#but she was the family's bulbasaur before she was my partner

So I have this for my own sanity...
In the distant future of the False Twins AU, the family tree is something like:
Damian and Delia have one bio kid in Silver, who eventually leads to all the future human family members (Lilith, Myst, Adrien, Dianthus, Ceaser, Nicole, and Richie).
Blue, Spot, and Alpha are the clone Mews that become part of the family later on.
Mewtwos lay eggs asexually in the case of this AU, and one egg can have multiple mon. As the hatched babies age, they will grow into their final forms of their hybrid evolutionary lines, so, for example, if someone was a Bulbasaur fusion, they'd eventually grow into a Venasaur fusion.
Peach is an Ampharos fusion (Psychic/Electric). She adopts an alt shiny Mewtwo Pepper (Psychic), who shares DNA thanks to time-space shenanigans, but also has Raisin the Zorua (Psychic/Dark) fusion a few years later. Peach is in a relationship with Pheonix the Infernape.
Down the line, Pepper has her own twins - a full Mew named Sunshine (Psychic) and a full Mewtwo named Sunset (Psychic).
Indigo is an Absol fusion (Psychic/Dark). Indigo is mates with Hades the Obstegoon and Latios (I tried to find his name but I had no luck please help). Their kids are Punch the Buneary hybrid (Psychic/Normal), Coral the Togepi Hybrid (Psychic/Fairy?), and Rose the Happiny hybrid (Psychic/Normal). At this time, Indigo has no cannon grandkids.
Ash is a Lucario hybrid (Psychic/Fighting). He's Ace and has no romantic partners. His first kid is Red the Tepig hybrid (Psychic/Fire) followed a few years later by the triplets, Ember the Pichu hybrid (Psychic/Electric), Cinder the Cottonee hybrid (Psychic/Grass?), and Coal the Pancham hybrid (Psychic/Fighting?).
From Red, we eventually get Ashy, who is a Hisuian Cyndaquil hybrid (Psychic/Fire?).
Ash also has at least one adoptive baby in Lucario, but he may have others as he's likely to bring home and keep eggs.
*DEEEP BREATHE* And THEN we also have Damian who is brothers with Giovanni, though that isn't revealed yet in the timeline.
In the time of Adult!Triplets but before Delia and Damian have adult grandkids, Peach becomes a Pokémon professor, Ash is a champion/gym leader (if he's a type specialist please let me know), and Indigo is a Coordinator. At least until they reach the first 100 year age mark, they try to maintain balance between human and pokemon sides, but later they sometimes go one way or another.
There's also an Archie in there somewhere, but I'm unsure who that is.
Please let me know if there are any corrections needed. I just really like your AU and want to make sure I have my brain right.
Archie is apart of the Human family tree!
And yeah, you got it almost 100% spot on except for some minor things (its like 2 or smth dont worry).
The first generation Mewtwos are the only ones that lay eggs as they're dna is more closely tied to their pokemon side in this instance. All the other Twos have natural births
Ashy is a Psychic/Ghost type
Giovanni does not ever get included in the family tree because none of them see him as family anymore :)
Other than that you got it!

Oh, I don't know if someone's asked this before, but what would Peach's favorite Pokemon of each Type be?
Peach would walk around the lab, trying to decide what’s the top of each type, in a moral dilemma at every turn.
Water? Ok, pretty easy toss up, she has two water type Pokemon by choice, so that’d be a Dreadnaw or a Golisopod, she did the Galar gym circuit with a particularly shy Golisopod who totally destroyed its foe despite the nerves it had, and it really impressed her. She gave it so many opportunities to retire but it was really brave despite being a big wuss haha, still is on the island to this day.
Fire... I mean Torkoal is neat, nothing wrong with a heatmore, she knows Charizard well, handles enough of them. But with Val staring at her, almost reading her mind like some creepy horror movie character? Has to be a vulpix. Or peach is dead haha! How could she betray such a loyal partner by choosing anything else?
Grass. Damn man, so difficult. The greenhouse is rife with Pokemon, all excellent. Oddish started her love, but meganium is one of her actual starters, and bulbasaur! How cute are those. Cherrim, sunflora, bellossom? Dammmmmn difficult choice. She would circle the idea of choosing just one for hours. Perhaps the others would be easier to do first.
Electric, vikavolt, or maybe a magnemite. Cute, small.
Rock...uhhh, onix are beloved. Gigalith are neat too... she has a soft spot for bonsly. But i suppose, based on her work with them, she's got a very hot headed Midnight Lycanroc who works guard duty, and that has to be top of the list for her. purely because of its fiery nature.
