A couple of days ago, I posted some headcanons about Castin. I sprinkled in some Modern AU and I thought: "Why stop there? Why not go crazy? Go stupid?" So after rambling on and on with @moonandstarlightsposts last night (love you, baby~), here's my take on Desmond Asmr's characters in a..
High School AU!
-
Characters (background + types of club/school activities they would join)
Baroness:
A wealthy heiress who was homeschooled her entire life until her legal guardian enrolled her in school so she could gain some life experiences. The aloof, popular girl type was quickly befriended by the Queen Ascendant while she and Reyes were childhood friends because their families were in the same social circle. She's the secret alcohol supplier for Tigress' parties, and her form of payment is favours. So be careful when you request any help from her~
She met Castin after their teacher arranged for her to be his history tutor. She found him annoying at first, but after his heartfelt confession, they slowly became friends and later, a couple after both had to hide in a nearby bathroom before the hall monitor noticed.
+
She joins the Book Club with Reyes. If you want to find her, she's either reading in the library or chilling at the bleachers during football practice. Occasionally, she raises a thumbs up when Castin hollers at her, her eyes never leaving the pages.
Castin Hammer:
The popular jock who all the girls write his surname in their notebooks and all the guys want to be. He's riding on a scholarship. Thinks that secured his future, so he's more concern with maintaining his popular image alongside Rhett.
Fell in love at first sight with the Baroness when she got out of the principle office but thinks she's playing hard to get when all his flirting attempts get shot down. After receiving a reality check from Rhett, he becomes more honest with her and confesses to her after they scramble into a bathroom to escape the hall monitor. At first, he was highkey afraid that being his girlfriend would mean she would get bullied by his admirers, but after a particularly nasty cheerleader was expelled due to several allegations, Castin thinks his girlfriend is scary and hot, lol.
+
He joins the football team after his puberty glows up and is considered one of the school's star players. He likes showing off to the Baroness during practice and insists that she wears his varsity jacket.
Queen Ascendant:
The girl that can fit in any friend group, but she's no alpha bitch, no, no. The Queen Ascendant is friendly and constantly invited to parties, yet at the end of the day, she only has a few close friends who would stay by her side even after graduation. She's grateful for them. She befriended the Baroness because she looked so awkward during the first week in high school, so she helped her out by showing the ropes and they became close ever since!
The Queen Ascendant actually went to the same middle school with Rhett! Though they were never really friends, they were aware of each other's existence. She thought they were cool, but for some reason, he absolutely hated her guts after prom. This carried over to high school, and everyone knows it. The Baroness once asked if she wanted her to get rid of Rhett, but the Queen Ascendant promised that he was not going to hurt her.
...Aaaannnddd then came abduction. But don't worry! They managed to communicate well and all is good. Now, she has to restrain the Baroness from trying to kill her boyfriend.
+
She joins the swim team. She's not too big on competition, though. She likes it as a hobby, especially when he bends down to leap into the pool, and Rhett has full view of her ass.
Rhett:
The face of the high school. The number Mr. popular. Anything and everything he does will circulate around campus THRICE! Everyone wants to be in his friends' group. At least 2 girls would confess to him in a week to the point that there's a running bet. Strangely, he never accepts any of them nor has a girlfriend.
Rhett is Castin's childhood friend and is a constant support figure when his mother dies. He's also unafraid to dish out tough love when Castin needs it.
How she and Rhett became a couple, well, took the entire school by surprise! Everyone knows that Rhett had a personal beef with her, but no one knows - including the Queen Ascendant! - why and he refuses to explain why. The truth? He asked her out to prom during middle school via love letter and slipped it in her locker. Unfortunately, it flew away when Rhett's back was turned. So he was heartbroken when she went with someone else and, thus, has been nursing a grudge ever since.
The two were forced to work together on a school project, which resurfaced his feelings for her, who is still trying to figure out why he hates her so much because he's super hot and cold with her. The boiling point is when he abducted her from her home during the weekend and took her to his family's cabin. They finally talked it out and returned to school as a couple after being missing for 2 whole weeks. Needless to say, their friends were very concerned.
+
He is the captain of the football club and a damn good leader. He cares for his boys and is close with the coach. Under his captainship, their school won several inter-state competition trophies. Don't admit to his face that he preens like a peacock when the Queen Ascendant watches him in the field. He will punch you.
Cupcake:
The quiet, studious girl who only sticks close to her group. The wallflower that everyone missed. Cupcake tends to get bullied by those who are looking to take advantage of her, forcing her to do their homework and such. Her only goal is to graduate high school with flying colours, keep her head under the radar and help out her family.
