Say 'I Do' to the Perfect Wedding Venue: A Step-by-Step Guide to Choosing the Right Venue for Your Budget
Planning a wedding is an exciting and joyous time in your life, but it can also be overwhelming with so many decisions to make. One of the most important choices you'll need to make is selecting the perfect wedding venue. The venue sets the tone for your special day and plays a significant role in creating the atmosphere you desire. From elegant ballrooms to rustic barns, there are countless options available, and finding the right one that suits your budget can be a challenge. In this step-by-step guide, we'll walk you through the process of choosing a wedding venue that fits your vision and won't break the bank.
Tumblr media
1. Defining Your Vision and Budget
Before you begin your search for a wedding venue, take the time to define your vision. Consider the style, ambiance, and overall theme you envision for your wedding day. Are you dreaming of a romantic outdoor ceremony or a grand indoor celebration? Understanding your preferences will help you narrow down your options.
Next, establish a realistic budget for your wedding venue. Determine how much you are willing to allocate for the venue alone. Keep in mind that your budget should also include other essential elements such as catering, decorations, and entertainment. By setting a clear budget from the start, you can avoid falling in love with venues that are beyond your financial reach.
2. Researching and Shortlisting Venues
Once you have a clear vision and budget in mind, it's time to start researching potential wedding venues. Begin by conducting an online search using keywords like "how to choose a wedding venue" and your location. This will provide you with a list of venues in your area that match your criteria.
Visit the websites of each venue to gather information about their offerings, capacity, pricing, and availability. Look for testimonials or reviews from past clients to get a sense of their experiences. Create a shortlist of venues that align with your vision, budget, and overall requirements.
3. Visiting and Evaluating Venues
Now that you have your shortlist, it's time to visit each venue in person. Schedule appointments with the venue coordinators or event managers to tour the facilities. Take note of the venue's aesthetics, including the architecture, decor, and landscaping. Visualize how your wedding would look in that space and consider if it matches your vision.
During the visit, ask questions about the venue's policies, restrictions, and additional services they offer. Inquire about the availability of preferred vendors, such as caterers or decorators, and whether there are any additional costs associated with them. It's important to understand all the details and potential expenses before making a final decision.
4. Considering Practicalities and Amenities
In addition to the aesthetics, it's crucial to consider the practicalities and amenities offered by each venue. Evaluate the capacity of the venue to ensure it can comfortably accommodate your guest list. Take note of the parking facilities, accessibility for elderly or disabled guests, and proximity to hotels or accommodations for out-of-town visitors.
Furthermore, inquire about the services and amenities included in the venue package. Some venues provide tables, chairs, linens, and even on-site coordination services. These inclusions can save you both time and money, so be sure to weigh their value when comparing venues.
5. Comparing Costs and Finalizing Your Decision
Once you have gathered all the necessary information, it's time to compare the costs associated with each venue. Take into account the rental fee, any additional services or amenities you may require, and any hidden costs such as taxes or gratuities. Create a spreadsheet or document to organize and compare all the relevant details.
Consider the overall value offered by each venue in terms of what you get for your money. Does one venue provide extra services or amenities that make it worth the higher price? Evaluate the overall package and determine which venue offers the best combination of value, quality, and alignment with your vision.
Choosing the perfect wedding venue is an emotional decision. It's where you'll exchange vows, create cherished memories, and celebrate with your loved ones. As you review your options, imagine yourself walking down the aisle, surrounded by the beauty and ambiance of each venue. Picture your guests laughing and dancing the night away, immersed in the enchantment of your chosen space.
Remember, your wedding venue should not only be visually appealing but should also evoke the emotions and feelings you desire for your special day. Whether it's a romantic garden, a glamorous ballroom, or a charming rustic barn, the venue should resonate with your personal style and reflect the love and commitment you and your partner share.
As you near the final stages of your decision-making process, don't be afraid to trust your instincts and listen to your heart. Your intuition will guide you towards the venue that feels right—a place where you can envision the beginning of your lifelong journey together.
Choosing the right wedding venue is a significant step in creating the wedding of your dreams. By defining your vision and budget, researching and shortlisting venues, visiting and evaluating each option, considering practicalities and amenities, and comparing costs, you'll be well-equipped to make an informed decision.
Remember, this is your day, and the venue should speak to your unique love story. Allow yourself to be captivated by the possibilities, embrace the emotions that arise during the selection process, and trust that you will find the perfect wedding venue that surpasses your expectations.
