you, jun-hee, and dae-ho stood on the leisurely rotating platform. gi-hun and jung-bae stood not too far away, looking around the room in the same wary manner. you were in the early parts of a game called mingle.
it was described as a game where players had to group up and enter rooms following a predetermined number. if the players didn’t make it into the rooms in time, or if the room had fewer or more players than necessary, they’d be eliminated.
the most childish music ever played as you stood, hand gripping dae-ho’s arm in a way that would’ve been painful if not for the adrenaline running through both your veins.
the platform stopped abruptly, and the lights turned off for a brief moment before they started flashing purple and pink.
the first number that was called out was ten. you were in a group of six, and the entirety of them looked around frantically, needing to find the four people to complete your group.
“how many are you?” gi-hun asked a woman, hyun-ju you believed her name was.
“four,” she responded quickly.
“that makes us ten.” jung-bae added.
you all darted toward room 44, the green door. you made it in with one second left, mere moments before the latch would’ve clicked and left all of you to die.
you stood in a corner, gripping dae-ho’s once again with such intensity. you saw gi-hun peek out the rectangle-shaped slit in the door before the sounds of gunfire filled the room. you made the safe assumption that anyone who didn’t make it into the room in time was eliminated, which was being shot to death.
“hey.” dae-ho whispered in your ear.
you glanced up to see your boyfriend looking down at you with an affectionate look in his eyes. something as small as basic eye contact with him calmed your entire body. you felt the tension leave your shoulders as you allowed yourself to take a deep breath.
it felt odd to find yourself relaxed in such a strenuous environment as the one you are in now, but maybe it was just the effect that your boyfriend had on you.
“just stick with me, okay? i got you.”
“okay. thank you, dae-ho.”
each person stood in the room, taking a moment to catch their breath before going out to the death game you all knew you couldn’t avoid. it would be another number called, and you’d have to scramble to find a certain number of people once again.
the door unlocked with a click, and you found yourself standing next to dae-ho on the rotating platform once again.
as the first round, the platform stopped, the lights turned off for a fleeting moment, and then they began flashing obnoxiously.
the next number that was called out was four, and you were in a group of six. you couldn’t risk any of your friends dying, so you quickly made a move to leave the group.
“i’ll go.” young-il spoke.
“i’ll go with you,” you said without hesitation. you wanted dae-ho and jun-hee to survive more than anything, even if it meant putting your own life on the line.
you made a move to leave before dae-ho gripped your forearm. “no, you can’t go. i can’t risk losing you.”
your eyes watered, causing your vision to blur, and you felt the burn in your nose. you didn’t want to lose your boyfriend either, but what else could you do? all you had to do was find two other people and you and young-il would be safe for another round.
“i love you dae-ho, so, so much. but i have to go, and i have to go quick.” you gave him a fleeting kiss before grabbing young-il and running to the nearest participants you could find.
you heard his screams of protest, but you had no choice but to leave. there was only twenty seconds on the clock, and you’d be damned if you let yourself die on the second round of this godforsaken game.
you quickly found two people who stood and dragged them into the nearest room, with young-il close behind.
you made it into the room with only two seconds left on the clock, and the latch clicked, as it did the first round.
you stood in the constricted room for a drawn-out moment before the latch clicked again, and you all filed out of the room and onto the platform once again.
the rest of the rounds felt like a blur. with screaming, rapidly moving bodies, and the near-blinding flashing lights, you were unable to locate dae-ho.
you deeply regretted leaving your group, and most importantly, your boyfriend. but you wouldn’t be able to live with yourself if any one of your friends died because you tried to be so selfless.
you tried not to panic as your heart beat rapidly and your hands sweated tremendously. you felt a sudden, intense wave of fear as you stood on the platform with young-il for the last round.
“have you seen dae-ho?” you looked up at the man beside you, a buoyant tone in your voice.
“i’m afraid i haven’t. but i’m sure he’s alright.” he comforted you, placing a heavy hand on your shoulder.
you inhaled slowly through your nose, knowing that young-il was most likely right. your ex-marine of a boyfriend could survive grouping up and going into rooms, right?
the platform clunked, the lights turned off, and they flashed as before. the number was two, and it couldn’t be more perfect for you and young-il. he grabbed your arm, and the both of you ran to the first space you laid eyes on.
for the last time, the lock was unlatched and you were allowed to leave. you finished the third game, and you’d made it out alive.
you walked out among the crimson blood and lifeless bodies littered on the ground. you shuddered as you navigated your way through the room, and your body was wracked with tremors.
you walked next to young-il, making pace in getting back into the main room. your eyes scanned the room rapidly, looking for the man you left in the middle of the game.
suddenly, you felt warm arms tightening around your waist. your boyfriend found you before you could find him.
“i found you,” he whispered in your ear, voice husky.
you instantly turned around, your hands finding purchase around his neck. you had been so worried about losing him, and it felt surreal to have him standing right in front of you.
you felt like you would never see him again, like he’d die just because you decided to leave the group to avoid causing chaos between them.
“hi. i was so scared i was gonna lose you.” his mouth was right next to yours, yet the proximity didn’t feel like nearly enough,
“never. i’m here. please don’t ever leave me like that again.”
“okay, dae-ho. i’ll stay with you. i promise.” you intended to keep your promise; you intended to never leave him again.
you had finally found your boyfriend again, amid the death games. you were wrapped in your lover's embrace, and you never wanted to leave again.

paw paradise —
pairing : idol!jake x daycare worker!reader
summary : jake's dog, layla, has been attending a doggy daycare and has taken a liking to you… and maybe the owner too.
a/n : i love jake. i love golden retriever energy.
— wc : 1.1k — not proof read —
jake sim has always been a morning person. the soft light spilling through his curtains, the chirping of birds outside his window, and most importantly, the enthusiastic barking of his golden retriever, layla, are enough to pull him out of bed with a smile. layla is practically vibrating with energy as jake clips on her leash.
“ready for daycare, girl?” he asks, scratching behind her ears. layla responds with a happy bark, tail wagging furiously.
every morning, jake drops layla off at a local doggy daycare while he heads to practice. it’s a cozy little place tucked between a coffee shop and a florist, with colorful murals of dogs painted on the outside walls. it’s called "paw paradise," and it’s as much of a haven for jake as it is for layla.
you work there, and you’ve seen layla plenty of times. she’s impossible to miss, bounding in with her golden coat practically glowing, a stark contrast to the sleepy-eyed boy holding her leash. you’ve always thought jake was cute in an approachable, golden-retriever-boy kind of way, but you’ve never had the chance to really talk to him. he’s usually in and out within minutes, his mornings rushed and busy.
one morning, you’re at the front desk, checking in dogs and chatting with their owners, when jake walks in. his smile is soft but genuine as he approaches, layla’s leash wrapped securely around his hand.
“hey,” he says, sliding the daycare’s sign-in clipboard toward himself. “how’s it going?”
“it’s good,” you reply, trying not to sound too nervous. “how about you?”
“can’t complain. layla’s been up since six, so she’s ready to burn off some energy.”
as if to prove his point, layla wags her tail so hard that her whole body shakes. you laugh, crouching down to give her a few pats. “she’s such a sweetheart.”
jake’s grin widens. “she likes you. that’s rare; she’s usually all about the dogs.”
it’s a small comment, but it sticks with you. there’s something about the way he says it, casual but warm, that makes your chest flutter.
after jake leaves, you’re busy with the usual daycare chaos—feeding schedules, playtime rotations, cleaning up after the more “exuberant” dogs. but layla’s easy. she gets along with everyone, her gentle nature making her a favorite among the other pups. you find yourself sneaking her extra belly rubs during breaks, thinking about her equally charming owner.
the days pass in a blur of wagging tails and barking dogs. jake becomes a familiar face, always polite and friendly, but never lingering too long. you start noticing little things about him: the way he always thanks you before leaving, the way he scratches layla’s ears like she’s the center of his world. it’s endearing, but you keep your distance. after all, he’s just another client.
one weekend, the daycare hosts a small "pup playdate" event for clients and their dogs. it’s meant to be a casual gathering with snacks, games, and plenty of room for the dogs to play. you’re busy setting up when jake arrives, layla trotting happily beside him.
“hey,” he says, balancing a tray of cupcakes. “i brought these. figured the humans might want snacks, too.”
“nice touch,” you reply, smiling. “you didn’t have to, though.”
“well, layla insisted,” he jokes. “and by insisted, i mean she stared at me while i baked.”
throughout the event, you notice how easily jake fits in. he chats with other dog owners, laughing as layla plays tug-of-war with a beagle while she is twice her size. at one point, he joins you by the snack table, where you’re refilling bowls of treats.
“this is really nice,” he says. “you guys put a lot of effort into it.”
“thanks,” you reply, brushing a stray strand of hair out of your face. “it’s fun seeing all the dogs together.”
“you’re good at this,” he adds, his voice warm. “the dogs love you. layla especially.”
his words catch you off guard, but before you can respond, a chorus of barking erupts as the dogs chase after a stray ball. jake laughs and jogs over to join the chaos, leaving you feeling oddly flustered.
a few days later, jake surprises you again. this time, it’s a rainy morning, and he’s soaked from head to toe when he walks in. “i forgot my umbrella,” he explains, shaking water off his jacket. “but layla needed her playtime.”
you grab him a towel, trying not to laugh. “here, dry off before you catch a cold.”
as you softly dry his hair, you notice how his usually neat appearance is a little disheveled. it’s strangely endearing, and you can’t help but offer him a cup of tea from the staff kitchen.
“you don’t have to,” he says, but you wave him off.
“consider it a thank-you for all those coffees you’ve brought me.”
the two of you sit by the window, watching the rain as layla happily plays in the indoor area. the conversation flows easily, moving from lighthearted topics to deeper ones. jake tells you about how he adopted layla during a tough time in his life, how she’s been his constant source of joy. you share stories about your journey to working at the daycare, your dreams of opening your own place someday.
these little moments start to add up. jake’s visits become a highlight of your day, and you find yourself looking forward to seeing him more than you’d like to admit. but it’s still just friendly… at least, that’s what you tell yourself.
one evening, as you’re locking up the daycare, jake’s car pulls into the parking lot. layla’s head pops out the window, barking happily when she sees you.
“hey,” jake says, stepping out of the car. “i know it’s late, but we were just at the park and thought we’d swing by.”
“lucky me,” you say, grinning. “what’s up?”
jake rubs the back of his neck, looking unusually neevous. “actually, i wanted to ask you something.”
“oh?”
he takes a deep breath. “i was wondering if you’d like to go out sometime. like, just us. no dogs.”
your heart skips a beat. “i’d like that,” you say, trying to keep your voice steady.
jake’s face breaks into the brightest smile you’ve ever seen. “great. how about this weekend?”
“it’s a date,” you reply, and layla barks as if in agreement. “c’mon in, i’ll give you a ride home”
“if you insist” you couldn’t hold back a smile.
you’ve always believed in the magic of dogs, but you never one to lead you to someone like jake.
turns out, paw paradise really is paradise after all.

