Damn, I was kind of against that "Enemies to Lovers" loveline from the beginning, between the second couple Ja Yeon and Bok Gyu Hyun, because it was more "Abuser and Victim to Lovers". I don't like that forced sympathy for someone who deliberately tried to hurt someone with their words (over a hundred times). I don't think that shit should be romanticized.
But from the beginning, it felt like the dude never took it seriously, his main focus was hiding he's rich. The second time they met, he even snapped at her, like, did you think you'll apologize once and she'll forgive you?! Oh you're having a bad day? What about all the bad days you gave her??
And the volunteering, he's not even doing it genuinely, lying, buying machines, making his secretary do more than half the work (on his day off may I add, which is just abuse of power as well).
I understand the show is trying to make us sympathize with him cuz his father is hard on him since youth, but that doesn't excuse you from wrongdoings, that you should genuinely repent for.
She's so sweet, and I really don't want her to end up with a dude who'll only repent once he falls in love with her, instead of the secretary who buys her food, remembers what she liked, goes out to meet her, believes she's a great writer.
I don't think any victim of verbal abuse would fall in love with their abuser, when said abuser genuinely don't even realize what they did wrong.

I'm sorry but them nct members had to have known and either didn't gaf or just turned the other way and continued to be friends with this man until his ass got caught so they had to drop.him. I'm so angry.
being wary is valid and i’m not saying none of them knew - i definitely think they all need to be looked into because one bad apple truly does spoil the whole bunch - but i’m also not going to assume that they knew or were complicit in it. it’s definitely not impossible. i’ve been in situations where i’ve grown up around people or known people for years and yet i never realized they were predators until their victims came forward. i know people who have been in this situation as well.
one of the most important things i tell people about abusers is that is that they are not abusive 24/7. sure, it’s who they are at their core, but it’s dangerous to have the mindset that someone is always abusive. this is literally a classic example of why victims go back to their abuser. the story goes like this: he hit you tuesday, wednesday he was nice and apologized, thursday he bought you flowers and a nice meal, sunday he hit you again, next morning he apologizes, and the cycle repeats.
this doesn’t even apply solely to physical, domestic, or sexual abuse. here’s another example. growing up, my mom and i never had the best relationship with each other. i’ve tried to cut her some slack because it’s difficult being a single mom, but many times she was physically and verbally abusive, manipulative, and overall unbearable. sometimes when i was a teenager, i would get so upset with her that i would constantly think about leaving and never speaking to her again. i wanted nothing to do with her. the resentment i nursed for her would fester year by year and i rightfully felt wronged for how she treated me. but then, there were some days, not many but a few, where she was nice. where i could talk and laugh with her. where i would buy her things and feel safe and comfortable. for a moment, the resentment i harbored would disappear. i would forget how incompetent, manipulative, and neglectful she could be, and i thought to myself, maybe she’s not so bad. but you know what would always happen? she would default back to her ways, and the indignation would return just as quickly.
my point is that abusers are not always in a state of violence and fucked up shit in general. this is why you always have that one person going, “but he never hit me!” trust me, they know how to hide how sick they are. they know what they do is wrong and they know that unless they put up this facade of innocence, they will be seen for who they really are. once again, i am not saying that no one knew. but i think the most important thing is to focus on what we know for a fact is true.

Bakugou, while not "tortured" like other characters, was - like those other characters - a product of his environment.
He was a literal child who said and did shitty things because he was arrogant and self absorbed and deeply, deeply insecure. He felt confused and threatened and he didn't know how to handle those feelings. He defaulted to anger and arrogance because that's what he knew and was comfortable with - and that was repeatedly excused or even encouraged by the adults in his life.
We're literally told in chapter one that (while still largely excused) his behavior is unusually extreme. We START at his absolute worst moment (in middle school!) and watch him struggle to untangle his mess and improve from there.
