bruising to his side aches as he bends to shuffle loose his expensive footwear. He levels Aran with a look that says happy? Once his shoes are neatly tucked on the bamboo rack beside the door, Aran responds with a curt nod before slipping from his own shoes and housing them in the space beside Osamus’. He kneels by the door and raps his knuckles against the wood. They wait only a moment in silence before a voice confirms their permission to enter. Aran slides the door open and comes to his feet.
The room is dimly lit but Osamu is well aware of the tradition and opulence on display, from the ancient family heirlooms adorning the walls in both scroll and steel, to the gold lining every fixture; from the lamps to the teacups, in the pens upon the desk, and the golden trim inlayed into the very desk itself. Kita himself isn’t reclining in the grand leather armchair sat behind the solid oak desk, rather he sits on the tatami that covers the floor, behind a low tea table, fine China and hot cups already wafting steam into the room. Despite the building that houses their operation being western style, and most of the furniture made to match, Kita had a flair for the traditional, unlike his predecessor who had a taste for things a little bolder, gaudy even, as some may say.
He wore a haori over his designer cotton dress shirt, coloured in a rich burgundy and painted with rice fields and herons. He looks small and serene, almost harmless as he gently raises a cup to his lips. Blowing across the surface of the matcha tea inside before taking a sip, he doesn't open his eyes, nor does he acknowledge the men now present in his space, savouring the flavour on his tongue before lowering the cup into his lap. When his eyes do open any air of benignness is dispelled by the sharp stare shot across the room, like that of a beautiful fox, both alluringly curious with a hint of danger. These eyes held a warning, anyone was potentially prey beneath them.
“Boss," Osamu says, dropping to his knees and bowing deeply.
“Osamu.” Kita nods towards the tea set, “Pour yourself a cup.”
Osamu rises, sitting back on his heels with his palms laid atop his thighs.
“If you’ll excuse me, I’d rather not. Have ya’ gotten word yet?”
The shift in the rooms' atmosphere is subtle, but Osamu was always perceptive. He hears Aran shuffle just slightly where he sits in his peripheral vision and Kita’s chin tips a degree to the right. Osamu’s gut twists and the hair on the back of his neck stands.
“So, what did Sakusa have to say? An' where’s ‘Tsumu?”
He watches, frustration building as Kita sips his tea and pours himself another. His movements are slow, deliberate and methodical, each item picked up placed back perfectly in its space on the tea tray. Osamu could shout, demand an answer, but he’s learned from years under Kita that brutish language and intimidation will get him nowhere. Kita runs a tight ship and those who defy are easily cast out.
“Sakusa has Atsumu.”
The air between them grows thick, tightening Osamu’s lungs and strangling him. Kita turns to him, his face impartial, cold even.
“What do ya' mean has him? Ya had some business to negotiate and took Tsumu, why-” he can't breathe, “why the fuck does that piece of work have 'Tsumu?”
“You know exactly why, Osamu.”
His blood runs cold and he feels the colour drain from his face. The room lists to the side but somehow those golden eyes stay constant, existing beyond the rules of time and space, piercing straight through him. The words echo in his ears as Kita continues to speak.
“You’ve been stepping on toes, Osamu. You took things that didn't belong to you, things that belonged to Itachiyama and Sakusa. I simply offered a gift to make amends and Sakusa has... Particular tastes.”
Osamu's stomach flips. It was no secret that the kumicho of Itachiyama was a ruthless and cold leader, but rumour was he was a sadist to the darkest degree.
"How could ya just give him to him? He's part of our family– he's my brother?" Osamu can't hold in his emotions any more, fury seeps into his voice, into his muscles, winding his jaw tight and filling his chest. His fingers claw into the black fabric of his slacks.
"Our family, Osamu? You swore to me when we exchanged cups, to be my brother, and yet you betray me?"
"Kita, I swear, I didn't –"
"You betrayed me when you angered Sakusa. I merely paid your debt."
Osamu gapes at him, bewildered by what he was hearing.
"Why bring 'Tsumu into it?" He asks, voice trembling as he clings to his last threads of reason; his mind a flickering slideshow of the endless possibilities, of Atsumu bound, gagged, beaten; of Sakusa's filthy hands on his pristine skin.
