Your Eclipse is precious beyond compare and I love him so much
Ahhh, ok, ok, just the start of the chapter makes me really soft, because we as the readers now Robin's high anxiety from witnessing it across the chapters, but it occurs to me that Sun and Moon have only really gotten to see it when it was pretty bad until recently, now that they are a thing.
But now it's easier for them to see the true anxiousness manifesting itself on something not life threatening or ground shaking as was the reveal. So Sun trying to be reassuring even if a little amused that they would be so nervous about meeting Eclipse (because he knows him) just makes me melt a little.
And kfjdhkgjh of course Eclipse was scheming since before they arrived XD In a way being so much taller would probably make him a tad more intimidating than expected haha, but I can only imagine the whiplash between the yanking, the suspicious locking of the door, and then the very serious business tone of asking help with a prank kfjhdgjfhd
(Sidenote: Sun being all worried because of y/n clearly was so nervous and Eclipse just pulling something unexpected when he was probably planning a more mellow introduction IS pretty sweet, and the fact that he calmed down when he heard them laughing haha)
oh, did I detect some hint of that brotherly tension that first moment when Sun entered the room? A mood that Robin understandably would miss because really XD Though I feel that them calling Sun out on forgetting the key lightened the mood immediately from whatever tension that might had appeared.
Ahhh, it must have been very interesting for Eclipse to see that dynamic between Sun and y/n! It's always been them and outsiders that they would mostly be polite to, so seeing how they interact with this obviously important person in their lives must have him very curious, because until now he has only had what they told him about Robin.
Hehe, the "don't enable each other too much" X3 Sun really did know how well they would get along huh? Similar chaotic energies

Ahhh, but definitely what got to me the most was them admitting that they were so unsure about the meeting. Eclipse asking if he's too much (something that he must have heard before and that Robin has definitely heard before, especially at their job, and can relate to) just had me griping my heart for this boy. And then after y/n reassures him that they were afraid of not being nearly enough in his eyes, and Eclipse probably had so much that he wanted to say about his own worries, but rather than doing that and going a mile a minute it's much more straightforward to just show them, and just the fact that he researched what they would need for traveling, even though that would mostly fall on his brothers to handle, and then what "normal" people would do in this occassion?
AND the fact that the online advice must not have included anything of what he did do, which means he ended choosing that genuine approach instead of just following what might have been the "safe" route! Just auuugh, he's so cute, but also so genuine and I'm so glad he chose to be himself so that Robin could see him as he is. There's been enough not saying stuff in their life, so this upfront approach was definitely what they all needed.
I enjoyed this chapter, so so much, Luce! I can see those two walking away from that visit very happy that they met the other!

Ah yes, time to dig in!
And yeah, it was fun to explore this new dynamic post confession (and already more than a few dates in, but just saying post confession is easier)! We had a couple heart to hearts post reveal, but all of those worries and anxieties were between the three of them, and mostly they understood/ related because of either matching or similar anxieties.
This is something where Sun and Moon know there's nothing to fear, so while they still sympathize and want Y/N to feel reassured, they can't help but think it's a bit funny. Even Y/N realizes it's ridiculous, but they also can't help the feeling! So we get some soft smiles and reassurance, and it doesn't fix everything, but they still feel better!
Y/N: Oh god what if he hates me Eclipse: God I hope I have a moment to talk to them in private before everything for the ultimate duck prank
Sun at least is pretty sure Eclipse's place hasn't been compromised, so it's not too serious of an issue - but he just hears a squeak, turns to find no beloved partner and a locked door, still has to grab the bags first because neither would want someone else to call the elevator and perhaps rifling through them, and then he just hears quiet murmuring as he tries to get the door open. The plan was the proper thing - introduce them to each other, exchange a few pleasantries, and carry on with the evening. The yanking changed those up a little, but at least the laughter reassures him that Y/N isn't currently breaking down or clamming up, and grants him enough awareness to remember that he owns a key to the door in his way.
There is some tension - but it's a bit of a mixed bag. Sun and Moon have already started being more open with Eclipse, and have been in steady contact for a couple months now. Four, five months, maybe a bit more. So there's mostly the old sting of "Eclipse forgot, because we haven't visited him in so long" and also "I forgot, too, because we haven't visited him in so long." Y/N picks up on that hint of embarrassment, and calls him out on it, which ends up being the ideal direction to take this conversation. It dodges the "but why did we forget" line of thinking, and focuses on the fun of it all
Eclipse was very much aware of how biased his brothers are, and what sort of soft spot they have for Y/N. Otherwise he wouldn't have planned the prank like that - but seeing Y/N too, seeing that dynamic in action, that's different. He hasn't seen his brothers in so long, and he not only gets to meet them and dodge the awkwardness they used to have thanks to the new person in the mix, but also realizes they are (part of/ indirectly) the reason his brothers changed so much. There's who motivated Sun and Moon to reach out more, and it's very easy to say how they managed to do that.