She became entangled with Warren when she accidentally caught him sneaking out of school when the teachers were looking for him. To buy her silence, Warren offers to befriend her and keep the bullies away. Everyone in school was surprised and jealous at how closely he stuck to her after that. They gradually fell in love with each other after lots of hardships. He even asked her out to prom!
+
She joins the Science Club and sometimes tutor the juniors for extra bucks. She doesn't feel comfortable sitting with the Baroness and the Queen Ascendant at the bleachers during Warren's practice at first, but she eventually warms up to them.
Warren:
One of the stars of the football team, where he, Rhett and Castin form a trio and so share the same amount of popularity. He always has a new girl hanging off his arm every month. He is the life of the party and sometimes even the host. He and Castin play fight a lot, and rarely butt heads with Rhett. Academically, well, you rarely see him in class because he would rather be somewhere else.
When he met Cupcake, he didn't even know she existed, but the more he hung around her, the more he realised that she was actually pretty funny and chill. Expect him to bring her to parties, introduce her to his friends and be all protective whenever his exes dare mess with her. He's secretly a softie around her and lowkey enjoys looking out for her.
Warren is all about being street-smart and quick on his feet to get out of trouble. His goal is to ensure that Cupcake enjoys high school to the fullest.
+
He joined the football team as soon as tryouts were open. His varsity jacket is more often found in Cupcake's closet than his.
VP:
Girlboss. Gatekeep. Gaslight. That's VP. She kicks ass and takes names on the regular while running to be valedictorian. Everyone looks up to her, and she owns it. Her style is always on point, and she appears untouchable. In reality? Her home life sucks, so she's desperate to have her public image appear clean.
VP has a fierce rivalry with Wajid because their visions of their club keep clashing. Somehow, Wajid found out about her background and used it against her: either work with him to produce the best show ever so that their after-school curriculum looks great, or he'll deliver the info to the newspaper club. Not wanting to be bested, she seduced him into sleeping with her, took a selfie afterward, and threatened to share the pic with his girlfriend at the time if he tried anything shady.
After that incident, you can hear them fighting non-stop, and sometimes, you might even catch them stumbling out of the janitor closets or other inconspicuous places. Rumours never stop circling around them.
+
She is the co-leader of the theatre & costume club. Her job is gathering funds for props and textiles and her biggest investor is the Baroness. Sometimes, she would also act on stage with Wajid.
Wajid:
The cool, serious and somewhat mysterious guy that you can't help but turn your head twice when he walks by. He's a bit intimidating to approach at first but once you get to know him, you'll realise that he's actually... pretty alright. He just ain't got time for drama (which is hilarious because he's all up on VP's business).
The teachers love him because he always submits assignments on time and respects the rules. The girl who one day declares herself his girlfriend likes how obedient he is. To sum it up, Wajid has no complain about his life.
...Until VP rudely tries to usurp his position in the club that he's painstakingly built with sweat, blood and tears. The girl that haunts him like a beautiful spectre. She's a shooting star that tilts his world on its axis. But unknown to her, he enjoys arguing with VP. Enjoys this forbidden feeling growing between them, and for once in his life, he wants to do something for himself.
+
He is the director of the teacher and costume club. He coordinates every play, interviews actors and actresses, and ensures everything runs smoothly. When he's on stage with VP, he struggles to ignore his growing feelings for her.
Tigress:
The delinquent, rebellious student who transfers from so many schools because she keeps getting expelled. Her father was wrongly framed and is jailed for life, leaving her in the care of a dirty cop for an uncle. She having a rough time growing up is an understatement.
Tigress is a pretty scrappy fighter. She has connections to all sorts of things and knows lots of people, which has earned her a bit of a reputation. For what it's worth, she's proud of the person she has become.
She and Renae were good friends before his mum accused her dad of embezzling money from their joint company, and that's when bitterness and hatred toward Renae's family set in. She's looking forward to her pound of flesh now that she and Renae are studying at the same school. Despite that, she still has some fondness for her dorky friend, and it really confuses her.
+
She tries to join several clubs but none of them interest her in the long run.
Renae:
Another rich kid but unlike the Baroness, Renae has an overprotective mum who controls every aspect of him, even his school life. Also, unlike the rest of the bois, he's more of a pretty boy. Adorable, smartly dressed and is the hall monitor. Yup. This makes him unpopular with a lot of people, but no one dares to mess with him because rumours have it he comes from a royal lineage. Renae is also haughty and a bit of a Tsundere, so his friends are those who share his background.