"Oh come now, Osamu. Did you think I didn't know about you two?" Osamu feels ill, shame washes over him as he begins to tremble. "This is both reparations to Sakusa and a punishment for you, and perhaps now, with your precious brother aside, you'll show me the loyalty you promised."
"Get him back," Osamu growls, lurching forward and slamming his palms down on the tea table.
"Osamu!" Aran shouts a warning, his hand shooting out and wrapping firmly around Osamu's bicep.
"Get him back!"
"No," Kita replies calmly, unflinching at Osamu's posturing.
"Then I'll get him back myself," Osamu spits, coming to his feet and toppling the tea table, shattering the china teapot and cups, staining the tatami.
"If you go against me, Osamu, then you go against the whole of Inarizaki."
"Fuck the Inarizaki, if this is what they would do to my brother."
"Aran." Kita beckons. "He's no longer welcome here."
Osamu looms over Kita for a moment, their eyes locked in a heated stare, before Aran pulls him toward the door, his gun drawn and pointed at Osamu's side.
"He will kill you," Kita warns.
"No," Osamu says, turning to look over his shoulder, "I'm gunna kill 'im, then I'll be back fer yer head too."

When I was little, I had one of these tin dollhouses that were popular in the 1950’s and 60’s. As a child growing up, I dreamed of someday living in a dream house just like the one I played with. I hoped for lots of bedrooms, a cute baby nursery, and a fireplace in the living room. Now I dream of owning another tin dollhouse like the one I had when I was little.
🏠 VINTAGE DOLLHOUSES: A BRIEF HISTORY OF MINIATURE HOUSES AND WHY WE LOVE THEM- While dollhouses may seem like timeless childhood playthings, this hasn’t always been the case – when they first emerged in the 17th century, they weren’t designed for children or playing!
Intended to impress and entertain guests, the first “miniature houses” or “cabinet houses”, as they were called, belonged to wealthy people in 17th century Germany, Holland and England. They were usually built in cabinets with hinged front doors (like a china cabinet), divided into floors and rooms that contained expensive miniature household objects, décor, and furniture. Then in the 18th century, it became popular for English elites to commission small-scale replicas of their own houses, with exact copies of all the inner rooms and furnishings, which they called “baby houses”.
While these miniature houses were the domain of upper-class adults, “Nuremburg Kitchens” (miniature dioramas of household kitchens) were given to little girls as far back as the 16th century. Their purpose was supposedly to teach young, future housewives about managing a household, but these tiny worlds would have captured the imagination of little children would have ultimately become playthings.
Fast forward to the 20th century, when mass-production, mail-order catalogues, and the rise of department stores bring dollhouses into the mainstream for middle-class children. Plastic dollhouse furniture was catching on in the 1940s, and after WWII it became the go-to material for dollhouse furnishings. Renwal and Ideal maintained leadership in the plastic dollhouse furniture market through the 1950s, but manufacturers including Plasco, Pressman, Marx, Reliable and others also enjoyed success during this period.
Steel (AKA tin-litho) dollhouses also gained popularity around the same time, first appearing in the late 1940s. This Woolworths advertisement from 1948 features Renwal plastic furniture sets alongside one of the earliest steel dollhouses, this Playsteel Federal-style dollhouse, manufactured by the American Can Co. Marx, T.Cohn, and others also made steel dollhouses, the most popular being “Colonial” styles and split-level ranch.

The global Covid response was the turning point in public trust, economic vitality, citizen health, free speech, literacy, religious and travel freedom, elite credibility, demographic longevity, and so much more. Now five years following the initial spread of the virus that provoked the largest-scale despotisms of our lives, something else seems to be biting the dust: the postwar neo-liberal consensus itself.
The world as we knew it only a decade ago is on fire, precisely as Henry Kissinger warned in one of his last published articles. Nations are erecting new trade barriers and dealing with citizen uprisings like we’ve never seen before, some peaceful, some violent, and most that could go either way. On the other side of this upheaval lies the answer to the great question: what does political revolution look like in advanced industrial economies with democratic institutions? We are in the process of finding out.
