hard times ❀ s. reid x reader
in which spencer reid doesn’t follow through one time, and you really hate that he has a psychology degree.
pairing: spencer reid x fem!reader genre: hurt/comfort tags: daddy issues. shoutout to the girls with inconsistent fathers this ones for you. established relationship. readers mentioned wearing makeup, a dress and heels. rational bf!spencer reid fuck i would hate a profiler bf. word count: 1.8k a/n: not a trauma dump fic not a vent fic do not read into this fic at all don't even start to speculate on my life and where these emotions came from they're all fake made up not real make pretend. no photos no aesthetics just me, a tumblr account, and a dream for this baddie.
In all your months of dating Spencer Reid, he had never forgotten anything. Not a date, not a work event. Or, at least, he's never forgotten to call. Even when you had been so busy one week you could barely spare him more than a ten minute phone call a day, he remembered what was going on in your life enough to be there for you.
A false blanket of security draped over your relationship, is what it is now.
A blanket he seemingly had no trouble ripping off you a random Friday evening, throwing it in a fire and watching it — and your trust in him — burn into dust.
Perhaps a tad dramatic for what was happening, but you were always one for theatrics when it came to your emotions. Usually, he welcomed it. He was (abashedly) similar, after all.
Not that he was even here to welcome it.
You'd looked pretty. You'd felt pretty. Past tense, for your shoes were strewn somewhere across the floor after throwing them in frustration, and your makeup was ruined after unwelcome tears had streamed down your face an hour ago. You had been ready for a dinner date you and Spencer had scheduled in only three days ago — penciled in, for you never knew what his work schedule was going to end up being.
You're not sure how long you sat in that one spot on the couch, mind going through every single possible scenario that could've happened between the text he sent you that morning saying he was excited to go out tonight, and the lack of his appearance this evening.
The logical conclusion is that he got too busy, and he forgot. But Spencer Reid's whole thing is that he doesn't forget. Oftentimes he considers it a curse. You never really agreed with him. Until now, it seemed.
The less than logical, emotionally driven conclusion, is that he actively chose to stay at work to avoid coming home because he didn't want to see you. Or he didn't actually want to go to dinner, and he didn't know how to tell you. Or his team offered to go out and he'd rather hang out with them instead of you.
Really, the reasons are endless, and any rational conclusion was lost on you. Mind swallowing you whole as you continued to stare off into space, visibly shaking and head beginning to pound from the crying.
A glance at the clock told you it was near midnight by the time you heard the door handle rattle and twist open, tired, puffy eyes blinking to adjust to the light filtering in from the apartment hallway.
"Hey. Why're you out here? It's late. I thought you'd already be in bed," Spencer rambles absentmindedly, voice so disconnected from you it only made the ache in your chest worse. As he flicks the light on and assesses the state of the apartment, he asks, "What're your shoes doing on the floor?"
You blink a few times. Was he pretending to be dumb on purpose?
You stand on cramped legs, stretching them for the first time since you'd sat unknowingly on the couch nearly six hours ago, dress bunching around your waist. You didn't bother to fix it.
Like a switch, he clicks, his bag sliding off his shoulder and falling to the floor with a thud, realisation settling into his features.
"Our date. Oh, God, I'm so sorry, angel."
"Yeah. I'm sure," you croak, voice hoarse as you pick up your shoes pathetically in front of him, the heels clacking together as you walk towards your bedroom door.
He calls your name, and after you make no effort to return to him, you hear his feet against the wooden flooring, carrying himself to you.
You're in the ensuite, beginning to take makeup off you probably should've removed four hours ago. It was stupid hope you held on to, anyways.
"You're upset. I know. It was awful of me to forget our date," he stands in the doorway, staring at you through the mirror. Even indirectly, you can't make eye contact with him.
"You forgot," you repeat back to him, almost dumbfounded. "You forgot?"
"Forgot isn't... the best word," his fingers dig into his eyes for a split second, and you watch him think. "I got caught up at work. We had a case, then we didn't have a case, then we did, so we started looking into it, and time just... escaped. From all of us."