Sun, eternally suffering, drags out the bag grabbing just so the switch happens and it's Moon who has to deal with it. Moon meanwhile doesn't even need a lot of context - just a "... Eclipse grabbed our love for some private talking" and Moon already knows that something is coming. Doesn't know what, but something.
And the ducks yeah! I'm not a prank person, I went through soo many lists of pranks but some were either something Eclipse wouldn't need help with and it would be hard to find even a suitable pretense, or something food related which obviously wouldn't work, or just straight up mean. But I remembered the plastic babies around school post, and a couple similar pranks, so I went with that! and thus the duck theme for the chapter was born fhjds
Y/N of course is a menace and already thinking of leaving little ducks in Sun and Moon's work office, too. Moon starts hiding them back at some point, while Sun just collects them all and tries to hide them where Y/N can't find. They always do <3
And yeah, the bit of genuine heart to heart! It was still very very necessary to address, and Eclipse felt safer asking them in a private moment. Something Y/N does get - Sun and Moon would immediately reassure them both, but it's not the same! They need to hear it from the person they're worried about! They both try very hard, because Sun and Moon are so important to them both, and thus they want to impress the other.
Eclipse in particular knows that while he means well, he often just. Doesn't leave a good impression. People think he's too direct, or too oblivious, think he's childish for it, all while being seen as too much. He tries to prepare as well as he can - he wants to prepare everything to be as comfortable as possible, he makes sure there's all sorts of things that Y/N may not have thought to bring because they may not need them, and he wants to have a few back up plans in case he has no idea what to say.
And the thing is. He doesn't disregard any of it! Those plans are still there, he still has read them all! But he thought to prank his brothers, and then realized how much funnier it would be if he enlisted Y/N's help, and without even thinking that this is exactly what he thinks other people might interpret as "too much", he decides to do that! And then has to realize that "Y/N who is nervous to meet me" and "Y/N the potential prank accomplice" are in fact one and the same person. He can't help being genuine, he's not used to masking (good for him!) and it's a constant effort to remember to try, and he slips!
Y/N knows a bit about him from Sun and Moon, and they had their own issues with not being accepted for who they are, even if their crumbs of neurodivergency are different from Eclipse's. They get it, and they definitely get the anxiety of not measuring up to expectations, so it's easy to reassure him. They don't even need to say it, neither of them - they just admit to their own anxieties, and realize that it was a mutual fear, and that's already instant reassurance. Because if they're the same in the anxiety department, they're also the same in the "after the anxiety, I'm so looking forward to knowing this person" department.
Y/N in particular had a whole year of secrecy and not being able to just say things directly, and has very much enough of that. They know the effects it can have, and while being open is still new, they try, and it's perfect timing because that what works best for Eclipse, too.
It was a lot of fun to write this, and have them officially meet - we had the tease of it coming up in "As The Crow Flies (They Stall)", but I read through early Eclipse lore again and just. had to write the actual meeting, so I'm very happy it's fun for everyone!

I'm so happy that you love Folklore too! It's not just my favorite Taylor Swift album, but easily one of by favorite albums, full stop :) Here's a fun challenge: which Folklore songs remind you of a certain ship? Taylor Swift’s latest album is a masterclass of musical poetry and storytelling. Rarely do I download every song a musician puts out on a new album (I tend to pick and choose), but I can genuinely say I never hit DOWNLOAD so fast in my life before than I did with Folklore! I love all sixteen tracks! I’ve been listening to them on a loop for two days straight and I imagine that’s likely to continue for the foreseeable future.
Also, YASSS! That is a fun challenge! It’s also one I can manage because I’ve been thinking about how certain songs/lyrics apply to many of my ships since I first started listening anyway. Prepare yourself. This is gonna be long. 😁
Okay SO, for Literati...
If I’m angling to lean into s3-s6 angst that was Rory and Jess at that point in the OG series, then I’d say the 1 is a good fit. That song has the same energy as someone who’s writing a goodbye letter to a loved one that will never be sent. It’s cleansing. Cathartic. An exorcism of feeling. It absolutely reeks of regret and longing with just a touch of look-back-over-your-shoulder-and-wish, just wish, that things could have been different:
“But we were something, don't you think so?”