And he faced real world consequences, some of which were off the charts disproportionate! (like being muzzled and restrained in front of a national audience, or you know, kidnapped and nearly killed by adult villains and feeling personally responsible for the end of his personal hero) but his "victim" never showed him anything but grace, understanding, and admiration.
Then, still a child, he came to realize - mostly on his own - that he had been wrong, that his behavior was shitty and unjustified, and he wanted to change. And he stuck to that, making great effort to atone with his actions and then very publicly verbally owning up to what he'd done and apologizing as well.
And he was very clear in that he did not expect to be forgiven or for them to be as close as they used to be. His only concern was undoing damage he'd contributed to, being a better hero and friend, and protecting the life and happiness of someone he cared about.
Endeavor was a grown ass man with an obsession who emotionally and physically abused his wife and children until his past literally came back to bite him in the ass. It took him his whole adult life to realize he was wrong. Not even the violent death of his son or his wife literally losing her mind was enough.
He was pushed into change by the sudden pressure and spotlight of being the #1 hero and his children's unhidden disgust and contempt that he could no longer ignore.
And yes he also made a continuous effort to change, but he had a LOT more to make up for and right alongside that he expected this effort to be met with a perfect happy ending and "being a family again" until the past once again refused to go quietly into the night.
Kind of comparing apples and oranges, and being mad that the oranges aren't pineapples, no?
Can you stop with the with the whole “bully secretly loves his victim,” BS with Bakugou?
It’s pathetic.
Bakugou shouldn’t have never gotten a redemption arc.
His redemption arc is crap compared to Endeavor’s.
Bakugo is worse than Shigaraki. Shigaraki was a tortured character.
Dabi was a tortured character,
Toga was a tortured character.
Bakugo was a a butthurt spoiled brat who had everything handed to him and threw a fit when he wasn’t getting his way and tortured and blamed Deku for everything.
Stop being a bully apologist.
Die mad ✌️

Hiii! I meant to send this last week, but I forgot. You mentioned you wanted to gush about TW? Gush away! What are the popular or unpopular ships, whether canon or fanon, that you don't get, and why? :-D
Tumblr media
Hey @wordspin-shares ! No worries, we all lose track of things!
That is an excellent question and I just want to thank you for giving me the chance to rant about Teen Wolf and stuff because it really gives me motivation to write!!
TW: Before I go on, I know the fandom can be sensitive about ships, so let me make it clear for anyone who comes across this, this is just MY opinion. This is not fact, this is not hate, this is just ships that I don't personally get and why I don't get them. If anyone wants to have a civil, rational discussion about any of this, you're free too. I am a flexible person, so I like to rationalise and understand my perspectives and other people's perspectives. I'm all for respecting others (unless of course, others are spreading hate or toxicity).
Teen Wolf Ships I Don't Get (Just My Opinion, Don't Hate Me)
Stiles Stilinski x Peter Hale
I kind of understand how people came to ship it. The two have great banter, witty moments and interactions, especially in Season 1 and Season 3a. Season 6a, they were stuck in the Ghost Rider's train station so that was bound to get everyone in love with the Forced Proximity trope hot under the collar. Not to mention Peter is hot.
Things that don't engage me about this ship:
Peter is old enough to be Stiles' dad.
Stiles is a teenager for a good portion of the show (16 - 18) and Peter is in his 40s.
Peter is Malia's father, who Stiles canonically dates.
Maybe if I saw more fics where Stiles was out of highschool before he was paired with an older man, than maybe I could enjoy it but I can't.
Another thing that I don't get is why Stiles is constantly positioned as a timid, damsel in distress to Peter's big bad wolf?
One of the things I love about Stiles as a character is that he might be in the most terrifying situation, but he's anything but timid. He'll verbally kick the ass of every single Teen Wolf big bad and that's like erased in fanon when he's suddenly next to a big bad wolf?