He and Tigress were childhood friends, and despite being too young to recognise it, he was heartbroken when she mysteriously disappeared one day. So excuse him when it took him several weeks to realise that the new transfer student was his friend!
Tigress being a delinquent does not stop him from trying to befriend her. In fact, he's determined to be her 'prince charming/knight in shining armor' and rescue her from other delinquents in the school, much to the annoyance and amusement of Tigress.
A delinquent and a hall monitor—will love bloom between them? The newspaper club is keeping a close eye on them!
+
He doesn't join any clubs or after-school activities because his mother prefers to have him at home.
Gorgeous:
The QUEEN BEE of the school. The female alpha. The one girl that the Baroness, Queen Ascendant, Cupcake, VP and Tigress dare not to cross. The one who ensures the school doesn't become a flaming dumpster. Gorgeous is genuinely friendly, always there to lend you an ear and is a multi-tasking master. Her grades are always top-notch, she's athletic and someone that the faculty and student body could rely on.
However, getting to where she is currently requires a lot of sacrifice. See, she and Desmond came from the same middle school that ended up burnt down due to an accident. She belonged to a gang that wanted to change the school for the better, and so did Desmond, but unfortunately, both had very different ideas on how to achieve it. There was a fight that resulted the school getting destroyed. Investigations were launched, but no ties could be found.
When she and Desmond enrolled at the same high school purely out of luck, the two swore to work together instead of against one another, and they fell in love!
+
She is the vice president of the student council. She manages all the clubs, checks through student attendants and humbles Desmond occasionally.
Desmond:
This is the guy that your mama warns you about. A bad boy who has fooled the entire school faculty into thinking he's an angel. Those who knew him back in the past like Gorgeous? Well, they'd immediately transfer the moment they saw him.
Controlling a school is just a trial run for him to see if he has what it takes to create his own empire once he graduates. He had plans even in middle school, but Gorgeous became a force he never expected, including falling in love with.
The moment he laid eyes on Gorgeous, he knew that she would be his downfall. His suspicion became true when she held up a lighter with a vicious smirk on her beautiful face. After their middle school was destroyed, he vowed that if their paths were to cross again, he's gonna do everything in his power to make her his partner-in-crime and future wife. Girlfriend would have to do for now.
And wouldn't you know it, both of them had a fresh start when they noticed each other during orientation.
+
Present of the student council. Nothing goes within the school without his say-so. He can easily withdraw the football team from participating in competitions, shut down any clubs he wants and even fire teachers who he has a problem with. It helps that he still has contact with his old gang.

Hi teecup_angel! I want to tell you that I totally love your blog and all the love you put into Desmond! I just joined the fandom and I've spent days browsing your tags because I completely fell in love with Assasin's Creed and all its protagonists, but especially Desmond!! I was thinking of an idea and I'd like you to give me your opinion <3 ok, so this time Desmond would be in the USG Ishimura (Dead Space), maybe the world evolved and Desmond was born long after people conquered space travel, so in this world the brotherhood of assassins would be fighting against the templars and their idea of making everyone "one", that is, in this universe the templars would be the Dead Space Unitologists, and the fragments of Eden would become the Effigies. The Isu might be the creators of the Effigies , perhaps seeking to preserve their minds beyond their lifespan or share their knowledge with the universe, but Juno corrupted the inventions and it ended up in what happens in the video game. I don't know, I actually just thought that the bleeding effect and the schizophrenic illusions that the Effigies causes before the convergence are very relatable haha, and I just want to see Desmond kill necromorphs in an armored suit. I can't think of a way to bring his ancestors there though, maybe you can think of something? thanks for sharing your blog with us! it's become one of my favorites.
Aaawww, thank you!
Oh god, Imma be honest, I had an idea of a Dead Space inspired fic like… two years ago? Three? Around the time I was writing Zero Eclipse XD
It’s my most favorite scifi horror game. Anyway, the idea is that the Animus is able to operate because it uses an Isu artifact similar to the Marker that it can access one’s genetics and that is what’s being used to access genetic memory.
The Bleeding Effect is actually a side effect of the Animus using the Marker.
Of course, that idea was more on the side of a modern day AC fic with Dead Space-esque scifi horror element XD
And this one we’ll set in USG Ishimura and, full disclosure, I haven’t played the remake but I have been watching Roanoke Gaming’s scientific explanations for the remake’s necromorph so this is gonna be a blend of what he talked about and what I could remember from the OG game.