“And if my wishes came true It would've been you“
“But it would've been fun If you would've been the one”
However, if I’m in more of a They’ll Come Back to Each Other mood with Literati then I think this is me trying screams Rory and Jess. That song emanates nostalgia! It’s haunting in tone (with the echoes, with some slight vibrato). The lyrics bleed with feeling, with emotion that should have rusted long ago but hasn’t. Love is still as red as it was at the beginning of everything only now...only now there’s realization and an attempt at atonement for past mistakes...
“I didn't know if you'd care if I came back I have a lot of regrets about that Pulled the car off the road to the lookout Could've followed my fears all the way down And maybe I don't quite know what to say But I'm here in your doorway“
It's hard to be anywhere these days When all I want is you You're a flashback in a film reel On the one screen in my town (the town, of course, made me think of Stars Hollow)
I just wanted you to know That this is me trying At least I'm trying
For Darcy and Elizabeth, I think seven works well for them in spots. If you listen to the song, there’s a little bit of an echoey timber to the way Taylor sings it and that gave me the sense of how classic love stories/literature kind of ripple across time, you know? How the pages may crinkle or yellow over the years, but they still leave their mark. Plus, there’s also the piano in the background. Almost feather light. It mixes with what sounds like violins in places. Idk, it has a slight P&P 2005 vibe about it to me:
“Please picture me in the weeds Before I learned civility” >> (Because did Darcy learn civility before or after Lizzie eviscerated him mid-proposal at Rosings? Did Lizzie learn to temper her prejudice before or after Lydia ran away with Wickham?)
“Passed down like folk songs Our love lasts so long“ >> (Elizabeth says herself she’s going to be happier than Jane because “[she] laughs; [her sister] only smiles.”)
I have a couple for Klaroline, too. hoax jumped out at me for them first because it’s layered with darkness and angst. The imagery pops. It’s all smoking guns and eclipsed suns and screaming on cliffsides; which, for a pair of supernaturals, and for an Original who has a history of leaving blood in his wake, I think some visuals of misery and violence are a fitting thing. I’m also obsessed with the piano in this. The way she strokes her fingers over the keys - quick tap, tap, taps then a slow one or two in places - gives you a sense of running. It’s a great parallel to her lyric about “sleepless nights.” Here are some other Klaroline-heavy lyrics in this song:
“You knew it still hurts underneath my scars From when they pulled me apart But what you did was just as dark Darling, this was just as hard As when they pulled me apart” >> (This whole section just booms with “I’ve shown kindness. Forgiveness. Pity. For you, Caroline It was all for you” energy.)
“Your faithless love's the only hoax I believe in Don't want no other shade of blue But you No other sadness in the world would do“
peace is the other song that had me crying in Klaroline. I like the softness of it, the vulnerability. I imagine it more from Klaus’s perspective, though, because it strikes me as more confessional in nature. Like it’s a revelation that’s being dragged across his teeth and he wants to scream. Almost as if these aren’t necessarily feelings he wants to share, or wants known, but there’s just no holding them back now. He’s thrown off the lid. Caroline needs to be able to walk toward him with her eyes wide open, so he only speaks truth, he only speaks honesty now. Similar to hoax, this song has darker imagery as well. There’s fire and fences and trenches and all that jazz:
“Your integrity makes me seem small You paint dreamscapes on the wall“ >> (Same energy as “you’re strong, beautiful, full of light.”)
“And you know that I'd Swing with you for the fences Sit with you in the trenches” >> (basically a promise that he’d fight FOR her and WITH her)
“But I'm a fire and I'll keep your brittle heart warm If your cascade ocean wave blues come All these people think love's for show But I would die for you in secret“ >> (THIS IS THE PART THAT HITS ME THE MOST BC so much of Klaus’s love is shown not spoken, so yeah, he dies for her in secret all. the. time. already. There are 5 other ways I could interpret that as well. But I will spare you haha)

I get walloped with Braime/Jaime and Brienne feels every time I listen to epiphany. Like, it’s actually rude how much this song makes me think of them. I can close my eyes and hear their swords clanging, taste the blood of their injuries on my tongue; feel the ash claw their throats, sting their eyes. Just--ah! The two of them serving, fighting back-to-back, two knights with an unspoken oath to protect a love they haven’t even voiced out loud yet...*cries*
“Only twenty minutes to sleep But you dream of some epiphany Just one single glimpse of relief To make some sense of what you've seen
“With you, I serve With you, I fall down Down Watch you breathin' Watch you breathin' out Out“
invisible strings makes me think of Shirbert/Anne and Gilbert. I love the pluck of guitar strings and how it has this air of innocence and sunshine and green grasses about it even though it’s being told/sung from a hilltop of experience. There’s so much imagery in this song, so much color and figurative language, that I can’t help but think it’s perfect for our imaginative dreamy-eyed girl and the boy who’s adored her since he first tugged her pigtails and called her Carrots in that schoolroom:
“Green was the color of the grass Where I used to read at Centennial Park >> (Can’t you just picture Anne lying in the grass, a book in her hand, flowers in her hair?) I used to think I would meet somebody there Teal was the color of your shirt When you were sixteen at the yogurt shop“

august hits me with a waterfall of Darvey/Donna and Harvey feels. There’s a wistfulness about this song that settles in my gut, twisting it with longing, with musings of all those Almosts in relationships that were so close to coming to fruition then never did. It’s so incredibly reminiscent of how Donna and Harvey toe the lie between friends and almost lovers who-are-nearly-there-but-not-quite for 12 years. IT HURTS SO GOOD.