Additionally, the narrative that Peter is the rescuer to help empanicpate Stiles from his supposed abuser and villain, Scott, doesn't really make sense to me but that applies to almost every single Stiles x villain pairing so…
Tumblr media
Scott McCall x Malia Tate
Look, their sexual chemistry was pretty good, all thing considering. It just that Scalia had no romantic build up. To me, when I was watching Teen Wolf, it came out of nowhere with no hints of anything between them prior to Season 6b.
There was not a strong relationship between them besides friendship and packmates before Season 6b. I guess you could count him being the one to turn her back to human in Season 3a as a form of connection, but to me this only meant that she became part of his pack.
Maybe if their relationship had grown from that moment in 3a instead of Stalia's (which didn't have so much as chemistry but a fantastic build up and plotline), then maybe I would be able to understand it and even enjoy it.
Honestly though, after Allison, Scott's best canonical relationship was with Kira, who matched him well in both personality, development and storyline. Ironically enough, my favourite Malia ship is also with Kira. I just love Kira, guys.
I think there are some ships that are better platonic, and I especially find Scott and Malia's relationship lacking in fics where they just come off as stoic co-leaders rather than actual romantic partners.
Tumblr media
Jordan Parrish x Lydia Martin
I understand that from a narrative standpoint, their connection as Hellhound and Banshee would obviously leave them with some sort of tension and that would have probably engaged me if their human identities were completely different.
Specifically, if Parrish was not, say, 24, a grown man, and a police officer. Whereas, Lydia is, what, 17-18 Season 4-5a, but still a teenage girl in highschool.
The power imbalance between their human identities is just off-putting, and if there's one thing about me that you should know it's that I can't ship two characters who are not equals in someway or another. It's not as bad as Stiles and Peter, but any young girl getting into a relationship with a man in position of authority just isn't my cup of tea. If there's a huge disreprency in respect, age, trust, power or authority, than it just puts me off.
Maybe if their connection was approached differently from on the show? If anyone knows fics that could help me acclimate this ship, that would be great?
Tumblr media
If anyone has anymore questions about my personal Teen Wolf preferences and headcannons, I am open to discussion at anytime!
[[ RE: Discussion, not Hate. If you send Hate, you will be blocked. If you send Anon Hate, it won't see the light of day on my blog, so why bother send it?]]

I would like to take a moment and ask...did Beast ever actually support anything Ben did as King? As well, why did the guards listen to the former king when Beast motioned for them to take Hades out of the room near the end of D3? Also, Beastie, how was the mess at Family Day BEN'S fault? YOU WERE THE ONE WHO DECIDED TO KEEP CHILDREN ON AN ISLAND WITH VILLAINS AND DIDN'T STEP IN WHEN LEAH STARTED VERBALLY ASSAULTING YOUR SON'S GIRLFRIEND AND YOUR SON! Sorry...I have rage when it comes to Beast.
No dude it’s fine, like please rage away!
It is canon that not once did Beast actually support any of Ben’s decisions, he constantly blamed not only the VKs but Ben as well for the fact that a grown ass adult started attacking a teenager for actions that were beyond her control. Even Fairy Godmother did nothing during the Family Day debacle, she literally just shook her head and they all acted like Ben was a terrible person for sticking up for people who are literal victims of abuse, emotional neglect and trauma.
As for the guards listening to Beast I feel like that is out of fear, he’s a pretty big guy and he has a presence about him that is very demanding and forceful - you can see it in the way Ben and Belle both react around him - and they’re his family. He is a very aggressive person still and you’d think that his experiences with judgement and spells would make him naturally be kinder, since that’s the whole reason he got cursed in the first place but noooooo. And the thing that irks me is that he’s still such a looming presence because people feel intimidated by him and it’s because of the way he goes about things, what he says and how he treats them even after they save the entire kingdom he’s still in the back uming and arring about whether or not they deserve respect.
The fact that even in D3 he’s like “oh no, you can’t set the kids trapped on the Isle free, no” when it literally isn’t even his desicion anymore. What I wouldn’t give to have Uma toss him over the side of the bridge or lock him in the Isle because quite frankly he is more bothersome with his high and mighty attitude than the actual villains ffs.
