okay so kade was born & raised in london ! he’s lived there his entire life, and probably always will 

his dad is a really rich and fairly well known music producer ? so music has been a part of kade’s entire life. he started playing guitar & piano when he was little 

his dad ? is a drunk & a huge asshole. all kaden wanted when he was younger was to have a good relationship with him, but the guy would only show up twice a year for about a day and then disappear again. he also would spend all of the short amount of time together telling kade how he’s not good enough sjdhks so by like the age of 15 he had just completely given up 

his mom on the other hand? is his best friend. his parents got divorced when he was young, so his mom pretty much raised him all on her own... kade would literally do anything for her 

kade used to do little shows in cafes and bars and ended up getting offered a contract to sign with a production company, but he denied it a for a few different reasons. he’s never really liked being in the spotlight, and doesn’t think he’s good enough to make it on his own in the music industry. so, he settled for being a writer. and he loves it, he REALLY does, but most of the artist that he writes for are like cheesy pop artists ? and he HATES that. but you gotta do what you gotta do, ya know ?? 

personality / fun facts ;

puts up a facade to seem a lot stronger than he actually is, he’s actually very vulnerable and emotional underneath it all. but he really only shows that side of himself to people he really trusts! 

has always hated communicating his feelings, it makes him feel vulnerable and weak. but somehow he can bang out a deeply emotional and personal song in under an hour with little to no trouble

would literally rather die than ask someone for help

doesn’t sleep. literally ever. this boy has such bad insomnia he’ll be up all night writing, get like 10 mins of sleep and then live off of red bull sdfksdj truly i don’t know how he's still alive

he always has a little notebook & pen on him for if lyrics just like... randomly come to him 

will 100% do the opposite of what you tell him to do just to be a little shit. if you ever want him to do something you literally have to use reverse psychology or it wont happen lmao

has 0 impulse control, absolutely no filter, and is extremely chaotic so he gets himself into a ton of messes. but somehow always finds his way out?? probably cause he’s cute nd he KNOWS it

WOW I haven't seen the "I took an intro course on this so I'm an expert :)))" argument in awhile. Last I heard it was IN uni and some guy I knew defending how he wasnt sexist because he's taken a woman's studies class. Always seems to be a case like this. Hmmm. Anyways, this person doesn't seem like a mind that can be changed and isn't worth your energy or the mental fatigue. I'd just block em if I were you. :T

I think definitely the most jarring thing for me is like. I remember year 10 or 11 history we did a month just on picking out first-hand sources out of second-hand sources. so like, a book written ten years later about world war 1 isn’t actually nearly as helpful as like. someone’s diary written on the front lines, or actual military logistics written at the time about current events. The most obvious example is like, if you read something about what it was like to live in the USSR under Stalin, but it was written by an American. No matter how well researched it is, it does not hold water when put up against someone who lived then and there. You’ll find that the American source only tells you what the Americans thought about events happening in Russia at the time, which is only useful when studying America at the time. And it’s always because bias is going to be more present when it’s being told later, when it’s been handed down through multiple people, and especially when it’s being written for a political purpose.

My history teacher told us that the history textbooks themselves are going to be the least accurate and useful information, exactly because they’re retellings of retellings of retellings, and that they have the implicit bias of containing what someone wants to teach students about history, not what happened. Stuff written at the time can still be biased of course, but writing about how your life is right at this moment is going to always be more accurate than someone retelling it.

So that’s exactly what I’m scared of here? If you’re in Gender Studies or psychology, the first thing you should be taught is to listen to trans people. We are here, right now, in the trenches of the thing itself. They’re not being taught to investigate gender from the people who live and breathe in it everyday, who are dying because of our society’s ideas about gender. They’re being taught to listen to their professors, their books, psychological associations (as if these aren’t hugely political bodies), to the cis doctors who deny trans people’s right to transition for profit. They’re hearing only from the people who study transness, and that’s such a powerful filter that limits your access to accurate information.

and either they’re not being taught these skills by teachers that are intent on building more transphobes instead education and research. or their teachers are doing their jobs well, teaching them these skills and teaching them to analyse their own biases, and these people would throw this all out the window just to harass trans people on the internet. tbh I don’t know which is scarier.

like I’m so willing to teach cis people the finer points of trans experience so long as they don’t pop into my inbox saying “u don’t really believe this, do u?” and telling me my beliefs are child abuse. When my experience is literally just, not wanting more trans kids to be emotionally abused like I was. like I want to scream: I am right here! I am a source of first hand information! I’m more fucking knowledgeable and reliable than your goddamn highschool textbook! How the fuck are you studying gender if a trans person isn’t your teacher!