“Back when we were still changin' for the better >> (THIS IS SO EMOTIONALLY RESONANT IT HURTS) Wanting was enough For me, it was enough To live for the hope of it all Canceled plans just in case you'd call”
But I can see us lost in the memory August slipped away into a moment in time 'Cause it was never mine And I can see us twisted in bedsheets August sipped away like a bottle of wine 'Cause you were never mine >> (Obviously I’m swimming in the angst of this until my fingers get all pruny.)
Finally there’s mirrorball which is Jisbon/Jane and Lisbon all the way! It’s funny because when I first listened to Folkore I thought that’d be one of the last songs I’d pair with a ship?? YET HERE I AM. Jane was in the carnival circuit growing up and I cannot, for the life of me, stop attaching him to all the descriptions of the circus/revelry. So much of his schtick throughout the show comes down to trickery and observation, which he uses to size people up, and sarcasm, which he often employs as a defense mechanism to keep people at an emotional distance. I like the theme of this song for him and Lisbon. As the mirrorball, he’s shining his true self only for her. She’s the only person who sees his “shattered edges”; she’s not distracted by all his “glistening.” Here are my favorite lyrics that are applicable to them:
“I'm a mirrorball I'll show you every version of yourself tonight
“I can change everything about me to fit in You are not like the regulars The masquerade revelers Drunk as they watch my shattered edges glisten” >> (Okay, so this makes me think Jane’s on camera confession to Erica Flynn: “I’m looking for someone who…uh, someone I can trust. Someone strong. Someone at peace with themselves. Someone better than me. Someone who knows the…worst side of me and still loves me.")

Its funny we say that ja//une is miles self insert, because just like ja//une miles also took a position that would require him to do (write) things he was not ready to do (write) yet. And just like ja//une he even admits to this folly (to a certain degree). And, just like ja//une he too doesnt seem to be taking active decisions that would help improve the current state (of the shows writing)
The only thing funny is that if Jaune IS a self insert, then he’s an example of a self-insert done RIGHT and thus, you look like an idiot for saying he’s a bad writing decision when the other option is one of THE MOST REVILED WRITING DESCSIONS IN LITERARY HISTORY.
Let’s go down the list, shall we? (Considering in this context, Mary Sue and self insert are the same thing)

1) The Mary Sue character exists for the Suethor's wish fulfillment. The Sue looks like the author wishes she looked, acts like the way she wishes she could, says what the author wishes she could say, and creates an environment within the canon in which things that the Suethor wishes would have happened in the canon, does. Â The Mary Sue is sometimes the gender or sexual orientation which the author wishes (s)he was, or feels is fashionable.
Miles and Jaune don’t look anything alike and Jaune isn’t even that attractive looking. Miles has called Jaune out for not acting the way Jaune should act, Jaune has spoken out once in the series and the story (AKA Miles) portrayed him as wrong with the person he was calling out and the environment was planned by Monty, not Miles. Not to mention that Kerry and Grey also make the environment so it can’t be solely Miles’ creation. So no dice on the first point.
2) There is a sense or tone of whimsy and /or self depreciation in the text.
Most Mary Sue characters are written to be "competent. But not too competent; she’s still a little girl inside, and there’s a sense that at least some of what she accomplishes is done by accident or luck (Pflieger 11). Suethors experimenting with wish fulfilment don’t often also experiment in agency and therefore introduce chance to further the plot, which lends an air of the narrative pressing forward despite the Mary Sue character, rather than because of it.
Right here the accusation falls apart as well: Jaune can only be called competent as a leader and tactician. But as a solo fighter: He gets crotch-shotted, bitch slapped and punted. And that was only in Volume 4. And this further decays as while the tone of these can be whacky, context prevents it from being fully whacky because Jaune doesn’t like this. He is not okay with being treated like this by the world and it actually makes his situation funny in a “haha, look at his misery” way. Similar to Sokka from Avatar The Last Airbender.