… of course with a twist because we’re making Dead Space’s plot the future of Assassin’s Creed.
So for this one, Abstergo has gone beyond the stars and started developing space related products. One of which are planet cracker class ships.
Hell, let’s go even further and say that they pioneered and lobbied for planet cracking, both for profit and because the materials they find in those planets they destroy have a higher chance of recreating Isu artifacts to its full potential.
Some even show promise of having applications that could potentially exceed what the Pieces of Eden are even capable of.
Because of this, Abstergo… no. The Templar Order expanded their circle of influence to other areas, including public trading company like CEC.
The Order has been too focus on the stars that they ignore the growing Church of Unitology and even ignoring most of what’s happening back on Earth.
The Brotherhood, on the other hand, have been keeping an eye on this church because there is something strange going on there and they actually believe the Templars have some deep connection with the church. (they don't in a sense that both Order and Brotherhood have been infiltrated by Unitologists but they don't know about it)
Not to mention, with the Templars’ hold on earth weakening because of their focus on space, the Brotherhood had been steadily growing in power, maintaining distant alliances with powerful people while keeping an eye on them at the same time.
The Templars’ greed to become more powerful than the Isus themselves is what sets up the tragedy of USG Ishimura.
Learning of the existence of the Marker in USG Ishimura led the Unitologists to set their own plan into motion.
Ishimura includes a lab where they grew clones that are kept in case a worker needs compatible organ transfer or limb… ‘recovery’.
In this place, a Unitologist clones a preserved DNA. This Unitologist used to be part of the Templar Order. As far as the Templars are concerned, he was still part of the Order. His task was simple.
Use the facilities to quickly develop the clone until it’s an adult and keep it in stasis until the time is right.
This clone is based on the preserved DNA of Subject 17, Desmond Miles.
.
Unorganized Notes:
Desmond wakes up once USG Ishimura the day the Marker ‘enters’ the Ishimura. Things are weird are shit because, Desmond’s last memories are about him dying to save the world in 2012, but everyone seems to know him as a member of USG Ishimura.
Things get even weirder when Desmond starts to ask questions about what his job was or who he was and no one can give him a concrete answer. When he try to press them, people just start to grow agitated.
Things become even weirder when a medical officer starts freaking out because he remembers Desmond but then he doesn’t and then…
The ‘disappearances’ begin.
Desmond has his hands full though because his Bleeding Effect has started to become… much more vivid. He swears he had felt them touch him, grazing the back of his hand with theirs, tapping his shoulder… He swears he can feel their warm breath as they whisper to him to…
“Bring us back”
It is unsure what the Unitologists want with Desmond but there are a few medical officers who requests him for daily check ups. Desmond is sus of them the most and that gives him the idea that it's his genes that's important.
Once he learns about how he was ‘born’, he starts to understand that his Bleeds want him to grow more of him. Bodies they can ‘inhabit’.
Whether this is true OR this is the Marker fucking Desmond up, pretending to be the Bleeds but actually using his emotional attachment to them to make Desmond do something for it is a question that Desmond didn’t even know he should ask.
Because by that point, the Ishimura was becoming swarmed by necromorphs
(Whether this turns into Desmond trying to survive the Ishimura or Isaac finding Desmond later on is up to you. If Isaac will be part of the story, either he’d find Desmond already under the thrall of the Marker and trying to make bodies for his supposed Bleeds or Desmond is placed under stasis or something similar and Isaac awakens him)
It would be fun if Hammond is actually an Assassin sent to check what the fuck is happening in Ishimura and he actually knows who Desmond Miles is. If you’re feeling ambitious, instead of Hammond, Kendra is the secret Assassin XD
#welp this absolutely got long#i just love deep space hahahaha#assassin's creed#desmond miles#ask and answer#teecup writes/has a plot#fic idea: assassin's creed#fic idea: dead space#fic idea: crossover#dead space#as usual here's teecup hiding more shit in the tags#i like the idea that the marker is fucking with desmond#and if desmond is successful in creating bodies#he sees them as his ancestors#but everyone else sees really disturbing necromorph#that scarily enough#has more intelligence than usual

61 and Professor Layton
((Sorry this is so late! Thanks for the prompt! II used this prompt to make a part III in an AU where Emmy turns on Bronev at the sanctuary and saves Aurora.))
61: “This is all my fault.”
Beware Bronev’s horrible parenting skills and angst from Emmy under the cut!
