Hi, I just saw your post about reading shadow and bone, and you absolutely can (and should!) read the six of crows series first! It's how I did it (on accident, I didn't realize it was part of a larger universe), and it really didn't affect anything. There may be some minor parts of the larger universe that aren't explained as well as they are in SaB, but you won't miss anything. There is a small bit in book 2 that makes more sense if you read SaB first, but it's not necessary. (con't)
I've gotten 4 different friends into the Grishaverse by reading SoC first, and then they go back and read SaB and find it easier to get through. So read SoC! It's great!

Thank you! I did read Shadow & Bone — like the first book in the series, and I didn’t hate it, but I was also...kind of bored? I just couldn’t really get into it, so when I started the second book and I was still like agh, Alina, please I kind of surrendered and started something else. But! Like I said, the more gifs I see of the show with the Crows in them, the more my brain is like that looks like it’s got potential. Mostly it seems like there’s way more found family and possible action? Not that S&B didn’t have action, just...maybe I won’t be so bored by it.
God, that sounds insulting. I’m not trying to insult. The internet just seems to really be into the Grishaverse and I’ve got reading FOMO.