And the number of times the narrative is pushed forward by Jaune? 0. The number of times the narrative is pushed forward by chance benefitting Jaune? Also0.
3) The Mary Sue’s appearance, personality, and even scent are often divulged in detail within the exposition of the story; Mary Sues often have physical traits that are a biological impossibility, such as eyes that are violet or shift colour, pointed ears, the limbs or ears of an animal, or hair colour that is not within the normal spectrum of shades.
Jaune’s appearance is not biologically impossible: In fact, Jaune is the ONLY character who looks realistic, it’s everyone else who is biologically impossible. By the very definition above. Nobody makes a note of his personality except Jaune himself one time (and that kind of reveal is common in fiction)
3) The Mary Sue often was given a name with a hidden or relevant meaning, or that simply “sounds cool”, with no regard for ethnic tradition or likelihood.
Again, this goes for everyone EXCEPT Jaune: He at least has a plausible name and it is very much incontext for ethnics and likelihood in RWBY. Everyone else has the fancy names.
4) The Mary Sue is a character either previously unrecognized by the fandom's central protagonists and antagonists before the commencement of the story, or drops in from 'reality' into the fandom.
Jaune was introduced at the FIRST episode so this is impossible.
5) The Mary Sues’ abilities / magical powers / skills / talents not only outdo the canonical characters (even if, or especially if, the canonical characters are the most powerful / talented / skilled at this particular ability) but often eclipse them. The Mary Sue directly copies the skill and is better at it. The Mary Sue is adept at any sort of fighting or magic wielded by the canonical characters, often surpassing the canonical characters in ability with little to no practice or previous experience.
Jaune doesn’t have any skills that outdo any canonical character’s. In fact, Jaune LACKS a special ability that the other characters have. And he is nowhere near close to surpassing anyone in canon. You can try to argue he surpasses Ruby as a strategist...but looking it up, that’s only because people get strategist and tactician mixed up and Jaune is the latter so that’s not even correct.
6) The Mary Sue is immediately accepted into the canonical character's inner circle of friends and confidants, no matter how unsociable or closely guarded said circle of friends is in the canon.
6.5) If the Mary Sue is related to a major character that is not the romantic interest, then said relation is often used as a haphazard excuse to introduce the Sue to the canonical characters/ future romantic interest.
Actually, Jaune was introduced BEFORE the group of friends where established and the inner circle still consists of Ruby, Weiss, Blake and Yang. Nor is he related to anyone so this is yet ANOTHER critera he fails to meet.
7) The Mary Sue acquires friends or romantic interests / partners among the canon characters, blocking or disrupting the canonical friendships, partnerships and romantic relationships within the canon.
Jaune does not stop the main team from interacting with anyone except one time that Weiss tried “befriending” Pyrrha and he doesn’t stop any relationships.
8) The surrounding canon characters are made to act out of character by the Mary Sue’s presence.
Pflieger points out that this is called, by most fan craft readers, “character rape†(Pflieger 6), and occurs because character’s personalities have developed in relation to only those characters that exist within the show. In adding an unknown quantity, the chemistry of the ensemble must change. Some mistakes in out-of-character instances, however, could also be traced back to the Suethor’s neophyte writer status, in that she has yet to master the subtly of writing that allows a character to remain in character, even when written by an outside party like a fan crafter.
Yeah, Jaune doesn’t cause anyone to act out of character.
9) The Mary Sue robs the strong female characters of their rational agency, turning them into catty bitches.
Again, this could be traced to the Suethor’s newness to crafting, but also to the feminine inclination for competitiveness. Strong, capable female characters threaten the Mary Sue’s agency, importance, and place in her beloved’s heart and therefore they must be removed or made undesirable. Teenage girls, the primary bulk of Suethors, are also living in a phase of life where all women are potential competition and bullying is a fact of life; all girls feel persecuted, and the existence of a character that could challenge a Mary Sue’s ability to form relationships with the desired characters / romantic target, is therefore a potential threat and must be neutralized via changing their characterization
Because the person in question would relate to their corresponding gender, but RWBY doesn’t have enough prominent male characters to do this: I will argue still for the female characters.
