went with my partner to the last follow-up appointment for workplace fiberglass exposure, where the pulmonologist helpfully determined that the fiberglass-related symptoms have cleared up (yay!) and then marveled briefly over the "industrial bronchitis" code. i heroically did not vibrate out of my skin telling the doctor about industrial dust diseases, even though i have a lot of information about dust diseases. everyone say "good job kestrel girderednerve we know you love being annoying about dust diseases"

#irredeemable whining #the real news is that my partner is OK as far as we can tell! big relief!!!!#the doctor told us that he doesn't know what might happen down the line but he's happy to certify the workers' comp claim #one of the strange things about the worker's comp journey is that it has made me hate the medical system more (incredible truly)#but we also talked to multiple medical workers who clearly & proactively took my partner's side & wanted to make sure #that they got the best possible care & protections. clear distrust of employers. really really nice to see & i didn't expect it #the doctor we talked to was also affectionately addressed as “larry” by a regular patient so we figured he's probably a good sort