When Layton suggests Aurora could attend the local girls’ school, Aurora’s answer shocks us all. “But I am not… a girl.”
“W-what?” Luke almost slides off the professor’s office settee.
I’m sitting beside him, but not close enough to help him up. The last time I touched him, just trying to take his cardie… he flinched.
He straightens himself and stares at Aurora as if she’s sprouted a second head.
The professor simply nods. (Maybe we’re not allshocked.) “So, you’re…”
Aurora’s eyes are hooded. Since she’s wearing casual clothes again, it’s easy to forget she’s existed for over a million years. Not technically a teenage ‘girl’, but then, she spent most of her time trapped in the ice.
“I meant to tell you sooner…” She falters. It’s been two weeks since we left Froenborg. One week since Desmond disappeared from hospital.
Shame weighs heavy on Aurora’s face. She manages to gaze at the three of us in turn and admits, “I’m a golem.”
“Ah…” Luke tries to recover from his stupor, to comfort her. “Like the ones you… you told us about at the sanctuary?”
Aurora tilts her head. “We are not quite the same. From what I remember, they are more… mechanical in appearance, built for labour and later-“ She clasps her hands over her heart. “-combat… I was designed to resemble an Azran, so that I might mislead the descendants who came after them… C-can you all forgive me-“
I surge to my feet. “There’s nothing to forgive!”
She falls silent. The professor and Luke glance warily at me. Dammit- I’ve done it again. Might as well power on now…
“You have nothing to apologise for, Aurora.” I storm towards her. “The Azran locked you away- and your memories. They used you to enact their plans.” I take her clasped hands, pulling them apart and down to her sides. Her palms are so soft compared to my own. “None of that was your fault.”
I see my reflection in her eyes as she whispers, “And neither was it yours.”
She’s wrong… Isn’t she?
I think back to my uncle.
He’d stay up long into the night studying the Azran, letting me fall asleep in his office. I’d wake up in my bed the next morning.
For all his grouching about how utterly asinine it was for me to learn cooking, he’d still test my food.
He would train me until my bones broke, though he would always bandage me up afterwards.
One time I recall him praising me for punching my archaeology teacher in the nose.
He shot down my suggestions for a ‘bird’ codename. “ You might as well wear a Targent name tag!”
When I was bullied by the older recruits, he ordered me to fight back. I was rewarded with ‘my own uniform’ for my success in finally overcoming them.
If I sneaked out, he bolted the doors and windows shut, so I had to find a way to bust in without alerting him.
He let me date whoever I liked, as long as it didn’t interfere with ‘our’ ultimate goal.
He looked ready to strangle me that day I nearly got arrested, but he relented when I stammered that I’d been saved by Professor Layton.
My chumminess with Inspector Grosky, on the other hand, he did not approve of.
Constantly, he reminded me that the professor and Luke were targets, not friends. I was growing too fond of them and my fake identity. (“Becoming the mask,” as Desmond would say.)
To them, I was- still am- Emmy Altava, Professor Layton’s assistant.
To Uncle Leon, I was always Emmeline Bronev. His adopted niece, who he treated like a tool.
I snort and squeeze my eyes shut. Tears would be a relief I don’t deserve.
So I have a tragic past. Doesn’t everyone? That doesn’t excuse Desmond’s actions.
Mr I-Lost-My-Own-Family-So-Allow-Me-To-Threaten-Yours manipulated Clark, Jakes, Whistler and Randall. Three of those four kidnapped children. I should join the club since I held a blade to Luke’s throat! Luke still has the scars to prove it.
“Yes, it was,” I correct Aurora. “I made a choice-“
“Your choice saved the world!” Aurora cries. It’s the most emotion I’ve ever heard from her. She’s not a machine, or a manipulator. All I see before me is young girl.
My breath hitches and I hug her. Finally, I let the tears flow.
I wipe them away when I release Aurora. Luke looks teary too… and why is the professor covering his eyes?
He fixes his hat and returns to the matter of Aurora’s future. “Whatever you decide to do, we will support you.” He smiles at Aurora, but it reaches me as well.
I’ve only just escaped my past. I haven’t put much thought into the future.
Dariya mentioned working for the World Times…
“Yeah!” Luke skips over to grab Aurora’s hand. “If you want to go to school, I can help you study!”
“Thank you, Luke,” Aurora says earnestly, “but I don’t think I would… fit in at a school.”
“Of course you will! You’ll make lots of friends!”
“It’s not that.” Aurora picks at the ends of her hair. “I was created as I am, and I’m uncertain if I will ever change. People may notice…”
Luke’s eyes widen. “You mean you… you won’t get any older?”