Ground, toss up between Donphan and Steelix.
Normal, SO hard to pick theres so many good ones. Stantler or Ursaring if she's real honest with herself.
Fighting, Pangoro are great fun, but Heracross are a firm top fav.
Fairy, Ribombee or Florges for sure, both equally great!
Dragon would beeee...hm. Noivern line, very cool, big personlaities.
Bug. Super tough, loves a bug. Paras hold a special place in her heart.
Ghost. I man she's nervous around ghosts, but Shuppet are very useful, and Phantump are very sweet.
Dark. Shiftree or Tyranitar for sure, she's connected with too many of those to not think of them first when talking dark types.
Psychic, probably Elgyem. Has worked with one for a long time in her personal training time. Has come to love them.
Poison, a family fav typing, she handles so many! Bulbasaur or Roserade come to mind, but damn, Nidos are cool!
Ice. Not a fan, but likes Sneasel a lot! Plus they adapt to warmer climates just fine.
Steel - Scizor or Bronzong for sure!
Flying Crobat, Tropius, Noctowl...how is this so hard to pick just one?!
This is always so hard to do, it's sat in my draft box for so long!

Kindling Friendship (Pt. 2)
Part 1
"But he's my best friend! How could you just... give him away!?"
Oh dear... Perhaps letting this young man get so attached to a pokemon that isn't his wasn't such a good idea after all, thought the Professor.
"I'm... very sorry, Aiden, but, as I said, these pokemon were for gym challengers to start their journey and, unfortunately, a young lady chose Charmander to be her partner..." Oak knew this would be a rather sore disappointment to Aiden and had even tried to play up the strengths of the other two pokemon to make them more enticing, but no, Vivian wanted Charmander...
Tears welled up in Aiden's eyes. He fled from the lab without another word, back to the home his family was renting for the summer, up to his bed and cried.
For the next week, Aiden was hardly seen nor heard around town. He spent most of his time playing video games in his room. While his parents were a bit distraught at their son's behavior, they were at least glad he wasn't such a handful. Surely he'd get over this...
__________________
Back at Oak's lab, it seemed Vivian was not having the grand, pokemon adventure she was expecting.
"I don't understand," she sniffled. "He won't listen to anything I say. He doesn't even seem to like me at all. Does this mean I'm a bad trainer? Maybe... I shouldn have pokemon..." She couldn't stop herself from crying.
Charmander laid curled up under a desk chair against the wall and the professor rubbed his chin.
"No," he assured. "No, I don't think that's it at all. Trainers choose their pokemon, it's true, but pokemon have equal ability to choose their trainer. It seems Charmander here has simply made up his mind on who he wants to train him. But," he enthused before she had a chance to think this meant she wasn't good enough, "this has nothing to do with your abilities as a trainer or your right to befriend pokemon! You simply must find the one that's right for you!"
As if on cue, Bulbasaur waddled up and wiped the tears from Vivian's face with one of his vines. She smiled down at him.
"There! You see? I'd say your ability with pokemon is just fine!"

That evening, there was a knock at Aiden't door.
"Ah! Hello, Mrs. Johanson," Oak greeted. "Is Aiden home?"
"...What did he do this time..?" She shot a look towards the couch where Aiden shrunk down a bit.
"Eh-heh, N-no, no! Aiden hasn't done anything at all! However," He cleared his throat and tried to make himself seem more serious. "It seems that his Charmander has been causing quite a bit of trouble for a young trainer..."
Aiden perked up and peeked over the back cushions. When the Professor opened the pokeball, he just about knocked over the couch hopping over the back. "Blaze!" He ran and hugged his equally excited friend.
"...'Blaze?'" His mother looked slightly horrified. "Ah... I think he's still a bit too young to have a pokemon. Especially a, uh,... fire type..."
Oak laughed. "Well, I'm afraid my Bulbasaur is now spoken for and you wouldn't want him causing a flood with a Squirtle now, would you?" He winked. "The two of them will be fine! You know, it's rather uncommon for a someone so young to build such a strong relationship with a pokemon. It's a bit unorthodox for children under the age of ten, but I'd suggest Aiden and Blaze, here, make an attempt at the gym challenge."
The two partners looked excited at the prospect of such a challenge and beamed at the worried parent with a toothy "pleeeeaaaase?"
Oak crossed his arms, smiled and shook his head. "You know, I have a rather troublesome grandson, as well, Mrs. Johanson. Your boy reminds me of him, a bit. I've encouraged my little scoundrel to peruse the challenge as well, when he's ready. It can be a good direction for a young boy's energy! And," he leaned in to Mrs. Johanson, hand to his cheek and voice hushed, "it gets them out of your hair for a while!"
