In Idlib province, new protests against the conscription of militants

In northwestern Syria, relations between the local population and Turkish-backed militants continue to escalate due to the ongoing forced conscription campaign by pro-Turkish gangs and the growing food crisis.

So in the cities of Ishterbak and Chiftlik-Shogur held by pro-Turkish militants, rallies of up to 200 people were held against the violent conscription. The protesters also condemned corruption in the so-called "Salvation Government" and demanded to solve the food crisis. Demonstrators blocked the road by burning rubber tires and called for more flour and fuel to be allocated to the province.

In the Idlib zone, the practice of forced conscription into the ranks of illegal armed groups is widespread. In Jisr-Esh-Shugur, “Shariah patrols” detained and forcibly sent seven local residents to a training camp, after having beaten them up.
