Fill it in - Gaston

➥ What is your character’s full name?: Gaston Legrand. The family name has been passed down for a few generations, though it was actually born from the fact that most of the men in the family are of a large stature.

➥ Do they have any brothers or sisters?: Yes Gaston has a younger brother and sister. His brother’s name is Soren and he currently despises and wishes for him to suffer in the Seventh Hell. His sister Amarante on the other hand will almost always forever be doted on by her older brother who has always looked after her. ➥ What kind of eyes do they have?: An almost ocean blue. While not necessarily dark in color his eyes often reflect his more inner and less spoken emotions giving them this almost conflicted but warm look.

➥ What kind of hair do they have?: Red, which of course has earned him the nickname of Ginger from Ethie and Red from Nariko. His hair normally appears rather messy and unkempt as he doesn’t pay too much attention to it aside from keeping it from getting any longer.

➥ What body type are they?: Due to a combination of wearing full plate while wielding a six fulm blade and working as a smith Gaston is extremely muscular for a Midlander. This of course makes it almost seem like he has Highlander blood in him due to standing on the taller side as well.

➥ What do they hate most about themselves?: That he can’t always protect everyone. It is probably one of his biggest faults that sends him into guilt trips quite often. When those around him and close to him get hurt he feels like he should have been able to do more than what he did to prevent that. This has been especially true for situations such us how the Masked Roses returned Kiri to the Pathfinders, or the fact that his sister is currently being held for something he did.

➥ Do they have a favourite quote?:  While he may not say it often if one prods enough about why he hides behind a smile this is the answer they will usually get:  "I've looked at the world for quite a few years now and I've found that if I don't laugh, I'll probably end up crying.

➥ What sort of music do they enjoy?:  Gaston loves all music. While he can’t play himself he enjoys hearing others play instruments and sing. He is partial to pieces on the piano and the harp. ➥ Have/would they ever cheat(ed) on a partner?: Gaston has neither cheated on a partner nor would he ever. Being no stranger to betrayal Gaston would never do such a thing to another. If it came to the point where it was becoming a possibility he would speak to his partner as well as the other person to resolve the situation without anything like that happening.

➥ Have they been cheated on by a partner?:  No, while his first partner wasn’t honest she did not actually cheat on him. ➥ Have they ever lost someone close to them?: Yes. Siohoix was the father of the two children he currently protects. Following his flight from Ishgard with the family the two became good friends. He was killed during a job in an attempt to protect Gaston. The death of Siohoix sent Gaston into a deep pit of despair which led to his eleven months spree of drinking and fighting in Ul’dah.

➥ What is their favourite sound?:  The sound of a hammer beating metal to shape it into something useful. ➥ Are they judgemental of others?:  No. Gaston normally remains neutral about people and not making decisions about them until he actually gets to know them. Unless they are delving into forbidden arts nothing really causes him to be truly judgemental. ➥ What are they like when they stay up all night?: This depends a lot on his mood at the time. A lack of sleep amplifies his mood greatly. If he is in a bad mood in such a situation then he is irritable and prone to lashing out at people, this is rare though. Normally he is in a good or neutral mood which results him in being rather silly, making terrible jokes, and even worse he laughs at just about everything. ➥ Have they ever been arrested?:  No. Despite being wanted for the murder of an inquisitor he has managed to avoid being arrested.

➥ What evokes strong memories for them?: Seeing children being threatened. The day he saved Rosette and Hisonne was probably one of the most defining moments in his life, and any time he sees a child being threatened in any way it immediately brings that memory back to him. ➥ What do they do on rainy days?:  Oddly enough he goes outside for a walk most of the time since he loves the rain. Though after that he spends the rest of the day inside by the fire to keep himself from getting sick. ➥ What religion are they?: Unlike most Ishgardians he is not a follower of the Halconic church due to what he witnessed from Inquisitors. It is because of that which has caused him to only lightly believe in the existence of the Twelve. In his opinion they are cruel overlords who do not care about the lives of men, though he normally won’t admit that. ➥ What word do they overuse the most?:  “Hells.” Gaston swears a lot, and during those times he normally in some way, shape, or form references the Seven Hells. ➥ What do they wear to bed?: At most he wears a pair of shorts, but more often than not it’s nothing at all. ➥ Do they have any tattoos or piercings?: No. ➥ What type of clothing are they most comfortable in?: Open and loose fitting clothes most of the time. Such as an open coat, a light t-shirt, his forge apron. Anything that helps him remain cool as he still isn’t really used to the heat. ➥ What is their most disliked food?:  Eel. After having tried Kiri’s Eel of remembrance he has come to the realization that there is food so terrible that he will not eat it. ➥ Do they have any enemies?: Quite a few. The top of the list right now being House Sheveux and his old captain from the Temple Knights who want him to rot for killing an inquisitor. ➥ What does their writing look like?: Rather sloppy. While he learned how to write he never really practiced all that often at it which has made his hand writing really hard to read. ➥ What disgusts them?:  Racists, Zealots, those who delve into forbidden arts, and Eel. That eel really did scar him mentally, he had no idea that something could taste that atrocious.