Let’s take a quick march through modern history through the lens of US-China relations. From the time of China’s opening in the 1980s to the election of Donald Trump in 2016, the volume of trade imports from China only grew, decade after decade. It was the most conspicuous sign of a general trajectory toward globalism that began following the Second World War and accelerated with the end of the Cold War. Tariffs and trade barriers fell ever more, as dollars as the world reserve currency filled the coffers of world central banks. The US was the global source of liquidity that made it all possible.
It came at a huge cost, however, as the US through the decades lost its manufacturing advantages in dozens of industries that once defined the American commercial experience. Watches and clocks, pianos, furniture, textiles, clothing, steel, tools, shipbuilding, toys, household appliances, home electronics, and semiconductors all left US shores while other industries are on the rocks, most especially cars. Today, the much-celebrated “green energy” industries seem fated to be outcompeted as well.

Chinas goods prove hard to resist as US EU maintain imports amid tariff bonanza
While China has reduced its reliance on goods from the United States and European Union, a German think tank said, use of the country’s products has increased “significantly” in the West over the past 20 years – even as trade restrictions against the East Asian powerhouse have steadily ramped up. Though the EU and US need for imports from China can be seen most clearly in machinery and electronic equipment, some degree of dependence exists across a range of industries, the non-profit think tank Mercator Institute for China Studies (Merics) said in an analysis released on Wednesday. Textiles and furniture were deemed areas of “significant reliance” by authors of the report, which crunched numbers from as far back as 2000. These findings come in the wake of increased US tariffs on Chinese-made electric vehicles (EVs), EV batteries, solar cells and steel levied this year – the latest development in a six-year trade dispute which began after former US president Donald Trump imposed import duties on US$550 billion worth of Chinese goods. Over the past year, the EU has stepped up anti-subsidy probes and raised tariffs on Chinese imports, mostly covering goods related to the lucrative EV industry. The US relied “heavily” on imports from China in 532 of about 5,000 categories in 2022, the think tank said, nearly four times the figure recorded in 2000. The EU’s count for the same year was 421, about three times more than in 2004. Source link via The Novum Times

Create the Perfect Dining Room with These 10 Stunning Design Inspirations
Your dining room is more than just a space for meals—it's a hub for shared moments, cherished memories, and lively conversations. With thoughtful interior design, it can be transformed into an inviting, stylish sanctuary that reflects your personality and lifestyle. At WeDezine, we believe in creating dining spaces that perfectly balance form, function, and beauty. Whether your style is contemporary chic or rustic charm, here are 10 stunning design ideas to elevate your dining room.
1. Embrace Modern Minimalism
If you love simplicity and sophistication, modern minimalism is your best bet. Opt for a neutral color palette—think whites, greys, and soft earth tones—to create a calm, spacious feel. Choose sleek, streamlined furniture like a rectangular dining table with minimalist chairs, and keep decor to a minimum. A statement pendant light in geometric or metallic design adds a touch of drama without cluttering the space. Finish the look with subtle accents such as an abstract painting or a minimalist vase to tie the room together. Modern minimalism is all about creating a serene, clutter-free environment.
2. Create a Cozy Rustic Retreat
For a warm and inviting dining room, rustic design is the way to go. Opt for a wooden dining table with a distressed or reclaimed finish as the centerpiece, paired with cozy upholstered chairs or a rustic bench. Incorporate natural materials like woven placemats, wooden wall art, and linen tablecloths to add texture and warmth. To complete the cozy look, add soft lighting—think vintage-inspired lanterns or Edison bulbs—and decorative elements like exposed beams or a stone feature wall. Rustic dining rooms are perfect for creating a relaxed, homey atmosphere that’s great for family meals.
3. Add Bold Colors and Patterns
If you're drawn to vibrant, dynamic spaces, don't shy away from bold colors and patterns. A feature wall painted in deep shades like navy, emerald, or terracotta can instantly elevate the room. Mix in bold-patterned textiles—like a Persian rug or geometric cushions—to create contrast and texture. Balance the vibrant hues with simple furniture: opt for a solid wood dining table with neutral-toned chairs. Keep your accessories playful but coordinated, ensuring they complement the overall theme. This design style is perfect for creating a lively, spirited dining room full of personality.
