After the adrenaline-laden chase, their connection blossomed as they exchanged playful banter while helping each other wash away the remnants of the night's escapade. Chanyeol, ever the attentive host, orchestrated a bath like a maestro crafting a soothing melody—an oasis of fragrant bubbles and soft candlelight that cradled them in serene tranquility.

The ambiance, a blend of warm hues and the soft glow of flickering candles, transformed the living room into an intimate sanctuary. Plush towels cocooned their bodies as they emerged from the bath, the softness against their skin accentuating the sense of comfort and closeness.

A bottle of rich red wine awaited them on the coffee table, its deep aroma mingling with the playful banter that echoed through the room.

"So," Chanyeol grinned, pouring the wine, "what's the most adventurous thing you've ever done?"

Y/N chuckled, her eyes gleaming with mischief. "Well, aside from narrowly escaping danger tonight, I once climbed the city's tallest building just to see the sunrise."

Christmas Confession - a baekjoy one shot au

Sooyoung hates Baekhyun's guts. He is flirty, naughty and everything about being playboy. But that changed at her brother's Christmas wedding.

"Sooyoung, did you ready the cake na ba? Malapit na ang toast for your Kuya Chanyeol and Seulgi."

Her mom has been nagging her for an hour now. It was Chanyeol and Seulgi's Christmas wedding. And as the pastry chef of their home, she's been the one assigned to prep the cake.

"Wait lang, Ma. Ipapalabas ko na." Sooyoung told her mom and put the final piece on top of the cake.

She smiled at her work. This is her wedding gift to the couple. She loves that Seulgi is finally part of their family.

The kitchen door flew open and someone enter her territory.

"Hi, Tita! Pinapatanong ni Mom if you received that gift from Ninong Ben."

Ugh. Sooyoung hates that annoying voice. He is the spawn of satan and the human being who annoys her for 15 years now.

"Baekhyun, I'm glad you're here. Pakitulungan na nga 'tong si Sooyoung ilabas ang cake at pupuntahan ko lang ang mommy mo."

Her mother finally exit the kitchen and she was left alone with Baekhyun.

She glanced at Baekhyun who was beaming at her like he always does whenever he gets the opportunity.

"So anong help ang kailangan mo?" Baekhyun went to her side and checked the cake.

She frowned at him. "I don't need your help. Nakita mo na ngang tapos na oh."

"Sungit. Ako na nga nag-o-offer ng help."

He picked a chocolate chip ingredient from a bowl and ate it. And of course, Baekhyun wouldn't miss it for the world to make sure he would look sexy eating the chocolate in front of her.

Sooyoung swallowed a lump in her throat after ogling at him unconsciously. He doesn't need to do that. It is already pretty obvious he is attractive. And she knows that.

She mentally shook her head to clear the night she almost gave in to her desires.

"Tulungan mo na nga lang akong ilabas 'tong cake. Ang bigat nito. Tatawagin ko rin si Mang Daniel para tatlo tayo."

She washed her hands before finally heading out of the kitchen. She could hear the low chuckling of Baekhyun before the kitchen door closed.

And Sooyoung swore that her Kuya's best friend will surely be the death of her. She can definitely resist that charms. Right?

THREE WEEKS BEFORE THE WEDDING

"Woohoo!! Seulgi will be part of our family now. Cheers for the bride!"

Sooyoung was already drunk and standing on top of the table. Why did she even empty that bottle of red wine? She was a lightweight for fuck's sake.

Ahh. That Jongin guy left her hanging.

After one year of being in a relationship, Jongin broke up with her. And all his explanation was he fell out of love.

And Seulgi's bridal shower is the best way to release that heartbreak.

Sooyoung continued her monologue on top of the table. "Seulgi, those guys are all the same. But you're lucky my Kuya is not like all other guys. He is so fucking in love with you since we were 10 years old."

She gulped once more from her glass and almost fell off the table. Luckily, she was able to hold her stand.

All for Seulgi. All for releasing the heartbreak.