With The Roses - Her Best Secret 2
1950s Natasha Romanoff x fem!reader
Summary: Natasha and R are having an affair. - they get to spend a night together
Note: I wrote this after watching Mother's Instinct with Anne Hathway and Jessica Chastain. I needed to make it gay. I don't know what this is truly but it's here.
Warnings: Smut and fluff and angst - there's a bit of panic =)
w/c: 7k
The sun was high, and the air was humid as you walked down the street toward your neighbor's house. Claire was having a girl's day with your mother, and Sam and Steve were away on one of their fishing trips. The house felt too big and quiet, so your feet naturally led you to Natasha’s. The sight that greeted you stopped you in your tracks. There she was, Natasha Romanoff, tending to her rose garden in the front yard, utterly absorbed in her work. She was sporting a crisp white blouse tucked into her black slacks. A sun visor perched on her head as she leaned down to inspect a blooming rose. She snipped away at the stems with small pruning shears.
You didn't call out to her immediately, enjoying the rare moment of seeing her so at peace. Her hair was tied back into a neat bun, with a few loose strands sticking to the nape of her neck with sweat. She hummed softly, a tune you couldn't quite place, as she moved to the next bush.
"Staring's rude, you know," She finally said, without even turning around.
"Well, I'm just enjoying the view," You said without thinking. Natasha smirked, though you couldn't see her face. "The roses are beautiful."
Natasha straightened up, turning to face you with an amused expression. Her cheeks were flushed, likely from the heat, and a faint sheen of sweat was on her brow. Even in the humid air, she looked as effortlessly composed as ever.
“They are,” she agreed, arching an eyebrow. “Though I have a feeling that’s not all you were looking at.”
You felt your face heat up, and you tried to play it off with a laugh. “Guilty as charged. But really, the roses are stunning.”
She smirked, her green eyes sparkling in the sunlight. “Nice save.”
You stepped closer, leaning slightly against her yard's white picket fence. “You’ve got quite the green thumb, huh? I don’t know how you keep them alive in this heat.”
Natasha shrugged, slipping off her gloves and tossing them into her wicker basket. “Patience. A little care goes a long way.” Her gaze flicked over to you. “Kind of like friendships.”
You tilted your head, smiling softly. “Is that your subtle way of telling me I don’t visit enough?”
She chuckled, pulling the sun visor off her head and running a hand over her hair. “Maybe. But you’re here now, and I’ll take what I can get.”
“Well, I was feeling lonely,” you admitted, looking down at your feet for a moment before glancing back up at her. “Claire’s with my mother today. They've gone down to do a little shopping and to get tea."
Natasha’s expression softened. She gestured toward her house with a nod of her head. “Come on inside. I just made some lemonade. The perfect excuse to take a break from this heat.”
She turned and headed toward the front porch. You followed behind her, admiring the way her slacks hugged her shapely legs and backside. Your mind drifted to the first time you had seen her in her pants. You had been unable to stop your eyes from trailing over her body, her curves barely contained by her tight clothes. Natasha was a modern woman. She was everything you wished you could be. Not too long ago, you couldn't tell whether you wanted to be with her or be her.
In the kitchen, Natasha handed you a glass of lemonade, the ice clinking as it settled. You murmured a quiet “thanks” before taking a sip. The tartness was perfectly balanced with sweetness, and it helped you cool down. Natasha leaned against the counter, her gaze casually following yours as you scanned the room.
It was quiet there too. Your attention snagged on the stack of books on the table. The covers were worn, and the spines creased from countless reads. Titles like East of Eden by John Steinbeck, Peyton Place by Grace Metalious, and The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger caught your eye.
“You read a lot,” you said, gesturing toward the books as you set your glass on a coaster.
Natasha followed your gaze and smiled. “Guilty as charged. It’s how I unwind.”
You picked up East of Eden, running your fingers over the aged cover. “These are good choices. Heavy, but good.”
“I like a story that makes me think,” she said, tilting her head slightly. “But I also like a little drama. Something juicy enough to make me forget about the world for a while.”
“Peyton Place fits that bill,” you quipped, flipping through its pages.
Natasha chuckled, her voice warm and rich. “It does. Small-town secrets and scandal? What’s not to love?”
You glanced up, catching her watching you with a soft smile. Her red hair was coming loose from the bun, a few strands framing her face. Her tight white blouse clung to her form, and you could not resist letting your gaze linger for a moment longer than it should.
Natasha noticed—of course, she saw—but she didn’t say anything. Instead, she walked over, brushing past you to pick up another book from the pile. Her perfume lingered, a mix of roses and something earthy, grounding.
“You should borrow one,” she offered, holding the book out to you. “Unless you’re more of a magazine person.”
You smirked, taking the book from her hands. “I think I can handle a real novel, thank you very much.”
Natasha held up her hands in surrender, chuckling. "Alright, I’ll behave."
You glanced at the book she’d handed you, The Sun Also Rises by Ernest Hemingway. Your fingers traced the embossed title on the cover, appreciating the texture of the paper.
"What a striking title," you murmured. "You do have an eye for fine books, Nat."
She smiled, her green eyes sparkling. "It’s a favorite of mine. You’d enjoy it, I think."
"How’s little Claire-bear?" Natasha asked, shifting the conversation with ease.
"She’s quite the spitfire," you replied, unable to hold back a smile. "Though she’s been picking up words, I’d rather she didn’t. I told her I’d wash her mouth with soap if she tried them again."
Natasha chuckled, her laugh as soft as the breeze. "Children do have a way of testing boundaries. I imagine Sam isn’t much help with discipline."
You rolled your eyes, though your tone was fond. "He’s utterly hopeless. She’s got him wrapped around her little finger. ‘Daddy’s Little Girl’ and all that."
"Well," Natasha said, raising a brow, "it sounds like you’ve your hands full."
You hesitated, tracing the condensation on your lemonade glass. "I’ve been glancing at the classifieds lately," you admitted your voice a touch hesitant.
Natasha leaned forward slightly. "Oh? Are you considering a position somewhere?"
"Yes, though Sam doesn’t see the point. He keeps saying we’re managing fine, but it’s not about the money. I just... I feel as though I need something of my own."
Natasha frowned, her lips pressing together briefly. "And what’s his argument, exactly?"
You sighed. "It’s still the 1950s, Nat. No matter how modern things are becoming, people expect women to keep the house running while their husbands provide. It’s not as though I don’t understand it—it’s just..."
"It’s just not what you want," Natasha finished for you gently.
You nodded, the tension easing slightly under her understanding gaze.
"You deserve more," Natasha said firmly. "If there’s one thing I know, it’s that a woman who follows her heart is never truly out of step with the times."
You chuckled, her words both comforting and inspiring. "Thanks, Nat. You always know what to say."
"Anytime," she replied with a warm smile. "If Sam needs a nudge in the right direction, just say the word."
"Do I seem ungrateful?" You questioned. "Sam provides well; he is good to me, and I have everything a woman could ask for."
"Except the right to choose for yourself," Natasha remarked.
"Yes," you sighed. "I can't explain it, but something is missing. Like a piece of myself that I've yet to find."
Natasha hummed, her eyes scanning over your features. You held her gaze for a moment before shifting the conversation.
"You know," you began, tilting your head, "you never talk about you and Steve."
Natasha’s brows lifted slightly, caught off guard by your remark. She recovered quickly, though, leaning back in her chair with a shrug. "There’s not much to say."
"Nat," you said pointedly, giving her a look. "That’s not true, and you know it. You’re always checking in on me, listening to my endless rants, offering advice, but you never let me return the favor."
Natasha’s lips curved into a faint smile, though it didn’t quite reach her eyes. "I don’t mean to keep things from you. It’s just complicated."
"That’s not an excuse," you countered gently. "You’re my friend, Nat. I care about you, just like you care about me. Why not let me in for once?"
She hesitated, her fingers brushing against the rim of her glass. "Steve’s a good man," she said finally, her voice measured. "But sometimes... sometimes I wonder if being with me is best for him."
You frowned, your heart aching at the vulnerability in her tone. "Why would you think that? Anyone would be lucky to have you."
Natasha let out a soft laugh, though it was filled with bitterness. "I’m not exactly the ideal woman, am I? I’ve got too many rough edges and too much baggage. Steve deserves someone uncomplicated, someone who fits neatly into his world. Someone feminine. I'm not a homemaker. I can't cook but a few dishes. The roses are the only thing I can keep alive."
The silence that followed was thick with unspoken words. Natasha shifted, the weight of the conversation settling between you both. She looked down at her glass, her fingers tapping lightly against the rim. Her lips parted as if she was about to say something but quickly closed again, unsure of how to continue.
"He's lucky to have you as a wife," you said, trying to break the tension. "You're smart, witty, and a great listener. You've got the sharpest tongue and a killer sense of style. Steve couldn't have asked for a better match."
"It's not the same," she insisted, her eyes meeting yours. "He doesn't need someone like me. He needs a woman to run a household and keep his parents happy. Someone who doesn't enjoy sex with women."
You blinked, startled by the last bit. Natasha was staring at you, her expression guarded. You felt the sudden urge to reach out and reassure her, but you didn't know how.
"I'm not sure what you mean," you said carefully. "Are you saying that you and Steve don't—"
"No," Natasha interrupted. "I'm not saying that. But our sex life is... complicated. I enjoy sex with him, but I also enjoy sex with other women. It's not something he can understand."
Your cheeks flushed as her words sunk in. The air seemed to crackle between you both, charged with tension. Natasha was still watching you, waiting for your reaction. You didn't know what to say. You'd never given much thought to other women before her.
"The postman is here," Natasha said, suddenly standing and heading to the window. It was her way of pulling away from the conversation. She tended to do that a lot. "Let's see if we've gotten anything interesting today."
She didn't wait for your reply before stepping outside, the screen door shutting behind her. You watched her walk down the front steps, her posture perfectly poised. She spoke to the postman briefly before heading back toward the house, a stack of envelopes in hand. You stood, clearing your throat as she came inside.
"Let's see," Natasha murmured, sorting through the mail. "Bills, bills, more bills... oh, and this must be the latest copy of Vogue."
She pulled out a magazine, its cover featuring a stunning model wearing an elegant evening gown. You glanced at the cover, admiring the sleek design.
"Looks like I'm not the only one who loves fashion," you teased, giving her a knowing smile. She stacked the mail on the foyer table.
"There's nothing wrong with wanting to look good," Natasha said, a faint smile curving her lips.
You hesitated, the words spilling from your lips. "Do you want to go out?"
Natasha raised a brow, surprised by your suggestion. "Like a date?"
"Yeah," you said, shrugging. "We could get a bite to eat or go dancing."
"Oh, honey," Natasha said with a soft chuckle, leaning against the table's edge as she folded her arms. "You know it can’t be a date."
"I know," you said quickly, feeling a slight flush creep up your cheeks. "I didn’t mean it like that. I just thought..." You trailed off, fumbling for the words. "Well, I just thought maybe we could spend some time together. But if it’s too much, forget I said anything."
Natasha’s smile softened, her green eyes warm. "Now, don’t go putting words in my mouth," she said lightly. "I didn’t say no. I just think stepping out together might turn a few heads. Folks around here love a bit of gossip."
"True enough," you said with a small laugh, nodding in agreement. "The neighborhood grapevine’s quicker than a telephone line."
"Exactly," Natasha said, her tone playful but with a hint of caution. She paused for a moment, tilting her head thoughtfully. "But who says we can’t make a night of it here? I’ve got a good bottle of wine in the kitchen and more records than I can count. No need for all the hullabaloo."
You raised a brow, your lips curving into a smile. "So, you’d rather keep me hidden in your house than be seen with me in public?"
Natasha smirked, grabbing the stack of mail and heading toward the kitchen. "Something like that. Besides, I think you’d enjoy the songs I’ve been spinning lately."
"Oh, now I’m curious," you teased, following her. "What kind of tunes are we talking about?"
"Only the best," Natasha replied, glancing over her shoulder with a twinkle in her eye. "But you’ll have to stick around to find out."
"Fair enough," you said, feeling a warmth spread through you. Spending a quiet evening with Natasha, just the two of you, felt more inviting than any night out.
********
Hours later, you found yourself back at Natasha’s house, taking note of the sun setting as your cue. You’d taken your time getting ready, selecting an outfit that was comfortable and flattering. It wasn’t overly fussy—Natasha would never expect that—but you wanted to look your best for her.
You’d even dabbed on your favorite shade of lipstick, which always made you feel more confident. And for good measure, you pinned your hair up, remembering how Natasha once mentioned how much she liked the style on you. Her words had stayed with you, playing on repeat in the quieter corners of your mind.
As you climbed the steps to her porch, the soft glow of light spilling through the windows made the house feel welcoming, almost magical in the dusk. You smoothed your skirt one last time and knocked, your heart picking up a rhythm that felt both ridiculous and exhilarating.
When the door opened, Natasha stood in a simple yet elegant outfit—a soft sweater and slacks that looked effortlessly chic. She gave you a once-over, her lips curving into a small, approving smile.
"You clean up nice," she said, stepping aside to let you in.
"You don’t look so bad yourself," you quipped, though your tone betrayed how much you meant it.
The house smelled faintly of roses, and the faint crackle of a record player filled the air with a familiar melody. Natasha led you into the living room, where a small table had been set with two glasses and the bottle of wine she’d mentioned earlier.
"You didn’t have to go to so much trouble," you said, taking it all in.
"It’s not trouble," she replied, her voice warm. "I just figured if we’re staying in, we might as well make it nice."
You couldn’t help but smile at that, feeling a little flutter in your chest. Natasha always had a way of making the simplest moments feel extraordinary.
"Here," she said, holding up the bottle. "I think it's best to start with a toast."
She poured the wine, and you each took a glass, clinking them together before taking a sip. The wine was smooth and rich, warming your throat as you swallowed.
"Good choice," you murmured, admiring the deep red color.
"Only the best," she repeated, a mischievous glint in her eye.
"So," you said, glancing around the room. "What song did you have in mind?"
"Ah," Natasha said, nodding. "Let me put on the record, and you'll see."
She crossed the room, and as the music began to play, your eyes widened.
"Oh, I love this one," you exclaimed. "Billie Holiday is a gem!"
Natasha smiled, the look in her eyes softening as the music filled the room. "She's a favorite of mine. This particular song always reminds me of a dear friend. A girl, actually. We used to dance together when we were younger."
Her voice was full of affection, and you imagined a young Natasha swept up in the arms of a girl, their bodies pressed close as they moved together to the music. You swallowed, trying to ignore the pang of jealousy in your belly.
"Did she mean a lot to you?" You asked, trying to keep your tone casual.
Natasha laughed, her eyes sparkling. "We had some fun times. Truthfully, she was always a bit too wild for my taste."
"Oh," You nodded.
"Are you jealous?"
"No," you said, shaking your head. "Just surprised.”
Natasha grinned, her lips parting slightly as if she was going to say something, but instead, she walked over and held out her hand.
"Dance with me."
You stared at her, surprised. You didn't know what to say, and your heart was racing.
"Dance with me," Natasha repeated, her voice softer now.
Slowly, you took her hand, feeling the warmth of her skin against yours. She drew you close, wrapping her arm around your waist, and you followed her lead. Your bodies swayed to the music, the rhythm guiding you both. You and Natasha had never danced this close before. You'd never had this moment of intimacy with her. All of your meetings before this were guided by hurriedness and practicality. There was always a purpose—a reason—for your time together, whether it was helping with her garden, sharing a quick cup of coffee, or catching up about your families. But this moment was different. There was no rush, no task to complete, no excuse to look away.
The world outside her cozy living room slowly faded, leaving just the two of you. Natasha’s hand rested firmly but tenderly against the small of your back, her touch grounding you in a way you hadn’t expected.
"You’re a natural," she murmured, her breath brushing against your ear.
You let out a soft laugh, a little embarrassed but unable to tear your gaze away from her. "I’m just following your lead."
Her lips twitched into a faint smile that softened her typically sharp features. "You make it look effortless."
You couldn’t tell if she was talking about the dancing or something else entirely, but the weight of her words wrapped around you just the same. The space between you was almost nonexistent now, and you were hyper-aware of every place her body met yours—the press of her breasts against yours, the warmth of her breath, the brush of her thighs against yours. You knew it was wrong to feel this way, but you couldn’t deny how good it felt.
You couldn’t deny how much you wanted her.
As the song ended, you remained close, neither willing to break the spell.
"This is nice," Natasha muttered. "Being here with you like this."
You hummed in agreement, her words sending a shiver down your spine.
"I can't believe you've been here this long and I haven't kissed you," She said.
"Natasha," you whispered.
"What is it?" She asked.
"Kiss me."
She didn't need to be told twice.
Her lips met yours, her kiss tender and firm, and you melted into her. It was unlike any other kiss you'd experienced, and you wanted more. You parted your lips, deepening the kiss, and she responded in kind, her tongue meeting yours in a slow, languid rhythm.
You were lost in the sensation, the taste of her, the scent of her perfume, the softness of her skin. You couldn't think straight. Your whole body was buzzing with desire, and the only thing you could focus on was her.
"You always taste so sweet,"
"Mmm, it's just my lipstick," you said with a soft laugh.
"It's more than that," she countered, her fingers tracing the curve of your jaw. "It's you."
Her words made your heart skip a beat, and you could feel yourself getting flushed.
"Nat," You murmured.
"Yes?" She asked, her gaze locking with yours.
"I love being here with you.”
Her expression shifted, a mix of emotions playing across her face. Surprise, desire, and something else, something softer. Somehow, she figured that’s not what you were going to say.
"I love being here with you too.”
And with that, she captured your lips in another searing kiss. You both knew there was no turning back now. You were each other's, and nothing could ever change that.
"We haven’t had dinner," She whispered. "I cooked for you. Um, brisket. It's in the oven."
"It's perfect," you breathed, the two of you stumbling to the couch. "Everything's perfect."
"Well," Natasha said, her eyes dancing with amusement. "I wouldn't go that far."
"Take a compliment," you replied, a playful edge in your voice.
She smiled, leaning in to capture your lips once more. As the kisses grew heated, her hands began exploring your body, her touch igniting a fire within you. You were burning up with need; she was the only thing to quench the flames.
You couldn't resist reaching for her, pulling her close as your kisses became desperate and hungry. The heat between you was undeniable, and you were both lost in the moment.
"Can I touch you here?" Natasha asked as her hand raised to rest along your breast. It was an interesting question, considering she'd touched you in far worse places. You nodded.
She was careful and gentle, as if afraid to scare you away.
"Don't stop," You said, breathless, as she cupped your breast and rolled your nipple between her fingers.
You could feel yourself getting wet, the ache between your legs growing more intense. Natasha was relentless, her touch firm but tender, and you were drowning in the sensations.
"Please, Nat," you begged, not sure what exactly you were asking for, but you needed her more than anything.
"Shhh," She cooed. "Let me take care of you."
She began kissing down your neck, her tongue tracing the line of your collarbone. You gasped, your body responding to her touch as if it was made for her.
"I'm glad you wore a dress tonight," She said, her voice low and husky. "It makes things so much easier."
Before you could respond, she was lifting your skirt, exposing your thighs. She traced a path with her fingers, slowly making her way up. She took note of your lack of stockings and garter.
"Oh, no undergarments?" She teased. "You naughty thing."
Your face was hot as she slid her hand between your legs, her fingers teasing at your entrance. You couldn't hold back a moan, the pleasure too intense.
"Is this okay?" She asked, her touch light and deliberate.
"Yes," You gasped, your hips rocking against her hand.
She bit her lip, watching your facial expressions and chest heaving.
"I want to try something," She bit her lip. "If you're okay with it."
"Anything," You moaned.
She smiled and removed her fingers, placing them in her mouth. You could only stare, transfixed, as she licked them clean.
"You taste even sweeter down here," she said, her tone full of mischief. She dropped to her knees and, without another word, buried her face between your legs.
"Oh," you whimpered, feeling her tongue lick a long stripe over your sex. She hummed against your skin, sending vibrations through you.
"You like that?" She asked, looking up at you with hooded eyes.
"Yes," You breathed, barely able to form the word. Based on your responses, she could tell this was your first experience with a person's mouth there.
She was unrelenting, her tongue finding every spot that made you cry out and then some. The sounds coming from her were positively sinful, and they only added to the pleasure building within you. You were lost in the feeling, unable to do anything but let go and surrender to the waves of ecstasy crashing over you.
Your orgasm hit you hard, and you cried out, gripping the cushions beneath you. Natasha's grip tightened on your thighs as she helped you ride out the aftershocks.
"How was that?" She asked, a self-satisfied grin on her face.
You could only stare at her, completely speechless.
"That good, huh?" She chuckled, licking her lips.
"More," You demanded, your voice hoarse.
Natasha was happy to oblige until a distinct smell came into the air.
"Something's burning," You said, alarmed.
"Shit," Natasha exclaimed, leaping up and running toward the kitchen.
You followed her, quickly taking the pan out of the oven and opening a window.
"Damn it," Natasha cursed, looking down at the charred brisket. "I was so distracted, I forgot about dinner."
"It's alright," You reassured her. "The important thing is that we're together."
She smiled, the expression warming her features. "I couldn't agree more."
"We should eat something," You said.
"I'm not sure there's anything edible left," she joked.
"I can make some sandwiches," you suggested, not wanting the night to end. You looked over at Natasha's face. Her lipstick was smudged, and her hair was a mess. You couldn't help but giggle at the sight.
"What?" Natasha asked, looking at you.
"Nothing," you said, grinning. You reached across you to wipe her mouth. "Was it enjoyable for you to do that? It seemed awfully one-sided."
Natasha blushed. "I enjoyed it."
You gave her a coy look, feeling brave.
"Do you want me to... um... return the favor?"
Natasha swallowed hard, her gaze locked on yours. You could see the desire burning in her eyes. She leaned forward to kiss you, but you hesitated.
"What?"
"Is it proper for us to kiss after?" You asked. "I mean, you did just..."
Natasha grinned, shaking her head. "Nothing about what we did is proper. "
"Then why do we bother doing it?" You asked.
"Because it's fun," Natasha replied, her voice low and seductive. "And because I'm selfish. I want to see how far we can go before the neighbors start to gossip."
You couldn't help but laugh at that, your heart racing at her boldness. You leaned in and kissed her, the taste of you on her lips sending a thrill through you.
"To the bedroom," She said, standing and pulling you with her.
"But what about the sandwiches?"
"Screw the sandwiches," Natasha said, her expression dark with desire. "I want to fuck you."
You felt a flush spread across your cheeks, and a rush of heat flooded your core.
"Then take me," you breathed, wanting her more than anything.
The two of you made your way to her room, an unfamiliar room. You'd never been in her bedroom before. There was no reason to be, considering. She was a very private person. But now, you were both ready to take this relationship to the next level.
Once inside, she wasted no time in pulling you close, her hands exploring your body as she kissed you deeply. You could feel her urgency, her need, and it fueled your own.
"Let me undress you," she murmured, her breath warm against your ear.
"Natasha, let me spoil you," you insisted, wanting to repay the favor. "You deserve."
She didn't protest this time. Instead, she simply nodded, a small smile curving her lips. You stepped back, allowing her to watch as you slowly stripped off your dress.
"Beautiful," she breathed, her gaze lingering on your bare breasts.
You blushed, feeling self-conscious under her scrutiny.
"Don't be shy," she said, her tone soothing. "You're perfect."
You couldn't help but smile at her praise, and you were suddenly filled with renewed confidence.
You stepped toward her, reaching for the hem of her sweater. You lifted it slowly, exposing her smooth skin.
She wasn't wearing a bra, and her breasts were just as perfect as the rest of her. You couldn't resist running your hands over them, feeling her nipples harden beneath your touch.
"You're amazing," you whispered, kissing her.
She responded eagerly, her lips parting to allow your tongue entrance.
The kiss quickly heated, and you pushed her back toward the bed. You both fell onto the soft sheets, your bodies tangled together.
Natasha was the one to break the kiss, her green eyes dark with lust.
"I want to do what you did to me in the den," You blushed. "I've never done that before. Will you show me how you like it?"
Natasha was more than happy to oblige. She lifted to remove her pants and underwear. Then, she laid back and spread her legs, allowing you to get a good look at her.
She was glistening with arousal, and the sight was almost enough to make you come right then and there.
"Go ahead," she encouraged, her voice low and husky. "Taste me."
You bit your lip, leaning in and pressing against her center. It was a simple kiss, one that garnered a weak expression. She was being patient with you. Her scent was intoxicating. Musky and uniquely her.
"Again," She urged gently. "But, harder."
You did as she said, putting more pressure behind the kiss. You could feel her body tense, her breathing growing heavier.
"More," she pleaded. "Use your tongue."
You obeyed, flicking your tongue against her, causing her to moan softly.
"Oh, fuck," she gasped, her hips bucking against your mouth.
"Is that okay?" You asked, worried you were doing something wrong.
"More than okay," she assured you, her hand resting on your head. "Just keep going." She directed your head where she wanted it, and you happily complied.
"Yes," she groaned, her grip tightening. "Just like that."
Her sounds were intoxicating, and you found yourself getting more and more turned on by her reactions. Recalling where her tongue had taken you, you decided to try something new.
You puckered your lips and suckled the sensitive bud there, earning a loud moan from Natasha.
"That's it," she gasped, her back arching off the bed. "Keep going."
You continued the motion, alternating between sucking and flicking your tongue. Her taste was addictive, and you couldn't get enough of it.
"I'm close," she warned, her voice strained. "Don't stop."
You picked up the pace, wanting to bring her to the edge. You could feel her body tensing, her breathing becoming ragged. You appreciated the fact that she could tell you how she felt, as this form of sex was not a common practice.
Suddenly, her body went rigid, and a cry tore from her lips. Her release was intense, her muscles clenching and releasing in waves.
You kept going, wanting to draw out her pleasure for as long as possible. She was breathtaking like this, lost in the throes of ecstasy. You'd never seen anything so beautiful.
As her body finally began to relax, you slowed your movements, bringing her down from her high. You rested your head against her thigh and waited for her.
"Come here," she said, her voice shaky.
You crawled up her body, meeting her lips in a deep kiss.
"That was incredible," she murmured, a lazy smile across her face. "Not bad for your first time."
"I had a good teacher," you replied, returning her smile. You slipped under the sheets.
"And a very willing student," she teased.
You settled into her arms, both of you content and satisfied.
"Sex with you is," You began.
"Incredible?" She smirked.
"It is, but also... it's just so easy," you explained. "Being with you is like breathing."
Natasha didn't speak but drew you closer, kissing gently on your temple.
"I'm learning so much," You continued. "Thank you for letting me explore with you."
Natasha's expression softened, and she leaned in to kiss you, slow and tender.
"You're welcome," she whispered, her voice full of affection."Why do you do that?" She questioned.
"Do what?" You asked, unsure what she was referring to.
"Hide from me," She said, her gaze trailing over your bare skin. "There's no need. Not here."
You swallowed, not knowing how to respond.
"I've had a child," You answered. "My body isn't as..."
"It's perfect," She interrupted. "Just like the rest of you."
She was right, you decided. Why should you hide from her? After all, she had seen you in all your naked glory. It was only fair that you returned the favor.
Slowly, you emerged from beneath the sheets, letting her look her fill.
"Beautiful," she murmured, her eyes filled with desire. "Absolutely beautiful."
"Come here," She instructed, holding out her arms.
You obliged, crawling into her embrace. Her lips met yours, and the kiss quickly grew heated.
You found yourself straddling her, her hands exploring your body, and the ache between your legs intensified. You wanted her, needed her.
"Please," you whispered, desperate for her touch.
"Tell me what you want," she said, her voice low and husky.
"You," you replied, unable to articulate more than that.
"Then you shall have me," she said, rolling the two of you so she was on top.
"How would you like to come this time?" She asked, her hands cupping your breasts.
"Whatever you want," You answered, eager to give yourself to her.
She chuckled, her lips curling into a devilish grin. "Then we're in for a long night."
And with that, she proceeded to show you exactly how many times a woman could orgasm in a single night.
By the end, you were utterly spent, your body exhausted and sated. You lay against the pillows, your eyes closed, trying to catch your breath.
Natasha was curled around you, her body pressed against yours, her head resting on your shoulder.
"I could stay here forever," She said, her voice sleepy.
"Me too," You agreed, your own eyes heavy. "I should probably go home soon."
"What if you didn't?" She suggested, her fingers tracing idle patterns on your skin.
"What do you mean?" You asked, confused.
"What if you stayed here with me?" She elaborated, her words slow and deliberate.
"It's risky," You sighed. "If anyone found out—"
"I know," She interrupted, her tone soft. "But we've been doing a good job keeping this a secret. No one suspects anything. Besides, I can't bear the thought of not having you by my side tonight."
You considered her words, your heart pounding in your chest. It was true; the two of you had been careful. And, you had to admit, spending the night in her arms was tempting.
"Okay," You finally said, making up your mind. "I'll stay."
Natasha's smile lit up her face, and she kissed you, her lips warm and soft.
"Good," she said, her eyes sparkling. "Because I can't get enough of you."
***********
You stood by the armchair, slipping back into your heels quickly. The soft sound of your dress fabric brushing against your legs filled the quiet room. Natasha sat on the edge of the sofa, still in her robe, nursing a cup of coffee that smelled rich and inviting.
"Leaving so soon?" she asked, her tone casual but her eyes sharp, observing every movement you made.
You gave her a fleeting smile, smoothing out the creases in your dress. "Claire’s coming home soon. She spent the night with my mother, but you know how she gets—she’s practically attached to my hip.”
"Mm," Natasha hummed, sipping her coffee.
"They’ll be back soon, too," you said, avoiding her gaze as you adjusted your earring. The rush in your movements betrayed the careful calm in your voice.
Natasha set her cup down, leaning forward slightly. "You’re in a hurry," she noted, her voice softer now, almost teasing but edged with something more. "Do you regret our night together?"
You froze for a split second, feeling her words settle uncomfortably in the air. You knew you shouldn’t feel guilty. You hadn’t done anything wrong—or had you? Shaking off the thought, you reached for your purse.
"I just don’t want to raise any questions," you said, your tone light. "It’s nothing."
Natasha’s voice followed you, stopping you in your tracks. "Do you think about it?"
You turned to face her, her words catching you off guard. "Think about what?"
Her green eyes stayed on yours, steady and unflinching. "What it would’ve been like if things were different. If we were different."
You blinked, caught in her gaze, the question hanging in the air. "Natasha," you began, trying to find the words. "I—"
"It's alright," she said, her lips quirking up. "I understand. We have our responsibilities. And, besides, some things can't be changed, no matter how hard we wish they could."
Her words cut through you, and you felt a wave of sadness.
"I'm sorry," You sighed. "I enjoyed my night with you. I really did."
"I know," She reassured. "So did I. We should do it again sometime." She opened her arms for a hug.
"I would love that," You answered. She breathed in your scent, smelling herself all over your body, and hummed.
"The idea of him touching you makes me crazy," she murmured. "But I also love smelling my scent on you. I bet he wouldn't be able to do a quarter of what I did to you last night."
It's the first time you've heard her be so possessive. Your breath caught in your throat at her words.
"It's only fair," She continued. "You should have let me mark you."
You felt a surge of arousal course through you at her words but also a flicker of unease. It was dangerous territory, the two of you getting so attached.
"We have to be careful," You warned, though it was the last thing you wanted. "Someone could find out."
"Would it be so bad if they did?" Natasha knew she was being reckless, but she didn't care. All she cared about was you. She nuzzled her nose into your neck.
"Natasha," You protested, your resolve weakening. "We can't."
"Yes, we can," She said, her voice low and seductive. "Just think about it, being with me every day, sharing our lives."
It was tempting, but you knew it was impossible. "It would never work," You said, trying to sound firm, but the words came out sad.
Natasha’s brows furrowed as she pulled back slightly, her piercing gaze locking onto yours. "Why wouldn’t it work?" she challenged, her voice steady, though there was a hint of frustration beneath it.
"Because it’s not just about us," you admitted, your hands trembling as you stepped away, needing space to think clearly. "I’m scared, Natasha. Scared of what this... of what you make me feel."
"Scared?" Natasha repeated, her tone sharp now, almost incredulous. "What’s there to be scared of? Isn’t it scarier to stay in something that doesn’t make you happy?"
You shook your head, your voice cracking as you tried to explain. "It’s not that simple. I love Sam. He’s a good man. And I don’t want to hurt him—or Steve."
Her jaw tightened, and for a moment, she looked away, exhaling deeply. "You should have thought about that before," she said quietly, her words cutting like a knife.
"I know," you replied, guilt heavy in your chest. "And maybe... maybe that’s why we need to cool down. This—whatever this is—it’s too much, Nat. It’s moving too fast, and I... I could lose Claire."
Natasha blinked, clearly taken aback. "Lose Claire?" she repeated, her voice filled with disbelief. "That’s ridiculous. Sam would never take her away from you."
"You don’t understand," you said, your voice rising as panic bubbled. "You can’t understand because you don’t have children. You don’t know what it’s like to have your entire life revolve around them, to know that one wrong move could take them away from you."
The words hung in the air, heavy and biting. Natasha’s face hardened a flicker of hurt, crossing her features before she masked it. "You think I wouldn’t understand?" she asked, her voice quieter now but no less intense.
"I didn’t mean it like that," you said quickly, regret pooling in your stomach.
"But you did," she countered, stepping closer, her gaze uncompromising. "You think because I don’t have children because I can’t have children, that I wouldn’t understand what it means to love someone so much it scares you?"
You froze, her words hitting you like a punch to the gut. "Natasha, I—"
"Don’t," she interrupted, her voice thick with emotion. "You’re scared, fine. But don’t you dare stand there and tell me I don’t understand love? That’s the one thing I do understand."
The room fell silent. Natasha’s breathing was steady but labored, as though she was holding back everything she wanted to say.
"I’m sorry," you whispered, your voice breaking. "I didn’t mean to hurt you. I’m just... I’m trying to do the right thing."
She let out a bitter laugh, shaking her head. "The right thing? For who? For Sam? For Steve? When do you start doing the right thing for yourself?" Natasha sniffled. "You're right." She said. "You should go home and prepare for Sam."
"Natasha," you started, but she held up her hand.
You stood there, conflicted, unsure of how to proceed when she moved towards you. For a moment, it seemed like she was going to say something more, but instead, she reached out, cupping your cheek with a tenderness that surprised you.
"You're a good friend," She murmured. She placed a final kiss on your lips before pulling back. "I suppose you can see your way out."
She turned and walked down the hall, leaving you alone.
You stared after her, feeling the ache in your chest grow, and tried to ignore the sense of loss that was settling in.
You told yourself that you were doing the right thing, even as tears spilled down your cheeks. It was the right thing.
And yet, as you walked out the door and headed home, you couldn't help but feel like a part of you had stayed behind.

