ok so two things:
ok so d'abord, i really need to focus more on learning italian again. it's been such a long time since i've actively spent any time studying italian, my babbel subscription expired and it just kinda fizzled out... not for the first either! i feel like the big problem is that i love french 2 much to properly learn any other language, like fr! anytime i spend some time learning italian i just end up switching to french... like this is what happened with my german studies too. german used to be a language that i was actually kind of good at and now i've just forgotten everything and can hardly say a word in german... which leads me to point no.2
i've been spending a lot of time using french lately, without actively thinking about it or making a big deal out of it and it feels great ! like i've been watching a french streamer that i like play through the latest zelda game a couple of hours a day and i'm currently doing a deep dive into french music from the 70s for a playlist i'm working on (hello hervé vilard, joe dassin, dalida, dave etc<3) and it all just feels very natural and comfortable. french has become a natural language for me to use and understand in my everyday life and i love that for me... if 19 year old me could see me now she would be proud. i do wish tho that i had more opportunities to actually speak french, right now i mostly just consume french media . meeting random french ppl at the bar when u've already had two beers is the best lol, it's the perfect amount of alcohol to have to not be self conscious about speaking a foreign language and making mistakes (which leads to making less mistakes) but also not enough alcohol that you can't properly express what you mean or find the right words. anyway thanks for coming to my tedtalk
#ok so i'm rambling#anyway i love french and in my heart... i kind of do believe that my love for french will make it impossible to properly learn a fourth lan#uage#lol#but three languages c'est déjà pas mal !