Aurora smiles down at him sadly. “One day, you will be taller than me.”
Luke takes a moment to process this. Then, he swings their linked hands. “It doesn’t matter. We’ll still be friends! Right, Professor? Emmy…?”
“Of course,” the professor agrees. “Time and distance can’t tarnish true friendship.”
…But betrayal and the law can. Thanks to my ties to Targent, I doubt the police will ever trust me again, especially Superintendent Grosky. That distrust will extend to Professor Layton if I accompany him on any more cases.
Hopefully, Grosky will let me off the hook, but that’s going to take time.
We have time now. And freedom. No more Azran, Targent, or missions. The world is ours to explore.
“Righto,” I tell Luke, grinning. I don’t have the heart to tell him my plans yet.
“What’s that noise?” Aurora glances at the window when we hear a tinkly tune.
Luke rushes to the window and gasps, “Ice-cream!”
Aurora echoes, “Ice-?”
“Ice-cream! Come on, Aurora! You have to try some!”
He drags her out of the office… and then darts straight back in. “Professor, can we borrow some money? Please?”
Chuckling, the professor gives him a five pound note and Luke charges out before they miss the ice-cream truck.
“Will they be alright on their own?” I wonder.
“I doubt anything will impede Luke in his pursuit of ice cream,” the professor laughs lightly.
We watch from the window as Luke waves down the ice-cream truck. Standing on his tiptoes, he orders four ice-creams: One strawberry, one vanilla and two chocolate.
He passes the strawberry one to Aurora. She takes a tentative bite- somehow avoiding a brain-freeze- and the look that crosses her face is pure bliss.
I ask, “Do you think she’ll ever age?”
“Only time will tell,” the professor says sagely. “For now, at least, she’s here and she’s safe.”
“So… does that mean she’ll be staying with you?” (At this rate, Hershel Layton will have an orphanage by the time he’s fifty!)
The professor hums and folds his arms. “I’d be more than happy to accommodate her. The problem is, I only have one spare room. Luke often uses-“
“Luke won’t mind,” I say. He would do anything for her…”
Outside, Luke chats to Aurora as he wolfs down his chocolate ice cream. He’s juggling the two other cones in one hand.
“Wouldn’t you?”
The professor’s question catches me off guard.
“Of course I would!” I retort, turning from the window to face him. He’s grinning as if he’s solved a 90 Picarat puzzle while I’m still stumped.
I huff, “What…?”
My jaw drops as his so-called solution dawns on me. I point a finger at my chest.
He nods, still grinning.
I gaze out the window again, at the ancient Azran girl I chose to protect.
Aurora and Emmy Altava?
…The professor has most definitely lost his marbles.

Nothing like having shared traumas/issues to help bonding! XD and yes, i love the whole trope of thinking your worthless/ when you're the strongest thing to exist.
Hmm, Leap being weak before getting Desmond could be interesting or its like in the Venom movies where there werent any good compatible hosts until Eddie, but in this case its Isu %. Abstergo wouldnt risk those subjects cause i headcannon that due to the "Desmond eugenics" project that high Isu % bloodlines were sorta kept in the Assassin and Templar order so they make valuable Animus subjects that shouldnt be "wasted" on such a high risk experiment. Plus, another tick into making Desmond feel less "human" is always nice(another trope im a sucker for).
I cant wait to see it finished. :D Also, fun fact: the artist making it is called Rebecca. XD So whenever i type Rebecca or Becca i think of her. Im defo gonna post about it once its done. You want me to tag you when i do? ^^
Lol, i just got into the story and Leap just stuck. XD But it fits, their bond, using the Eye, going rogue. Its all a Leap of Faith. One they take together.
True, Bill wouldnt want to risk it, but Desmond went full symbiote mode when he aimed the gun, so he decided to just lock her up. He's not admitting it, but looking at his son in that moment... it scared him. How inhuman he was. How savage. And just imagine what a Templar would feel! It's better to keep the peace for now. Pick your battles Bill. This is not a war you wanna lose. (Just remembered Desmond is supposed to be in a coma. XD Hmm, we could have Desmonds and Leaps reveal force Bill to come earlier, so he's with them during the later parts of Brotherood. So when Lucy is revealed to be a traitor Desmond is still conscious enough to defend her before collapsing.)
