the thing about malbonte’s route, and pretty much the difference between malbonte and lucifer, is that while they both have enemies to lovers trope, only one of them has character development, lucifer starts the story as a jerk, toxic and aggressive, ofc after all he’s lucifer, him being soft would be boring, but throughout the story you can see him changing, growing, being vunerable with vicky, letting her in, so lucifer is the enemies to lovers route with character  development, which is what many people in here loves, BUT malbonte is not like that, he doesn’t have an development, the only growth in him is falling in love with vicky, other than that he’s still cold, distant, and always puts his goals in front of everything, at the end of the og books, he’s the same, he did what he had to do, killed people, and he’s not sorry for that, he completed his goals, so i can understand why his route might not be for everyone, bc he doesn’t change who he is for her, and tbh i think it’s a little refreshing to me, bc all the enemies to lovers couples i loved/love the guy almost always changes for the girl, and malbonte doesn’t, he loves her, but he’s still the same, when you are playing his route you can see that, he is almost never vulnerable with vicky, since the og books, he shares some stuff about him and what happened with him but never in a deeper sense you know? just the tip of the iceberg, and vicky still falls in love with him like this, idk i just love how complex their storyline/relationship is.