thinking about vi in a suit...
cw: vi x reader, fluff, smut (18+ mdni); bottom!vi, top!reader, fingering (vi! receiving), semi-public sex
thinking about vi who absolutely hates the idea of wearing one and can’t understand why she can’t just wear something comfortable to this formal party you’re taking her to.
thinking about vi who grumbles under her breath but agrees anyway because, well, she’d do just about anything for you.
thinking about vi who looks so pretty and handsome at the same time and she starts to get why people might like this whole dressing up thing when she sees herself in the mirror—a sleek but slightly baggy black suit, snug in all the right places, showing off her broad shoulders and toned build. but what really sells it is the way you keep stealing glances at her, biting your lip, humming in approval, all while you squirm in your seat, thighs she’d very much like to be in between pressing against each other.
thinking about vi who sticks close to you at first, still feeling a little out of her element at the actual party. it really does help that you look so stunning tonight, dressed in a sexy gown that pretty much distracts her from every other thought crowding in her mind.
thinking about vi who quickly notices the subtle changes in your behavior throughout the night. you’re touching her more—adjusting her tie, smoothing her lapel, fixing her belt, tucking in her shirt properly. and when you lean in close, pretending to whisper in her ear about something but really just breathing in her cologne, she picks up on it immediately.
thinking about vi who can’t help the smug grin spreading across her face when you finally pull her away from the party by her tie, dragging her to some secluded hallway or empty room.
thinking about vi who asks breathlessly against your lips, “what’s wrong, princess?”
you’re too worked up to play along, and when you push her against the wall, she lets out a low chuckle, tilting her head back slightly to look at you.
thinking about vi who likes it when you’re all handsy, clawing at the suit, wanting to get it off her, despite working so very hard to convince her to wear one.
thinking about helping vi slip her pants down slightly so you can put a hand into those checkered boxers of hers, feeling her happy trail against your wrist and how wet she is against your fingers. she groans and mutters lowly, “baby, please…” then leans her head back against the wall behind her when you finally slip inside her.
thinking about vi who is struggling so much to stay quiet, whimpering so prettily and breathing so heavily against you when you fuck her harder and faster, her hands gripping your dress for some sort of leverage.
thinking about vi who cums hard around your fingers, wet and sticky, while your other hand pulls her by her tie to crash her lipstick-stained lips against yours as she whimpers into your mouth, her body still trembling.
thinking about vi who looks so good standing slumped against the wall, her hair all tousled, your lipstick slightly smeared across her lips, some red marks peppered on her cheeks and jaw, black tie loosened around neck, her tattoos peeking out under her collar, her blazer almost slipping off her shoulders, one side of her buttoned shirt untucked and her pants loose with her belt undone at her waist.
and with a smirk tugging on the corner of her lips, she says, “hah… think i should wear this more often…”