As you embark on this exciting journey, keep in mind that the right venue is not just a backdrop but an essential element that sets the stage for a memorable celebration. Update: Extending the Starlight Initiative to the Materia (OCE) Data Center!
Hello! The Starlight Initiative has been working as best it can this year in preparation for the events coming up!
First things first, we are not moving the event solely to the Oceanic server! The main events will still be on the North American Data Center of Crystal -> Mateus @ Ward 9, Plot 42 of Empyreum.
We have been reached out to and generously granted permission to use a plot on OCE for the Starlight Initiative to extend our reach to every Data Center from a friend. People will be able to come to Ravana's Mist, Ward 22, Plot 1 to engage in the Starlight Initiative's Weekend of Gift Giving!
We, admittedly, do not have people who have schedules that are more fit for the Oceanic side of things, though we will do our absolute best in doing what we can. If anyone would like to volunteer for the Starlight Initiative's event for those on and / or visiting the OCE server, we would most certainly welcome the help with open arms! :>
We understand that this is also a pretty late update, though we hope that with slightly less than two weeks before the main event, this will be enough time to give the heads up!
Of course, the Starlight Initiative is still -- and will always -- accept whatever help we can get! If you're interested in volunteering as an artist, writer, GPoser, raider, or general volunteer, please reach out! You can also find more information on our carrd, and resources on our Discord!

With the Rock Lee tag more active, I just wanted to clear something up: Leevember is not an official event. It’s something I started as a personal challenge 4 years ago, when my Rock Lee obsession began lmao.
There are no prompts. Just do what you can and tag it #leevember if you’re so inclined. Have fun. 🫡
There is a Rock Lee week that has prompts and takes over a course of a week (leading up to Lee’s birthday!). It’s less taxing than committing to a whole month and helpful if you need prompts for inspiration.

Since Chappell Roan is in the spotlight right now, I want to share an article from my college’s newspaper about her decision to donate a portion of her tour’s ticket sales to our local GLO Center to support queer advocacy and access to resources.
I don’t have a lot to say about this other than I am once again very proud of her, and I think her success is well-earned. I’m proud to be a queer Missourian from the same neck of the woods as Chappell is.

How to Transform Any Event Space Into Your Dream Wedding Venue
Tumblr media
Your wedding day is one of the most special and memorable events in your life. Every couple wants their big day to be perfect, and the wedding venue plays a crucial role in making that happen. The wedding venue sets the tone for the entire event, and finding the right one can be a daunting task. But what if we told you that you could transform any event space into your dream wedding venue? Yes, you read that right. With a little creativity and planning, you can turn any space into the wedding venue of your dreams.
Section 1: Finding the Perfect Space
The first step in transforming any event space into your dream wedding venue is finding the perfect space. You can start by looking at traditional wedding venues such as hotels, banquet halls, and country clubs. However, don't limit yourself to these options. Consider non-traditional spaces such as museums, art galleries, and outdoor spaces like parks and gardens. The possibilities are endless.
Subheading 1: Assess the Space
Once you have a list of potential wedding venues, assess each space to determine if it meets your needs. Look at the size of the space, the layout, and the overall ambiance. Consider the time of day and season when you plan to have your wedding. The lighting, temperature, and weather can all affect the ambiance of the space.
Subheading 2: Decorate the Space
The key to transforming any event space into your dream wedding venue is decorating the space. Think about the style and theme of your wedding and choose decorations that reflect that. If you're going for a rustic theme, consider using wooden accents and earthy tones. If you want a more glamorous wedding, incorporate metallic accents and luxurious fabrics. Flowers and greenery are also a great way to add color and life to any space.
Section 2: Set the Mood with Lighting
Lighting can make or break the ambiance of a space. It's crucial to choose the right lighting to set the mood for your wedding. If you're having an outdoor wedding, consider using string lights or lanterns to create a warm and inviting atmosphere. For indoor weddings, consider using uplighting to highlight architectural features or create a dramatic effect.
Section 3: Personalize Your Wedding Venue
Personalization is key to making any wedding venue feel like your own. Consider incorporating personal touches throughout the space. This could be as simple as adding photos of you and your partner or incorporating your favorite colors into the decor. You could also incorporate cultural elements or family traditions to make the space feel more personal.
