chels’ weekly faves

okay so i document like everything that i like under the pretence that i’ll be thankful i did it in the future; i make monthly song playlists of what i listened to most, have a comprehensive list of every kpop song/group i’ve listened to so far with whether i liked them or not, and even write down all the books/movies i watch and rate them in my bullet journal. so i thought to myself “hey why don’t i do that on my blog bc that might be interesting??” nd now here’s the first one of my “weekly” faves which probably won't be very weekly. idk what i’m gonna talk about yet but it’ll probably be songs, maybe videos or mv’s, and fics i really like. i can’t think of anything else i might add but this is highkey for me bc its something i can go back on and read in the future. ((also i won't have this unnecessarily long explanation each time but it’s the first one so))

songs: 

so this week i haven't really listened to that many new songs that i can think of but i do have 2: 

crash - usher // shoutout to my boy rocky for playing this song in every astro play where he plays music. it’s been stuck in my head for like 2 weeks nd i finally got around to actually listening to it and since then, i’ve had it on repeat. 

really really - winner // this one is also a shoutout to rocky bc he played it, but more accurately to bin and eunwoo bc they requested rocky play it. highkey a bop nd i’m shook i didn't know about it before yesterday tbh

videos: 

similarly to songs, i haven't really watched that many new videos this week but i have been nonstop watching one i discovered a little while ago so: 

stop and stare cover - day6 // i don’t really remember how i found this one tbh, i think it was just recommended when i was watching some other day6 covers but this is probably one of my faves by them bc it suits their voices real well so it’s been highkey on repeat for me. 

rocky’s new Y.Y.Y. vlive // this was the only new video i watched this week i think bc i’ve been waiting for english subs on a lot of things, but it was 11/10 bc i love listening to rocky talk about dance and just watching him dance in general so, a great experience, would recommend if you're like me and hella late on watching it. 

i’ve also been watching the mv for UP10TION’S tonight a bunch this week for no real reason but you can check that out if you haven't seen it too

okay in all honesty there are highkey so many fics i could write about but if i did then this list would be crazy long so i’m just gonna see which ones i’ve reblogged as fanfic recs this week nd go with those: 

college!au astro by @astrofireworks // so this wasn’t really a fic but it was really good nd creative and i thought they were so accurate. please read if you haven't nd also read vivi’s other stuff bc it is also awesome. 

wish for a kiss by @vonseal // okay so this was some 11/10 domestic nd fluffy myungjin which i can get behind literally any day and on top of that it was written by seal who is such an amazing writer nd who i love so much. 

socky coffee shop au by @jakganim // okay so jordan is literally such a good writer nd i loved this so much. this was written on jordan’s fic blog which everyone should go follow if they don’t bc its a blessing. 

office au by @alternateastro​ // i thought this was v funny nd clever, and also that each of astro’s personalities were captured so well. ps in general if you don't follow this blog then please do bc i love all of their au’s, they're so good. 

insomnia by @parkjinchu // this was highkey so good!! i related to the idea of not being able to fall asleep bc life nd then that combined with fluffy binu made my heart real happy.

okay i think thats all bc this post is hella long nd i could recommend fics forever bc i have so much appreciation for all the ones i’ve read but then this post would be even longer and no one wants that ((especially me bc i still have to link everything, send help)). thanks if you actually read this nd checked out literally anything i talked about bc thats real cool and though its not specifically my intention for people to check out anything i talked about, i’ll find it mad cool if anyone did. like i said this is way too long already so i’m gonna end this here, but thanks again nd i’ll ((eventually)) be back w another one

i am definitely a week late on this BUT i’m just gonna roll with it bc why not. this is gonna cover last week and i guess what i’ve been liking so far this week, also bc why not. 

august 19th - august 26th ((but actually up until the 29th))

songs:

so this week i actually have more songs bc i was listening to more new music apparently:

wee woo - pristin // i heard this song bc of some of my friends who are into kpop and it’s been stuck in my head since then so it def had to make this list. the background music (idk what to call it yikes) for this song is good and the chorus is really catchy.  holiday - girls generation // i found this one the same way as wee woo. i honestly don’t usually listen to many girl groups but this week, bc of my friends, i listened to a bunch of songs by girl groups. the chorus of this is really catchy and i really enjoy the mv for it.  comfort - rusty clanton // not kpop but rusty clanton is one of my favourite song writers ever and he released a new song this week and i cried bc it was so heartbreakingly beautiful and ugh i love rusty.  she is - jonghyun // i actually heard this song in a video that was about parts of kpop songs the person disliked. my one friend is really into SHINee (and i like a few of their songs) so i had to give it a proper chance before deciding my own opinion on it and tbh i liked it. it’s got a cool vibe and jonghyun is (always) a good vocalist.  something about the sunshine - starstruck // this song also isn’t a kpop song but i watched starstruck (i love that movie omg) with a few friends last week so this had to be here for the nostalgia :’) baby - astro // this last song is obviously not a new song for me or anything but i listened to baby a bunch this week and it’s such a BOP, i love it so much nd i highkey can’t help but get up and dance every time i hear it. 

videos: 

i can honestly only think of a few videos i watched this week so: 

baseball ddoca - eunwoo and moonbin // i finally noticed that this had english subs so i actually got around to watching eunwoo and moonbin at the LG game. it was v cute, i love binu and baseball and ddoca so all three together was fun to watch girl put your records on - jae // i’ve seen jae singing girl put your records on on asc like a billion times but i love it so much more each time nd i rewatched that a bunch of times this week so  acoustic congratulations - day6 // i’ve also heard this asc performance way too many times but i love acoustic day6 so much and i also watched this a bunch this week so it also needed to be on here  vlive art show - mj and eunwoo // i also finally got around to watching mj and eunwoo’s vlive art show which was also really cute. mj is lowkey so good at art and eunwoo being told he looks like an old woman made me laugh really hard. ps pre-debut sanha is shaking at eunwoo’s bucket hat :’)

spontaneous by @vonseal​ // highkey cringed so hard reading this but it’s still so well written. plus seal’s magic users universe is my fave thing and i’d probably read just about anything in it. 

i’m sorry (for being a moron) also by @vonseal​ // CUTE SOCKY AND CUTE MYUNGJIN YES PLEASE. i loved this fic so much it was so cute, a+ for seal once again. 

wither by @parkjinchu​ // i’m already lowkey crying at this fic and i can guarantee i’m gonna be highkey crying before it’s finished. this fic is so well written and the angst will probably kill me :’)

ballet!binu by @astrofireworks​ // this one isn’t finished yet BUT it’s still good so far. i can’t wait for the next part. 

stay with me by @jinwoostro​ // DOMESTIC MARRIED BINU. this was short nd sweet and i loved it so so much. domestic fluff is 11/10 and this was 11/10 as well. also, “ew, gross” 

stay by @parkjinchu​ // i’ve actually read this fic like 5 times tbh i just love it so much. i said this about mary’s other fic but this is so well written and just socky fluff is one of my fave things and this socky fluff was so well done just asjdks like i said, i love this fic. 

i think this ended up longer than last time accidentally but i could talk about the stuff i like for literally 40 pages tbh. again, thanks for reading this if you do and also like last time, shoutout to these authors for writing some of my fave stuff. i’m gonna end this here and struggle through linking everything i talked about but hopefully i don’t accidentally write this in the middle of a week again whoops.