operation: no hate, just date | 심재윤
pairing. jake sim x idol!gf!reader
the objective is clear—make both of your fans believe that you and jake, in fact, don’t hate each other by convincing them that you’re actually in love. which you are. sadly, jake doesn’t get to shout it from the rooftops like he desperately wants to. instead he’s trapped in an elaborate plan that’s moving at a snail’s pace, but one night on weverse with the boys might speed things up.
genre. fluff & very very mildly suggestive
a/n. this is the second part to loverboy! you can read it by itself if u want but it might be more fun if u don’t lol enjoy! x
it’s been a week since jake and you were pulled aside and shoved into a meeting room where an unforeseen entourage informed him that he sucks at being your boyfriend but makes for a great arch nemesis. he had left that intervention feeling annoyed and his privacy violated, but at least they had a plan. whether that plan is a good one is still up for debate.
grey sweater guy from pr keeps responding to yuki’s plentiful emails with stupid roundabouts of how patience is a virtue and playing the long game always benefits the player. the problem is jake has no patience, and the only person who seems to get it is you.
which is likely why even after the fourth facetime call of the day, his darling-angel of a girlfriend has yet to tell him to piss off. he keeps peeking at his phone, which he has propped up against his pillow, only to begrudgingly return to his scattered lego set, positive he’ll crash out if he doesn’t hear your voice soon.
when the call finally connects and you appear on the screen, it’s like watching the sun rise. jake can feel the tension leaving his body and a lopsided smile curving over his lips. he’s hopeless, really.
you grin through the phone, hands in your hair as you tie it back, and say by way of greeting, “yunjin showed me a tiktok earlier.”
abandoning whatever he was building, jake scoots closer to his phone. “what was it about?”
“us, of course,” you say cheerily, and jake swears his heart skips a beat. not because he’s anxious of what you’re about to say but because it happens every time you refer to him and you as an item. an entity. it’s embarrassing but he kind of likes it. he likes being an idiot for you.
“someone put together a bunch of clips of everything we’ve been doing this week and it blew up on twitter.” you gently rub your oil cleanser over your face.
jake perks up at your words. he didn’t think anyone would’ve noticed any of the stuff he was told to do as part of the stupid plan. an unsettling concoction of excitement and terror swirls in his stomach. “what did they say?” he asks, fiddling with a lego piece.
you take a moment to wipe off your eye makeup, scrunching your nose when jake calls you a panda. “apparently people have been noticing how close we stood on the encore stage and that we kept looking at each other. it’s funny—i didn’t realise in that moment, but when i watched it back it looked like you’re either creeping up on me or you’re extremely terrified.”
jake tilts his head. “terrified of what? you?” he furrows his brows. “i just looked at you a couple of times like they told us to.”
“i know you did.” you turn off the faucet and grab a towel to dry off your face, trying to keep the amusement in your voice at bay. “but, babe, you’re either staring me down—unblinking—or you’re casting glances at me like you’re scared i’ll turn around and jump you.” you can’t help but giggle. “someone commented, ‘i can’t tell if jake is contemplating if he should push y/n off the stage or if he should throw himself off it.’”
jake gawks at you with his mouth agape. “that’s what they’re saying?”
you nod. he falls backward with a groan and covers his faces with his arms. “i can’t believe it. that’s what it looked like to them? really?”
“i know.” you say, more amused than empathetic.
“that’s crazy,” he says, pushing himself upright again, hair sticking out even messier than it had before. “i’m actively trying to act like a lovesick fool—which i am! don’t even—and people still think i’m trying to break your neck? that’s insane.”
you hum supportively. “at least some people believe you were offering to break your own neck for me. that’s romantic, right? we might be on the right track here.” you keep your tone playful, but jake looks at you with his starry eyes and pouty lips, resembling nothing short of a kicked puppy.
“i’m sorry i keep messing this up,” he says and the thinness in his voice makes your heart break.
“jake, you’re not messing anything up.” he looks at his hands, avoiding your gaze. “you can’t control these things, people will interpret and perceive it however they like. it’s always been this way, and it’s always been out of our control. doesn’t mean it’s your fault.”
“i don’t know, y/n,” he says quietly, and the sight of him hanging his head has you nearly sneaking out of the dorms and going over to his. you’ve never seen him look this miserably at a lego set before. “if i wasn’t so awkward and knew what to do, we wouldn’t even be in this mess.”
“no one’s perfect and all-knowing.” you pick up your phone with a frown. “and why do you keep calling it a mess? is that what you think this is?” you enter your room and get into your bed. jake looks up at the sounds of your blanket and wishes desperately he was there with you.
instead, he loosens a breath and sweeps the lego pieces onto the manual, placing it on the floor and going under the blanket as well. “what else should i call it?” he says. “it’s not a blessing.”
you ponder his words. “a mess would be our sex tape getting leaked or people making up rumours that we’re drug dealers or cannibals.”
jake cocks his head. “like hannibal?”
“i meant more like in ‘bones and all’ but sure.”
“oh.” he scratches his face. “well, we’re neither of those things. we also don’t have a sex tape.” the corner of his mouth quirks up.
“no, we don’t.” you pout, forcing a mock sigh. “but we could always make one? ‘operation: no hate, no date,’ am i right?” you waggle your eyebrows at him, prompting a wry smile to flicker across his face.
“they’ll watch it and come to the conclusion that i hate you even more.”
you huff a laugh. “we will probably also get kicked out of hybe and have to start slinging fishcakes on the street. which sounds like fun, to be honest. oh! we could make our own jingle and sing it for our customers. maybe we won’t even have to make the fishcakes if we’re successful enough.”
this earns you a laugh. “that’s just busking, baby. what you want to do is busk.”
you gasp in fake surprise before settling for a rueful sigh. “i am but an artist.”
jake presses his lips together as if to say ‘good riddance, what tragic calling’ with a saddened face before the two of you dissolve into giggles.
“okay, i get it.” he turns to lie on his side, face squished against his pillow. “going from idol to man with leaked sex tape who sings on the street and runs an unsuccessful fishcake stand would be a mess. but this is not?”
“correct.”
“i’m so relieved then.” he grins toothily at you and, of course, you reciprocate it. an involuntarily yawn slips through your lips and jake coos at you.
“is my girl tired after working hard all day?”
“she’s exhausted,” you affirm with bleary eyes. “you seem chipper for someone who’s usually drooling on his pillow by midnight.”
jake shrugs. “i’m not sleepy yet.”
you hold back another yawn. “do you want me to stay awake until you are?”
he smiles at you fondly, relishing in the softness of your drowsy voice. “it’s all right. you should go to sleep, baby.” he glances at the clock on his phone. “i think i’ll go live for a bit. haven’t done one in a while.”
“aren’t we feeling chatty tonight,” you tease, eyes fully closed now. jake swears he actually dies at how cute you look and smashes that screenshot button repeatedly. “i’ll leave you to it then. greet engenes for me.”
he grimaces. “if i do that, you’ll get your jingle and fishcake dreams fulfilled by tomorrow morning because we’ll both be unemployed.”
“sounds lovely.” you rub your eyes.
“yeah,” jake merely whispers, attention span momentarily off the rails as his doting gaze traces your face. he takes another screenshot for good measure. “good night, pretty girl,” he says tenderly, raspy voice and all. “see you tomorrow for the dance challenge and the fishcakes.”
a giggle bubbles out of you, and you crack your eyes open to offer your best, dozy smile. “and the busking. don’t forget the busking.”
“i would never. i’ll even steal one of jay’s guitars.”
you nod, pleased. “we’ll be on the run like bonnie and clyde. except for all the atrocities, of course.”
jake helplessly swoons. “i love you.”
“i love you too. good night, baby.”
the intensity at which his pulse quickens and his stomach tumbles needs to be studied because it should not be humanly possible to be so goddamn whipped. he’s not ashamed to admit that he could write lines upon lines of poetry right now just to ode your every quality and marvel at the curve of your mouth.
again, hopeless. but he’s more than okay with it.
so what if he flips onto his stomach right after the call ends, smiling blissfully into his pillow and kicking his feet? he might not be a lover boy, but he is in love.
with that same crooked smile that is probably etched onto his face forever, he opens the weverse app on his phone and opts for a voice live. as the first few people pool in, he gets lost in mindless chatter. it’s always nice to do lives at night. mainly because they make him drowsy.
at some point, he gets up for the bottle on his desk, hoping that chugging some water will wake him up. but when he returns to his bed and glances at his phone, comments keep flooding in at a speed that make them very hard to read.
“what’s this?” he chuckles nervously. “what happened? i just went to get some water.”
enhaswife: jungwon is live!! go live with him plss
sim hitomi: jungwonnie is live~~
xo, liz: CAN U GO LIVE WITH JUNGWON ‼️
“jungwonnie is live?” jake raises a brow. “that’s actually pretty early for him. it’s not even one yet.” he settles back into his bed. “i was here first though, so you guys have to tell him to come. tell him to come send a request.”
he watches the number of viewers decline rapidly, all of them seemingly leaving to do his bidding. he wields too much power and it might actually go to his head, he thinks to himself in amusement. “i told him,” he reads out loud. “i told him, he’s coming, i told him. you guys are so cute.”
not long after, the request pops up and jake is quick to accept it. his screen splits in two before jungwon’s eager face appears before him.
“yooiii,” jake greets him with a wide smile.
“yoooiiii,” jungwon practically shouts into his phone with excitement that is more appropriate for daylight hours. “what’s this? why aren’t you showing your face, hyung? are you naked?”
“what?” jake guffaws, adjusting his phone. “no, my hair’s just all over the place. engenes don’t need to see me like this.”
“oh, okay.” jungwon nods understandably as his eyes flit over the computer screen before him. the song that’s currently playing in the background changes to a more calm melody, and jake sinks further into his blanket, nearly letting out a moan at how snug he feels. “he’s bald, by the way.”
jake jolts so hard he nearly tumbles out of his bed.
“jungwon!” he watches as the comments explode into chaos. “oh my god, what have you done.”
the younger boy ignores him. “ni-ki shaved his head after practice, you know. he got the clippers from hair and makeup and went right at it. they weren’t too happy about it, but it went well. thankfully, i am so happy to announce that our hyung does not have an egghead.”
jake burst out laughing, glimpsing how jungwon’s smile expands with delight when he hears it. “i nearly lost an ear, but yes. all’s good.”
“he gave his hair to jay,” jungwon continues for no apparent reason except to bring jay into this. “he put it in a nice ziplock bag and gave it to him. jay almost cried. he was really touched.”
jake is clutching his sides, trying to keep his laughter down. before he can speak, a highlighted message pops up in the comments.
JAY: Ya! Why are you ruining my image
JAY: When jake gave me his bag of hair I wept
JAY: I wept.
JAY: Get your facts straight punk
“hyung!” jungwon says delightfully. “you’re here too. what’s going on, why are we all awake? is this a party?”
“it’s just us three here,” jake remarks, still chuckling. “what party only has three guests?”
jungwon shrugs. “i’ve never been to one.”
JAY: Me neither
jake cups his neck, deciding to join them despite the fact that there are plenty of pictures of them at several afterparties. “me neither.”
JAY: Wow
“wooow,” jungwon echoes, lips tugging into a smirk. jake frowns. did he miss something? before he can address it, a comment stands out to him.
“yes, we are a sad bunch,” he says jokingly in response to it. “you’re breaking my heart, engenes. no need to rub it in.”
jungwon snickers. “these comments are so fun tonight. i usually only get song recommendations. seriously, what’s happening? where are all my engenes who ask me to play chamber 5 for the eighth time?”
JAY: It’s because I’m here
JAY: I bring the smart ones
JAY: Also can you play chamber 5
“it’s my live.” jake scoffs when he reads jay’s comments. “they were here before you two came, and we always have very stimulating discussions.”
that’s not true. earlier’s heated topic of conversation was whether a tiger or a tiger shark would win in a fight. but jungwon and jay don’t need to know that.
“oh, hey, we’re tripple j,” jake randomly observes while suppressing a yawn.
“we are!” jungwon says enthusiastically. “the moment jay came in, all the comments were saying tripple j. imagine if all of our names started with a j. septuple j!”
JAY: Junghoon
JAY: Jeeseung, junoo, ji-ki
JAY: Annyeonghasaeyo, jenhypen-imnida
jake snorts. he glances at the time and lets another yawn overtake him. “guys, i think i’ll go to sleep. i can barely hold my eyes open.”
“i was waiting for you to say that,” jungwon quips.
“oh?” jake pushes himself up to fluff his pillow. “why? do i sound tired?”
JAY: Ow hay weor wibble j
jake furrows his brows, nearly suffering a stroke trying to read that. “hah. you’re funny.”
JAY: yoar wonny
“ahjussi, please go to bed,” jake says fondly and pulls his blanket up to his ears, letting it almost swallow him. “you’re talking gibberish again.”
JAY: :(((
jungwon ignores them, typing away on his keyboard. “i think i’ll continue my live for a bit if engenes want to join me.”
“yes, keep him company, guys.” jake yawns once more and quickly skims the comments one last time. his mind has become delirious, not really making sense of any of the words on his screen. he’s no longer thinking straight. he’s not thinking, period. which might be why his focus zeroes in on your name as it passes by.
he scrolls back up, looking for it, and finds himself reading it out loud without a second thought.
“do you want me to fight y/n for you?”
he lets his arm fall over his eyes with a funny expression on his face that no one can see and that he’s not even aware of. a mental image of you occupies half of his mind while the other half has simply shut off.
chuckling, he replies, “nah, i can take her.”
it goes quiet in the room as jake’s breathing evens out and jungwon’s typing slows down.
“hyung,” he says with emphasis, a warning tone laced in his voice. jake blinks an eye open, way too tired to grasp the gravity of what he has done. jungwon, on the other hand, is close to breaking out in hives as the comments go ballistic.
jay is not of much help either. he has left the live to message the group chat, asking if they’re now in trouble and if they’re going to kidnap you and jake again. from what jungwon can gauge based on the rapid fire notifications he’s getting, jay’s coming in clutch with quotes and screenshots of the comments, and heeseung’s immediate reaction is to cackle away.
enhaswife2: wiat whaT DID HE JUST SAY
myseven: oh REALLY >:( y/n count ur days
sunoo’s gf: you sure about that? I can fight
xiiuu7: leave y/n to me, i can handle her for you
jake reads the comments through fluttering eyes, somehow finding it all very entertaining. “oh, i take her just fine, thanks.” he rolls onto his stomach, eyes closed, smiling like an idiot, and mutters into his pillow, “i’ve handled her in more ways you can—”
his door slams open.
not a second later, jungwon stands before him in his pyjamas and snatches his phone out of his hands, breathing heavily. it lands next to jake on his pillow with a thud. screen now black.
“hyung, have you gone mad?!” jungwon stares down at him in bewilderment, his own phone in his hand lightening up every microsecond. “are you actually insane? why would you say that into the microphone?”
jake blinks up at him. “what?”
another person joins them. “what’s going on?” sunoo’s socked feet pad over the floor as he pulls down his headphones, regarding the two of them carefully. “i heard doors slamming.”
wordlessly, jungwon passes him his unlocked phone. it’s opened to a twitter account transcribing and translating in real time what had just been said on their live, including jake’s slurred but still perfectly understandable words. in other words, stan twitter is going insane.
sunoo gasps, eyes widening with each tweet as he scrolls and scrolls and scrolls. he’s reading all kinds of things—engenes who are losing it and speaking of you, your group, and your fans as if there’ll be a sword fight at dawn.
your fans who are thoroughly disoriented and confused but ready to go for blood anyway because ‘what does he MEAN he can take her?? take her WHERE?????’
and people who don’t even listen to either group but are dying over the comedic timing of jake uttering those words, jungwon hurling himself out of his chair, his footsteps thumping in the hallway, the doors banging, and the live ending all under two minutes.
some people also seem to believe that jake is bald for some reason? sunoo shakes his head in disbelief. it’s like the internet has been bored for too long, and this has revived them.
an eternity must’ve passed now, and jungwon is still lecturing a very sleepy jake whose words and actions have finally caught up to him when sunoo suddenly yelps. he practically tosses the phone in the air, and both boys turn to their attention to him. with a gulp, sunoo flips the screen around and holds it at an arm’s length.
“yuki is calling.”
jungwon exchanges a look with jake before he grabs his phone. “hello?” he says, clearing his throat. sunoo leans in to try and listen. jake, on the other hand, stays frozen on his bed, not even daring to breathe.
a heavy sigh sounds on the other line. “jungwon?”
“…yes?”
“there’s a change of plans.”

A.N.I.M. Plans for January 2025
January 9th: Release Patreon Rewards
These will include a further updated and more finished version of Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy, three short stories you may have heard me mention regarding the character Yvette Preux, the adventure modules, and, perhaps most excitingly, a sorta-playable preview of our upcoming new game, Silk&Dagger: A Sensible Drow RPG.
The best way to describe Silk&Dagger in a few sentences might be that it is a unique take on drow that explores what kind of society would actually result in the common tropes associated with them in fiction, and a game about slice-of-life in an oppressive underground society with strictly enforced social hierarchy and behavioral expectations for each social class. Most players will play servants, with one player playing a mistress, all trying to accomplish household tasks while each is weighed down by their own strict class expectations. Another player, a sort of co-GM representing the expectations of society at large, deducts and awards metacurrency based on how well each PC is sticking to what is expected of them. It is a black comedy, with a lot of the humor coming from just how overwhelmingly shitty this strict hierarchy-based society makes life for everyone, and the awkward hoops everyone has to jump through to keep up appearances.
The preview of Silk&Dagger coming to the patreon this month is not finished enough for me to call it fully playable, it doesn't even have proper character creation rules yet, but it does have enough rules and lore that you can get a good idea of how the game is supposed to play. Playtesters who have played this version with the help of me filling in the blanks verbally as we go have all said they really enjoyed it, though.
January 30th: Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy Itchio Beta Update & Adventure Modules Release
January 2025 is when Eureka was originally supposed to be fully finished, but due to delays and, we will admit, an overambitious timeframe, Eureka just isn't fully finished this month. We will, however, be releasing what we have as an update to the free public beta on itchio. Work will still continue on Eureka as it has done, and we plan to have it fully finished by the end of this year at the absolute latest.
Along with this beta update of the rulebook, we are also releasing the beta for Eureka: Investigative Urban Fantasy Mystery Modules Vol 1., which will include the two other Eureka adventure modules that are finished enough to be fully playable: The Eye of Neptune and FORIVA: The Angel Game, both previously only available through our patreon.
And finally,
Make at Least $1,360.82
We need to make at least $1,360.82 in January to keep the studio afloat and for me to continue supporting myself primarily through A.N.I.M. At the time of writing this (January 7th, 2025), we are at $175.30/$1,360.82.
To this end, we are really banking on the Silk&Dagger preview to draw people to the patreon, and getting a lot of itchio sales for both the Eureka beta and the never-before-fully-public adventure modules in the last couple days of the month. If you want to support us and more sure we reach this goal, reblog this post and our other posts and talk about Eureka (we live-and-die on word-of-mouth), and if you want to financially support us directly, here are some links. Thank you for all of your wonderful support thus far.