The guests in Seulgi's bridal shower were already uncomfortable because of her sudden rant. She was totally oblivious from what she was saying that Seulgi finally hold her arms and brought her down from the table.

"Sooyoung, enough na." Her friend gently soothed her hair. "I'll have someone pick you up. Then let's talk about this tomorrow."

Seulgi led her out of the bar and they waited at the curbside of the road. Sooyoung finally felt drunk and tired that she just leaned her head on Seulgi's shoulder.

Her Kuya Chanyeol is not just the lucky one to have Seulgi but also her. She took a mental note despite her drunkenness that she will apologize tomorrow to Seulgi for causing a scene in her bridal shower.

"Anong nangyari dyan?"

Sooyoung heard a familiar voice and looked up where that voice was coming from. And there behold the most beautiful face and at the same time the most annoying face she ever witnessed.

Baekhyun was her Kuya's best friend. Basically, they've all grew up together. He was that kid who always competed with her academically. Being a competitive she was, Sooyoung hated it that Baekhyun always won.

And as they became young adults, she hated it that his day wouldn't be complete if he didn't get to annoy her or gave her those subtle flirty remarks.

Even though Baekhyun is gorgeous, she would resist those charms.

Like... Really resist.

"Why is he here?" She drunkenly asked Seulgi and she heard Baekhyun chuckled.

"Ako maghahatid sayo malamang. Chanyeol is busy with his own party. And you being a brat as usual, needs to have a prince charming to take you home," Baekhyun said to her.

Sooyoung didn't forget to frown at him despite her being almost half-asleep and Baekhyun just ignored it to help her get up.

Seulgi laughed at their bickering like she always does. "Ihatid mo na lang 'to, Baek. Tulog naman na malamang sila Tita Amanda pagdating nyo sa bahay nila. Hindi ka naman nakainom, right?"

"Nope. Sober na sober." Baekhyun replied to Seulgi and pulled Sooyoung up.

They said their goodnight to Seulgi and walked towards Baekhyun's car.

Sooyoung felt his soft hands around her waist, making sure she wouldn't stumble. Why does she just noticed now how really caring Baekhyun is? He was always that naughty and flirty best friend of her Kuya. And she never saw Baekhyun in a stable relationship.

They were finally inside his car and Baekhyun fastened her seatbelt before putting a neck pillow around her head.

"Try to get some nap. Alam mo namang di mo kaya ang alcohol, naglasing ka pa rin."

"Are you belittling me?"

Baekhyun gently ruffled her hair and gazed at her. "Sleep you pretty brat."

Sooyoung smiled before closing her eyes, realizing that she find Baekhyun's gestures tonight heart fluttering.

She wiped her almost teary-eyed face after saying a full five minutes speech to the newly wed couple. Sooyoung is truly happy that Chanyeol and Seulgi are finally married. They are destined to each other.

She watched as how Chanyeol gazed lovingly at Seulgi. She couldn't help but wonder if someone does the same for her. For pete's sake she is in her late 20s now. She wants to have children before she reach her 30s. Unfortunately, all the guy she dated were assholes.

Sooyoung grabbed her coat and decided to take a walk. A Christmas wedding in Baguio was brilliant and beautiful but she couldn't stand the cold night.

"You didn't text me back after that party. Akala ko something's going on between us."

She saw and heard a girl whining in front of a man as she approached the balcony garden of Camp John Hay.

"Suzy, nothing's going on between us. I'm sorry if me being friendly made you think there's something more."

She grimaced at him. "As if may gagawin kang masama."

Sooyoung turned her back from him and started walking to her room with Baekhyun trailing behind her.

Scratch the word like. He is in love with her.

Baekhyun went out of the car to carry Sooyoung inside her home, who hardly could keep her eyes open. It was a good thing that the Park's house is bungalow type, her room was just near the foyer.

She was heavy indeed but nonetheless, Baekhyun thought it was worth it to take care of her. He gently lay her down and cover her with a blanket. She was sleeping soundly.

Baekhyun stared at her intently and smiled to himself. He really left Chanyeol's party and Suzy's innuendos the moment he received Seulgi's text asking him to take Sooyoung home.

