I’m mentally sending you many desserts, and hope the rest of this week is much better! For an OC question; what kind of games do you think your OCs would like best?

ty uriel ;-; im having a friend come up this week so i think it will be a lot better, i joked today "since i only have work 2 days theres gonna be a weeks worth of bullshit condensed" lol

im choosing to interpret this as card/board games because i know fuck all about video games

theres a really sweet game called calico thats a puzzle strategy about making a quilt for kitties to snuggle on, and that is 100% Howl's shit. just a cozy game with enough challenge to keep them engaged, where there is a winner but its very low stakes (theyre just happy they made a cat-approved quilt).

its a ttrpg but i think they'd love Shadow of the Demon Lord. ive only played a oneshot for it but the dark fantasy, weird worldbuilding and horror aspects would be very appealing to them

Fae just likes games as an excuse to hang out, so your classics like uno and cards against humanity is what they'd bring. they're a bit of a sore loser and live for the petty revenge opportunities in uno

the Nydallas obviously love sava, because any excuse to flex those manipulation skills with the added layer of flirting is their bread and butter. i also think theyd have a lot of fun with deception: murder in hong kong. its hidden roles, mystery, murder, balls to the wall theorizing, heated accusations, basically everything drow love (also using this as an excuse to post the polygon video for it, because it's my favorite overboard episode to date)

Chena'stra tried to play cards or sava with Ang'dra, and it just ended up in another terrible fight. either because Ang'dra refuses to entertain her or actually beat Chen and she's mad about it. i'll also say House Frival game nights are a lot quieter post-disowning Chen

AITA for not relaying my entire family's history on the first date?

I (156 F) met this girl (372) at a bar one night, and we hit it off pretty well. very typical progression, buying each other drinks, taking her home etc. we started seeing each other after that, and about a month later we decided to move in together.

Now, I don't recall anything being out of the ordinary when we signed the lease, but my girlfriend claims this is what tipped her to something being off.

She said she thought my family's name was awfully familiar, and started to demand information on my upbringing, family business and the like. Local businesses are very competitive where I'm from, and she accused my family of sabotaging hers. Now she's upset that I wasn't "honest" with her in the beginning, but seriously, who gives out their full name and family history to someone they just met?

a short Chen/Ang'dra piece thats been sitting in my drafts for a while. tws: violence, stabbing, codependency, general abusive relationship themes

Ang’dra shoves the door to the apartment open with enough careless force to put stress on the hinges and announce her presence with a loud thud. It’s carried on by her heavy-and undoubtedly filthy-boots stomping against the stone floor. Chena’stra watches as she rifles through the small pantry, paying no mind to the organization because why would she. 

Chena’stra watches her trod to the living room, slump into a seat, loosen her belt and smack on her dried jerky. She clears the disgust from her throat.

“Nice to see you’re home.” 

Ang’dra offers a brief glance her way, a gross generosity on her end. The foolishness she feels for expecting anything more kindles her irritation. She pauses, lets the smoke pour into the room in the hopes it’ll choke out a response. It doesn’t.

“If you want to barge into my home and make a mess of it, the least I request is a greeting.”

That gets the other drow to hold her stare. 

“So it’s your home now?”

“Why wouldn’t it be?” Chena’stra tilts her head. “You’re away from dawn till midnight, when you are here you can’t be bothered to do any chore, all you do is raid my cabinets and  make a mess of every room. I’m the only thing living here.”

“Really? ‘Cause here I am, in your seat wasting time on this constant bitching. What else can I do, sweet pea?”

The pet name is nothing more than a stoker, more of a sneer than sincerity. Ang’dra knows this, knows what it does to Chena’stra’s temper. Being aware of the game does nothing to release her from it.

“Call me that one more time, and I’ll gut you.” Her threat is cast aside with a bitter laugh.

“You’ll find no relief from it.” 

“You really think so.”

“I do. You could stab me, leave me to bleed out, have more shit to clean up, and it’ll still be your tomb, sweet pea.” And there it is, that stupid grin of hers, that damned smirk that reeks of arrogance, that defiant glint in her single eye. Chena’stra feels heat spreading to her ears.