❥ 𝙿𝚛𝚎𝚝𝚝𝚢… 𝙲𝚕𝚞𝚎𝚕𝚎𝚜𝚜
tripleS! Kim Yooyeon x KIOF 5th member! F reader : In a music bank waiting room, tripleS’ visual has been interested in you for a while now. What she didn’t know was, with your little sister’s recent debut, you decide to drop a visit to make tiktoks with her, and Yooyeon is there with her pretty self… being clueless.
Word Count: 3 k
Author's Note: This one is defo shorter than usual, but I wanted to write one a bit more simple since... I feel like that last one did a number on my brain ngl😭.
Req: @1luvkarina (I DELETED THE REQ ON ACCIDENT SO BARE WITH ME FUC-) A Yooyeon fic, where the reader is SeoAh's older sister, and you're a KIOF member.
➳ Character Concept - Jeong Y/n
The waiting room at the KBS building was always a wild rollercoaster when Music Bank was being filmed. With tripleS, it was chaos, the twenty-four girls taking over several waiting rooms. Today was slightly less intense, as only twelve members were present for the debut of their new subunit, Visionary Vision.
Not that cutting the team in half did much to ease the madness. Girls were scattered everywhere, napping, getting their hair and makeup done, or diving into random activities. In one corner, however, one member sat quietly, completely focused.
The well-known “Ewha Goddess” was always diligent, balancing her idol life with personal indulgences. Even now, Yooyeon had her iPad and Apple Pencil in hand, creating neat, color-coded notes. She wasn’t in school anymore, but she studied whenever she had a spare moment, always preparing in case she decided to return to university.
The television at the room's far end played several performances from idols promoting their comebacks. Yooyeon hadn’t been paying attention—until Kiss of Life appeared on the screen.
Her gaze shifted at the sound of laughter, and there you were, standing with your members as Park Minju and Moon Sangmin interviewed the group.
“So, Y/n, is there any advice for anyone who wants to try dancing to your song?”
You nodded with an easy smile, stepping forward as the others cheered you on. Yooyeon watched as you clasped your hands together, a small but endearing habit she’d noticed since she started following your group.
“So when you lean forward, you always want to have a smug expression or your tongue out,” you demonstrated, sticking your tongue out playfully. “And you want to proceed to do this confidently,” you added with a grin.
The MCs laughed, signaling the music as you danced between them, showing off the signature moves from Igloo.
Yooyeon couldn’t take her eyes off you.
She barely stayed registered for the rest of the interview. Ninety percent of her focus was on you—the way you moved and spoke. You had a natural charm, but it wasn’t just that.
You had this quiet confidence, a poised and commanding presence that pulled people in without effort. You weren’t the eldest in your group, yet you carried yourself like someone who was.
Yooyeon admired that. The way you crossed your legs, sat up straight and managed to keep your members in check during shows left an impression.
Sometimes, she would scroll through social media, seeing clips of you feeding your members during meals, guiding them through chaotic moments, or effortlessly getting people, idols and strangers alike, to follow your lead during variety shows. She’d watch every video she found, her fascination growing each time.
The interview transitioned to the prerecorded stage for Igloo. Yooyeon relaxed in her chair, setting her iPad aside as the music began. The sensual, playful melody filled the room, but her attention stayed on you.
She couldn’t help it—everything about you was captivating. The way you leaned into each move with purpose, the playful glint in your eyes as you taunted the camera with your smug expression.
Yooyeon barely noticed her own members talking in the background. She was too focused on you, her mind racing with thoughts she couldn’t quite articulate but knew would linger long after the performance ended.
You begin the song wearing some black rimless wrap-around sunglasses, a black corset sweater with buckles attached to certain cutouts of the fabric, and a pair of very, very baggy cargo pants that bunch up in the ends as you wear some tall platform boots along with it.
Your boots added to your lengthy stature, as you were taller than all your members. So when you started the performance and strutted in front of the dancers and members, you held this model-like confidence that made fans watching you want to bob their heads along.
I'ma back up every word, yeah Mini skirt (Mini skirt), pretty pink What you heard? (What you heard?) But it's never what you think, trust
Yooyeon was also aware of your fluent English because you went to an international school, which you said in an interview.
With the rabbit hole, the visual fell through while learning about you and your group, and she got to know you fairly well without even speaking to you. The fact that you have a younger brother and sister, your favorite food and drinks are lemon iced tea and bossam, and you are 5’8, and even the fact that you learned how to dance at a dance academy.
It made her feel weird; an idol knowing several things about an idol despite not being friends with them made Yooyeon feel like a weird stalker. You stood in the center at the second chorus, dancing like you showed the MCs, but you were more serious about this.
Yooyeon stared at you as if you were some kind of siren, your eyes covered and looking dangerous, but the motions could be read by a glimpse at your lips. As if you called out to her, you kept rapping:
Heart attack, IV when I walk the street Vitamins that D, I'm good, I'm healthy
Followed by a twerking move that had the visual hiding the bottom half of her face with the use of her hands. She felt the heat rising to her cheeks as she watched the dance, her eyes never leaving your figure.
Finally, Haneul’s trending part was coming up, and you had to take off your sunglasses, acting as if you were cleaning them. Your eyes were covered in a darker, smokey eye look as your piercing gaze could be felt through the screen.
Once the chorus hits, you do the iconic choreography with the rest of the girls, mouthing Haneul’s lines as you then shake your head with your tongue out.
Yooyeon’s eyes never trail from the screen, and her hyperfocus is noticed by Nakyoung, who generally looks over the girls in the waiting room. “Be careful if you stare too hard. Your eyes might pop out,” she says, causing the older girl to flinch in surprise. Yooyeon looks over. Nakyoung had her mouth full of malatang, and an innocent grin formed despite her puffy cheeks.
“I wasn’t staring,” Yooyeon mumbles, and Xinyu butts in, “Oh, please, you couldn’t even fool a kid with that.” Nakyoung nods and takes another sip of her soup, “Do you like Y/n-sunbaenim?”
“First off, stop talking so much with your mouth full. Secondly, of course, I like her. They’re our seniors, after all,” that makes the 02 liners look at each other, giving knowing looks.
“You know she didn’t mean it in that way, unnie,” Yooyeon looked at Xinyu and just shook her head as the two giggled, deciding to focus back on her work.
“You know, for being a ‘fan,’ you seem to not know much about her,” Xinyu points out. The older girl looks at her, confused. Before she can ask what she means by that, it’s time to head on stage. Their manager does a quick headcount in the hallway, ensuring everyone is ready. As Yooyeon waits patiently in line, her attention shifts when, out of the corner of her eye, she notices you, Haneul, and Julie walking into view.
Her breath catches.
She freezes, deer-in-headlights, not expecting to actually see you in person. Sure, Yooyeon has seen you before—idols always run into each other—but this is different. She’s never seen you this close. And smiling. The sound of your laugh carries as Julie gestures animatedly, clearly cracking jokes while posing for you and Haneul.
Julie can’t seem to keep a straight face, breaking into laughter mid-pose. Your maknae lets out a sigh, still giggling. “Unnie~, we can’t stop laughing. Let me go first,” she whines, causing you to chuckle.
“Alright, alright.” You give her a gentle nudge, still smiling, your focus shifting briefly as Julie steps up.
Unintentionally, your eyes wander toward Yooyeon’s group.
Yooyeon quickly looks down, feeling her pulse quicken. ‘Don’t look, don’t look!’ she practically yells at herself, trying to act casual. But then her name is called for rolecall.
“Here!” she blurts, raising her hand on instinct.
It’s a mistake.
Her voice draws your attention.
Your gaze snaps to her, locking eyes before she has time to prepare. Yooyeon feels the heat creeping up her neck, her ears burning red as you wave and smile. It’s small and casual, but her stomach flips at the sight of it.
You think she looks cute, even though their stage outfits are supposed to exude confidence and power. Yooyeon is the only one who feels out of place in that moment, completely caught off guard.
Her group begins moving, but you suddenly dash forward, calling out to Nakyoung before they get too far.
“Hi!” you greet brightly, giving her a quick hug.
Nakyoung responds just as enthusiastically, chatting with you briefly before you return to your members.
Yooyeon stares after you, mouth slightly open in shock.
She hugged Nakyoung? She said hi like she knew her?
Yooyeon suddenly remembers Xinyu’s earlier words, and the realization hits her like a truck. Wait…
SHE KNEW HER?
The thought had Yooyeon pouting and kicking her feet like a sad child on their way to the stage.
Your eyes catch a glimpse of her face, and you find her puffy cheeks and pouty lips adorable. “Cute,” you mumbled as your members were lost in taking photos.
“Y/n, you’re up next,” Julie announces as Haneul gently nudges you towards the staircase. “Did you ask about Haerin?” The older asks, and you nod, “Nakyoung unnie said they won’t have a film schedule on Sunday, but they’ll be at the building, so I could meet them there.”
“Unnie~, can we all go? I haven’t seen Haerin-ie in a while,” Hanuel asks, her cute face pouting innocently as you pat her head. “We’re gonna have to ask manager-nim,” Julie nods, agreeing, and whips out her phone quickly to relay the message.
“It’s been a while since I've seen her,” you say, a heavy sigh leaving your lips. “I’m sure she misses you too,” Hanuel nods at her unnie’s words, “You know she loves you a lot, unnie.”
You smile, feeling more relieved as you think about it, “I get to see her in a few days anyways, no big deal.”
The news had you excited, but it was a struggle to keep it in. After a few more scheduled events throughout the day, the manager finally got back to Julie, giving all you guys permission to go, but only for a limited amount of time. That only gave you more excitement, having you bounce like a bunny in happiness late at night.
You thought of it as a short vacation. Given it’s extremely short, you wouldn’t spend your free time any other way.
It was now Sunday afternoon, and a select few older members of tripleS could be seen seated in a meeting room. Some staff and higher-ups were presenting updates on concepts and potential lineup plans.
With how the tripleS system worked, these meetings were routine, keeping every member in the loop. This time, it was the older girls’ turn to sit through the discussions.
Yooyeon sat near the corner, listening diligently until the meeting finally wrapped up, giving the group some free time. As the girls filtered out, Yooyeon joined Mayu, Xinyu, Nakyoung, and Sohyun, heading toward the practice rooms where the younger members were hanging out.
They walked through the building lobby when an audible gasp broke the casual chatter.
Yooyeon glanced over at Nakyoung, whose face lit up with an unmistakable smile, while Sohyun froze with her mouth slightly open. Curious, Yooyeon followed their gaze toward the main entrance, and stopped in her tracks.
There you were.
Natty, Julie, Belle, Haneul, and you were walking in, chatting and laughing. But all Yooyeon could focus on was you.
You even do anything to command attention, just walking in, yet it comes effortlessly to you. Her mind raced. Why are they here? Why is Y/n here?
Before she could understand, your eyes landed on Nakyoung, and your smile grew wide. You sprinted toward her, arms outstretched, pulling her into a hug that was as rough and yet warm.
“Oh my god, it’s been too long!” you exclaimed, laughing as Nakyoung let out an exaggerated groan.
“Well, it’s nice to see you too. Also, you just saw me like four days ago,” Nakyoung teased, patting your head while you clung to her like a koala.
“Y/n~, let Nakyoung go, please,” Natty called out with a laugh. You pouted in response but let go, your playful grin returning.
Yooyeon stood frozen.
This wasn’t the Y/n she had imagined. The confident, composed image she’d seen on stage and in videos was replaced with someone incredibly… cute. It caught her off guard. Her thoughts spiraled. Why does she seem even more attractive now?
A nudge from Xinyu snapped her out of it, and she quickly looked away, hoping no one noticed her staring.
“She’s upstairs in the practice room,” Nakyoung said warmly, glancing between you and the group. “We were just heading there. You guys can come with us.”
“Perfect timing,” you said with a grin, motioning for your group to follow them.
The ten of you squeezed into the elevator with ease, yet the space felt tighter than it was. You ended up toward the back, shoulder-to-shoulder with Yooyeon.
She was quiet, keeping her eyes fixed ahead, but you caught the subtle tension in her posture. Bowing slightly, you flashed her a polite smile. “Hi! Nice to meet you,” you said, your voice friendly yet calm and quiet.
Yooyeon’s heart stuttered in her chest. “H-hi,” she stammered, dipping her head in return. Her voice was barely audible, and she instantly hated how awkward she sounded.
It didn’t faze you, though. You leaned back slightly, still smiling, a casual ease about you that almost felt teasing. It wasn’t overbearing—it was just… natural.
Standing beside Yooyeon, Nakyoung noticed the interaction and bit back a chuckle. Her eyes flicked to Yooyeon’s face, which was already starting to flush.
“You good, unnie?” Nakyoung whispered, her tone laced with amusement.
Yooyeon nudged her with her elbow, her face turning an even deeper shade of red. “Stop,” she muttered under her breath, not daring to look at you.
The ride up felt endless yet too short for Yooyeon. Every small movement you made, brushing a stray strand of hair back, shifting your weight slightly, somehow caused her body to heat up with her brain in a frenzy. When the elevator finally chimed, she exhaled softly as if she’d been holding her breath the entire time.
The group filed into the practice room, and the noise inside died down almost instantly as the girls noticed you. Whispers filled the room until, from the far corner, an excited squeal rang out.
“Unnie!” SeoAh’s voice was unmistakable. She bolted across the room, throwing herself into your arms with a force that nearly toppled you.
“Haerin!” you laughed, hugging her tightly. “Oh my god, it’s been forever!”
She pulled back just enough to look at you, her eyes wide with a mix of excitement and disbelief. “You didn’t tell me you were coming!” she pouted her lower lip jutting.
“Surprise?” you teased, grinning as she playfully smacked your arm.
Yooyeon lingered near the doorway, watching the reunion unfold. Her brows furrowed as she processed the scene.
“Wait,” she whispered to Nakyoung. “That’s her sister?”
Nakyoung smirked knowingly. “You didn’t know? Some fan you are,” she teased, nudging Yooyeon’s side.
Yooyeon’s jaw tightened as embarrassment flooded her system. She glanced back at you, her thoughts racing. Haerin was your sister?!
After catching up with SeoAh, you turned to the rest of the room, clapping your hands together. “Alright, let’s make some TikToks! Who’s in?”
The energy in the room shifted immediately. Girls paired off into groups, the buzz of excitement contagious.
Julie teamed up with Xinyu and Nakyoung, their sharp, synchronized moves to a Performante drawing cheers. Natty and Haneul joined Sohyun and Dahyun for Girls Never Die, hyping each other up with exaggerated moves and laughter.
Meanwhile, you pulled SeoAh aside for a cuter rendition of Get Loud. The two of you added silly gestures between the choreography, giggling when one of you missed a beat. The room was filled with laughter as the other girls watched, your easy dynamic with SeoAh radiating warmth.
When you wrapped up the TikTok, SeoAh turned toward Yooyeon with a mischievous glint in her eye. “Unnie,” she called out, her grin widening. “You should do Igloo with Yooyeon. She knows it really well!”
Yooyeon froze, her eyes widening in panic. “What?”
You turned to her, tilting your head slightly, curiosity flickering in your expression. “You know Igloo?”
Yooyeon swallowed hard. “Uh… yeah, I guess…” she mumbled, her voice betraying her nerves.
“Perfect!” you said brightly, stepping toward her. “Let’s do it together.”
Her pulse quickened as you stood beside her. Your presence was undeniably charming. You were calm and effortlessly made friends. Yet, your deep tone made it hard for her to feel completely intimidated.
Sensing her hesitation, you leaned in slightly, lowering your voice so only she could hear. “Don’t worry,” you said with a soft smile. “It’s just for fun. If you mess up, I’ll mess up too, so we’re even.”
Your words were simple, but they worked. She nodded, exhaling a shaky breath. “Okay,” she said quietly.
As the music started, you moved first, setting the rhythm. Yooyeon followed, her movements hesitant but growing more confident with each step. You threw in a few exaggerated gestures, making the others laugh, and Yooyeon found herself smiling despite her nerves.
When she nailed one of the trickier transitions, you clapped for her mid-dance, your encouragement genuine. “See? You’ve got this!” you said, your grin infectious.
By the time the song ended, Yooyeon’s heart was racing—not from the choreography, but from you.
You weren’t just talented; now, you were approachable, funny, and incredibly kind. Every interaction chipped away at the wall she’d unknowingly had up, leaving her feeling completely smitten.
As the room erupted in applause, you turned to her with a wink. “Told you it’d be fun.”
Yooyeon nodded, her cheeks burning. “Yeah… it was,” she admitted softly.
But inside, all she could think was, What have I gotten myself into?

I Like the Taste of Vanilla
NOW COMPLETE! Start from the beginning on ao3, read today's post here or there.
Day 5: This Seems Dramatic
When Tommy stepped out of the bathroom and into the king suite he and Buck were staying at in Vegas, he did not expect to see Buck standing in front of the window with nothing but a pair of boxer briefs on.
“Now that's a view,” Tommy said with a smirk as he walked over to Buck.
Buck turned to him with a smile. “I was starting to get changed for dinner,” he said, his hands going to Tommy's shirt to play with the buttons, “then I had a different idea.”
Tommy's eyebrows perked up. “Mm. What's that?”
“Well, I was looking at the view of the strip and I- I, well, I wondered if you'd, um, you'd-”
“Evan?” Tommy could sense his nerves. “Questions are good, remember?”
Playfully, Buck rolled his eyes. “I was wondering if you'd like to fuck me... in front of the window.”
Tommy's eyes darkened at the thought. He pulled Buck in for a kiss. “I'd love that.”
It didn't take long for his clothes to be tossed across the room. Soon enough they were both standing in front of the giant window, looking over the city as Tommy worked three fingers in and out of Buck's hole.
“Did you have me fly us all the way to Vegas to fuck you in front of a window?” Tommy asked, kissing along Buck's neck. “Because no offense, but this seems dramatic.”
Buck laughed breathlessly. “That was, oh shit, actually not the plan at all,” he replied. “But, uh, i- it's a pretty good idea isn't it?”
Tommy slid his free arm around Buck's waist, wrapping his hand around Buck's cock and stroking him with a firm grip. “A great idea, Baby.”
Soon enough, Tommy was lining himself up with Buck, and slowly beginning to push inside. As Buck moaned, body pressed against the glass, Tommy noticed a woman on the street. So far down she didn't look much larger than a Barbie doll. She had a phone in her hand, pointing up toward the hotel.
Tommy froze.
“Wh- What's the matter?” Buck asked.
“What? Oh, nothing.” Tommy sunk in a little further, but he couldn't take his eyes off the woman, who was still there and still had her phone pointing at the hotel. Tommy stopped again.
“Tommy?” Buck pushed away from the wall slightly, enough to turn and look at Tommy. “Something's wrong.”
Tommy sighed. “I just... What if someone videos us and posts it online, and then someone we know sees it or it goes viral or something?”
He was surprised when, instead of looking confused, Buck just smiled back at him. “Actually, when I went downstairs to talk to the concierge earlier we got to talking about the building and he informed me that they had so many problems with people fucking against the windows that they tinted them all. It's actually impossible for anyone to see in.”
Tommy paused for a moment before resting his head against Buck's shoulder with a laugh. “Oh God. That's when you got the idea, isn't it?”
“Yup.”
“So no one can see us?”
“No one can see us.”
Tommy took a steadying breath, then straightened back up and took hold of Buck's hips. “Back to fucking, then?”
Buck nodded, sticking out his ass for effect. “Back to fucking.”
They started slow, but soon enough Tommy was pounding into Buck as Buck's body pressed hard against the glass.
Usually by this point, Buck was a whimpering, sobbing mess. But for some reason, he just got quieter and quieter the faster Tommy went.
So Tommy stopped. “What's wrong?” he asked, breathing heavily against Buck's neck.
“Nothing.”
“You sound like me now.” Tommy ran a hand through Buck's curls. “What's wrong?”
“Well, I- I know the window is double paned...”
“But?”
“But I just keep thinking wh- what if you fuck me so hard that the glass shatters and I fall out the window. I'd literally be fucked to death.”
Most people would laugh at the thought. But Tommy's been a firefighter for so long that there's quite literally no scenario he hasn't seen. Bringing a hand to Buck's stomach, he stepped them both away from the window. “I don't want to fuck you to death.”
“I don't want to be fucked to death.”
Tommy thought for a moment. “How about I grab the extra blankets from the closet, get some pillows? We can lay on the floor in front of the window and fuck like that?”
Slowly, Buck maneuvered himself so Tommy slipped out of him. He turned around. “Tommy?”
“Yeah?”
“How about we have regular, missionary style sex in the king size bed that we're paying for?”
Regardless of the fact he was just deep inside his boyfriend, Tommy was positive he'd never been so turned on in his life. “Are you sure? That's what we do at home most of the time.”
Buck smiled. “If I remember correctly, we do it most of the time because it has us both coming so hard we nearly black out.” He moved closer to Tommy, wrapping his arms around his waist and whispering in his ear. “I'll even flip us over at the end and ride you until my thighs burn.”
Tommy was wrong before. This was the most turned on he'd ever been in his life. With a groan, he pressed a kiss against Buck's lips and began to lead him backwards toward the bed. “I'll rub Bengay on your thighs after so they don't bother you tonight,” Tommy said, giving Buck a gentle push onto the bed.
Buck moaned, his cock hard and spurting precum just below his navel. “Fuck, Tommy, that's so hot.”
Tommy climbed onto the bed over Buck, gently lowering his weight over the man. “And after that,” Tommy continued, kissing his way down Buck's body, “I'll order us room service, whatever you want, and we'll eat it in bed.”
“I- In the robes the- the hotel provided?” Buck asked, body shivering with arousal.
“Mhm. And we'll watch that documentary you've been talking to me about for weeks.”
“Shit,” Buck whined, planting his feet on the bed so he could spread his legs wider, “You've gotta fuck me now, Tommy. I'm already close.”
Nearly halfway to his own orgasm already, Tommy wasted no time lining up and pushing in to Buck. He fucked into him slowly, carefully, as he watched Buck's mouth drop open and listened to the little, uh, uh, uh's, that escaped with each thrust.
Tommy nudged his nose against Buck's cheek to get his attention. “Evan?”
“Mm.” Buck opened his eyes, hands moving down to Tommy's ass for a squeeze. “Yeah?”
“I love us.”
Buck brought a hand to Tommy's neck, pulling him down for a sloppy kiss filled with teeth, and tongue, and all the emotion his heart could hold. “I love us, too.”

TINKER-Twisted Wonderland x Tinkerbell!Yuu/Fem!Reader Part 2
Part 1
[Name] was jolted awake by a gentle poke to her side.
“Mrggg…” The girl mumbled, rolling over.
“[Name], you need to talk to Headmage Crowley,” Lilia said, and at those words, the girl shot up, her head darting from side to side.
“Headmage Crowley?! Where is he?!” she exclaimed, confusion written all over her face.
“In his office. You need to see him right now while he’s not busy,” Lilia replied.
With that, [Name] rolled out of her makeshift bed and landed on the dresser. She stretched her wings out, feeling the need to wake up a bit more, and ran her fingers through her hair. To avoid drawing too much attention, she decided to stay in her smaller form. She turned to Lilia, who was busy gathering his supplies in his bag.
“Thanks again, Lilia.”
“Not a problem at all… Good luck!” he said.
With a quick nod, [Name] set off to find Crowley. She zipped through the halls, feeling like the school was a giant maze. Finally, she stopped in front of a door that looked significant enough. Peeking at the gap under the door, a grin spread across her face. She took a few steps back to gain momentum and—oh, she got stuck. Maybe she had overestimated the size of the gap. She could see Crowley right there too! Pushing against the door, she tried to wiggle free. With one last strong shove, she tumbled across the floor, fairy dust sparkling around her with every movement. Comically, birds circled her head as she transformed back to her normal size.
“Mr. Crowley, sir,” she paused to catch her breath, “I wanted to talk to you about staying at this school. Before you say anything, just hear me out. I can’t go back home right now. If I do, I’ll be stuck in a horrible house with older siblings who absolutely despise me in Fairy Hollow, a town that feels completely unfamiliar with a future that seems just as uncertain. Please, please, please let me stay!”
Crowley’s eyes widened at her outburst, and he let out an exhausted sigh. “You can stay under certain conditions. You’ll have an earlier curfew, must keep your grades above a B-, no tardies, and if you ever feel threatened, you’re allowed to use your magic.” [Name] lit up, her glow brighter than ever. “Got it! But what about my dorm and uniform situation?” she asked eagerly.
“That will be sorted out later. For now, get to know the school and your classmates,” Crowley said, pushing a magic pen towards her. With a smile,[Name] enthusiastically took the pen and bolted out the door.