Aiden's mother hemmed and hawed a bit with her son and his pokemon waiting with baited breath for her response.
"Hmmm... Alright..." she conceded.
Aiden cheered and Blaze nearly ignited a window curtain with his tail as the two of them celebrated.
"Just! Take it outside, please!"
The two of them ran out to play and the mother stood watching in the doorway next to Oak. "I hope you're right about this..."
"Oh, yes," Oak assured. "I have sent quite a few children on their first journeys with pokemon. What the two of them have is indeed special and rather rare. I'm certain they'll see great success as partners."
__________________
Now officially a pokemon trainer, Aiden was all too eager to set forth on his adventure. A neighbor had gifted him with a few pokeballs and a potion and so he set off through the tall grass. It was there he encountered a familiar Spearow preening her still singed feathers.
"Oh. It's you!"
The bird reacted with a defensive "kraw!"
Aiden frowned and pulled a berry from his pocket. "I'm really sorry I hit you with a rock... I didn't mean to. I didn't know you were in that tree..." He set the fruit on the ground between them and took a few steps back.
Spearow tilted her head to the side and cautiously approached the berry. She seemed a bit sheepish as she ate, perhaps feeling that she had been a bit too rash last they met.
"Hey! We're going on our Gym Challenge! Do you want to come, too?"
The bird hopped back at his excitement.
"How 'bout if he have another battle? A real one this time! Then you can see how strong we are! And if we win, you come with us and get strong, too!"
Spearow thought a moment before planting her feet and and accepting the challenge with an enthusiastic caw.
Their battle was much less sloppy and awkward then before and the Spearow was left exhausted, but satisfied. Aiden tossed a ball which twitched once before, snap! The wild Spearow was caught!
Aiden held the ball triumphantly. "We did it! We caught our first pokemon!" He tapped his chin. "Hm, what's a good name for a Spearow..?" He snapped. "Talon! Ok, your name is Talon! We're an awesome team and nothing's gonna stop us!"
He was feeling like an ace trainer already as he placed the ball in his backpack and made his way to Viridian City.

Hunger Games AU
(This is an excerpt from my namelessshipping hunger games AU which I may or may not ever finish. Plot is basically that Red and Blue are tributes in the hunger games from different districts. In this Leaf is the other tribute from District 12 along with Blue and Lyra is the other tribute from District 11 and Red’s little sister.
Blue is basically the “Katniss Everdeen” of this AU. He’s a skilled archer and has been hunting outside of the fences around district 12 since he was old enough to hold a bow. Leaf is his hunting partner. He’s good at shooting, she’s good at setting traps. They are best friends and work together to feed each other’s families. Blue’s confident and conspiratorial attitude in interviews makes him the face of the resistance against the capitol, and every other tribute’s number one target.
Red and Lyra are from the agriculture district. Red is strong and muscular from years of working in the fields. Lyra is much slimmer and smaller, but she is known for being able to climb to the tops of the trees in the orchards to pick the fruit there, and also for signalling to the rest of the workers when the workday is over by singing a distinctive tune which all of the Chatot in the woods copy. Red is quiet and goes out of his way to abide by the rules, but would do anything to protect his little sister.
Red starts falling for Blue the moment they meet each other before the opening ceremony. Because he knows they are doomed to never be together, he denies his feelings and tries to avoid him altogether. He’s in enough danger already, anyway, without being associated with Blue. But when they are drawn together in the arena, he is forced to face them.
The scene below is the Opening Ceremony.)
“How do I look?” Asked Lyra softly, picking up her shimmery pastel green skirt, which almost exactly matched the color of his suit, with her fingers. She gave him a tentative smile, searching his eyes.
The large, pink flower that rose around her neck almost matched the one attached to his back, peeking out over his shoulders, but not quite. His petals were squared off, while hers were more frilly and rimmed with white. According to his stylist, she was supposed to resemble the pokemon Magenium, and him a Venusaur. He had to admit— he’d done a good job with the design. He’d only ever seen a Venusaur once, when he was a little kid and had gotten lost in the orchards, and had apparently stumbled on the territory of a herd of Bulbasaur and their very angry mother. He didn’t remember much of what happened after his father had intervened, but the image of the giant flower on its back burned in his mind, and the memory was immediately drug from the depths of his brain when he saw himself in the mirror after Burgh was done with him.