Lol, Clay would probably be so chill about it. Just joking with Leap and teasing Desmond. And with how Leap is helping Desmond with not only Ezio and Altaïr, but everyone else(why is Ratonhnaké:ton locked? This shouldnt be?), when Clay asks to be brought with them, Desmond goes "Im not 100% sure? Give us some time to think about it." So, when everything is being deleted they hug Clay. "It's gonna be okay. We won't abandon you."
True, Rebecca is pretty scared of Leap and it only gets so much worse when she sees her(i feel Leap is on the more feminine side) straight up eating Cross. She just. Can't. It doesnt matter that Cross betrayed them. He was her friend, he was a victim! When Desmond gets back, Rebecca refuses to look at him and barely talks to them. They are confused and hurt. What did they do to make her hate them? She might not have been a fan of them eating people, but she didnt react like this with them eating Vidics goons back at the first hideout. Why does everyone hate them? We are just doing what we're ordered to. Isnt that what i was made/raised for? Shaun is friendly, but is it because he is confident he can hurt us? But he wouldnt! He is nice to us! But Lucy was nice. And Rebecca was too...
I imagine Clay is with them, but with his mind still being pretty fractured(putting yourself back together only does so much), he mostly sleeps while Leap sorts out his mind and ancestry(Desmond tries to help, but someone has to be in control when doing things, so hes the designated driver for the moment).
Yeah, we can hide Leaps existence. When all the goons attacking the hideout got killed Vidic didnt risk revealing himself(too bad they didnt use any body cams, didn't realise the Bleeding effect training would be so effective on Subject 17). Lucy knew that telling Abstergo about Leap would stop Project Siren and with the world at risk? She can't take that chance. Hopefully Vidic will forgive her once this is over.
Oooh, Abstergo is gonna be even more desperate for the Apple and Desmond now. This is unprecidented use of the Apple! Must be something to do with Subject 17s high Isu%.
Leap is actually feling stuffed! This is amazing! Can we do this again? Please Desmond! Please please please please pleeeeeeease! "Im sorry, but i dont think this is gonna happen often, but if we ever find a big Templar hideout we can do certainly eat everyone again." YEEEEEESSSSS!
Oh, thank you. It's a huge honor that you think the ending was perfect. I would have been immensly happy with just "good". 💜 God, this is making me actually wanna try and write a full fanfic of this, but knowing myself ill just get stumped on the smaller details and give up. Doing these posts where the scenes, characters and overall plot is being disscussed is honestly enough for me. And ofc if we inspire others to wrote or draw i feel like i can say a job well done. Im honoured by the drawing that slightly-stable did by just the fact that they liked the idea! 💜💜
Im gonna be sad when i inevitly go out of ideas for this AU, but unlike all the other ideas i have, this one will have a legacy. A mark upon the world. Whetever its positive, negative or just neutral, time will tell. But like the Assassins and Templars, it can be a story a thousand years in the making. Do not do what i do and let a thousand ideas fade, but shout them out! Let the world know what your mind makes, for i guarantee you. There will always be someone out there who will like it and be inspired.
Edit: realise i went a bit on that last section. 😅 i cant help it, sometimes i get into these intense writing sessions and all my energy is spent trying to type correctly and choerently. XD
So i got a AC x Venom/Marvel crossover idea that ive been toying around with recently that i wanted to share:
So the reason that Symbiotes dont work so well with bonding is mostly the whole "We need to eat brains to live" thing clashes with most superhero morals, but Assassin's kill all the time so that could be a match made in heaven?
So, we could do this 2 ways: 1) is that desmond gets a symbiote when he and Lucy break out of Abstergo. Desmond stepped in some weird white and red goo, but with Lucy running ahead he couldnt really spare a thought to it. So, when he gets shoved in the trunk he gets to bond with the symbiote. Its a misfit just like him, completely alone in a world where you cant tell anyone who you truly are for fear of being discovered/abandoned/abused. So why not be misfits together? Desmond gets major flak for being such a chocolate addict, but hes losing hus mind over here so he gets his chocolate. He doesnt tell anyone about his friend until the templars show up and he and symbiote goes on an all you can eat buffe to everyones horror.
Or 2) where Desmond's body is recovered by Abstergo and during a containment breach a symbiote gets to his body and revives it(Isu bullshit FTW!) and goes on a rampage before dissapearing. Until Erudito gets a call on the emergency line from someone claiming to be Desmond.
Thoughts & Notes:
I imagine the symbiote to kinda look like Carnage & Anti-Venom, mainly being white with red details: his fingers are blood red that fade into black the closer to the hand you get until the black bleeds to the white in the middle of the fore-arms(the legs are the same). Instead of the spider symbol on the chest and back, he has the AC logo.