So legit, feel free to come here and rant about Beast all you want. Anyone who watched the same films I did should know he’s trash, just a bitter man who gets his kicks throwing his irrelevant weight around.

The Girl Out of Time
Pairing: Bucky x Reader and Sam x Reader
Background: Willow Roffe was born and raised in Brooklyn. She lived her life as happily as she could with her two childhood best friends Bucky Barnes and Steve Rogers. When they both left her to join the military she tried to continue with life but that didn't get to happen for her for the simple fact that she meant something to James Buchanan Barnes.
Rating: Story will be overall MATURE but not every chapter. There will be strong language, talk of both mental and physical abuse, some good ole angst, and smut. There will be a warning at the beginning of the chapter when it includes smut.
Chapter 25
Tumblr media
I stayed in my seat next to Steve. He was flipping threw the accords now. Sam has gotten up to stand behind us next to Rhodey. Then he had to make a smart comment sending Rhodey into a tangent.
"Secretary Ross has a Congressional Medal of Honor which is one more than you have." Rhodey snapped at him.
"So let's say we agree to this thing. How long is it gonna be before they LoJack us like a bunch of common criminals?" Sam asked harshly.
I turned in my seat to watch the two. Rhodey sighed as he rubbed his eyes.
"117 countries want to sign this. 117, Sam, and you're just like, 'No, that's cool. We got it.'" Rhodey said sarcastically.
"How long are you going to play both sides?" Sam asked narrowing his eyes at the other man.
"I have an equation." Vision spoke up.
"Oh, this will clear it up." Sam said rolling his eyes.
I turned to face the once AI who was sitting next to Wanda.
"In the eight years since Mr. Stark announced himself as Iron Man the number of known enhanced persons has grown exponentially. During the same period the number of potentially world-ending events has risen at a commensurate rate." Vision explained.
"Are you saying it's our fault?" Steve asked as he looked up from the page he was reading.
"I'm saying there may be a causality. Our very strength invites challenge. Challenge invites conflict. And conflict breeds catastrophe. Oversight, oversight is not an idea that can be dismissed out of hand." Vision said slowly.
"Boom" Rhodey whispered towards Sam.
"Tony. You're being uncharacteristically non-hyper verbal." Nat said.
I looked over to Tony who was slouched in his seat on the couch rubbing his head.
"It's because he's already made up his mind." Steve said as he flipped a page.
"Boy, you know me so well." Tony groaned as he got up.
"Actually, I'm nursing an electromagnetic headache. That's what's going on, Cap. It's just pain. It's discomfort." Tony said as he walked into the kitchen.
"Who's putting coffee grounds in the disposal? Am I running a bed and breakfast for a biker gang?" He asked harshly.
He turned away from the sink then tossed something onto the counter. A holographic picture of a young boy came up. Tony took a deep breath.
"Oh, that's Charles Spencer, by the way. He's a great kid. Computer engineering degree, 3.6 GPA, had a floor level gig at Intel planned for the fall. But first, he wanted to put a few miles on his soul before he parked it behind a desk. See the world. Maybe be of service. Charlie didn't want to go to Vegas or Fort Lauderdale which is what I would do. He didn't go to Paris or Amsterdam, which sounds fun. He decided to spend his summer building sustainable housing for the poor. Guess where. Sokovia. He wanted to make a difference, I suppose. We won't know because we dropped a building on him while we were kicking ass." Tony took another deep breath.
Even though I wasn't even close to Sokovia I still felt partly at fault. I felt guilty for everything that had happened even if I wasn't apart of it.
"There's no decision-making process here. We need to be put in check! Whatever form it takes, I'm game. If we can't accept limitations, if we're boundary-less we're no better than the bad guys." Tony's voice fell into a soft and exhausted tone.
"Tony, someone dies on your watch, you don't give up." Steve said sternly.