“Pfft. All it takes is a little gust to—Hah! Oh no! The Queen of Hearts's statue looks like it’s been flame-broiled!” Ace exclaimed, his cool demeanor crumbling as he took in the damage from the fight.
“Flame-broiled indeed,” [Name] replied with a mischievous grin, enjoying Ace’s misfortune.
“Where did you come from?! Why is there a girl on campus?!” Ace shouted.
“[Name]?” Grim and Yuuken chimed in unison.
“I go to school here, duh,” she said, sticking her tongue out playfully. “So, what’s going on?”
“It’s Ace’s fault for trying to divert my fire! He should’ve just let it burn you to a crisp!” Grim shot back.
“Who in their right mind would ever do that?!” Ace retorted.
“What’s happening here? Cease this at once!” Crowley called out, making his way over.
At the sound of Crowley’s voice, [Name] froze. She really didn’t want to get blamed for anything, so she did what she does best—she shrunk down. But of course, she wasn’t going anywhere; she wanted to see how this played out. It felt like one of those cheesy Tubi movies she used to watch for inspiration on her inventions.
“Oh no! The headmage!” Ace cried, panic creeping into his voice. It was only the first day, and he was already in deep trouble.
“Not more lashings of love! We gotta get outta here!” Grim, Yuuken, and Ace tried to make a run for it, but [Name] had other plans. Whipping out her magic pen, she tripped the boys with a vine, falling over in silent laughter. This school was going to be full of opportunities for mischief! As they stumbled, Crowley approached with a fierce expression.
“OW!” Ace yelped, clutching a bruised spot on his side.
“Myaaaaah! I’m still sore from yesterday too!” Grim complained.
“As if the likes of you could ever escape my wrath! Did I not just warn you about ‘no more incidents’? And now you’ve charred one of my statues?! It’s almost like you WANT to be expelled!” Crowley threatened.
Yikes… So glad I managed to dodge that bullet!
“No! Please forgive me!” Ace pleaded.
“Hahhh… I wish I had my phone on me. This would totally blow up on magicam,” [Name] said, rolling over onto her side and getting comfortable as she watched the chaos unfold.
Crowley shifted his glare to Yuuken. “And you! You were specifically told to keep Grim under control!”
“I tried to stop him, but…” Yuuken began, only to be interrupted by the furious headmaster.
“This is unacceptable. And you! State your name and grade.”
“Ace Trappola… Freshman,” Ace said solemnly, sulking so much that [Name] thought he might just sink into the floor.
“Then listen carefully, Trappola. You, Grim, and Yuuken will be punished for today’s antics. You’re all assigned to wash a hundred windows!”
“Myah?! This is what you get for making fun of me! It’s all your fault! And where’s [Name]?!”
[Name] felt the urge to storm over and help Grim clean those dirty windows, but she had to keep her wings down and play it cool.
“What? I have to do it too?!” Ace whined.
“Of course you do,” Crowley scoffed. “You’ll meet in the cafeteria after class. Are we clear?”
“Yes, sir,” Ace finally relented.
“Ugh, I can’t catch a break!” Grim groaned. “I’m already worn out from a full day of cleaning. I can’t believe we still have to wash a hundred windows.”
Yuuken, clearly annoyed, cut in to silence Grim’s complaints. “We just have to suck it up and do it. You didn’t help at all earlier anyway…”
That’s when it hit [Name]. Yuuken didn’t snitch on her when Crowley asked where she was. In a way, she owed him something, but she just didn’t know what. Then it clicked, and she snapped her fingers.
“I know!”

With a sense of urgency, [Namel hurried toward the ramshackle dorm, logs of wood trailing behind her. All she needed now were some metal scraps, screws, and a bit of wood polish to get things rolling. As she turned the corner, her wings twitched—a telltale sign that something was about to happen. Maybe it would be wise to take a different route to the ramshackle. "Hey, hold up there! No fair getting a head start! Wait!" The unmistakable voice made [Name] shake her head in frustration. Of course, it had to be them.
Just as she was about to turn around, something knocked her to the ground along with the logs. "Outta my way!" a boyish voice shouted, fading into the distance. As she tried to get back on her feet, Namel stumbled over the logs in a rather embarrassing fashion. Her previously calm expression morphed into one of pure fury. She whipped around to see who was responsible for this mess—it was none other than Ace Trappola. Taking a moment to gather herself, she stood up, piled the logs together, and tied them securely. With a sprinkle of fairy dust, she made them float again. Taking a deep breath, she reminded herself that she couldn't deal with this chaos right now; she had to get to the mirror hall.
. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁
"This is not good..." Ace winced, clearly feeling the weight of the situation.
"What am I going to do?! How am I supposed to break this news to my mom...?" One boy was in full panic mode, realizing he couldn't afford to lose his place at NRC.
"Well... there might just be a glimmer of hope," the headmaster chimed in, offering the students a ray of optimism. "There’s a slim chance we can fix this chandelier."
"Wait, really?!" The boys shouted in unison, their hopes lifted.
"The magestone that powered this chandelier was sourced from the Dwarfs' Mine. If you can find a magestone with the same properties, we might be able to make the repairs."
"Then I’ll go look for a magestone! With your permission, sir!" one of them declared, determination shining in his eyes.
"Just a heads up—I can’t guarantee that any magestones are still out there. The mines have been closed for quite a while now, so it’s possible that all the magestones have been mined already."
"I'll do whatever it takes to avoid getting expelled, sir!" the boy insisted, desperation in his voice.
"Hmmm... Alright then. I’ll postpone your expulsion for just one night. But if you don’t bring back a magestone by morning, then all of you are out." Crowley negotiated, setting the stakes high.
"I understand, sir! Thank you so much for this chance!"
"Okay, let’s get moving. We need to find a magestone and wrap this up," Ace said, his shoulders drooping as he let out a heavy breath.
"You can reach the Dwarfs' Mine instantly by using one of the gates in the Mirror Chamber," Crowley informed them.
"Yes, sir!"
"Why do I keep running into you guys...?" [Name] grumbled as she stood at the entrance of the mirror hall, eyeing the chandelier on the floor with a frown. "How do you always manage to get into trouble?!"
Yuuken simply shook his head, muttering, "Grim and Ace..."
"Hmph." [Name] replied, "Who's that, and why is he staring at me like I’m the elephant in the room?" She pointed at the boy who was looking at her with wide eyes.
"Maybe it’s because you’re the only girl in an all-boys school?!" Ace shot back, much to [Name]'s irritation.
"Shut it," she hissed, switching her focus back to the boy who looked completely taken aback. "What’s your name?"
"Deuce... Spade…" he managed to say, still looking a bit overwhelmed.
"Deuce?" she repeated, raising an eyebrow. "Please stop looking at me like that."
"Sorry!" he said quickly, before turning back to the boys.
"We can’t waste any more time. Let’s go! Dark Mirror! Take us to the Dwarfs' Mine!" Deuce urged enthusiastically.
"Huh?! Wait!" [Name] exclaimed, feeling herself being pulled into the portal. She desperately tried to grab onto the smooth floor, but her efforts were in vain.
. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁
"So, this is the Dwarfs' Mine... A long time ago, it was overflowing with magestones," Deuce remarked, taking in the surroundings.
The girl rubbed the spot on her head where she had landed. "Are you serious right now?!" She quickly dusted off her pants, her wings twitching as they prepared her to take off back to campus.
"Where do you think you're going, insect?!" the cat called out, a hint of annoyance in its voice.
"Back to NRC," she replied flatly, not bothering to look back.
Just as she was about to launch herself into the air, she was suddenly tackled by a ball of fur.
"Get off me! How are you so heavy?!" [Name] struggled to push the cat off her.
"Nyah! You left us behind near those statues!" the cat exclaimed, indignation in its tone.
"That wasn't my fault, was it?!" [Name] crossed her arms defiantly. "But... I guess I can help you find the magestone. I could use a little adventure anyway."
"Look, everyone! I see a house over there. Let's check it out and see what the folks there have to say," Ace suggested, his shoulders slumping in a casual manner.
"Hello? Is anyone home...? It must be empty. This place looks like it’s been abandoned," Deuce said, glancing around.
"Bwah! I just got a spider web on my face! Ptchoo! Ptchoo!"
"Wow, these desks and chairs are tiny! Did kids live here? One, two... seven! It’s like a clown car in here," Ace joked, managing to elicit a giggle from [Name].
"When the mine was thriving, this house must have been a really lively spot," Deuce mused.
"Well, standing around here isn’t going to get us anywhere. If we want to find a magestone, we've got to go inside the mine. Let's head in," Ace declared, stepping out of the house.
"You want to go in THERE? It’s pitch black! Insect! You go first! You’ve got that weird glowing thing around you," the cat retorted, a hint of fear in its voice.
An irked expression crossed her face. "Wuss," she muttered as she stepped into the cave, her glow lighting the way.
"What, scared of the dark? Pathetic," Ace teased Grim.
"Myah?! I’m not scared of anything! I’ll take the lead! You all follow me!" Grim puffed out his chest and moved in front of [Name].
"Whoa, hold on!" Deuce warned the others.
"What now?" Ace asked, clearly annoyed.
"There's something up ahead!"
At that moment, [Name] felt a bone-chilling sensation crawl up her spine. Turning around, she gasped at the sight of a ghost, her wings instinctively spreading out as a defensive measure.
"Do make yourselves at home... You can stay forever!" the ghost rasped, a cold aura enveloping the cave as it spoke. More ghosts emerged from behind the first one.
"More ghosts?! They're floating around here too!" Ace stepped back, ready to defend himself with his magic pen.
"If we stop to fight, we’re never going to get anywhere. Let’s just keep moving," Deuce reasoned, trying to keep the group focused.
"Sure, but don’t act like we voted you as team leader. We’re here because of that ridiculous stunt you pulled," Ace shot back.
"Oh? I’m pretty sure this all started because you tried to dodge your window-cleaning punishment!"
[Name] listened to the boys argue, feeling her blood pressure rise. She just wanted to rip her hair out in frustration.
Yuuken watched [Name]’s face twist in exasperation. From what he had seen during orientation, he didn’t even want to imagine how she would react now. He cautiously covered his ears, bracing for her outburst.
"So, we’re digging up ancient history now? If we're getting into it, this all started when furball here torched that statue!" Ace pointed an accusing finger at Grim.
"Myah?! Maybe you shouldn’t have made fun of me, then!" Grim defended himself.
"SHUT UP!" [Name] snapped, startling the boys into silence. The cave echoed with her voice, and they could have sworn they heard birds fleeing from the nearby trees.
"Everyone, just calm down," Yuuken attempted to diffuse the tension.
[Name] scratched her neck sheepishly. "Sorry..."
"...iiivvv... ...oooouuu..."
"Huh?!" the group gasped in unison, fear creeping into their voices.
"Wh-where's that coming from? [Name], was that you?" Ace asked, his eyes wide.
"No! Why would that be me?” [Name] whispered, hugging herself tightly.
"...neeevvvaaa... ...iiivvv... ...ooouuu..."
Why did [Name] let herself get tangled up in this mess? Would she even make it out alive in time for her first day tomorrow?!
"Sounds like... it's getting closer..."
"Stooonesss... Stooonesss aaare miiiiine!"
"There it is!" Yuuken pointed out the looming monster.
"What is that?!" Deuce’s eyes widened in horror.
"Myaaah! No one said there'd be monsters! Let’s get outta here!" Grim tugged on Yuuken’s pants, panic in his voice.
"That thing is super creepy! But didn’t it just mention something about 'stones'?!" Ace exclaimed.
"Stooonesss... ...nevvva give stooonesss...!" The monster swung at the group, its movements threatening.
"So there ARE still magestones here!" Deuce concluded, his eyes gleaming with determination.
"Myaaah... Even as a master sorcerer, I... I don't think I can take that thing down!" Grim admitted, his bravado fading.
"Are you really a master then?" [Name] couldn’t help but tease the cat, even in such dire circumstances.
"But we need a magestone or we’ll get expelled! I’m going in!" Deuce charged toward the monster, ignoring the warnings.
"Are you out of your mind?!"
"You can't do this alone!"
But Deuce brushed aside their concerns. "I won't be expelled! No matter what!"
"Get lost! Get lost! Get loooost!"
Deuce cried out as the creature lunged at him.
"Oh no! Loosey-Deucey is in trouble! Not on my watch! Heeyah!"
"Oof!" Ace hit the ground hard, wincing in pain as his muscles tensed.
From the sidelines, [Name] struggled to contain a laugh, watching the boys get tossed around like rag dolls.
"Myaaah! Keep away from me!" Grim raised his paws in sheer panic.
"GRRRAAAWWRR!" The monster let out a fearsome roar.
"It's like nothing even phases it!" Grim shouted in disbelief.
"Did you just see that sparkle?!" Yuuken exclaimed, staring past the monster at a glimmering rock.
"Look behind the monster! There's something shining in the mineshaft!" Ace said, pushing himself up from the floor.
"Could that be a magestone?!"
"GWAAAAAAAH! Nooo, I won't let you take the stooooone!" The monster attempted another strike. [Name] flinched, that attack almost hit her.
"Yuuken, we need to get out of here, and fast! That thing's going to turn us into tuna paste!" Grim pulled Yuuken by the sleeve.
"Retreat!Retreat! Retreat" Yuuken called out to the others.
. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁. ݁₊ ⊹ . ݁˖ . ݁
"This should be far enough, right?" Grim panted as he rolled onto his back.
"Owww... What was that thing? No one warned us about something like that!"
"That was definitely not your average ghost."
"Let’s just give up and go home. I'd gladly take the expulsion if it means I never have to face that thing again." Ace sighed, resigning himself to the idea of leaving NRC.
"What?! No way, that's not happening! I'd rather face death than get kicked out of Night Raven! How can you give up when the stone is right there?" Deuce shook his head vigorously, refusing to back down.
"Pfft. Easy for you to say, considering you’re not even half the mage I am. If you want that stone so badly, go get it yourself. I'm out." Ace turned to walk away, but Deuce shouted after him.
"Oh YEAH?! Fine, just run back to your little coop, you big chicken!" Deuce taunted, momentarily breaking character.
"Whaaaaat?! Who are you calling a chicken, huh?!" Ace shot back, crossing his arms and stepping closer to Deuce.
"Whoa, Deuce... Did you just, like, totally change personality there for a second?"
"Huh?! Sorry... I lost my temper for a moment." He cleared his throat, clearly embarrassed.
"So, what do we do now?" Yuuken squatted down, looking to the others for guidance.
"Can't you guys just blow that thing up with magic?" Grim directed his question at Ace and Deuce.
"Can't you do something magical yourself?" Yuuken asked Grim, raising an eyebrow.
"The headmage said it himself... magic has its limits. If you can't visualize your magic clearly, it's not going to work." Deuce explained to Yuuken and Grim. "Using magic on a larger scale or trying different kinds of magic requires training."
"Exactly, that's why magic academies exist. It takes a ton of practice before you can just snap your fingers and make your thoughts manifest as magic. And the more flustered you are, the more likely you are to mess things up." Ace added in.
"So that's why Grim can only summon fire," Yuuken said, taking a jab at Grim's ego.
"Hey! Just you wait! I'm gonna learn to use way cooler magic than that! I'm just getting started!" Grim shot back at Yuuken.
"Anyway, we need to come up with a plan to defeat that creature and grab the magestone," Deuce reminded everyone.
"Yeah, just like last time with the chandelier, right? You 'found a way,' and now look where we are. We just fought that thing and it wiped the floor with us. So what's your grand plan, genius? Because I definitely don't trust you to wing it!"
"What?! You're the one who—"
"And here we go again," Grim sighed, realizing this was going nowhere.
"So, I guess we should all just get expelled then," Yuuken shrugged, sounding indifferent.
"What?" Ace and Deuce exchanged bewildered glances, taken aback by Yuuken's sudden defeatist attitude.
"Whoa, that was a bit harsh. Where did that come from?" Grim's eyes widened at Yuuken's unexpected demeanor.
"Why not try working together for a change?" Yuuken suggested earnestly.
"With Loosey-Deucey? No way! He'd get me killed!" Ace shot back at Deuce, dismissing the idea.
"Like I'd enjoy teaming up with you?!" Deuce retorted.
"What if we actually came up with a solid plan first?" Yuuken proposed.
Ace clicked his tongue in annoyance. "A solid plan? Like some buddy system? Are you kidding? You always say the most ridiculous things with a straight face, [MC]."
"Agreed. There's no way I can work with him." The blue-haired boy shook his head defiantly.
"Yeah, but... getting expelled on the first day? That's pretty lame too. Maybe even lamer." Grim pointed out.
Ace stuttered, caught off guard by Grim's comment, "W-well..."
"Yeah, there's nothing cool about that!" the black-haired boy added.
"Ugh... Fine. Let's just get this over with. All right, Yuuken. What's the plan?" The orange-haired boy asked, sounding resigned.
"Yuuken… Is this plan of yours really going to work? I'm scared—I mean, I'm a little... uh, hungry," the cat confessed.
"Then let's brace ourselves for the worst," Yuuken said with a hint of pessimism.
"Heh heh. That's not exactly encouraging! Keep it loose and lively! Let's do this!" Ace declared, pumping his fist in determination and flashing his trademark smile.
"Wait! I feel like we’re forgetting something..." Deuce said, deep in thought.
"That monster really must have done a number on you," Ace chuckled.
"Whatever!" Deuce shot ahead of Ace, ready to take action.
What do you guys think they forgot in the mines???