He wasn’t sure about how striking the resemblance was of Lyra’s outfit to a Meganium, but he was sure of one thing—“You look great,” he told her, placing a hand on her shoulder like he used to do every first day of school when she looked up at him with that same anxious look in her brown eyes that she did now. He smiled at her, warmly, in what he hoped was a reassuring manner. He felt the tension release from her shoulders as she let out her breath in an airy little giggle.
“Thank you,” she whispered. “You look good, too.”
Well, he would hope so, anyway, what with all the torture he had endured at the hands of Burgh and the rest of his assistants. He had no idea how many products they had used on his hair on his skin, but both still faintly tingled.
He was about to steer her towards their waiting carriage, drawn by two very patient looking Mudsdale, when a voice called out, “Hey!”
Red, startled, turned around to see the boy and girl tributes from District 12. Both were wearing one-piece outfits made from some sort of silky, flowing material, hers red, his nearly a golden shade of orange that matched his hair. The boy, evidently the one that had spoken, raised his hand in a wave, a grin pasted on his lips. Red was baffled by how completely relaxed the pair of them seemed—especially considering what district they came from, and, of course, the fact that they were about to enter a parade to kick off the coordinated massacre that would ultimately result in their deaths.
“Cool outfits,” he continued. “Too bad we’re about to completely upstage you.”
Red felt his eyes narrow and his teeth grind into his jaw. “In that?” He asked incredulously, pointing to their fairly plain outfits, which he now realized resembled pajamas. Other than the dark black eyeliner that rimmed both of their eyes with points so sharp they could cut through someone’s skin and the faint smear of eye shadow above each of their eyes, they were both altogether lackluster.
The girl shook her head in exasperation and stepped forward. “I apologize for my friend,” she said. “We just wanted to introduce ourselves. My name is Leaf, and this is Blue.”
She bravely extended her hand to him. After several seconds of hesitation, Red decided he might as well take it. “Charmed,” he muttered.
“Psst,” Blue interrupted in a stage whisper. “This is the part where you tell us who you are.”
Red’s face scrunched up in annoyance, and he turned a glare his way. He had no intention at all of answering, but Lyra, apparently, did.
“I’m Lyra,” she said. “This is Red.”
Blue’s face suddenly became serious, the smile disappearing. “Hey, um… Are you… related?” He asked. “I thought I remembered you having the same last name.”
“Yeah,” Lyra answered. “He’s my brother.”
Blue’s eyes flashed with some painful emotion, and Leaf winced in sympathy. “I’m so sorry,” she whispered, and sounded as if she meant it.
Red’s chest ached with pain, tightened by the look of sorrow on both of their faces. “Well, there’s nothing to be done about it, now.”
“Still,” Blue said, “I wish we lived in a world where things like this couldn’t happen.”
Red opened his mouth to reply, but was interrupted by the arrival of his stylist from behind. Burgh urgently grabbed onto his and Lyra’s shoulders, quickly escorting the two of them to their chariot with a painfully broad smile and a voice that sounded so cheerful it was painful to listen to. Red impulsively glanced back, just in time to see Leaf and Blue much more gently being herded towards theirs, as well.
He resisted the urge to turn back again once he climbed inside the chariot after Lyra, not wanting to show Blue how badly he wanted to respond to his last comment. So he stood stock still inside, facing the opening of the large, dark tunnel that would take them out into the plaza where the opening ceremony would take place and the ten other carts ahead of them. A hush fell over the area, carrying a chill with it. He shivered, realizing suddenly that his heart was pounding in his chest in anticipation and fear. It was Lyra’s warm fingers brushing against his that brought him back to the present moment.
“Red,” she said, “Will you hold my hand?”
Not trusting himself to reply, he nodded, clutching her fingers into his palm as they abruptly jerked into motion.
The Mudsdale trotted slowly until the 10 other districts in front of them gave way, and they found themselves at the mouth of the tunnel leading into a sunset that burned in the sky and the deafening roar of crowds that surrounded them on either side. After that, they picked up speed, and the crowd volume, and they were whisked ahead involuntarily to the bowl-like plaza, which at its center stood a softly smiling President Rose, dressed as usual in his sharp gray tux. He was nearly engulfed by the masses of screaming Capitol residents, all funky hair and gaudy clothing, flashing teeth and grotesque smiles.
These were the people they were trying to win over, Red tried to remind himself. The least he could do was try to look happy to see them. He forced his lips up into a smile that felt painful on his cheeks, and glanced over to Lyra to see that she was doing the same. At the same time, though, she tightened her grip on his fingers, making them tingle with the pain of oncoming numbness.
The already overwhelming volume of the cheers seemed to rise to a dramatically greater height as they continued into the plaza. Red didn’t understand it--until Lyra gasped, her eyes widening in something that looked like wonder.
