this feels like such a trivial thing to complain about bc i love shiro amano and his art and the fresh perspective he brings to the series

but i miss when he allowed his personal style to shine through more in his manga adaptations. his more recent work often just feels like rote redraws of the games

#which sucks in the case of kh3 in particular bc i hate a lot of the cinematography in that game #it's so rigid and lifeless #i just saw a scan of his panel from kh3 of all the guardians standing around in yen sid's tower #and all i can think about is how much i hate that scene #instead of how much i like amano's art style #he's gotten very good at consistently drawing all these character designs really well #but they're more stilted in comparison to his work from like 10 years ago #which was more loose and playful #i know he took a break from the manga adaptations for a while #i hope it hasn't become as much of a chore for him to create as it is for me to look at it #AGAIN I WANT TO ME CLEAR THIS IS NOT A SERIOUS CRITICISM #i'm just lamenting