Jealous Girlfriend Alert(Lea SchüllerxOberdorfReader)
(little mention of Lena/Tuva relationship)
Warning: jealousy ,slight mention of s*xual content, faking being sick
It has been 3 years of dating for you and Lea. You play together for bayern munich & the german national team. Things have been going great. It was time for national Camp you were excited to see your best friend Pia Sophie . You and her are like Sisters and everyone knew that you only saw eachother that way. Lea knew that too, but somehow this national Camp was gonna be quite the Challenge for her patience.
You two sat in the van, together with Giulia & Lena. It made sense to travel together because you all play for the same Bundesliga Team.
You had your head on Lea's shoulder, your fingers intertwined. She was stroking your hand with her thumb, which earned her a smile from you.
"you two are disgustingly cute!" Lena said teasingly and let out a fake gag. Giulia laughed softly.
"be nice!"Giulia told Lena.
"yes be nice sis or i will tell Tuva about it!" You tell your older sister & made sure you mentioned Lenas girlfriend, which was also one of your teammates at Bayern Munich. And your other best friend besides Pia. Kinda funny that you and Lena dated eachothers best friends.
"that's what you get for being a meanie!" Lea told her best friend and was sticking out her tongue towards Lena .
"you are a bunch of children!" Giulia stated, but was still smiling. Used to your guys banter by now.
When you get out of the Van, Pia was already waiting for you. Together with Sara. You two hug eachother right away. "Y/n! I missed you, bestie!" Pia said. "I missed you too!" You told her, hugging her back. Lena, Giulia and Lea hugging Sara before you went to greet her and the three went to greet your best friend. Things were still fine. No hint of jealousy. That was not gonna last long though.
And if you would have known that you probably would have given Lea a pep talk and informed Pia that Lea was struggling a bit with how close the two of you were. Unfortunatly that wasn't the case.
You went to your room with Lea so the two of you could get settled before the first team meeting. You unpack your Suitecase and feel Lea wrapping her arms around you from behind. You lean against her. She started kissing your shoulders & neck. Which made you close your eyes and you let out a soft moan. You could feel her smirk against your shoulder. "Babe we only have an hour before the Team Meeting!" You tell her, trying not to get carried away. "You know there is alot i could do with you in an hour?" She whispered into your ear, her hands moving down your stomach towards your pants. Your were interrupted by someone saying "okay yuck! Can't you keep it in your pants for a bit. You literally were alone for..."the Person checked her watch"15 minutes!" You stare at the Person who said it and just stood in yours and Lea's room all of the sudden. "Laura ! Don't you know how to knock?!" You asked and sighed softly. "Sorry, but it's about Lena, she kind of fainted on the way to her room!" The blonde replied. "Lauri, maybe next time you should lead with that!" You told her, now really worried about your sister. So was Lea. "Lead the way, Laura!" Lea told her, taking your hand and intertwining your fingers together as you went to Lenas & Jules room.
Lena was lying on the bed, a wet towel on her forehead. You let go of Lea's Hand and quickly sit on the edge of the bed. "Don't worry guys i am fine. I just didn't drink enough!" She admitted. "Lena Sophie Oberdorf!! you scared the crap out of me!" You told your sister. "Yeah what she said!" Lea replied. "Sorry! I promise i won't forget it ever again!" Lena answered, blushing a bit. Jule was walking into the room with two bottles of water. "I am working on getting her to drink a bit more and then rest!" The tall blonde replied. "That does sound like a good plan." Lea told her.
You ended up staying with Lena for a little bit while the others left for the Team meeting. After you cuddled with your sister and made sure she was okay you went there as well. Sitting next to Giulia. Cause there was no place left to sit. Cause otherwise you of course would have sat with your girlfriend.
The meeting was done and you had two more hours of free time. So you decided to Play FC 24 in the gaming room. you played with Pia in a Team against Laura & Sydney. "You are going down, little Oberdorf!" Laura yelled out. "I have a Name Freigang! Also i don't think so!" You replied with a soft chuckle. Of course the two of you were just teasing. Lea was sitting at a table near by with Giulia, Nicole & Klara playing UNO. Pia playfully massaged your shoulders, kinda like before a boxing match, cause she was standing behind the couch. "You got this, y/n!" She told you. Laughing softly. "Thanks for believing in me, Pi!" You answer. Lea was glancing over to the two of you and all of sudden looked really upset. That didn't go unoticed by Nicole. "Are you okay, Lea?" She asked, following your girlfriends gaze. Which made Klara and Giulia also look up from their cards and they noticed their friend and teammate being upset as well. "They are always so close!" Lea stated. "Wait are you jealous of Y/n and Pia?" Nicole figured out. "It's like they are constantly all over eachother!" Lea answered, crossing her arms over her chest. "You mean like you & Obi?" Giulia told her, trying to calm her friend down because Lea looked like she was about to lose it and walk over to you and Pia. "Lea relax, for real. You are like that with Obi & you don't See y/n being Jealous!" Klara said. It took a bit of talking from all three of them to make Lea relax a bit more.
Free time was over and you were at one of the practice fields, doing some drills. You quite enjoyed doing drills. Was one of your favorite things to do. After doing the drills you all kicked the ball around and Pia who stood next to you accidentally hit your forhead with her hand when she was making a movement, going for the ball. "Sorry y/n!" She told you and gave you a kiss on the head, patting your shoulder in a friendly way. Klara was quick to react cause she saw that Lea wanted to march over to the two of you and her face told a whole Story of how that wouldn't end well. "Lea you need to talk to her about how you feel! In a normal way and not make a scene." Klara told your girlfriend. "Fine." She replied and walked into the other direction. Excusing herself to the room you two shared claiming she was feeling sick. Something you noticed quite quickly and asked If you could check on her cause you also wanted to check on your sister anyways.
As soon as everyone agreed you basically ran to Obis room to see how she was but she was asleep so you went to check on your girlfriend, quite concerned for her health. "Beautiful?" You asked when you entered your room and saw Lea doing sit ups. Which confused you cause you thought she was not feeling well and now only thing she looked like was pissed. "You don't look sick. Are you okay? What's wrong? Anything i can do for you?" You asked. She stopped and got up from the floor walking over. "I am jealous of you and Pia!" She admitted. You were quite shocked and confused. "Wait why? You know she is like my sister! Like it's with you and Obi!" You told her, pulling her in for a hug. Lea was biting down on her bottom lip, realizing how irrational the whole thing was. "I was being an idiot, wasn't i?" She asked. "Well i wouldn't say an idiot, but unreasonable. Thank you for telling me though. Don't worry about it. Pia has a crush on someone else. And i only want to be with you." You explained and then kissed her cheek. Her arms wrap around you. "I love you." She whispered out. Kissing you back. "I love you too, my sweet jealous girlfriend." You told her teasingly.
The rest of Camp went smoothly and without any jealousy from Lea. In fact she also grew closer to Pia and even helped her to ask Nicole on a date. Which she happily agreed to. So you would have little Double dates during the rest of national camp.

Our Youth: The Responsibility of Adaptation
I regret to inform you all that I dropped Our Youth a few weeks back. Which is tragic because I was so enamored with it at the beginning that I literally went and searched up the manwha and devoured it all in one sitting.
Now, I can definitively say that I do think the first part of both the manwha and the show is the strongest. BUT I want to talk about the two changes I saw in the first half that I do think negatively impacted how the College Years landed. (Forgive me if I get some of the details slight off I'm too lazy to go back to the manwha and check).
For the sake of expediency, I am going to keep the names from the jbl even when talking about the manwha, but please know that Minase and Haruki have different names in the Korean graphic novel.
I. The Big Change that Had a Big Impact
First, I want to talk about the events that get Haruki suspended/expelled from school.
The Show: The bullies Haruki hangs around in school rob a store, Haruki confronts them, Haruki gets in trouble with the school, Haruki...takes the blame for some unknown reason?
The Manwha: The bullies Haruki hangs around bullies a student so severely over the course of the school year that the student attempts suicide. Haruki has never directly partaken in the bullying (keeping with the categories Minase breaks people down in to) but he is a bystander. And when he hears about this student's suicide attempt he realizes that he really should not just be letting the bullies get away with shit like that. He confronts the bully, calls him out on it, and in front of the entire class and as the teacher walks in that fucking piece of shit kid cries and wails and cowers in fear of Haruki making it look like Haruki is not only threatening him but is also the main perpetrator of the bullying that pushed a child to attempt suicide.
In my opinion, there is a huge difference in the stakes and the consequences here, and I think the way the show played it out not only lowers the stakes but detracts from the messaging around the perception of kids like Haruki. The bully in the manwha weaponized the fact that all the teachers see Haruki as a violent delinquent because he...checks notes: choked a teacher who was sexually harassing a student and threatened him to prevent it from happening again and the fact that Haruki is technically culpable because he watched it happen and never stepped in, in order to take the heat off himself and avoid getting in trouble.
In the show Haruki just immediately backtracks on his fight with the bully at the pool hall and takes the fall, suffering the consequences for something he very much didn't do. Haruki's suspension does not induce the kind of rage it would have if they had gone with the manwha version, and Haruki's pulling back from Minase also would make far more sense in the context of Haruki's reaction to finding out about the student's attempt and the part he played in it.
II. The Small Change that Had a Big Impact
Now, I admit I am often guilty of finding a lot of small moments in media to often be what sticks with me, and I can get annoyed when I see an adaptation that might strip away my favorite little moments, or favorite little lines (RIP "call me child one more goddamn time" from Critical Role, you will always be famous to me)
But in this case I do feel it is fair of me to say that making this specific tweak to the story should have caused a hell of a lot of edits to the second half of the story in order to make it compelling. What would that be?
The Show: Minase's father makes a queer indie film. Minase and Haruki attend the film together, there is a happy ending, and Minase finds a label that speaks to his feelings for Haruki.
The Manwha: Minase's father makes a queer indie film. Miase and Haruki attend the film together, there is a sad ending and Minase does not find a label that speaks to his feelings for Haruki. In college, Minase learns that his tutor is gay and has a partner and is happy with his life and this is where he starts to parse through his feelings for Haruki and adopt a label/definition of his queerness.
Small tweak, huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge difference in vibe and in justification for what comes next. In the manwha Haruki and Minase do not see each other for six years because of a phone mishap where one of them had their phone turned off for months in order to focus on studying, and the other got a new phone number or something thus they did not really see or hear from each other. They have an accidental run in in college and they restart their relationship but it still takes them some time.
I dropped the show before I got to the college years so I do not know what if anything happened there, but I do think that when you actually did nothing wrong to warrant getting suspended from school, you know where each other's houses are, you know what your feelings actually are, and your external experiences with queerness are generally happy it is extremely difficult to make being separated for six years feel compelling or believable.
I think it is a little bit more believable when you have a character who is actually culpable in the bullying that led to a suicide attempt, your supposed "school friends" who you kinda have always hated tries to make himself the victim, you don't have a label/definition to put your feelings to, and your only external experiences with queerness are sad and tragic that you might do what Haruki did and assume that Minase also started seeing you negatively and no longer cared for you.
Anyway, I don't think I have a solid conclusion to this post beyond I think if the writers were interested in lightening the mood around the school situation and giving the boys a happy queer ending in high school so they could feel comfortable with their feelings, that's totally fine, but then I think they needed to make some tweaks to the back half to justify those decisions a bit better, at least based off of what I have seen and heard about the way the back half played out.

january 5 @ hurricanes, 4-3 OT loss
i cannot believe the season is halfway done. i can't believe i've actually written a fic for every single game, for forty-one games. that's crazy. thanks so much to everyone reading along, the comments and tags you leave really do encourage me to keep going—it's hard to work on a big project like this with no positive reinforcement! i love and appreciate you all <3
playing carolina might be boring AF but at least we got this picture of of it, hey? geno is so much bigger than sid it's truly ridiculous.
Sid isn’t very good at hiding what he’s feeling.
Zhenya knows about the narrative, how a Sidney Crosby quote is a lot of words but when you go back and actually read what he said it’s a whole bunch of nothing. That’s probably true; Zhenya doesn’t make a habit of looking up his teammates’ media spots. Answering his own questions and sitting for interviews is enough exposure to reporters, thank you very much.
But long before Zhenya and Sid spoke the same language, Zhenya was able to read Sid like a book.
Sid’s not subtle. When he wants something from you, you’ll know.
And when they’re getting ready to go out for overtime at the Lenovo Center, when Sid ducks his head and looks up at Zhenya through his eyelashes, Zhenya knows exactly what he wants.
It’s nice to catch up with Staalsy after they play the Hurricanes; frankly, it’s Zhenya’s favorite part about facing this damn team. Jordy’s waiting for them outside the visitor’s locker room after Sid is finally done with his cooldown, and they duck down a quiet hallway to chat. Partway through the conversation, Zhenya slings an arm over Sid’s shoulders, casual as anything, and smothers a smirk when Sid not-so-subtly tucks himself into Zhenya’s side.
Jordy doesn’t notice anything. He’s always been oblivious. It’s something Zhenya always appreciated about him. Kris gives them a hairy eyeball, but after so many years he knows when to feign ignorance, even if he’s far more observant than Jordy ever was.
Sid behaves himself on the way back to Pittsburgh. He keeps his hands to himself on the plane, sticking his earbuds in and zoning out on whatever podcast series he’s hooked on this month.
Zhenya taps his way through a few rounds of solitaire, nudging Sid with his knee when the plane begins its descent. When they’re deboarding and Sid makes to grab for his stuff, Zhenya bullies him out of the way, pulling both their bags down from the overhead compartment and slinging them over his shoulders.
Sid goes pink.
Their drive back to Sewickley is quiet, Zhenya navigating the dark streets carefully with one hand spread over Sid’s thigh. Sid’s parents are still in town, will be through the upcoming homestand, so Zhenya takes them up the hills back to his place, pulling into the driveway and throwing Sid’s Range Rover in park.
He crowds behind Sid as they walk into the house, dropping their bags as soon as they clear the threshold so he can get his hands on Sid’s hips, steering him to the staircase over Sid’s protests that they need another protein shake before bed.
(He refrains from making the obvious joke.)
Sid drops his feigned reluctance as soon as they get to the bedroom, turning in Zhenya’s arms and wrapping his arms around Zhenya’s neck, tugging him down for a kiss.
The first time Sid kissed Zhenya, it took both of them by surprise. It was Zhenya’s second year in the league, and not even any sort of special occasion—they’d just beaten Boston in TD Garden, a hard-won shootout on the first half of a back-to-back with travel in the slog leading up to their too-short Christmas break. He and Sid both had to do media, courtesy of Geno’s two goals and Sid’s three points, and they were the last ones in the locker room after they finally escaped to do their cooldown and get showered.
Zhenya was fumbling with his tie when Sid crossed the room, got up on his toes, and smeared a kiss across Zhenya’s mouth.
They didn’t talk about it for months. There were games to win, after all, and playoffs to push for. They were both determined to have a better showing than they had last season. It wasn’t until after they had to watch the Red Wings raise the Stanley Cup in their own building, after locker clean-out and the last media of the season, that Sid showed up at Zhenya’s door with a determined look on his face.
Their second kiss hadn’t been any more artful than the first. It didn’t take them long to get good at it, though.
Really good. They’ve taken breaks throughout the years, arguments and ego and fear of the future sending one or both of them stomping away from the relationship, and Zhenya’s seen plenty of girls stumble out of dark corners with Sid looking dazed with swollen mouths. He kisses like the world is ending, all-consuming and intense, and Zhenya’s more than happy to fall into it every time.
Sid doesn’t want to just kiss tonight, though. His hand sneaks down and squeezes at Zhenya’s dick through his dress pants, and Zhenya cants his hips forward, letting Sid grope him.
“Fuuuck,” Sid groans, pulling back and looking down between them. Zhenya follows his gaze.
Sid’s not a small guy. He’s broad, with thick arms and legs and big, capable hands, clever fingers that are adept at taking Zhenya apart. His hand on Zhenya’s dick where it’s straining at the fabric, though, looks almost small.
“Jesus,” Sid mutters, stroking a thumb over the head. Zhenya shivers as his dick twitches.
They’re clumsy as they undress, the late hour and a long, heavy game slowing their reflexes, but eventually their clothes are in a pile at the foot of the bed and Zhenya has Sid stretched out on the mattress, pinning his hands over his head with one hand around both wrists.
Sid takes a deep breath, testing Zhenya’s grip. Zhenya watches his throat bob as he swallows and tightens his thighs where they’re around Sid’s hips.
“You’re stay put,” he says to Sid, half an order and half a question, and he can see his words register, leaching into Sid’s body and dropping all the tension from his muscles.
Sid’s hard between them already, dick curving up toward his belly button and damp at the head, and when Zhenya curls his hand around it Sid gasps, craning his chin down so he can look.
Sid’s hands might be big compared to a regular guy, but Zhenya’s put his to shame, and Sid’s dick looks small in his grasp.
Zhenya knows that turns Sid’s crank, even though he’ll never admit to it. Hockey players are all the same, after all, and none of them are going to own up to getting off on their dick looking small, but Zhenya’s never needed Sid to actually say anything to know what he wants.
Sid likes how much bigger Zhenya is than him. He likes the way Zhenya’s hands span his waist like it’s dainty, the way he fits under Zhenya’s arm like Zhenya’s girlfriends used to.
He especially likes Zhenya’s dick.
Zhenya lifts up a little and shifts so that Sid can spread his legs, settling between them and rubbing his dick over Sid’s balls and shaft. Sid props himself up on his elbows, mouth open as he pants for air, hitching his hips up to meet Zhenya’s movements.
Zhenya spares a moment for regret that they don’t have time to fuck properly until the homestand is over. Sid’s so tight, even after all these years, and sinking into him is the closest to a religious experience that Zhenya’s ever had.
He props his forearms on either side of Sid’s head, leaning down so he’s completely covering Sid’s body, pressing their chests together as he mouths at Sid’s neck. Sid always leaks so much, like the second he gets even a little worked up he’s ready to bust, which means they don’t need lube when they do this.
When they were younger, they used to get off like this every spare minute they had, sneaking off to spare rooms and rubbing up against each other until they came. It only took one instance of having to misappropriate a fancy hand towel in Billy Guerin’s guest bathroom for Zhenya to start carrying around a handful of tissues in his back pocket for quick clean-ups.
They usually take their time now, luxuriating in the privacy of their own homes and the improved technique that comes with experience, but sometimes Zhenya likes to make it quick and dirty, likes to get Sid panting and begging for dick underneath him.
Zhenya can’t give it to him tonight. The waiting will make it better when they have time, though.
Sid’s getting close. His thighs are trembling where they’re locked around Zhenya’s waist, and he’s tossing his head back and forth, little uh-uh-uhs pushing from his chest as he arches his back.
Zhenya pushes himself up a little and rests his hand on Sid’s neck, curling his fingers and pressing his thumb to the hinge of Sid’s jaw. Not much, not enough to actually do anything, but his hand looks enormous at Sid’s throat, and when he increases pressure the tiniest bit, Sid gasps and comes with a shout.
He’s still shivering through his orgasm when Zhenya drags his dick over Sid’s groin, smearing come into his pubic hair, and groans as he finishes on Sid’s stomach.
“Damn,” he says, rolling off to one side. Sid tucks them together, yanking Zhenya’s arm until his hand is splayed low over Sid’s belly.
It’s sticky and kind of gross. Zhenya rubs their come into Sid’s skin, ignoring Sid’s protest.
His hand really does look huge on Sid’s body. Normally he doesn’t think too much about it; he’s aware of how tall he is, how big his dick is, and those facts on their own don’t do much for him. He’s happy to go along with what Sid wants—seeing Sid get off on something is what gets him hottest.
Sid’s a grower, though, and when he’s soft Zhenya can cover his entire groin with his palm.
Sid grunts as Zhenya fondles him, wincing and over-sensitive, but Zhenya ignores it, rolling Sid’s balls in his fingers and palming his soft member.
Yeah, he sees the appeal.
#sidgeno#hockey rpf#my writing#my fic#24-25 series#now who's going to write something featuring soft dicks#because there's none of that in this fandom and i think it's a damn shame#i'll add it to my list also but like#there's soooo much potential outside of just the start of cockwarming....take my hand and join me....