“Oh my god. Look!” she half-screamed, jabbing a finger at the massive TV screen above the President’s head.
Red’s eyes landed on the screen. Just in time to see Blue and Leaf’s wings unfurl in a flash of brilliant color, hers red, white, and green and his a metallic gold rimmed with silver and deep orange. Sparkles flew away from them, glanced off the silky feathers, and then the ends of them burst into flame, traveling from the bottom to the top before flaring at the tips.
Their costumes hadn’t made much sense to him at first, but now the realization hit.
Ho-oh. The legendary Phoenix pokemon, the one that had risen from the ashes. It was an astoundingly clever design for the district known for its coal.
For a brief second, Blue’s eyes, which he now realized were a fiery, flickering hazel, met his through the screen, and although he knew he wasn’t actually looking directly at him, he felt a breath hitch in his chest and his heart grind to a stunned halt. His mind couldn’t form a single thought, not one intelligent notion. Because the only word he could think of when he looked at him was breathtaking. The flames that surrounded him bathed him in a sort of ethereal, godly, powerful beauty, one that sent a sense of danger running through him, although he wasn’t exactly sure why.
A slow, confident grin spread over Blue’s lips, and at once he took Leaf’s hand, and together they raised their clasped fingers to the sky as the crowd went wild.

before i get into Spoiler Corner TM detective pikachu was exactly what i wanted it to be. it was the movie i’ve enjoyed most that i’ve watched for the first time this calendar year, so go ahead and jot that down
the humor was fantastic
the animation was spot on. like, the way that they animated the pokemon in that semi-realistic but still looking looking right was perfect. i loved the different texture work. pikachu was the right level of fluffy, psyduck was the perfect amount of feathery, bulbasaur looked perfectly smooth, and charmander line all looked like a realistic shade of scaly.
i loved tim and harold as characters. tim’s character progression was realistic and i loved watching him slowly fall in love with pikachu. the way that he pushed away all his dreams after his mother’s death and his father drowning himself in his work seemed realistic, especially since the established canon in this universe is that pokemon connect to your emotions and to find a pokemon partner you have to open up to them emotionally, which tim was far from ready to do before the movie.
i did not see the twist coming that pikachu was actually tim’s dad, but it worked perfectly. it made sense with the canon of the universe, increased the depth of the relationship that tim and pikachu built, and helped us get more into mewtwo’s head in this story as well. it was great to see ryan as a human hugging tim, and i love love loved the way they were able to incorporate his speaking style and humor into a family rated feature. it was just great all around
i liked the reporter crush character too! she was cute, didn’t feel too flat, and she didn’t feel shoehorned in because she advanced the plot while also being cute and fun. plus her psyduck was a fantastic addition to the cast.
love love loved the creativity with the universe like the use of loudreds as djs, the visuals in the underground pokemon battles, the easy way that the universe established it is WEIRD that tim didn’t have a partner pokemon. it had great references to established canon, but my little brother who has minimal exposure to pokemon and has never seen the first pokemon movie still got it and loved it too. what a great movie for all levels of pokemon fans.
i just really enjoyed it. i want it on dvd at the first possible chance, please and thank you.
also, no offense, but justice smith could totally play an older miles morales in a live action movie. he would be perfect casting for that

Just a fantasy
So its rare for me to post anything personally. I just had to put this out there and hope some artist sees this and thinks its a good idea to draw. I keep seeing some fan comics posted around concerning Pokemon. One in particular is the girl with her Bulbasaur she found. She grows up, Bulbasaur evolves, they work at a flower shop, she gets married, etc. If you remember the comic, its absolutely adorable. The Bulbasaur and Squirte lines need more love than they are given, I know.
My favorite Pokemon is Charizard and I know he’s hyped up. I just had an idea for a comic, but I can’t draw. I didn’t consistently develop my style and lost touch with drawing years ago. I’m just thinking that someone might like the idea I have enough, that they might be willing to do it. So here goes:
A boy receives an Egg. It hatches into a shiny Charmander. He goes into the woods with his partner: Climbs a rock, walks over a fallen tree and fights a Heracross. Charmander evolves and the boy is in his early teens. They help out at the family bakery. Another boy comes into the store and main boy gets shy. Charmeleon bumps main boy into visitor. Both boys get embarrassed. Boy seems love struck for three panels with Charmeleon looking exasperated in each. Rainy day as boy hides under covers with a trashcan full of photos and crumpled up paper. Charmeleon sits next to the bed holding an unrumpled paper. Boy graduates from high school with Charizard behind him with family. Boy's smile doesn't reach his eyes and Charizard looks reserved. Family looks ecstatic. Young man works at bakery and turns it into a café. Another man sits outside and YM serves him. Man has a Typhosion. Charizard and Typhosion give each other a suspicious look, but come to a realization. Day in the woods shows them chatting, sun goes down and both men shown searching for their partners. When found, both men yell at Pokémon while Pokémon look sheepish. Both men bow at each other before leaving with partners. Both Pokémon turn and smirk. Couple different times with man visiting YM at café with Typhlosion. Ty and Charizard share a thumbs up. Festival time and man kisses Ym during fireworks. Both Pokémon fist bump. Wedding photo with the four behind the counter. Charizard and man wave goodbye with delivery in hand, while Ym and Typhlosion wave. YM by register and Typhlosion in the kitchen. All smiling wide.