Section 4: Work with Professionals
Transforming any event space into your dream wedding venue requires a lot of planning and coordination. It's essential to work with professionals to ensure that everything runs smoothly on your big day. Consider hiring a wedding planner, decorator, and lighting specialist to help bring your vision to life.
Section 5: Additional Tips for Transforming Your Wedding Venue
While the previous sections covered the essential steps to transform any event space into your dream wedding venue, here are a few additional tips to ensure your big day is perfect.
Subheading 1: Don't Neglect the Sound
Sound can have a significant impact on the ambiance of your wedding venue. Consider hiring a professional sound technician to ensure that the music and speeches are heard clearly. They can also help you choose the right sound equipment and ensure that everything is set up correctly.
Subheading 2: Use Signage to Guide Your Guests
Creating signs to guide your guests to the ceremony, reception, and other important areas can be incredibly helpful. Not only does it help prevent confusion, but it can also add a personal touch to your wedding venue.
Subheading 3: Consider the Comfort of Your Guests
You want your guests to be comfortable and enjoy themselves at your wedding. Consider providing amenities such as fans, heaters, or umbrellas, depending on the season and location of your wedding venue. You could also offer snacks or beverages during the ceremony or reception to keep your guests refreshed and happy.
Section 6: Budgeting for Your Dream Wedding Venue
Transforming any event space into your dream wedding venue can be expensive. It's essential to create a budget and stick to it to avoid overspending. Here are a few tips for budgeting your dream wedding venue.
Subheading 1: Prioritize Your Must-Haves
Make a list of your must-haves for your dream wedding venue. This could be anything from a particular location to specific decor items. Prioritize these items in your budget to ensure that you get what you want.
Subheading 2: Consider Alternatives
If you find that some of your must-haves are too expensive, consider alternatives that are within your budget. For example, if you can't afford expensive flowers, consider using less expensive ones or using more greenery to create a similar effect.
Subheading 3: Don't Forget Hidden Costs
There are often hidden costs associated with transforming any event space into your dream wedding venue. These can include things like taxes, gratuities, and delivery fees. Be sure to account for these costs in your budget to avoid any surprises later on.
Section 7: Conclusion
transforming any event space into your dream wedding venue is a challenging task, but it's possible with careful planning and budgeting. Remember to find the perfect space, decorate it to reflect your style, set the mood with lighting, personalize it with personal touches, work with professionals, and consider the comfort of your guests. By following these tips, you can create a wedding venue that is truly unique and reflects your personality as a couple.
However, it's essential to remember that the most important thing about your wedding day is the love you share with your partner. No matter where you get married, as long as you're with the person you love, it will be a day to remember for the rest of your life.

The Starlight Initiative Presents: A Weekend of Gift Giving!
Tumblr media
Hello there, and happy holidays to you and yours!
The Starlight Initiative is here, and we would like to invite you to join us in Mateus on the Crystal Data Center from December 8th thru the 10th! On that particular weekend from 6 PM - 11 PM Central time each night, you are invited to come over and ask us and our wonderful Little Helpers for something you'd like this Starlight Celebration! The main events will be taking place at the Starry Garden in Empyreum, Ward 9, Plot 42!
More information as well as a Discord link under the cut!
No worries if you can't make those specific times! Feel free to inform us of any time concerns you have, and we'll make a personal delivery at a time that is good for you!
If you would like to join our Discord for more information, or even to volunteer your own time and efforts, you can find the link here! Note that raffles for our high-value items (5 mil gil+ items) will be held here so that we can coordinate how best to get winners their prizes! Otherwise, we are willing to answer any and all questions you may have through the Ask system, in-game if you see us, or through Messages!
We have crafters, gatherers, people who are eager to run content, and more who have all generously donated their time for those that would like something they've been looking forward to this year. We also have a great many things stockpiled ready to distribute for those that are looking for such things.
This is our very first year holding such an event, and we're all very excited to fulfil just about any wishes that you might have! Due to this being our first year, we do have some requests for people to please bear in mind:
Keep your wishes limited to three per person if you could, please!
Make sure that what you're asking for is tradable or can be farmed! We do have people willing to help farm for some stuff up to a point. We're not confident enough this year to say we have dedicated raiders to help with Endwalker and most Shadowbringer farms, but we can certainly do our best to have a space where you can coordinate these efforts with the help of those that we have that are confident enough to do so!