"Who said we're giving up?" Tony asked raising a brow at Steve.
"We are if we're not taking responsibility for our actions. This document just shifts the blame." Steve said as he tossed the papers back onto the table.
"I'm sorry, Steve. That is dangerously arrogant. This is the United Nations we're talking about. It's not the World Security Council, it's not Shield, it's not Hydra." Rhodey explained.
"No, but it's run by people with agendas, and agendas change." Steve said simply.
"That's good. That's why I'm here. When I realized what my weapons were capable of in the wrong hands I shut it down and stopped manufacturing." Tony told him as he walked around the counter.
“Tony, you chose to do that. If we sign this, we surrender our right to choose. What if this panel sends us somewhere we don’t think we should go? What if there’s somewhere we need to go and they don’t let us? We may not be perfect, but the safest hands are still our own.” Steve tried to explain.
“If we don’t do this now, it’s gonna be done to us later. That’s the fact. That won’t be pretty.” Tony said simply.
“You’re saying they’ll come for me.” Wanda said softly.
“We would protect you.” Vision told her.
“Maybe Tony’s right. If we have one hand on the wheel, we can still steer. If we take it off-“ Nat started to explain.
“Aren’t you the same woman who told the government to kiss her ass a few years ago?” Sam asked.”
I glanced over to Steve who looked absolutely exhausted. I knew he didn’t want this. He looked like he was wracking his brain for anything to say to convince the others.
“I’m just reading the terrain. We have made some very public mistakes. We need to win their trust back.” Nat told Sam.
“Focus up. I’m sorry. Did I just mishear you or did you agree with me?” Tony asked in his normal sarcasm.
“I want to take it back now.” Nat practically groaned.
“No, you can’t retract it. Thank you. Unprecedented. Okay. Case closed. I win.” Tony shrugged happily.
A soft buzzing had me looking down at Steve’s lap. He pulled his phone out then read over the words on the screen. His entire demeanor changed.
“I have to go.” He said then immediately left the room without another word.
“What?” Tony asked after he was already gone.
I looked back to see Sam already watching me. I’m sure he could tell something was up as well. We both made our way out of the room to try to find Steve. He hadn’t gotten that far. By the time we got out to the sidewalk he was standing there with red puffy eyes. I ran straight to him pulling him into me for a hug.
“She’s gone. Peggy’s gone.” He said softly.
Sam and I both decided to join Steve for the funeral. Neither of us wanted him to be alone. The three of us sat in the front pew. Steve was squeezed between us. I watched as Sharon, the “nurse” that lived down the hall from Steve and I, stepped up to the podium.
“Margret Carter was known to most as a founder of Shield but I just knew her as Aunt Peggy.” She started.
I glanced at Steve who looked completely surprised by her statement.
“She has a photograph in her office. Aunt Peggy standing next to JFK. As a kid, that was pretty cool. But it was a lot to live up to. Which is why I never told anyone we were related.” Sharon glanced at Steve as if she was talking directly to him.
“I asked her once how she managed to master diplomacy and espionage in a time when no one wanted to see a woman succeed at either. She said, compromise where you can. But where you can’t, don’t. Even if everyone is telling you that something wrong is something right. Even if the whole world is telling you to move it is your duty to plant yourself like a tree look them in the eye and say no, you move.” Sharon said with as much passion as Steve.
She was one hell of a speech giver. If that speech effected me I can only imagine what it did to Steve. I had a feeling Sharon’s words just concreted everything Steve had been thinking about. When the service was over Sam and I stood outside to give Steve his moment alone. Nat came jogging up to church steps toward us.
“So?” I asked.
“It’s done.” She nodded.
“He’s inside” Sam told her.
She nodded then walked in to find Steve.
“What now?” I asked Sam.
“I have a feeling we’re just getting started.” He huffed as he shoved his hands in his pockets.
I had the same feeling. After all this I’m sure Steve wasn’t going to back down.
