Calythise the (college of whispers) "medieval '80s" metal bard, and Vhalak the assassin (whisked away from the Mines of Phandelver module).

Vhalak is always a little bit exasperated and highly calculating. Calythise is a narcissist with trickster energy. They have fun together sometimes. Cal is a magnificent distraction for whatever Vhalak is getting up to, and Cal is thrilled to have a partner who meets his ridiculous standards. Also, Vhalak is a doppelganger, and a magnificent method actor. Sometimes they're both Cal, and it is incredibly unsettling for everyone else.