Be sure not to ask for things that may cost more than 5 million gil -- much as we would love to gift you something that is that price and more, we don't want to stretch our funds immediately across everyone who has been willing to donate gil. Hopefully next year, we can truly be able to gift anything at any time!
We are always looking for volunteers or donors that are willing to contribute to the event in any capacity if you're feeling generous! ^_^
We look very forward to seeing you, and answering any questions or concerns!

"Fears that Nebraska’s annual spring migration of sandhill cranes could be the avian equivalent of a “superspreader” event have been completely abated, as a record-setting stopover in Nebraska of thousands of birds was enjoyed without any sign of a bird flu outbreak.
Three-quarters of a million cranes migrating north to their spring habitat landed in the Platte River in Nebraska. The number is deemed an underestimation, but you try counting more than 700,000 birds.
Fears that the highly contagious new strain of bird flu H5N1 could carry over to the cranes from livestock have been assuaged as the birds are beginning to move off again without a single dead crane being observed, local news reports.
Aside from the mini celebration of bird flu’s absence, the real celebration—that this year was the largest on-record for the sandhill crane migration—can begin.
The official estimate of 738,000 animals was made during aerial surveys by the Crane Trust, a nonprofit whose raison d’etre is to protect these magnificent birds and this unforgettable spectacle.

Pictured: Crane migration in Nebraska
These cranes have been visiting an 80-mile-long stretch of the Platte River, braided in some sections, for 9 million years, which these days lies between the towns of Chapman and Overton, Nebraska.
“What makes the central Platte River valley attractive to sandhill cranes is the river that we help manage,” says Matt Urbanski, a spokesman for the Crane Trust, to KSNB’s Madison Smith. “We will make sure that there’s not a ton of vegetation choking the river out. We’ll make sure that it can widen, so the sandhill cranes have six to eight inches of water to sit in during the nighttime.”
The sandhill crane stands between 3 and 4 feet tall, and is easily identifiable for its crown of red feathers and their rattling bugle-like call. It is one of only 2 species of crane that live in North America...
Interestingly, though the cranes have visited this site for eons, they did so even before there was a river there. Additionally, they now spend much of their time feeding on spare corn kernels leftover from nearby harvests, and spend the night standing in the water where they’re safe from predators.
Arrivals and departures are staggered over several weeks, but at peak stopover, it’s one of the great sights of natural America.
“There is nothing else like it in the world,” says Marcos Stoltzfus, director of the Iain Nicolson Audubon Center at Rowe Sanctuary in Gibbon, Nebraska, to News Channel Nebraska."

5 Unpredictable Things Swift Has Studied (and 1 It’s Still Looking For)
Our Neil Gehrels Swift Observatory — Swift for short — is celebrating its 20th anniversary! The satellite studies cosmic objects and events using visible, ultraviolet, X-ray, and gamma-ray light. Swift plays a key role in our efforts to observe our ever-changing universe. Here are a few cosmic surprises Swift has caught over the years — plus one scientists hope to see.
Tumblr media
#BOAT
Swift was designed to detect and study gamma-ray bursts, the most powerful explosions in the universe. These bursts occur all over the sky without warning, with about one a day detected on average. They also usually last less than a minute – sometimes less than a few seconds – so you need a telescope like Swift that can quickly spot and precisely locate these new events.
In the fall of 2022, for example, Swift helped study a gamma-ray burst nicknamed the BOAT, or brightest of all time. The image above depicts X-rays Swift detected for 12 days after the initial flash. Dust in our galaxy scattered the X-ray light back to us, creating an extraordinary set of expanding rings.
Tumblr media
Star meets black hole
Tidal disruptions happen when an unlucky star strays too close to a black hole. Gravitational forces break the star apart into a stream of gas, as seen above. Some of the gas escapes, but some swings back around the black hole and creates a disk of debris that orbits around it.
These events are rare. They only occur once every 10,000 to 100,000 years in a galaxy the size of our Milky Way. Astronomers can’t predict when or where they’ll pop up, but Swift’s quick reflexes have helped it observe several tidal disruption events in other galaxies over its 20-year career.
Tumblr media
Active galaxies
Usually, we think of galaxies – and most other things in the universe – as changing so slowly that we can’t see the changes. But about 10% of the universe’s galaxies are active, which means their black hole-powered centers are very bright and have a lot going on. They can produce high-speed particle jets or flares of light. Sometimes scientists can catch and watch these real-time changes.