She lunges, grabbing onto Ang’dra tight to avoid being shaken off. The two roll across the floor before she wrestles her way on top of the larger drow, and puts that trusty hidden knife to use in her bicep.

“Vith! You cheating bastard!”  Chena’stra doesn’t have time to revel in her curses before she’s met with a knee to the gut. The strike sends her doubling over, and is easily pushed off. From her position on the cold stone floors, she hears a hiss and then, the clatter of her stiletto accompanying her in defeat. Her attempt to rise earns her a kick to the ribs, and over her own pained cry is the sound of heavy boots.

Then the slam of a door.

Then silence. 

She lay there, the physical pain making way for a sharp pang inside as she looked up to see Ang’dra gone.

Fuck.  She’d complain so much about being left in an empty apartment, and in the brief moment of Ang’dra being home she’d manage to drive her away. How could she be so stupid? If Ang’dra didn’t push, had restrained her before the knife plunged in, hadn’t worn that Abyss-damned smile on her face, she would still be here. 

She called for Ang’dra until her voice broke, begs coupled with names that’d make the most viscous matron recoil. Her shout fell into a sob as she realized there was nothing to answer her.

That houseless bitch knew, she had to, that the lingering pain would come from no wound, the fear that sent her heart stuttering wouldn’t be aroused by her voice. It was her absence that brought upon Chena’stra’s destruction. Slowly, she picked herself off the floor, subdued the tears reserved for a lost child, and stared at the door.

If she wanted to play this game, so be it. Ang’dra was a familiar beast, and she knew all the ways to summon her.

8. What was your OC's most embarrassing moment? Does it still bother them or are they able to shrug it off?

apart from aforementioned drunk tattoos? well for Iphis i think he got a little too overstimulated during sex and in his flailing accidentally kicked her. he felt really bad about that, but they laugh at it now, and now Minisstra knows to tie him up

Minnie once threw the hissy fit of the century in the grand hall in front of everyone due to one of her old matron's "visits". nobody dares to bring it up

1. What kind of person is your OC in a crisis? Are they calm and collected? Do they panic? Or are they chronically the cause?

oh they panic. they cannot take a lot of pressure. eventually they get a little better at handling crises, but it's less being level headed and more keeping the anxiety from bubbling over into a panic attack. no time to freak out we gotta deal with The Thing. they're not chronically the cause but that's not to say they're hardly ever- at least a small part of their issues are due to their bad decisions, and the panicking sure doesn't help

16. How does your OC make money? Do they have a respectible profession or work a series of odd jobs? Are they a criminal? Or do they get creative in the pursuit of coin?

Howl's a cleric, yeah, but they're less of a preacher and more of a mortician, and they maintain local graveyards but that's more of a hobby. i can also see them working at an apothecary, so they probably do that some time after retiring, just to have something to do/ people to talk to

Fae's had their share of odd jobs from traveling around the surface, they tried adventuring for a bit before going Actually, Fuck that, im too squishy and pacifistic for this, so they stuck to the musician part of being a bard, as well as an escort on the side (idk how far into campaign 2 of cr you are, but theres an npc who preforms and then takes clients back to her room, so its something like that). when they find a place to settle down, they get a gig as a florist

5. Does your OC have a signature weapon and/or attack? How long did they train to master it?

Chen's a shitty little rogue, she pretty much exclusively uses daggers. backstabbing is her love language

Ang'dra doesnt bother with weapons for her. she's just wrestling the knife out of her hand and pinning her down

Chen kisses Ang'dra like she's starving, nevermind the fact her lover bites her lip too hard

Iphis and Minisstra give each other chaste kisses before bed, before parting ways, and after fencing practice. Iphis always asks "Mistress, may I have a kiss?" and Minnie will catch him before leaving and say "aren't you forgetting something?"

Fae loves "bunny kisses" aka rubbing noses together

when Iphis pulls someone else in for a kiss, he's rough and insistent. his kisses are greedy, and he holds them just a bit too tight