Jaune doesn’t stop anyone from forming relationships in canon, excluding one time with Pyrrha and Weiss (since that was, in fact, an attempt by Weiss to try and use Pyrrha.) Nor does he stop anyone from making their own decisions: When Pyrrha wanted to become the Fall Maiden, she did so without ever talking or thinking about Jaune. And when she does mention it, Jaune encourages her. You may argue he takes away Ruby’s agency, but then I argue he wasn’t involved in Ruby’s plotlines enough in Volumes 1-3 to interfere and in Volume 4, Ruby has actually taken away Jaune’s agency as he only has one or two scenes where he is the focus (the armor scene and the brief scene with Qrow) whereas the training video scene was built up by Ruby, framed by Ruby’s point of view, we learn nothing new about Jaune and learned something new about Ruby. And in Kuroyuri, we have Ruby about to blame herself and instead Jaune pushes aside and devalues his suffering (the one thing he gained in the Volume) to make Ruby look and feel better. Ergo, this point he also fails.
10) The Mary Sue is sexually attractive to all canon characters, regardless of their sexual orientation or availability.
Jaune is noted to be attractive by ONE character in the entire series up to Volume 4: His love interest. So no dice here.
11) The Mary Sue is often ardently desired by the villain despite there being no advantage or reason for the villain to want said Mary Sue.
Neither Roman, Cinder or Salem give a shit about Jaune and all I could gather from Tyrian being interested in Jaune is that he might want to rape him. Nowhere near this point.
12) The Mary Sue is often the reason for the main conflict in the plot, whether inadvertently or as a central figure. Â Any special destiny, quest, or plot arc possessed by the central character of the canon is often usurped by the Mary Sue.
Jaune causes no impact on the main conflict of RWBY. The plot never concerns him and he is usually the focus of or integral to CHARACTER arcs, not plot arcs.
13) The Mary Sue is witty and snarkish, and no matter how lame said witticisms are, the canonical characters akin the Sue's sense of humour to that which is quite practiced and enjoyable.
Jaune has not made any snarky or witty banter except for one time in Volume 3...and that was self deprication at his expense. And no one found it funny in-universe.
14) The Mary Sue is often able to shift shapes, or has a friend or magical pet that can shift shapes.

15) As the Mary Sue is the author’s avatar, the Mary Sue enters the world of canon with the same understanding of character, plot, and universe as the Suethor; the Mary Sue therefore has incredible insight into the lives and workings, the desires and dreams and fears, of the characters with which she is interacting and often serves as a conduit for advice that the Suethor wishes to impart on the characters.  The Mary Sue ‘understands everything’. The advice considered, the canon characters often behaviour is often altered to accommodate the Suethor’s desired changes.
16) The Mary Sue has a tragic past that proceeds the story, or something traumatic and mentally scarring occurs mid-story that they 'get over' cheerily, suffering neither post-traumatic stress, Stockholm syndrome, or other disorders or phobias brought on by their past experiences. Any scars or marks that result from the trauma are 'cool', or are interesting places or shapes, and are often aesthetically tasteful. Sues are rarely ashamed by said scars or marks, or associate them only lightly with the trauma.
16.5) Mary Sues mope, brood, or pout, but only for as long as it takes for the canonical characters to distract her. Long-term guilt or pain is rare in a Sue.
1. He has no idea of the plot, no idea who characters are until they are introduced and actually has LESS of an idea of the universe than the other chaarcters. Jaune didn't understand what Aura is or what a Semblence is. So no dice here.
2. Jaune actually has a less tragic backstory than everyone else. While his parent may have not believed in him, it’s not as sad as Ruby and Yang or Blake or Weiss or Pyrrha or Ren and Nora. And Jaune is actually VERY ashamed that his family had no faith in him and it is not made to make Jaune look cool.
3. ... Volume 4 and Pyrrha. That is all I need to say.
17) The Mary Sue is the centre of the plot, the key player in any battle, and is the only one who can 'save the day' by virtue of her wonderfulness.
17.5) And in doing so, the Mary Sue ‘ties up loose ends’, filling in plot holes from canon, getting characters who the Suethor believes are romantically destined for one another together, or forces an ending to the major plot arc from canon in a satisfying (to the Suethor) and happy way.
1. Jaune is usually the type to act from the sidelines and assist while when he does fight directly against any non-Mook opponent: He gets hit in the crotch, chased, bitch slapped or punted. So nope here as well.
2. Yeah...Jaune does none of this: This is the work or either Qrow or Salem.
18) Somehow the Mary Sue character 'saves the day' in unlikely ways that leave the canon characters stunned and amazed, often at the cost of her own life / health / magic powers / happiness / love / ability to stay with the characters or in the fandom.
Do I seriously have to bring up the numerous ways Jaune gets made a fool of in fights? Or how about he has won one big battle in his life against the Ursa Major?
19) Yet somehow there is a happily ever after wherein the Sue and the Love Interest are reunited, often affirming their relationship through marriage and procreation, therefore supporting the patriarchal hegemony that a powerful female character like a Mary Sue could otherwise challenge.