For example, for several years starting in 2018, Swift and other telescopes observed changes in a galaxy’s X-ray and ultraviolet light that led them to think the galaxy’s magnetic field had flipped 180 degrees.
Tumblr media
Magnetic star remnants
Magnetars are a type of neutron star, a very dense leftover of a massive star that exploded in a supernova. Magnetars have the strongest magnetic fields we know of — up to 10 trillion times more intense than a refrigerator magnet and a thousand times stronger than a typical neutron star’s.
Occasionally, magnetars experience outbursts related to sudden changes in their magnetic fields that can last for months or even years. Swift detected such an outburst from a magnetar in 2020. The satellite’s X-ray observations helped scientists determine that the city-sized object was rotating once every 10.4 seconds.
Tumblr media
Comets
Swift has also studied comets in our own solar system. Comets are town-sized snowballs of frozen gases, rock, and dust. When one gets close to our Sun, it heats up and spews dust and gases into a giant glowing halo.
In 2019, Swift watched a comet called 2I/Borisov. Using ultraviolet light, scientists calculated that Borisov lost enough water to fill 92 Olympic-size swimming pools! (Another interesting fact about Borisov: Astronomers think it came from outside our solar system.)
Tumblr media
What's next for Swift?
Swift has studied a lot of cool events and objects over its two decades, but there are still a few events scientists are hoping it’ll see.
Swift is an important part of a new era of astrophysics called multimessenger astronomy, which is where scientists use light, particles, and space-time ripples called gravitational waves to study different aspects of cosmic events.
Tumblr media
In 2017, Swift and other observatories detected light and gravitational waves from the same event, a gamma-ray burst, for the first time. But what astronomers really want is to detect all three messengers from the same event.
As Swift enters its 20th year, it’ll keep watching the ever-changing sky.
Keep up with Swift through NASA Universe on X, Facebook, and Instagram. And make sure to follow us on Tumblr for your regular dose of space!

if you love Christmas but also want to be kind and inclusive toward people who don't, or simply don't celebrate, here's my #1 tip.
stop lying about Christmas.
if the only "holiday" your holiday party includes is Christmas, call it a Christmas party.
if your "holiday" fandom event only uses Santa and Christmas graphics and is centered around the date of Christmas, call it a Christmas event (that is, presumably, open to non Christmas-celebrating fans).
if your "holiday" fic recs only contain Christmas fic, call it a Christmas rec list.

sidelines - op81
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
In which: Oscar sits on the sidelines and watches as you cycle through terrible dates until he’s had enough and can’t stand by any longer.
pairing: Oscar Piastri x reader
Warnings: implied smut but no actual smut (it does get a bit heated though), bit of angst if you could call it that
۶ৎ ۶ৎ ۶ৎ
You’d rather be anywhere else.
The guy in front of you continued to talk about himself. You were only half-listening, giving uninterested hums every now and then. Given that he still hasn’t noticed, it was safe to say this was yet another shitty date.
It became a shitty date pretty quick, actually. Only about ten minutes after you sat down, you realized it was another waste of a Friday night. He hasn’t asked you a single question in the hour you’ve been sitting at the restaurant,
Most of the time, your mind had been on Oscar.
The McLaren driver lived next door to you. He introduced himself a year ago when he moved in. Ever since, you’ve clicked. He became your best friend very quickly.
In anticipation that you would come back with another date night horror story, he planned a movie night to make you feel better.
“…and I’ve been getting into formula one.”
This time, your hum was very much interested. You sat up. “Really? Isn’t it such an interesting sport?” You sat forward in attention.
“It’s crazy how their engines only last five races.” He commented.
You cocked your head to the side. “Hm? They last more than that. At least 6. 5 would be like if someone didn’t take care of their engine.” You laughed to lessen the blow of the correction.
He laughed to mock you.
“No. They only last five races. Trust me, hon.”
۶ৎ
Oscar jumped when you entered his apartment, slamming the door. He’d accidentally fallen asleep waiting for you.
“Oh my god! I cant do it anymore! Oscar-“ you stopped short, witnessing his messy hair and tired eyes. “I’m sorry. You were sleeping.” You frowned, pointing out the obvious.
Oscar smiled, scooting over to make room for you and he patted the couch next to him. “Doesn’t matter. I wanna hear about this tragic date.” He joked.