So an explanation for the idea. As a gay man, I have hunger for LGBTQ content in all forms. I’ve seen comics or mini comics with the adorable girl and her Pokemon partner during different stages of life. I would love for one of a gay man with his partner. I’m sure I’m not the only one who has thought of this, but I’ve seen only a few NSFW comics where its all about the smut and not the growth. I crave fluff and wholesomeness. So yeah, someone take this idea and FLY!!! Also, if anyone has some recommendations for the content I was talking about, by all means, link me! I really hope this reaches someone! Good luck out there everyone, stay safe and frosty my lovelies!

Hey Prof, I need your advice.
My sister recently decided she didn't wanted her bulbasaur anymore (she got him on a whim about a month ago) and gave him to me, he is quite violent and tends to attack when I try to get close to him.
Now, that wouldn't be a huge problem, but my Purrloin has gotten hurt trying to befriend him, she's quite outgoing and never really liked fighting (we enjoy contests so she knows a few more flashy attacks), so she couldn't even defend herself properly.
I don't want to give up on him and my local rescue center is filled with Bunearies (you know, after Easter kids don't want their Bunny anymore) so they can't take him in right now, any advice in how I can go about this situation?
Sounds to me like you have a tricky little dude on your hands. So you're not battle orientated which will make this harder, Bulbasaur in the wild are actually quite combat minded to defend their families and territory, and a lot of their herds consist of strict hierarchy based on power and skill, often led by older, fully evolved members of their group.
Before you take any actions to befriend them, its worth noting that any pokemon who comes into your care showing aggression is usually doing so for one or two reasons that are pretty universal for any species. Fear being the main issue with pokemon who have been ditched, if a pokemon is unwell, if it feels exposed, if it is unsure of you or your home, your partners, it may lash out because it is afraid. Even what looks like pure anger can stem from a fear. Of course some individuals are just full of rage, its not unheard of, but for the most part it comes from somewhere else.
For a moment, take the time to put yourself in this pokemons shoes. It was chosen, with hopes and ambitions of its own, by your sister, a stranger to them, and for whatever reason they were cast aside. This reason may be unclear to the pokemon, it may be unfair, unkind, or even without malice just out of pure indifference. No matter the reason, this pokemon has been left behind by a trainer it at one point probably wanted to try to get along with. I don’t know what your sister may or may not have done, or provided for the bulbasaur, but it will help you understand how its feeling, if you were to ask her about their relationship prior to you receiving the pokemon. If it has always been aggressive and angry, i’d seriously consider talking to it about release, not rehome.
We humans have a preconceived notion that pokemon are pets and things to keep with us. This may be true for some sure, but not every pokemon wishes to be a captive to a human, they may want more for themselves, and wish for a free life with their own kind. We cannot put our wants and desires above that of the pokemons, so you two need to have a talk, at a respectful distance for safeties sake, to see what the Bulbasaur feels they may want. These are herd pokemon, born and bred to be with their own kind, if not a larger group, if its lonely, if it wants to go home, to start a family, or simply to not be held in a ball as some creature to be owned, then you as its current carer must give it what you can. You can always find another pokemon who wants to be your partner, but you cannot give back lost years to a pokemon who has lived a life its unhappy with. Treat them with respect, and be open and honest. At the end of the day we have a chance to help pokemon, and forcing what we want onto them is a hinderance, and will lead to them feeling unsatisfied and bitter in the long run.
Some pokemon lash out due to the process of being handed off to someone else, trust is earnt, not always just simply given to whoever holds the pokeball. Remember this as you move forward, and try to keep your other pokemon away from them, Bulbasaur are territorial species, and have to accept pokemon into their families before simply allowing them to come and go freely into their personal space. Despite their grouchy natures at times they usually do have a morally positive compass, and defend with ferocity when they love something. Perhaps in you showing genuine concern for their welfare and future, offering them not what you want, but instead what they want, they may give you a chance to get closer, but take baby steps, and try to be their friend above all else. I bet they're feeling pretty lonely right now.