4. Opt for Timeless Elegance
For those who appreciate classic beauty, a timeless elegant design can turn your dining room into a sophisticated retreat. Start with a high-quality wooden table, complemented by upholstered chairs in luxe fabrics like velvet or silk. A crystal chandelier or polished brass lighting fixture adds a luxurious touch, creating a focal point above the table. Add rich curtains, fine china, and heirloom furniture pieces to bring in an air of grandeur. Opt for rich colors like burgundy, deep green, or gold accents to enhance the room's elegance. This style is ideal for formal dining spaces that radiate refinement and charm.
5. Achieve a Contemporary Industrial Look
For a cool, urban vibe, embrace the industrial design trend. Incorporate materials like exposed brick, metal, and wood to achieve an edgy, yet sophisticated atmosphere. A dining table with a metal frame and a rustic wooden top fits perfectly with this aesthetic. Go for metal chairs or stools, and opt for lighting fixtures that feature exposed bulbs or steel frames. To add warmth, layer in textiles like a woven rug or soft cushions. Industrial design is about blending raw, unfinished elements with modern chic to create a dining room that feels fresh and modern.
6. Add a Touch of Glamour
To inject a little luxury into your dining room, consider a glamorous interior design approach. Start with a glossy dining table—glass or lacquered surfaces work best. Pair it with velvet or leather chairs for a plush look. A statement chandelier with crystals or metallic finishes will immediately up the glamour quotient. Incorporate metallic accents in gold, silver, or rose gold through decorative pieces like candle holders or mirrored trays. Jewel tones like sapphire, emerald, and ruby are great for adding depth and drama, making your dining room feel like an opulent, high-end space.
7. Design a Farmhouse-Inspired Space
A farmhouse-inspired dining room design combines rustic charm with modern comfort. Choose a large, farmhouse-style table with a distressed wood finish as the focal point. Pair it with a mix of seating options, such as wooden chairs and a cozy bench. Add homey details like vintage crockery, mason jars, and a simple, woven runner. To keep the space feeling light and airy, use soft whites and pastels for your color scheme. Opt for warm, soft lighting such as a vintage chandelier or lanterns. This style is perfect for those who love a welcoming, lived-in feel with a touch of nostalgia.
8. Embrace Scandinavian Simplicity
For a look that’s both practical and stylish, consider Scandinavian-inspired interior design. Keep the palette light and airy with soft, neutral tones like whites, creams, and light greys. A lightwood dining table paired with simple, clean-lined chairs sets the stage. To avoid a stark feel, layer in cozy textures with cushions, throws, and a woolen area rug. Incorporate natural elements like plants or wooden accessories for warmth. Lighting is key in Scandinavian design—choose soft, diffused light from pendant fixtures to create a warm, inviting atmosphere.
9. Infuse Global Influences
Bring a worldly, eclectic vibe to your dining room by incorporating global-inspired decor. Start with an ornate rug—perhaps a Moroccan design or a Turkish kilim—and build from there. Incorporate rich textiles, intricate patterns, and handcrafted pieces like African masks, Indian textiles, or Asian ceramics. Use bold, saturated colors on the walls or through accent pieces. The key is balance—mix and match patterns and textures while maintaining a cohesive color palette. Global-inspired lighting, like lanterns or pendant lamps, can help tie the room together and add a unique touch.
10. Prioritize Functional Elegance
Functional elegance focuses on beauty without compromising practicality. Opt for an extendable dining table that can adjust to fit your needs, paired with stylish, comfortable seating. Choose furniture that offers built-in storage, such as sideboards with extra space for dishes or glassware. Incorporate smart lighting solutions, like dimmable fixtures, to set the right mood for any occasion. Keep the room clutter-free with elegant storage baskets or wall-mounted shelving. This design ensures that your dining room is not only a feast for the eyes but also a highly functional space for everyday use.
By embracing these interior design ideas, you can transform your dining room into a stunning, functional space that truly reflects your style. Whether you're drawn to minimalist aesthetics, rustic charm, or a touch of glamour, these ideas will help elevate your dining experience, making it a place where memories are made.