He knew you came straight from it. You were still in your little black dress, but your heels were given up in favor of more comfortable sandals which you kicked off at the door.
You took up his offer, lying with your head in his lap. “So fucking stupid, guys are.” You huffed, then made contact with Oscar’s amused and pitying eyes. “Not you. You’re an exception.” You smiled.
“So what was it this time?” His hand found your arm, his thumb gliding over the sleeves of your dress.
“He just talked about himself the entire fucking time. He didn’t even ask me a single question about me. It was all about him.” You seethed. “Oh! And he tried to correct me about how long your car’s engine lasts.” You laughed bitterly at the memory. “Self-centered dick, honestly.” You muttered, playing with the ring on your index finger.
Oscar squeezed your arm. “I’m sorry this one didn’t work out either.” He said with full sincerity. Though he didn’t really mean it. Of course, he was sorry that she had to endure such shitty men, but he wasn’t sorry that she hadn’t found one she liked.
It meant she was still single. Still available for whenever Oscar got the balls to make a move.
A couple months ago, he asked Lando how to make a move. He laughed when Oscar told him that it was his next door neighbor that he was eyeing. Knowing you weren’t even close to being considered a celebrity—you were an event planner—Lando said simply, “You’re a Formula one driver. If that doesn’t win her over, I don’t know what will.”
Even so, you were you. Not to mention that he was terrified of becoming another one of your horror stories.
A frown played on your lips. “I think I should just give up.” You mumbled.
“Hey,” Oscar started, lifting your chin, causing you to look up at him. “Don’t say that. The perfect guy is out there somewhere.”
You scowled. “I think it’s your fault.” You accused.
He blinked. “Why do you say that?”
You sat up and stared at him with wild eyes. “‘Cause you’re perfect. You listen. You ask me about my life and not just talk about yourself. You’re so fucking sweet and kind and funny and it’s so infuriating because I’m forever comparing people to you now, and if you didn’t introduce yourself when you moved in then it wouldn’t be such a problem. Then I could settle for some duche just for the sake of dating someone.” You rambled, crazed gestures with your hands. You nearly hit him in the head at one point.
And after all that, all Oscar could offer was a very confused, “sorry,” because he couldn’t stop thinking about how you described him.
Sweet, kind, funny. You compared other guys to him.
He confessed this to Lando the next time they saw each other.
“Mate! Make your move already! She so obviously likes you!” The curly haired brit exclaimed.
But Oscar still wasn’t sure. “I don’t think so. I think she meant it in a friendly way.”
“Oscar, she is literally using you to set the bar for her dates. I don’t know how much more obvious this can get.” He replied, a thick layer of annoyance to his voice.
Oscar sighed, self doubt creeping through. “But she-“
Lando groaned. “Oh my god, if you don’t make your move, you’re going to lose her anyway.”
۶ৎ
You’re going to lose her.
Lando’s words rung through Oscar’s ears.
He was sat on the couch with your body pressed up against his side and your head on his shoulder. He observed your relaxed face, unaware that you could see it in your peripheral vision.
Inclining your head to look at him, you raised a brow. “Everything okay?” Your soft voice, so concerned.
It brought a small, warm smile to his face. “Mhm.” He hummed, nodding.
A smile creeped up on your own lips. “Okay.” Your hand snaked down his arm, lacing your fingers together. The warmth of his hand, just slightly bigger than your own, brought comfort. “If you’re sure.” You turned to face the television once more.
The silence was only short before Oscar spoke up. “When’s your next date?” He paused, continuing when you looked up at him once more, a spark of hope in your eyes that he didn’t pick up on in the dim lighting of the room. “Just so I can stock up on ice cream.” His words, unknowingly, blew out the spark.
“I don’t know.” A deep sigh. “I know I’ve said it before, but I really think I’m giving up this time.”
Oscar said nothing. He’d wanted to tell you that was a great idea, but perhaps it wasn’t right.
“Can I use your shower?” You asked.
Oscar blinked, thrown off by the change of topic. He knew you liked his shower better than your own. His had an upgraded shower head. “Yeah. That’s fine. Do you want to borrow some clothes or-“
“Yeah sure.” You smiled. “Your hoodies are more comfortable anyway.” You commented as he walked away.
While you showered, Oscar remained on the couch, unable to tune out your humming to a song stuck in your head. Not that he minded. It was quite a comforting sound, but he felt a bit creepy listening to you shower.