19.5) Unless the Mary Sue dies, in which case her death is tragic, meaningful, beautiful, and offers the characters that the Suethor is most directly interested from the canon a lesson / morale / momento to take with them.
...A. They are never getting back together.
B. That’s a common trope known as the Tragic Keepsake.
And that was literally the ONE check that Jaune gets where he is a Mary Sue. The others he defies or outright contradicts. So in this case, jaune cannot be a Mary Sue.
But why is he called a Mary Sue still?
Easy

An alarmingly widespread use of the term, and one reason a lot of people feel that the term has lost whatever useful meaning it once had. There are a lot of reasons why this usage is so common. Most obviously, as rants about and mockery of the Mary Sue phenomenon became increasingly well-known in fandom, it became increasingly easy to throw the term around as Flame Bait. The fact that so many of the other definitions are highly subjective doesn't help.
People who accuse characters of being Mary Sues rarely admit that this is the definition they're using. The best way to tell is if their justifications for the character's Sue-hood are all based on shoehorning, Alternate Character Interpretation, misrepresenting the sources, and Accentuate the Negative. Describe any non-fanfic character as a Canon Sue, and you'll be lucky if no one accuses you of using this definition of the term.
AKA what the RWDE tag does. He’s just a character you don’t like so you call “MARY SUE/SELF INSERT!” to try and get him removed or justify your hate. Well, doesn’t work if someone actually KNOWS what a Mary Sue is.

Astrological summary 2019-2021. Ready for a Pole-Shift?
Earth level
For all those who want an easy summary…. Jupiter is in his home, the Sagittarius, and is ready to dispense his blessings. He is pretty much having a good time with Neptune. Together they build big dreams, with enthusiasm and even love. You are launching wonderful projects. Mars is ready to give all his energy for action to happen, often in synchronicity with Uranus.
Uranus would prefer to challenge or innovate the system big time, give a kick in the projects that Neptune and Mars want to manifest. Uranus likes to create upheavals… gilets jaunes for instance… But… Saturn, time, might still be eating his children…. Saturn says: “slow down, not yet, not enough wisdom, still karma to handle… not until you have definitively dealt with my friend Pluto, Lord of Underworld”. In his corner, Mercury tries to find a solution, to organize things better with the help of the Capricorn or just make sense of the situation.
Heaven level (Hypothesis)
The forever big guys have a conversation. Jupiter, on Skype, calling Saturn, in his home, the Capricorn, who happens to entertain a guest and friend, Pluto, Lord of Hades and Death. Jupiter, an Earthly king, is ready to be kingly and distribute bounties; In close collaboration with the Old Dragon and the Cosmic Lords, Jupiter prepares to pull out his sword and free the Earth-Axis, with Mars. But the situation might be too explosive. Saturn, his father, is advising patience. Cranking the system, time, darkness, finances is on schedule, but the Underworld is still full of people on probation. Pluto cannot release them unless they finish their time or get kicked by the gangs. More harmony is needed between Mars and Venus, which could happen at the next eclipse (January 20-21).

The world in general, everyone wants to be seen and be in power; in 3D, the situation manifests into impossible governability mixed with disillusion about democracy and globalism. In truth, men have rightfully discovered segments of truth about self, religions, Aliens, about spirituality and science. Yet, they cannot see the big picture and are still polishing their low ego. In consequence, they have decided that God is dead instead of rephrasing the meaning of God and gods, and how to joyfully merge with the Universal Consciousness. The result is a possible fracture between the Spiritual Hierarchies and the human world. We can cut the umbilical cord between a mother and a baby. But, no one can decide to live separated from What sustains Life Itself, from Consciousness manifested in many layers, one of them being your Spiritual Government. This fracture might come with consequences, more struggle than needed to ascend.
In truth, the Archangel Michael, My Spiritual Self, does not speak to human beings; as His/My Consciousness are so far out that such an exercise is impossible. Yet, My Consciousness has generated an Embodiment of Myself, an expression and anchor for My Frequency. This Embodiment has been overshadowed, performing specific tasks, teaching and guiding mankind, leading its evolution. An Embodiment is a precious tool, for the spiritual Hierarchies and for humans. It is a bridge between realities that mostly do not connect.
In other words, I, the Embodiment can transmit information about the Earth and human reality to Higher levels of Consciousness, easing the Earth transformational process. And… I can give you some clues. Do you like driving with your eyes closed? That is exactly what most humans do. How can you efficiently assist the Earth, your neighbors, and your family while stopping to use the compass that the universe compassionately provided for you?
