An involuntary shiver runs through Azra’s spine in response to the familiar woman’s voice. She instinctively straightens her posture, as her professional smile returns to her face. It was diplomatic, and charming as ever. An errant thought came unbidden to mind. If diplomacy was akin to captaining a vessel, she had just encountered a truly terrifying wave. But it would not do to show fear before the storm…
“Miss Lin, a pleasure as always. I’m afraid I find myself at a loss as to how to answer. To which of his plans might you be referring?” Her words carry a casual and friendly tone, as if they were simply conversing over matters of little import. Her hand's clench tightly within the thick pockets of her overcoat, as her gaze trails from Melissa to Benjamin. Never once does she betray any sign of the rising tension running through her.
@yavuz-azra Location: Haringey, on the way to Kerem’s house.
Melissa was watching her. A Turk. Though the anger than ran through Melissa was not piping hot, but icy cold, like frost had formed. Bitter and bone stiffening. Since Kerem’s deceit she’d found a new kind of mission, one that would be left out of the Rutherford’s and she’d leave to herself and Benjamin to sort. A message had to be sent. But first there was something she wanted to do. She climbed out, her form fitted coat hugged close to her body, while a scarf lay wrapped around her neck. She was dressed for the weather.
‘‘Azra.’‘ Melissa stated, limo waiting behind her as heels clicked against the pavement. The winter was coming in, Autumn in full swing as the wind had turned deathly from the summer they’d all experienced, crisp leaves crushed and wet upon the ground. A few feet behind Benjamin lingered, dressed well with hands delved into pockets and a cigarette perched between lips, removed every now and then by a leather glove. His eyes never left Azra’s face.
She did not intend to be there long. ‘‘I must ask.’’ She began, lips pursed. ‘’Were you involved in Kerem’s plan or was it all his own doing. I have no doubt his little rat is involved.’’