"Time just escaped."
Your parroting wasn't doing much to further the conversation, and you watch as Spencer averts his gaze to the floor to take a deep breath, before his eyes land back on you again.
"It isn't the best reason, I know. But it's the truth," he says.
"Uh-huh," you mumble, discarding your cotton pads stained with your makeup into the trash.
"Can you stop being evasive?" he catches your wrist before you can return to the sink. "Talk to me."
"What do you want me to say?" you ask, almost earnestly. "It's okay that you forgot, Spencer. I won't take it personally at all, and things between us are just dandy!"
"I want to know what you're actually feeling," he replies, voice flat with his irritation, before he forces himself to soften it. "I can't reassure you if all I know is that you're angry."
"Hurt. Forgotten. Disregarded. Disliked. Irritated we're doing this in our fucking bathroom."
At that, he leads you into the bedroom, turning the ensuite light off. "Forgotten and disregarded are synonyms, so I'm assuming that's what you feel the most."
"You're the psyche expert," you mumble, bitterly.
"I'm not trying to be your psyche expert," he quips, and your heart sinks. "Why're you feeling forgotten?"
You stare at him, dumbfounded, for a beat. "Because my boyfriend quite literally forgot about me?"
"I didn't forget about you—"
"—No, you're right. You just forgot about the date that you literally fucking texted me about this morning!" you snap, voice rising in a way that makes you cringe. Yet, you can't stop it. "You! Spencer Reid! Forgot!"
"Don't yell at me, please," he takes a step towards you; you take a step back.
"Why did you forget? Did you choose to? Are you pretending that you forgot about it all to save your ass?"
"No," he pinches the bridge of his nose. "I didn't. I told you what happened. You're choosing not to believe me."
"How am I meant to believe that? It's a shit excuse—"
"—It's the truth—"
"—God, you can lie, Spencer! Men lie!"
He goes silent, as do you. You become trapped in an uncomfortably intense staring contest with him, as you watch his brain slowly tick over and decipher what you were saying, and come up with a response. Yours, however, splits open with your own self hatred. Disdain for what you had just said to him.
"Okay," he exhales, very slowly. "I'm going to tell you what I think, and you can tell me how right I am."
"You're going to profile me?"
He pauses. "I'm sure it'll come off that way. I'm not trying to," when you don't protest again, he continues. "I think you're less upset about the fact that I didn't come home for a date, and more about the fact that I didn't message you about it. I've not shown up for dates before. I've always contacted you prior to let you know. And I've promised I would always contact you if something came up that interfered with our plans. Ultimately, I said I would do something, and I didn't follow through. That is on me, and I'm sorry. What isn't on me, is how you're reacting. Which is childish, honey. You're acting like a petulant child, and I don't mean that as an insult, because I'm almost certain I know why."
Your silence is his cue to continue, but he pauses to collect his thoughts. Your lower lip is beginning to wobble, and he feels awful.
"You know how our childhoods affect us," he says, and the second what he's about to say to you clicks in your brain, your teeth clamp over your lip, and your eyes drop to the ground. "Reactions from parents to things we do, things others do, things they do, all builds up in our subconscious. Having a parent who didn't show up for you time and time again, built up in your subconscious. So yes, you're reacting to me not following through with something childishly. I will not take that back. But that reaction is not your fault. It's in response to a trigger, and the person in control of that emotional response is not adult you. It's the little girl who got let down by her father. I won't ever hold that against you."
Your sniffle breaks the deafening silence that follows his tangent. You allow him to envelop you into a hug, at which you break down into a fit of sobs akin to the ones from earlier.
"I hate you," you stutter out in between sobs, voice muffled by his chest.
"You can't say that while hugging me," he counters. It was true, as your hands had wrapped around his waist just seconds ago.
"I hate you," you repeat, punctuating your words with a poke to his back.