In option 1, idk what name would fit the symbiote, but in nr.2 id defo say they would name themselves Revenge for what Abstergo did to them.
Desmond would at first have issues eating people, but the symbiote does need it to live and if they stick to Templars and bad guys hes happy, so eh. Just make it a quick and clean kill, its the assassin way.
Idk how the others would really react really, but Bill would defintly go "This we can use, you are the perfect Assassin now", much to Desmonds frustration. Does Bill even see him as his son anymore?
Im all out of ideas now, what do you think? ^^
The origin of the Symbiote can be:
If we’re sticking to keep this as a Marvel/Venom/Spider-Man crossover, the Symbiote keeps its Marvel origin
If we’re keeping this contained into AC world, we can morph the Symbiote into a failed Isu experiment. In this route, the Symbiote could have been a failed plan to create an armor that can withstand the Solar Flare. It gained sentient due to some sort of Solar Flare-induced mechanical failure in its containment or lab and it spent centuries being alone until Abstergo got it.
Regardless of which route we choose, the idea would be: In Abstergo’s hands, it was studied and experimented on without realizing it was sentient which meant Abstergo was hurting it without realizing it.
This way the symbiote would have a reason to hate Abstergo and the Templar Order.
Or, you know, he could just like Desmond and be like “I like you so I’ll eat them.” kind of deal.
Another way that can be a combination of Way 1 & 2, Desmond got the symbiote when he returned to Rome to rescue Bill.
During the chase and ‘fight’ scene between Desmond and Cross, Cross could have accidentally shot the symbiote’s container and Desmond stepped on it in his mad dash to take down Cross as soon as possible.
The symbiote only started talking to him once he’s back in the Grand Temple and he believes it’s a more severe version of the Bleeding Effect first.
Actually…
Regardless of which Way we go for, Desmond wouldn’t immediately believe that he has a symbiote. He would cling to Lucy’s words that he’s hallucinating thanks to the Bleeding Effect and he would think the symbiote is more or less his mind trying to keep him sane by creating a weird sorta-not-sorta-shapeless being that seemed to be a mirror image of himself: completely alone in a world where he cannot tell anyone who he truly was for fear of being discovered, abandoned and/or abused.
The first time the symbiote would make itself known to everyone would be either from a battle with Abstergo (for Way 1 &2) or to actually protect Desmond from the device’s recoil because, while it cannot take the full brunt of the Solar Flare, the device’s recoil? Yeah, could totally do that.
Other Unorganized Notes:
I’m kinda imagining the Assassin insignia to start out more like ink blots with small veins stretched outward and the more Desmond and the symbiote ‘connect’, the more the Assassin insignia becomes clearer until the ink blots disappear but it’s an Assassin insignia that has small vein-shaped lines stretching outward.
I kinda like the idea that the symbiote’s name would be connected to either having an Assassin as its host or eagles in general. On the top of my head: Revenge (like you explained), Soar (which gives us a chance to make a lame joke of someone mishearing it as “Sore”), Flight, Leap, Hidden… or, you know, we can go for “Assassin” because no one can think of a better name or even “Bleed” because sometimes the symbiote suit looks like it’s bleeding and as a reference to the wrong idea they have that this might have been some kind of genetic mutation caused by the Bleeding Effect.
Shaun and Rebecca would freak out (Lucy too if we’re setting this in a timeline where the symbiote’s connection to Desmond made him stop before he stabbed Lucy) but they’d try to understand. Shaun would definitely be more on the side of poking it to see what it does because his self-preservation flipflop a lot while Rebecca is more worried about its effect on Desmond’s overall health in general.
Bill would definitely go “we can use this” the first time he heard of it then ask if Desmond’s alright later but, by then, the damage has been done. Even if Bill is genuine in his concern, Desmond don’t fucking care anymore.
The symbiote is the easiest way to stop Desmond’s Bleeding Episodes although it also likes to talk to his Bleeds. Altaïr finds it fascinating. Ezio is wary of it. Ratonhnhaké:ton just talks to it normally although there’s a hint of cautiousness in his tone.
It would be funny if the symbiote starts Bleeding Desmond’s ancestors once they reached a certain ‘connection level’ but instead of its personality being overwritten by the Bleed, it’s like the symbiote creates another ‘head’ to house the Bleed instead. This turns out to be the best way to keep Desmond from Bleeding but they can’t control who Bleeds, him or the symbiote… not yet anyway.