Firstly I wanted to say that I loved tongues and teeth it was a super fun story that got me real attached to Paranoid and Opportunist’s relationship in it. So when you said that you were taking requests I knew I just had to ask for more of them. Specifically I think it would be real sweet if Paranoid was defending Opportunist to someone like Cheated who’s more hesitant about his trustworthiness. Maybe Opportunist even overhears the conversation and teases him about it later but is actually really appreciative of it that could be fun. Idk I just thought this would be a fun premise and would love to see what you write for it.
(Thank you for liking my story! This is also my first request so I'm so excited for to write this! This takes place in PT.7 after Oppy talks to Smitten,Cheated and Skeptic.Enjoy!)
"Hey Paranoid, can I talk to you for a minute?"
Opportunist stopped in his tracks of getting more sticks for the fire, slowly hiding behind a tree as Cheated brought Jitters aside to talk to him.
Jitters was immediately panicking."What's wrong?" he asked, feathers and shoulders rising in alarm."Are you hurt? Are you hiding something?"
"What?"Cheated asked,staring up at Jitters in confusion."No,no-nothing's wrong.I just have a question."
"Oh."Opportunist had to bite his lip to stop laughter from pouring out as Jitters' blank face and his whole body deflated at once.He still looked wary as he said,"Okay?Go on."
Cheated sighed harshly, making sure to look Jitters in the eye, before finally asking in a low whisper, "What did he do?"
"...What?"
"What did he do?Did he threaten you?I bet he lied to you!"
"Cheated, what are you-"Cheated suddenly cut Jitters off by grabbing his shoulders, pulling him in closer with an urgency in his eyes and voice as he said,"Paranoid, you can not believe a thing Opportunist tells you!"
Jitters pulled himself out of Cheated's grip, giving him a confused look."Wait, this is about Oppy? Why?"
"Because he's a liar that only serves himself!" Cheated hissed, and Opportunist's wings lowered in shame at the truth."He doesn't care about anyone other than himself-including you,no matter what bullshit he's after telling you!He doesn't play fair, Paranoid!"
Jitters twisted his body in a way that prevented Opportunist from seeing his face, but judging from the long silence that followed,Opportunist doubted that Jitters' response was going to be good.
Finally,he watched as Jitters slowly tilted his head to one side and quietly said,"He doesn't really play fair, does he?"
Despite his best efforts,Opportunist felt his heart drop at Jitters' words. He knew they still didn't completely trust each other, but he thought that he had made some progress with Jitters.
He thought Jitters had given him the chance that others hadn't.
He swallowed the lump in his throat and was about to walk off, having heard all these insults before, when Jitters spoke up,"But that doesn't mean that he didn't care about us."
He froze, and he forced himself to slowly turn his head back, staring at the surprised expression on Cheated's ragged face.
"I think he was just afraid.I was afraid everytime we faced off against the princess.I think he found it-easier to just side with the voice with the most sway, because that might be how He survives.I think he was mainly concerned about survival, about keeping Him safe,no matter what, because why wouldn't he?"
"Because he's an asshole,"Cheated grumbled, and Jitters shrugged."Sometimes I would think that too, but realistically,he had to look out for the Decider because he was still a part of Him.Otherwise, what would be the point in all that deceit if there was nothing good to come out of it for us?"
Opportunist saw the way Cheated's face shifted, how his anger was slowly disappearing and changing into annoyed understanding at Jitters' words.Opportunist was gobsmacked at the sight.
Jitters lowered his head, and he saw him lift his arm up to inspect."These new bodies are weird.I'm not sure how I feel about it."
"Me neither,"Cheated quietly agreed, stretching out his wings that were too small for his body.
"It's hard to believe that we have our own free will now, that we can move and speak and do whatever we want."
"I guess that's a good thing though, right?"Cheated said,"We don't have to fight for control anymore."
"I suppose so,"Jitters said,in a way that Opportunist wondered if he preferred to be back in someone's head,if that was easier for him.
"But,"Jitters said,"if we have all this newfound freedom and control for ourselves, then why has Oppy stuck around?"Opportunist gulped,as he watched how Cheated didn't have an answer to that.
"He's the one in control of his own body, but he's still hanging around us and helping find the others. Why do you think that is?"
"Because he's got some trick up his sleeve!" Cheated insisted, but Opportunist argument now sounded weak in his own voice.Jitters shrugged again, looking around the forest, and Opportunist caught the calm look in his eyes,as if defending Opportunist was something he was sure in,that he didn't doubt or worry about.
Opportunist's loyalty was something Jitters had full faith in.
That was only cemented as Jitters said,"He might, but if he's deciding to stick around the flock for so long, don't you think he would've tried something by now?"Then Jitters walked off, leaving Cheated-and Opportunist-to soak in his words.
He saw Cheated's face go through a mix of emotions in a matter of seconds-first anger, then shock, confusion, and then finally-soft acceptance, to which he just sighed and rolled his eyes, before walking back to camp.
Opportunist stood in that spot for a few minutes, until he felt somebody tap him on the shoulder. He yelped and whirled around, clutching the bundle of sticks to his chest,as he found Hunted standing there and giving him a perplexed look."What are you doing?"
"Nothing!"

Twenty minutes later, they were all sitting around a newly fed fire, and Opportunist immediately scanned for where Jitters was,and went straight over to him.
"What a fruitful day this has been,"he said as a greeting, giving Jitters a big smile as he sat down next to him.Jitters just smiled at him tiredly, turning to look back at the glow of the fire."More like hectic."
"Of course you would think that."They sat in a comfortable silence for a few minutes, but Opportunist couldn't help but turn to stare at Jitters, his heart as warm as the fire felt for how he defended Opportunist.
Jitters' face scrunched up as he tensed up,and he sent Opportunist a light glare as he sharply asked, "Why are you staring at me?"
Opportunist continued to look at him for a few seconds, before bursting out into quiet chuckles. Now Jitters was even more confused as he sat up straighter."What? What is it?"
Opportunist shook his head, and he gave Jitters a cocky grin as he said,"Just didn't know how soft you were,Jitters."
"What do you mean?"
Opportunist bumped shoulders with him as he said,"I'm just flattered that you don't think I have a trick up my sleeve."
Realisation dawned on Jitters, making his body relax but his feathers puff up in embarrassment. "Oh,"he quietly said,"you heard all that?"He nodded. "Yep.Forget Hero-you should be my knight in shining armour."
Jitters rolled his eyes and groaned."I just didn't want him to get the wrong idea."
"Uh-huh,"Opportunist said,still grinning playfully at him,"what would I do without you,Jitters?"
"I just,"Jitters continued,as if deaf to Opportunist's teasing and more concerned with explaining himself,"I don't think there's any point in worrying about stuff like that now."
Opportunist's grin shrunk as he asked,"Stuff like what?"Jitters gestured towards him and answered, "Stuff like if you want to trick us.Because you don't. You're here now with everyone else, helping them stay together, and that should be good enough right now-because it's good enough for me."
Opportunist stared at Jitters, before a shaky, small smile crept up on his face.He quickly ducked his head before Jitters could see,not used to having someone come to his defense before.Usually it was him trying to convince the others to believe him.
He found that he liked the change.
He draped his wing over Jitters and said,"Thanks, Jitters,I appreciate it."
He didn't need to look up to feel the warm smile Jitters sent him.

Donald O'Connor (Singin' in the Rain, Francis, Call Me Madam)— LOOK AT HIM. Those giant blue peepers. Those tappy tappy little feet that don't quit. The ears that stick out like little wings, ready to lift him up to goofy heaven. The way his face contorts into the strangest yet most endearing expressions. His ability to sing and dance alongside the hunk that is Gene Kelly and yet pull all attention away with his big-eyed buffoonery. The way his energy is unmatched in songs like "Make 'em laugh" - bouncing off the walls and tumbling through the air straight into my cold cold heart. Who else but a true scrungly lil guy would sit upon the witness stand and defend a talking mule with all the love and affection in the world - staring out into the court room with his bright wide eyes and eternally mouse-like expression, openly admitting that the mule is his best friend?!??! I see him and I want to pull him from the screen into my hand and just squiiiiiiiiiiiiish with all my might. I want to pinch his cheeks and have him bat those eyes at me. He just makes me go "eeehehehehehe" every time I see him and his silly little self. He is pure chaotic, ridiculous, scrungly perfection!
Mantan Moreland (Mr. Washington Goes to Town, Cabin in the Sky)—i love mantan moreland SO. MUCH. and he is the pERFECT scrungly little guy!!!!! like a lot of black actors at the time he was always getting sidelined into small parts, but unusually he also managed to become a star in his own right and was almost one of the three stooges! he was a groundbreaking comedic actor known for his distinctive stare (very good for the horror movies he did), and he always is way more fun to watch on screen than anyone else. he had a famous double-act where he perfected this technique of non-conversations (where both people keep finishing each other's sentences before any actual information is conveyed). a lot of his movies are free on youtube and i really enjoy seeing him do his silly little guy thing in all of them!!! anyways yeah please include mantan he deserves some recognition as peak scrungle
This is round 3 of the contest. All other polls in this bracket can be found here. If you’re confused on what a scrungle is, or any of the rules of the contest, click here.
[additional submitted propaganda + scrungly videos under the cut]
Donald O'Connor:
youtube
My silliest little guy. My funnyman. My horsie. I have watched many a bad movie for this man. The scrungliest fact I know about him is that he was supposed to star as Danny Kaye's role in the iconic White Christmas (1954), as he had known Bing Crosby since he was a child, but couldn't because he caught a mule disease while working on those Francis the Talking Mule films Universal endlessly made him do. I wouldn't exactly recommend those movies, but Don's character getting psychologically tormented by a sardonic mule does make for quite a good movie night, if you know what you're getting into. Are You With It? is another one I don't exactly recommend, but it does open with Donald as a math genius actuary who is about to kill himself over a displaced decimal point before getting taken in by a traveling carny instead. His more well-known and beloved roles have plenty of scrungliness too, in my opinion. This man slapsticked so hard he wound up bedridden for his physical exertion! Rather than submitting Make 'Em Laugh, which the electorate has likely already seen (I hope), I'm submitting an underrated dance number of his, where he explains maths through tap dance. That movie is Not good, but god do I love him in that role.

I think it's arguably very scrungly to seemingly be a real life cartoon character made out of rubber, as proven by how slapsticky the list of scrunglies is so far. In which case, Donald O'Connor? He scrungles supremely. He even played Buster Keaton in a movie (that apparently can't be recommended, but still).

Mantan Moreland:
here's his double act in action!! [editor's note: Benson Fong cameo too!]
youtube
He just had a scrungly look about him and he played big with his roles so any of it became especially scrungly. Plus he was very funny in the way only scrungly people can be.
the FUNNEST GUY TO WATCH ON SCREEN. he was an immensely gifted physical comedian, able to convey loads with his eyes, and while some of his parts are so sad and cringeworthy, I feel like he always brought a humanity and humor that lifted them beyond cheap stereotype.

Tsukishima Kei
Where the reader is a pro volleyball player and Ukai brought in her team to help teach Karasuno new techniques
______________________________________________________________
Pro!Reader
Tall!Reader
This one is kind of rushed, but I don't mind making a part 2? Left it pretty open ended for everyone to imagine what they want.
"Okay everybody, please behave yourselves." Daichi pleaded with the team.
It was last week that coach Ukai had told them he was bringing in the Yokohama team, a professional group of female volleyball players, in to help with Karasunos technique.
Now, today was the day, and the captain only hoped they wouldn't make a fool of themselves.
· · ────────────────── ·𖥸· ────────────────── · ·
You walked into the gym, right behind your teammates. You felt more nervous than usual, yet tried to keep it calm. It was last week that your coach had sat you guys down and told you about Karasuno, a team full of boys that hoped to go pro. It wasn't you who agreed to this, if anything it seemed like you were the only one against it. Why should we travel so far to help them? What difference does our help make compared to any other?
You saw the group of boys sitting in a group near a bench, eagerly waiting for you all. One boy in particular, a short one with orange hair, immediately sprung up and ran to greet you guys.
"Guys! It's them! It's Yokohama! Have you guys seen their plays!?" He was practically jumping, beaming with excitement. You couldn't help but let out a small chuckle at the pure excitement he displayed at just seeing your team. Karasuno stood to greet you guys, the captains talking. They both agreed that they would pair you guys up by numbers. They went down the line, introducing everyone to their new respective counterpart.
"Eleven, y/n, you'll be working with Tsukishima."
They played a practice match for you guys to observe their play styles. You watched Tsukishima on the court, his effortless blocks. You noted some things you could show him, but you also noted that he was one of the better players you had seen.
You noticed some similarities between you two, most particularly how you both were the tallest on your teams.
"So," He was the first one to speak up as you guys walked to a corner of the gym to practice alone, "What position do you play..?" He mumbled. You let out a small laugh, it was refreshing to be asked something like that. Most people already knew simple things like that about you and immediately jumped into asking the private questions. It was one of the many cons about going pro. "Middle blocker." You replied flatly. He nodded, "Me too." You didn't realize it, but he felt a burn on his cheeks. To him, this was an obvious and stupid question to ask. You looked up at him and realized the height difference. You were used to being too tall for most boys, even though you only stood at 5'11. To some, this was too tall, but somehow he was actually taller than you.
You two had spent the next few hours practicing together, giving him tips on how to get better and small changes he could make. You noticed yourself staring at him a bit more than you probably should have. Admiring the way his hair perfectly framed his face, the way his glasses highlighted his golden brown eyes, his slender fingers. "Are you okay?" You heard him ask.
You snapped out of it, realizing you had been staring. Quietly apologizing, you tried to change the subject. "Have you thought about going pro?" He let out a scoff, as if it was a dumb question. "I wouldn't stick around for this long if I hadn't." You felt the same burning in your face that he had earlier, and just nodded, almost feeling guilty for asking such a dumb question. He noticed this before adding, "Why did you decide to?"
It was a good question, one you hated having to answer. "I'm not.. entirely sure." You paused mid sentence, "My parents were, so it was just kind of expected for me. It's not that I hate it, but sometimes I think of doing other stuff when I get older." He nodded along. You hated being a pro at so young. It drew so much attention towards you and it was hard to keep simple aspects of your life private. You never had many friends outside of your team, couldn't go to public school, and everywhere you went there were cameras flashing in your face. You enjoyed it, but the fame was tiring.
You noticed that this time, he was the one looking at you, studying your features.
· · ────────────────── ·𖥸· ────────────────── · ·
When your team had left, the coaches insisted you all kept in contact with each other. You wouldn't have minded it so much if it weren't for the fact that you just could not stop thinking about him.
It was a few weeks after, you sat outside after practice. Your team mate and best friend, f/n, sat next to you. "Have you talked to that Tsukishima boy yet?" She asked, a sly grin on her face. "No, why?" You questioned. There wasn't much to talk about, but you told him you could text him if he needed any more help. "I saw the way you two were staring at each other, I mean come on, y/n, its a perfect match." You scoffed at her and rolled your eyes. "Why, 'cause we're both tall?" She playfully nudged your shoulder "AND," she added, "You both play the same position! Plus, he's cute."
Your face blushed, you knew she was just teasing you but what was the harm in getting closer to him? She wasn't wrong, he really was cute.
"I don't think I should be getting into relationships though, it would never be private." You looked at her, a tinge of sadness in your eyes at the thought of it. You were never able to have a boyfriend and while you never really wanted one, you started to toy with the idea a little bit after seeing him.
F/n only rolled her eyes, "I think you're dramatic."
Maybe you were, maybe not. What was worth the risk?
· · ────────────────── ·𖥸· ────────────────── · ·
You heard the familiar DING from your phone, a new text from someone.
"It's Tsukishima, thanks for the help last month."
Your heart skipped a beat when you saw his name, realizing he was the one texting you.
"Of course, any time."
It felt embarrassing in a way, wondering if you should've added more or less, looking for a way to keep the conversation going. You didn't have to though, it was like he read your mind.
"Would you wanna go to a cafe with me this weekend?"
Were you imagining things? It wasn't even a minute later that he texted again.
"Sorry, forget it. Nevermind."
Why was he backing down now?
"No wait, I'd love to."
· · ────────────────── ·𖥸· ────────────────── · ·
And so, the following Monday after that weekend, neither of you said a word to anyone, it was the news paper that did the talking for you both.
"Y/N L/N SEEN WITH BOY AT CAFE THIS SATURDAY MORNING."
Included with a picture and all.

do u watch the sonic movies just for agent stone and robotnik
i mean... originally i was going to, yeah! the exact moment the first ever trailer dropped (april 30, 2019) i was already enamored with jim carrey robotnik, and ready to accept that even if sonic's design didn't get changed (which, come on, this is hollywood... usually if an adaptation sucks then it sucks til the bitter end. some of us certainly didnt see the redesign coming), this movie would be my cult classic. flop or no flop. ugly or pretty sonic.
i guess because... i saw a lot of myself in the spin jim was putting on the character! eggman had always been the sonic character that fascinated me the most as i played all the mario & sonic crossover games as a kid, but the particular interpretation of this robotnik- flowing black coats with red trim, someone who grew up as a very lonely kid and so now compensates with leaning into the "lone wolf of evil" aesthetic, someone who has a hard time emoting and feels more like machine than a person so compensates with BIG, LOUD THEATRICS, and a BOMBASTIC TONE OF VOICE! i looked at him and i saw me. i know it sounds a little silly and a lot of jimbotnik's traits come from the fact that that's just jim carrey's style of humour and slapstick but he's just always been kinda special to me even from the beginning.
but yknow, then sonic's design gets fixed! exciting! and february 2020 rolls around, the EXCITEMENT is in the AIR. me i was always going to be fine, nothing about rob needed to be fixed, but now people are actually EXCITED for the movie! YAY!! i head into the movie, and robotnik is everything i could have ever wanted and more. he's silly. he's COOL. he has his own DANCE SCENE. but then i keep getting flashbanged by these SCENES where robotnik keeps getting like, really handsy with his little assistant he has? like he's putting his hands in his mouth and telling him to pin himself against the wall? and then this emotionally-constipated MESS of a man shouts "I LOVE THE WAY YOU MAKE THEM???" WHAT? WHAT? WHAT? WAIT WE'RE JUST MOVING ON? ARE WE GONNA GO BACK? NO?! OKAY!!
so obviously im in love with them. with that aspect of the movie. this improvised relationship where both actors asked themselves the question "wait, if robotnik hates humans, why does he keep this one around?" and that question would stick with me for all these 3 movies. it's just so interesting to think about. not to mention how well stone and robotnik just work together as an onscreen duo
but, y'know, then i started really liking the movie's strange, wacky style of storytelling and jokes- i had never seen a cgi animal movie that took the human characters THIS seriously yknow? and by that i mean characters like tom are goofy ofc but it feels like in movies like smurfs they almost want you to not care about the humans, but here, you have stone going from Figurehead for Robotnik's Parade of Black Suits to Guy Who Genuinely Has An Emotional B-Plot In Sonic 3, because of the love fans showed for the character and for how jim carrey and lee majdoub played off each other. even characters like maddie get more in movie 2 because of how tika sumpter said she wanted her character to do more LIKE... LIKE?!
the humour really gets me too, its so strange in a fun way i love. if i was just watching it for rob and stone i wouldnt be watching the knuckles show. ive grown to ADORE the world of the sonic movies, and the actual superpowered animals are cute too! i like their designs, and yknow, this love i have for the sonic movies HAS inspired me to check out more of the games, the shows, the comics, not only to see more of my beloved robotnik (who, yes, i love EVERY version of now. no version of the eggman can escape my love. he is the perfect man) but also to see the other parts of sonic lore because even if it's not like sonic is my fav of all time... i like the storytelling now!!
but stuff like that- my entire lil rant- i think it's why i try not to get gatekeepy when it comes to fandom. because for every series you were there for in the beginning and have an encyclopedic knowledge of, you will have another one where you're only there for a small part or only have a casual enjoyment of. i like to afford other people that kindness because there come times and places when i will be a casual enjoyer of something, and hopefully people will afford that kindness back to me. because even if i do explore other parts of sonic lore and diligently appreciate all parts of the movie, maybe the fact that i'm so robotnik-&-stone centric is still being too much of a casual for some people. maybe i'm only a fairweather fan. even so- even if people think i'm only watching these movies for rob & stone-
i'm having fun!