"I love you," he replies, instead. His fingers thread through your hair as he cradles your head with his other hand. "I'm sorry I didn't contact you about being busy."
You swallow the lodged sob in your throat with a hiccup. "I'm sorry I acted like a petulant child. And I'm sorry that my dad sucks."
"I'm sorry your dad sucks too," you feel him kiss the top of your head. "Have you eaten?"
"Mm-mm," you shake your head, and he pulls back, hands slipping down to your cheeks, catching the tears.
"Do you want to eat?"
"The restaurant we were going to is closed," you mumble.
"Maybe. But the Thai place isn't."
"I'm pretty sure it is," you counter, and his eyebrows furrow. "It's past midnight now."
His face falls, he waits a beat, before his hand drops to your own, and he's tugging you towards the door of the bedroom. "Okay. Fine. Well, the Spencer Reid Kitchen is never closed."
"I asked for pasta last night and you said the kitchen was closed."
"You asked at three in the morning," he deadpans, as you make yourself comfortable on one of the stools.
"The Spencer Reid Kitchen is never closed," you mock his voice from earlier.
"The Spencer Reid Kitchen rules are made by Spencer Reid."
"The rules should be lenient of Spencer Reid's girlfriend."
"Do you want pasta or not?"
"Yes," you quickly say with a firm nod. "Sorry."
He spends the first hour of that Saturday making you pasta; and making up the missed date.

Little doe.
Cregan Stark x betrothed Velaryon!reader
Summary: the reader is everything Cregan isn't- soft, kind, and delicate. He's determined to be gentle.
Warnings: age gap, soft dominance, talk of blood and consummating a marriage, bedding ceremony
A/n: This one is fluff and stuff. Perhaps a part two with a little smut is needed 🤭
Masterlist
......................................................
Cregan was only a tad worried.
The journey back to Winterfell was almost silent, and he was beginning to grow concerned for the quiet woman seated on her horse next to him.
The Velaryon Princess.
After winning the war, young Aegon III honored his mother’s promise to the Stark: help win the war, and he could have the hand of the Princess.
Rhaenyra’s only daughter.
When Daemon had found out about his wife’s bargaining while he was away in Harrenhall, he was furious. The child was not his and still he felt a responsibility for her. And handing off the only daughter to a dynasty like this one felt wrong.
But that was then. And this is now.
Cregan’s horse brushed against hers. “Nervous?”
Her head turned, her eyes moving over his face as if taking in every inch of him.
He now realized just how much she looked like her brothers.
She was the second eldest child, between Jace and Luke, and yet she was nothing like the two. Her parents (all four of them) had kept her from even the hint of conflict and battle, and it showed. She was more graceful and delicate, soft-spoken and kind, not an experienced warrior who could lead against the greens with an iron fist.
That’s what worried the Stark.
He was quite a bit her elder, her now 18 and him being 24. A lot of change happens in a mere six years- for Cregan, he had fought and won a whole war in less time than that of their age gap. And because of his well fought war, he was more harsh.
He feared he couldn’t be the gentle husband she needed.
She hummed, as if that was answer enough for him. The soft clomping of their horses was the only sound between them.
He sighed. “I believe I asked you a question. It’s rude to ignore someone, Princess.”
Her eyes widened. She hadn’t meant offense by her actions. In fact, she was rather mortified that he had taken offense to it in the first place. “Perhaps a bit nervous,” she admitted softly.
Her voice was soft and calm. It was everything Cregan was not used to.
He hummed back, not even aware that he was doing the very thing he criticized her for. “Winterfell is only a day’s right out. There’s not a reason for nerves.”
“I’ve not… I’ve not been away from Dragonstone or King’s Landing before,” she mumbled.
Cregan was surprised by that. But being the sheltered princess, he assumed there was much she didn’t know about. “You are in for an adventure then, little dragon.”
…
Outside of the castle doors, Cregan dismounted his horse and stepped to the princess. Without question or concern, he grabbed her by her hips and lifted her from her horse. Her body slid down his as he lowered her, their faces too close for comfort for either of them. As if in slow motion, her lips parted but no sound came out. She didn't know what to say.