Its worth sharing interests with the pokemon, talk about contests, see if they're interested, some pokemon have a predisposition for this, others have no interest and prefer more battle based lives, or even peaceful non-competitive existences. no amount of pressure will change a pokemon’s nature, and some just aren't cut out for the fine art of showmanship that contests require. You can however use powerful attacks in showy ways, so theres always hope that they could enjoy it, if you can work with them to their strengths.
If possible, work to getting them outdoors, cooping grass types up can lead to stroppy, testing personalities, many thrive in the outdoors, he may need some serious outside time to compensate for the lack of exercise and natural stimulation they may have not been getting prior to your ownership. There are plenty of areas in public that are much like tennis courts, areas of space you can book for a set amount of time too exercise difficult pokemon, these locations are often secure facilities, both outdoors and indoors, to suit a range of species. find one that has outdoor facilities and book a few hours per week to go there, increasing the time whenever possible. This exercise and time with you may help to find common ground, and topics that you and the bulbasaur can bond over. This can be anything from battles, to sun bathing, playing sports, games, swimming, running or digging, and everything in between. Bulbasaur naturally are great foragers and tend to like to snaffle about in long grass and shrubland, hiding treats like berry slices in a secure environment is good enrichment and can tire the pokemon out. a tired pokemon is usually a little less aggressive, having lower energy levels and less want to expend attacks. this process also associated you with something fun, and your scent will be on the treats too, so they'll know you were the one to provide this activity for them.
I’d also take plenty of time to observe the bulbasaur, as your sister got them on a whim, they probably had no prior knowledge of the species, or how to correctly care for them. In a month, a health complaint could have begun to show, so observe their colouration, feet, walking gait, sleeping patterns, feeding habits, and general behaviour. Excess scratching, heavy breathing, or unusual shaking or moving can suggest a health condition is starting to take form. Most can be helped if caught early, but some illnesses give the pokemon discomfort, and can lead to snappy tempers and irritability. It could be that this individual is in pain, or finding life difficult due to its health, which can cause a lot of hostility as i’m sure anyone would agree. It can suck to be sick!
This species can be won over if you can prove you have a skill of worth to them. This is the case with a lot of pokemon, having respect for something they cannot do, and learning that they need things from you can lead to them at least tolerating us humans. Its a foot in the door. A trick i like t use with particularly difficult bulbasaur is to give them their fav food, whatever it is, then put it in a clear container the pokemon cannot open. They have no thumbs, and their vines though dexterous, aren't able to open every kind of container. The pokemon will want whats inside, and be unable to access it. they will eventually give up out of frustration. this is where you come in. enter the space, don’t let your pokemon approach as this can be threatening, and open the container. leave it on the floor open, making sure they've watched you get the thing open. They can then approach and enjoy their fav food, all thanks to you and those wondrous thumbs you have. repeating this process yields good results, and starts a mutual relationship of tolerance and acceptance between you and a bulbasaur. Most will accept they want the food more than they want you gone, and you provide something they can’t get to. whatever you do, don’t let them see that you were the one to lock the food up in the container. Get a friend to do it, or do it in the room, and leave it in place on the floor, before allowing the bulbasaur to enter and investigate the item. If they see you're the one doing it, the trick is foiled, and your back to square one. Eventually this does tend to lead to the pokemon becoming less stressed with you around them, and eventually it leads to trust, and even friendship. This trick is good to use to get them use to you, once they're ok with you being around them because of your use to them, they may start to take food from you directly, engage in play, or even just sit and tolerate company for short periods of time. Do not expect this to be quick, but it does usually do the trick.
Regardless, i do have concern that the pokemon may want to be with its own, should you discuss this and find they're not interested in being housebound and a pet, feel free to send them our way, we had exactly this situation in mind when setting up the islands facilities, and have extensive locations designed with grass pokemosn needs at the forefront. Theres a small herd of about 12 bulbasaur evolutions that live north of our labs, no people see them, they are happy as a unit, and are left alone to go about their lives, with the only interactions between humans being us giving them their yearly health check, or should we spot them with an issue, we may intervene. They live away from others and pretty much free, in a poacher safe environment. Its not ideal, we like to keep pokemon in areas they come from, with people who love them, and you show great concern for the pokemon so it would be a shame to have to let them go, BUT sometimes thats just life, and theres nothing to be done about it other than accepting that the pokemons wants come first. They may just be mistrusting so try everything else first, and see how you go. hopefully you’ll yield some results from this all. Good luck out there trainer.

