In the many centuries that Lukas Blackwell had lived, walking the Earth and exploring the planet, the man had come across countless other faces. Too many for him to possibly remember those who were little more than passing faces. It was the people the Original Vampire spent time with that became engrained in his mind. Friend or foe, a source of information or a being that was little more than a tool to be manipulated for information. Many of the vampires he had turned over the millennium fell into the category of little more than tools. Cannon fodder. Bodies used to overwhelm werewolves as part of a strategy. Many had died. A good percentage never made it past a year. A fact Lukas hadn’t shed any tears over.
Others, on the other hand, had lived. A very select few had spent significant time with Lukas. Rosaline had been in his company for years. And yet centuries had passed since he’d last laid eyes on the vampire he’d turned. Lukas had left without a word simply because it was time for him to move on. The next phase of his plan included the man traveling solo. So he’d vanished. And the town of Hollow Grove, ever bringing supernaturals together within its walls, had drawn her in. Once disbelief had fallen away, the man approached the other vampire with a smirk falling into place. “So you survived? And put all that effort into following me across the globe? I’m flattered, really.” Once he spoke up Lukas knew she would recognize his voice. Had she known he has here or simply come to the town for safety? “And for Founders Day no less. You’ve arrived in time to celebrate me.”
