After the hunt

He looked like he seen hell, after a year gone no one could really blame him. Butcher's crossing was empty, everyone left when the prices went down, his crew didn't know until they came back. A year gone for nothing...Well he did learned and now had experience, he guessed.

His first thoughts were to go the tavern, hoping the...whore he stupidly felt a connection with was still there, which for the matter she was not, instead there was an another girl. Trying her damn best to clean the mess the men did when they ran away from the collectors and fought against each others.

He knew her, it felt years since he had seen her. "Well isn't that a ghost coming back to haunt this place" she puffed, wiping her hands with a rag as she turned only half of her body. "She's not here if that's what you were here for" She had a frown, disgust in her eyes and disappointment in her heart. "I...I didn't came here for her, ma'am" He said quietly, his voice was rougher than she remembered. Everyone came for her, even the remaining men of the crossing did. "Then pray tell, what do you want?" That sounded harsher than she intended, but her voice remained soft as she turned fully to face him.

"Do you mind if I bathe in one of the rooms?" He asked feeling a bit to stupid to not have gone back to the small motel where he first slept when he came by. "Alright. You know where hers was, can use that one" She nodded, pointing upstairs to the whore's room. "I...May i-" She sighed and nodded, the rag on the counter before she lead the way.

He stood by the bed, undressing while she had water heating. Dropping buckets of water in the bath whenever one was warm enough. Her eyes not failing to catch glimpse of him body as he waited for her to be done. He was gorgeous, Francine did not lie about that.

Now kneeled next to the bath, she had a sponge to his arm, his eyes absent of any life. "William" her voice brought him back to reality, a small smile to his lips. "Yes, ma'am?" She laughed. "Think you're past the ma'ams, Andrews." He nodded as she moved the sponge to his chest. "What happened to you?" She asked, still not missing the loss of his spark she had so loved to see in the past. "Wasn't expecting hell to be real" He replied, his hand taking the sponge away from her and hold her fingers gently. His lips soon meeting the back of her hand with a sigh. "Good thing you're back amongst the angels" She teased, wishing to bring back the man she harbored love for. "Aye, it is" He smiled, her hand moving from his hold to his cheek. "Next time you plan to leave, bring me along"

"I will. Though...Tomorrow, I-" He stopped, her words cutting him. "I can be ready by tomorrow if it means leaving with you" She reassured, a gentle squeeze to his cheek. "Tomorrow, you're all mine." He whispered, shifting to press his forehead. "Today, I am" She whispered back, her head tilting to press a kiss to his lips.

Tomorrow as promised, he had her attached to his hips until the day they grew too old to discover the western wilds.
