This is a nothingburger complaint but whatever
I keep seeing this comment on how we don't know anything about the father in Chobits and that somehow proves that Clamp refuses to actually tell a dark story or dedicate any thought to the points they are writing.
Did anyone ever consider like at any point that perhaps this means that the perpetrator is not the father? Sure daddy dearest was a fucked up god damn weirdo creating what he did but you know who sticks around and continues the abuse?
Chitose.
Who is the one who purposfully keeps Chii in the dark, lies directly to her and Hideki's face, yet obsessivly hangs in the background making sure she has a hand on everything Chii does?
Chitose
Chitose is not a fucking victim here she is the problem. But she infantilizes herself, Chii, and Freya in order to justify her obsession with the sexual purity of her child.
She treats Chii like this little barbie doll that she quite literally threw in the garbage for someone else to take up the mantle of actually taking care of while she can just play dress up.
This is an absolute bare bones like overview but you can really tell who has 1. consumed chobits with any critical capacity at all and 2. Who doesn't have some type of trauma due to their mothers through these little think pieces.
One day we will reach a society where we will stop assuming women can not be the perpetrators of abuse and violence. I hope.
#theres a reason I feel so deeply connected to Chii#and seeing people obsess over a character who is mentioned borderline as a background character#when the actual core of the abuse is Chii's fucking next door neighbor#not even commenting on how Chitose made sure to keep a power dynamic with whoever found Chii#Making sure Chii would be found realistically by someone who lived in her apartment buyilding thus making her their “mom”#the woman is fucking disgusting

Another attempt at the wolf
Here I started outlining the body of the character, mapping out where I want certain areas I want to go such the eyes. I still wanted to use the same colours that I had previously if adapted a little. I do think that before they were a little too saturated and brought away a lot of the attention from the main character. This is not something that I want to do, so I feel that making the character a lot whiter may help with this.
I started using the same technique that I had done for the first attempt in terms of scribbles. I liked this as it replicated fur and also allowed me to place colour down easily. I also added the leg which I wanted to poke out of the rock a little.
I then started focusing more on the back of the coyote. I wanted to get this right so then i could buyild upon and compare the face to. I didnt want to face to be too desaturated.
I then decided to add the sky back so I could start to blend the surroundings into the character. I wanted a lot more softer effect in the fur so using the surrounding colours did a good job in this aspect.
I then started work on the face of the character. I think honestly this is what ruined the character a bit as I feel it is too human like and almost breches the uncanny valley.
