I think a big part of the reason ac* d*scrse makes me so goddamn anxious is the conviction exclsnsts seem to have? Like I don't buy into their conviction, sometimes I even think a lot of them only believe what they believe because they want to and they haven't thought it through, but they ACT like they're so goddamn righteous and they're arrogant but also loud and it's just...it's hard not to feel eroded by their confidence and hurt by their unkindness. And this is my reaction as an allo person who's not even directly effected by this shit in any way, so I can only imagine what it's like for a lot of aspec people.

I have a lot of both empathy and sympathy for the aspec community and its members. A lot of the first queer/rainbow/quiltbag people I met online were aspec and also super nice. Being exposed to quiltbag spaces on the NaNoWriMo YWP was a huuuuge part of what caused me to evolve from a vaguely homophobic conservative to a tentative 'ally' to a self aware queer girl. And back in those days, were we all a family: the gay kids, the bi kids, the ace and aro kids, the trans and nonbinary kids...at least that's how I remember it. I feel like in general, the aspec community are kinda like my siblings in this family (that is, ideally, how I'd feel about every subgroup here.) And I am a person with a lot of empathy and a lot of angry, protective, softhearted feelings. I want us all to get along. It tears me apart to see people in this community being shitty to each other.

Idk this is so rambly but I just. Sigh. People being mean can wear me tf down sometimes especially when it's happening to others.