Sooyoung really knows how to get him and she is not even aware of it.

So with all of his strength and rationale, he pulled away from her. He went out of her room without looking back.

Baekhyun finally held her wrist and stopped her from tending his almost bruised cheek. "I think I'm okay now. Let me take it from here."

Sooyoung didn't listen to him and just let him hold her wrist, still taking care of his reddening cheek. "Is it true that you have someone?"

"Bakit mo naman natanong?"

She shrugged. "Wala lang. I'm curious."

"Yes. It's true... There's always someone."

She stopped from what she was doing and crossed her arms again, mouth gaping. "And here you are flirting with me tapos meron ka pa lang someone?!"

Is she really furious?

Baekhyun laughed and shook his head. God, he loves Sooyoung so much that he is running out of ideas to make sure she will love him back.

Maybe it's time for him to man up and swallow the fear of rejection.

He finally heaved out a sigh and looked at her intently. "Sooyoung... It is always you."

She stared at him as if she is calculating his next move before nervously chuckling. "N-nice try, Baekhyun."

Baekhyun sighed. Here goes nothing.

He tucked Sooyoung's loose strand of hair behind her ears and stared directly into her eyes. He could feel her hands trembling so he hold it tightly. "Why did you kiss me that night, Sooyoung?"

She was silent for a second before answering him. "Maybe... Maybe because I have a little crush on you even before and I was drunk and heartbroken and I'm talking nonsense here."

She tried to pulled her hand away out of frustration but he still held it.

"Ikaw kasi. You were never serious kahit no'ng mga bata pa tayo," she continued.

Baekhyun tried to suppress his smile. At least, his hard work all these years pay off. The woman he is in love with finally noticed him.

"What if I'm serious about you?"

"No, you're not."

"Sooyoung, I never had a stable girlfriend because of you. I always rushed towards you the moment na iwan ka ng mga ex-boyfriends mo. Whether I'm on a blind date or not, I was always ready to pick you up when you get drunk and at least be that constant annoying childhood friend kahit ba alam kong I only have 1% chance."

It was his turn to be frustrated after confessing his heart out to her. He just hoped that the next words he would say will make her believe him.

"I love you for so long now. And I never said those words to anybody. Sa'yo lang. This is not the first time I got slapped in the face just because I told those girls that there's always someone."

Baekhyun noticed she was almost teary-eyed after that heartfelt confession. So he caressed her cheeks and wiped with his thumb the tear that fell off.

"How dare you to confess like that and not kiss me," Sooyoung said.

He chuckled at how cute she was before closing the gap between their faces.

He kissed her as if to let her know that he was always yearning for her. And she returned his kisses with the same passion.

Sooyoung deepened their kiss before pulling away to breathe. "Don't break my heart, Baekhyun."

"I won't. Hindi ako nagpapansin sayo para lang masayang lahat ng efforts ko." He said to her before kissing her again.

She smiled between their kisses and Baekhyun finally felt complete.

Sooyoung slammed the door shut. "What was that?"

She smiled when she remembered she still have that pink bear. She was deeply touched when Baekhyun gave that stuffed toy to her. The bear symbolizes that Baekhyun is someone she would keep for the rest of her life.

She might have not know it back then what was Baekhyun's significance to her life, but she surely knows now that she wouldn't let go of him.

"I still have that bear with me. Ayun lang matino mong ginawa at binigay sakin eh."

Baekhyun pouted at her. "Ang sungit mo pa rin sakin."

She quickly kissed his pouted lips. "That's my love language to you."

He caressed her cheeks with the back of his palm and stared straight into her eyes. "I love you, Sooyoung. And let me prove to you everyday that eveything we have right now is so worth it."

"I love you too. And I will love you more. Pinagdasal mo siguro iwan ako ng mga ex ko para sayo ang uwi ko," she teased him.

"Ganoon na nga."

Baekhyun kissed her again passionately. His lips showered kisses to her collarbone and Sooyoung let out a small moan.

"Let's skip breakfast?" she asked him.

He gazed at her and bit his lip. "Definitely."