When you returned to the living room about twenty minutes later, Oscar was thankful the room was near pitch black. His face was on fire seeing you in his hoodie, and it only got worse when you cuddled back up next to him.
And something else popped up, too.
Eyes squeezed shut, he tried his best to will it away, thinking about anything else. That was impossible when he could feel your hot breath on his neck, and when his nose was being invaded by the sweet scent of your shampoo—because he made sure it was always available to you whenever you felt like stealing his shower.
Christ, he was going insane. He couldn’t even tell you what the movie was about if you asked him.
He could only pray you wouldn’t notice.
And you didn’t, because you’d fallen asleep in his arms, and he hadn’t noticed until an hour later until the movie’s credits began to roll.
He shook your shoulder. “Hey, movie is over. You wanna stay here? Or go back to your own? Whatever you want is fine for me?”
You stretched and groaned. “Should probably go back.” You mumbled and stood. You stretched once more to wake yourself up.
“I’ll see you tomorrow?” You gave him a tired smile that softened his heart.
“Yeah.”
You got two steps before your movements were inhibited.
A hand around your waist, yanking you backwards. And then a pair of soft, warm lips on yours.
Taken by surprise, you hummed against his lips. Oscar being Oscar, took it the wrong way.
He pulled away, started stumbling over his words, backed up, stared at the floor in shame. “I’m- I’m so sorry. I should have-“
“I’m shocked it took you that long.” You scoffed, pulling him back into you and kissing him hard. All that built up tension bursted open, shifting the atmosphere in a complete 180.
His arm snaked around your back and pulled you flush with his chest. You gasped when you felt his semi-hard pushing against your leg.
The both of you tumbled down onto the couch with you landing on top, Oscar’s hands landing on your waist. Oscar groaned when your clothed core brushed the tent in his pants.
You whispered out a curse.
Oscar took control, gripping your hips and forcing you to brush against his growing tent once more.
“If I knew you wanted me this bad, I would’ve done something about it sooner.” You panted into his mouth. “Get me out of these clothes already.” You kissed him again, addicted to the taste of his lips.
He pulled back. “This isn’t…“ he panted, unable to catch his breath. “This isn’t why I kissed you.”
“Oh I know,” you groaned, diving back in for another taste of his lips. “Makes you ten times hotter.” He swallowed your confession as you spoke it into his mouth.
He was losing it under you as you ground against him, fully clothed like two horny teenagers. His brain was going foggy, every thought of his centered around you.
Well, except for one. “Lando won’t believe it.” He muttered.
You stopped your ministrations, pulling back to stare at his blissed-out face. And you hadn’t even properly touched him. “Oscar.” Your voice demanded his focus.
He tried his best to focus on your face. He really did. But pleasure was overtaking his brain and his eyes were glossed over.
“Awe.” You clicked your tongue. “I was going to make fun of you for thinking about a man right now, but it seems not much thinking it going on in that pretty head of yours at all.” You teased while placing kisses all over his face and neck, running your hands along his chest underneath his shirt.
“Please.” He whispered.
Usually, Oscar wasn’t one to take on the submissive role. But boy was he down bad for you.
He felt your breathy chuckle against his neck and he gripped onto your hips harder. “Since you asked so nicely,” you tore off his shirt, ogling at his toned chest. “Fucking hell you’re fit.”
The compliment brought out his confidence and a sneaky grin. He didn’t even ask you before looping his hands around your knees and picking you up.
“Let’s take this somewhere more proper, yeah?” You melted under his husky, needy voice.
۶ৎ
“Oscah! You finally grew some balls!?” Lando greeted. Oscar and yourself were trying to kill time by hanging around the hospitality.
You furrowed your brows, looking between your best friend boyfriend and his teammate.
“And I suppose you’re going to take credit for it, too?” Oscar said, unenthused.
“Oh hell yeah.” Lando laughed. “If I remember, I’m the one who told you to go for it.” He pulled a chair up and sat with you guys.
It finally clicked. “Oh, that’s what you meant by ‘Lando won’t believe it’.”
Lando stared before filling in the context on his own. He turned to Oscar. “Mate.” He said, a tone that told him to be serious.
Now red in the face, Oscar took your hand. “Seems we have somewhere to be right now.” He dismissed, but Lando’s laughter followed you out of the hospitality.
