This is a jewish tombstone
from a small hungarian village, Tuzsér. It is standing in the middle of litter, as the place of the jewish cemetery is nowadays used as a garbage dump.
Tumblr media
When I found this place, I knew I should include it in the zine that we created on the Art of Abandoned Jewish Cemeteries of Hungary, since we wanted to raise attention to the sad state of jewish cemeteries of the country. As it is visible by the blessing hands symbol, this tombstone belongs to a kohanite person, who is a descendant just like all other kohanites, of the high priests of the Temple.
What we can read at the tombstone is just a short line, which says Here lies the elderly Yehuda, son of Cvi Ha-kohen, died in 1906.
This is how it ended up eventually in the Art of Abandoned Jewish Cemeteries zine, the symbol was reproduced with lino cut and the surrounding text explains the symbols and share a bit about the history of the community of Tuzsér:

If you wanna support our project to preserve the memory of the former jewish communities of the hungarian countryside along with the cemeteries themselves, you can order from the zine here:

Griselda Oreolo - a vampire origin story in 5 parts (I-II-III-IV-V) a Venetian Aristocrat vampire for @thebramblewood
Transcript
unknown woman: [quiet sobbing]
unknown woman: Riposa in pace, Giovanni. (Rest in peace, Giovanni)
Griselda: As I left the crypt, the sweetest scent I had ever smelled drifted over to me and I couldn't help but follow it.
Strangely, I felt an ache deep inside me, something akin to hunger yet so much worse.
unknown woman: [shocked gasp]
Griselda: When I found the source of the heavenly scent, that clouded my thoughts, I stared at it in a daze. It was a woman, who smelled so delicious I wanted to sink my teeth into her neck.
For a split second, I realised what horrendous thoughts I was having, but then the monster inside me took over and only one thought echoed in my mind: I needed to feed.
[to be continued]

«i had a dream about my funeral tonight» carlo after moretti's murder, who sometimes wonders if the same fate will befall him
Tumblr media Tumblr media
«I sullied my youth with the most vulgar of dreams: In black cars that look like big turtles Shouting out over other people's thoughts in their skulls I'll have a dream about my funeral The bitter rubber of drunken saliva stretches and stretches, a stubborn thread And it ends, thinning When it ends, I'll be gone too Find me, find me, find me under the fence Eyes, eyes, eyelids, lips Black flame» ^ won't link the song but here's the other one that may fit the mood i guess. anyway it's a good song
«Dad, the kids are out in the yard They're burying a bird Not a pigeon or a tit Dad, give me two rubles I'll throw it in the pit Dad, we're family Don't be dramatic
Dad, my collarbone's been hurting all morning Somewhere in the middle of the yard There's a bird buried Dad, give me some milk I'll pour it in the pit»

Thrilled to say my short horror story Kirkegrim will appear on the Creepy Podcast! @creepypod Release TBA
A murderess encounters a graveyard's spectral guardian dog.
Mallory’s hands, held out by instinct to arrest her fall, sunk into the damp forest soil. Mallory scrambled up and away from the body, but her skirt caught onto something, and she fell again, this time landing next to Annette in the dirt. Their faces were turned toward each other as they lay there, and Mallory could see Annette was dead. She was dead. Which made it impossible that the thing holding onto Mallory’s skirt was not a tree branch, but Annette’s hand, the fingers blanched white with how strongly they gripped.
Meanwhile, check out the podcast!

Gracie just reminded me of when I was in Scotland, I was walking in the very pretty cemetery and petting some dogs I’d just met and talking to their owners, and one asked me what I was studying, and when I told her “gothic lit”, she said “oh, that explains why you’re hanging around here then”
like. MA’AM sldjsbdbdb. and she’s not WRONG I do love a cemetery
