Do you have any slow burn sokkla fics that you'd recommend? I've been wanting to read something like that but I can't seem to find many at all.

Well... I’ve literally written the longest fic in the ATLA fandom x’D and saying that Sokkla aren’t 100% together until chapter 82 may suggest it’s a slowburn? x’D admittedly, for some people, slowburn is zero romantic interaction for like 90 chapters, I couldn’t really do that, these two are too powerful to be contained and they were as desperate to be together as I was to push them together, soooo... 82 it was xD It’s really so satisfactory to know they’ve been together for much longer than they haven’t in the story... slowburn and a looooong payoff for it. That’s what I do :’D

So, if you haven’t checked out Gladiator yet, that’s one possible place to start in the business of slowburn Sokkla xD but there’s other places where you can start too, of course!

I can’t think of too many super long Sokkla fics, but I can say the Madness cycle series by Keith B. Real might suit you (unless you’re against Lovecraftian lore?). There’s a ton of bonding and working together throughout the first installment, they only get together somewhere like halfway through the second one? So that might satisfy your needs for slowburn, hopefully :D

Then there’s also the Smoke Demons saga by @madamezuki, which does have heavy focus on Zuki as well, but Sokka and Azula do take a long time to get together there, if I recall right their relationship has been developing for at least around 4-5 entries within the series, some of them multichapter, no less xD again, just might be what you’re looking for!

Another one that comes to mind atm is @thingsareswinging‘s fic, The Gentleman of Weapons, where they were last seen making progress towards actually getting together (?) At least, if I recall correctly and if I didn’t miss out on any updates xD but that one’s also fairly long, lots of build up, lots of worldbuilding, a very thorough AU all in all. And again, a slowburn xD

I’m not entirely sure how long it takes them to get together properly in this one? The chapters all flowed so smoothly xD but I’ll Meet You At The Bottom by @bellatrixobsessed1 was another multichapter long Sokkla fic, it delves into some dark subjects, but if you’re okay with that, this one might work for you as well.

As I’ve mentioned elsewhere, I am, admittedly, outdated with many Sokkla fics that have been popping up in recent times, so there might be more proper and amazing slowburn fics out there and I just don’t know it! But I can definitely recommend these four, as well as bring up my main fic in case that interests you as well :D hope you have fun reading!