What have you understood, integrated with the last 5 articles (Since John Dee)? How have you used this knowledge in your personal life? Ok, you are not Dee and this is none of your business. The astrological trends are way over your head and you still do not know how to use them? Remember, we can work on that together.
Do you know what astral cyclic mechanisms can help you navigate life? The easiest one to consider in the present is the arrival of Jupiter in his house, the Sagittarius. Or is it time to reset your vibration and consciousness with a retreat? That’s what retreats and workshops are about. Re-center, focus on spiritual matters, reset. Remove all worldly affairs and interferences for a few days; meet again your soul as well as the Archangel Frequency, My Frequency.
An answer to one of our readers: ABOUT DISEASE AND SELF-HEALING:
(I am repeating the same things, but it seems necessary. Dear One, we spoke about your problem on our very first meeting, and again later, a few times).
Disease and pain are the body’s manifestation of:
Inner world: you and you
– Inner struggle: you in the third dimension, fighting with your soul, your karma, your purpose. Self-demolition.
– Inner pain: you, dealing with or denying a trauma, a situation and all the consequences of this trauma on your personality, life, perceptions, and body.
Fight with the outer world:
Dealing with the environment: weather, wind, sun, work, viruses, cars and trees (creating accidents) …. entities, implants …. and people!
Others imposing their will, their desires, their needs on you and your unhealthy response to the situations.
Others imposing their energies on you: this is the ultimate consequence of all the above and has many manifestations that translate into diseases.
First-aid-kit: read again several chapters of the Book I Am That I Am: Subconscious, karma, energy relationships and APPLY the techniques. Oh, the book is not on Kindle… bad… when is the last time that you have cut the links with others? Or, have you ever cut the energy connections with almost everyone as recommended in the book? The only beings that you are not suggested to nicely clean out of your energy field are the babies and young children. All the rest is complaisance and complicity.
Or, is your denial so deep that you did it with such compassion for your abusers that they became your vampire-lovers? That’s exactly what humans do. Better marry a vampire than navigating life alone. As you see, I am in the mood for humor.
PRAYER:
Prayer, praying for self and receiving other’s prayers is a good tool at the moment. It helps to keep the head of out the water or to decrease the pain, but it is a band-aid if the problem has not been identified and dealt with.
Denial and the habit of pushing the dirt under the carpet are the most convenient way to avoid facing the mirror and continue being a victim.
INVASIONS of YOUR ENERGY FIELD and BODY:
How it translates: invasion of one or more of your chakras. This is the easiest and most common cause of disease. If you cannot see or feel your chakras, just clean them every month or every spring, like your house! (again, I Am Book). Some examples:
Sexual organs and area: invasion of the second chakra, physically, by force, abuse or emotional struggle (i.e. the lack of respect of a husband, a drunk; last of self-respect: sleeping with someone that you do not want to be with because it is convenient!).
Loss of love: most breast cancers are the consequences of emotional traumas and losses.
Sexual parasites and all forms of itching: invasion by a human or by an entity
Digestive and abdomen pain, dysfunction, inflammation:
Always the reflection of the problem with other’s power or personal power. In work and family situations, in the couple, there is always the same question: who is in power and can we deal with not being the one in power? A consensus exists. Is it what we wish or not?
Then, if there is a struggle, people just jump in other’s 3rd chakra and stay there forever, incognito. As most do not ever deal with that, they will have to marry again or be abused again by the same person in the next incarnation!
The disease can also occur if you are powerful, yet not in the right position to exert your power accordingly => self – disbalance. Example: a bright young man with a high IQ, who did not go to school and has to flip burgers for a living.
Back, lower back pain, degenerating in pinched nerves, back surgery: something, generally someone finds you and your energy very attractive and tasteful and decided to eat your substance (spiritual vampire). Find the culprit and get your back straight again and pain-free.
Inflammation of the nerves: neck, back: a foreign energy, often an entity is attached to you.
Headaches: many roots, difficult to summarize in a few words. What is the area affected? Liver and Gall bladder are most often the culprits. It can also be a friendly visit in your crown chakra, and that could affect your thinking process, your nervous system.
HOW to use HOMEOPATHIC SESSIONS:
One session, isolated within a few years, is rarely enough, because the homeopath needs to clean up the system (motor oil and filters), work on the last layers of disbalance (the accident of last summer, the antibiotics are taken in hast, the grief of losing a friend), then, then, reset your life-force.
We recommend a follow-up session every 4- 6 months, or when your body is honestly screaming that there is a crisis to deal with. If you are never sick or know how to rebalance yourself after each of the above, bravo. As long as your body did not become a burden, all is perfect.
