#cant take ''this is worse than 2016'' sentiment seriously#like i know materially yes it is but in 2016 i truly thought hclinton would win and was surprised and devastated that she lost#now its like well we've been listening to kamala only say ''im not trump'' ''ill do all the right-wing crap'' ''im exactly like biden''#idk this outcome is just not surprising#how can this be the thing that ''breaks your humanity''#truly truly start looking for it outside of the american electoral system#like if 2016 was such a shock how do you then go ''but surely the 2024 election is where i should pin my hopes and dreams''#''surely that's a good idea''#idk. i am very . down . today but people i care about still live here and i can help them by showing up#and thats humanity. and thats not broken bc Orange Man Bad.#i am hoping we all make it out of this alive and that the other side will allow us to rest fully#but in the meantime you just have to help where you can and take it a day at a time