Can you tell some stories of your support Pokemon you keep in your lab?
Sure! We’ve acquired a good hefty pack of shuppet, all of which have been feeding off the negative feelings produced when nervous Pokémon come in for care. They double up as my own support team, one will usually be around me, this job comes with a lot of stress and I get anxious and quite down some days. They just help regulate that, not only for myself but for the Pokémon in our care. Recovery is a lot calmer when you can moderate how much negative emotion you feel. Post surgery or traumatic situations we will often pair up a shuppet to a guest Pokémon, they can be really good company, showing great compassion. Of course there’s a few that just like to be nosey and don’t come to help, but that’s fine, it’s not something we ask them to do, they just started to show up one day and we got the idea to feed them and see if any wanted to be part of the whole healing thing we do here haha. Turns out they do!
Uhh lab Pokémon, oh man, My idiot baby Porygon-z, Dutch. He’s usually my go to man on the inside....of the computer. I get frazzled with emails and finding stuff sometimes, so he helps keep things pretty streamline, makes lab work and recording data a hell of a lot easier too! With him around he can essentially do as a modern day Rotom can, jumping into devices. He records notes, files stuff and generally keeps me on time. I can get a little distracted, or bogged down by one task, with him around I can stick to a schedule way better.
I personally have an abra that has been around for three generations. We can’t quite tell his age for sure but it’s real old. We received him off a family who had passed this Pokémon from generation to generation and finally it was becoming apparent that it didn’t want to live that life anymore. We took it in and I originaly planned to let him go free once I found a good location for him. Turns out he liked the island, this was a while back now, so he’s seen it grow into a vibrant forest and hub of life. He’s happy here, at least I hope! They called him Rosco, and he still goes by that name. His age means he’s got some serious power despite not evolving, and we utilise his teleport abilities to nip about the island with great speed, he’s also a pretty fierce battle partner, though he doesn’t really get too involved unless it’s necessary. When I get super bad bouts of depression, we’ll sit together, usually with a few other Pokémon who want to join in, and he’ll regulate heartbeats, calm brain spikes, and trigger almost like a system reset in your brain, so you can pass through the harsh low points without too much trouble. He’s a very tentative little thing and will come to me if he sees it coming, and we can work through it. He will always be your friend if you give him food. He can and will be bought for the high price of one Dorito. With his telekinesis he also makes for a handy aid in lifting heavy Pokémon. An all round winner!
We have a constant coming and going of grass types, a lot of which produce soothing scents so that’s always super calming, but nothing quite beats going to the recovery greenhouse where my original starters reside now. A bulbasaur called Potato, not really a support Pokémon but does know when I’m down and brings me berries. He’s done this for years, he’ll just kind of sit with you quietly and wait. A good boy. The other is a Meganium, full name ‘Summer Skies’ but we all call her Sunny. she’s a real sweetheart, we met years ago, got her from a discount plant store, some employee overwatered her and she got real sick. I took her home and fixed her up, was my first real glimpse into the future thinking about it. Potato was always so healthy but helping Sunny get better kind of nailed into me. She’s the start of it all really haha. Anyway, she produces a scent specific to her, very fresh and sweet. It soothes nervous dispositions and helps level me out after a tough day, or before a stressful event. She’s not only a darling but family, and spends her days healing up plants and Pokémon alike beside me. Her and potato make sure everything’s ok while I’m away from that recovery unit.
there’s Valka and Bob, respectively a vulpix and a torkoal. They can give me a heat boost, sometimes I go freezing cold randomly and it can leave me feeling very nauseous. If I can warm up enough I can stop it getting worse. Both of these Pokémon also double up as garden and sample tissue disposal. Infected plant matter spreads diseases if not properly dealt with, and sometimes it’s best to burn some of it. They keep the place pretty tidy, and we make sure to do this all in a controlled environment to cause minimal damage to anything else.
there are of course endless Pokémon that we have in and around the lab, individuals with a sense of duty, who want to protect the island, some species hold dance classes for young Pokémon, or keep others entertained with jokes and games. We all do our part here, and try our best, and together running the island and it’s facilities aren’t so difficult. We encourage Pokémon to go out and live their life, and return many to the wild, but sometimes you end up with some that just dont want to go, and they end up part of our big idiot family. When your back aches a bit, someone usually is around to help pick up the thing you dropped. If you over did it digging the garden, be sure a ground type will come in and help turn the soil to grow food for everyone. It’s kind of just the way here, we all support each other, and want Pokémon who come to us to feel as calm about it all as possible.