Cregan's large hand brushed hair away from her face and his eyes set on her like a starved wolf- observant, and yet, ready to strike anything at a moment's notice.
His head dipped down, his nose brushing her temple as he took in the proximity of the two. "We'll marry soon," he remarked quietly.
Another hum came from her but he let it slide. It sounded more like the squeak of a frightened mouse and he would be an arse for ridiculing her for it. In fact, it amused him. His lips tugged up into a grin as his hands tightened on her waist. "You're not a big, strong dragon," he mused. He bent down a little more to whisper in her ear. "You're just a frightened deer."
Her big doe eyes stared up into his in anticipation and worry for his next move. She may have been innocent, but she was not dumb. She knew what powerful men did to women when they so choose.
His lips quirked up. "Can I kiss you, little doe?" He asked as his lips brushed her cheek.
She tilted her head down in embarrassment but Cregan caught her chin.
"So soft," he mused kindly. "I can be patient."
He released her and her lungs finally filled with air. She rested a hand against the horse in an attempt to collect herself. He offered his arm politely, though his eyes said that it was expected of her to take it.
Together, they walked into Cregan's home.
…
"Knew I'd find you eventually," his deep voice interrupted the silence.
She gasped. Her hand dropped from the shelf she was admiring the contents of. "Lord Stark. Forgive me."
He shrugged. "Don't know why I would need to. Just a curious doe, hm?"
She shook her head insistently. "I only meant-"
"-Please," he smiled as he took slow steps to her. "My home is yours now. Don't apologize for being in your home."
She smiled lightly. "Thank you."
He reached out and took the carefully bound book in her hand. "Stark history," he noted. He flipped it back and forth. "Are you truly interested?"
She nodded.
He smiled- a genuine one. "I'm glad." He held it out for her to take again. But when her hand reached out, he pulled it back teasingly. When her face fell and her hand hesitated, he finally handed it to her. "If you want more, I can manage a few of the-"
"-Please," she insisted.
His eyes traced her face and he nodded. "Course. Consider it done." He closed the distance and dipped his head down, kissing her head without much thought.
As he walked off, her hand came up to the spot he had just kissed.
…
During the entire wedding feast, she was lightheaded. The ceremony had her numb. But what really sold it all was Cregan's heavy kiss on her lips at the end of it. He had cupped her cheeks and gave her a weighted kiss. Like he was hungry. Like he'd consume her.
She tried to eat even a little of what was in front of her, but she couldn't. The back of Cregan's hand brushed her hair over her shoulder. "Eat."
She looked over to him with a questioning look. "I am."
He smiled, completely amused. His hand found a comfortable place to the back of her neck. "Staring at everyone else does nothing."
"I have not-"
His voice rumbled as he muttered her name. "I placed more on your plate minutes ago and you've yet to even notice."
"W-" True to his word, there was additional food on her plate. Her eyes bore into his. "Forgive me. I d-"
His thumb rubbed into the skin at the back of her neck. "-'s alright. But eat."
She hummed then paused and forced herself to give him a verbal answer. "I will."
He smiled, beginning to massage the nape of her neck. For someone so harsh, his hands were gentle.
…
She let out a shriek when the men finally set her down in the chamber. Cregan was already in there, ushered by the women. They had managed to get him down to his tunic and trousers. His head snapped to her when he heard the noise.
He lightly shoved away the hands of the woman untying the strings of his tunic. He stepped through the small crowd of men with light shoves until he was next to Y/n.
She had been stripped of all but her shift, her hair tousled from its neat updo earlier. There was a slight fear to her eyes that worried Cregan.
He pushed off the men enough to give the two room. He circled her and pulled her to him. With his chest against her back, his head lowered to kiss her neck. The men hollared and cheered, all excited that the Stark had begun the bedding ceremony.
His kisses trailed up her neck until his lips brushed her ear. "Are you scared?" He asked so lowly that only those two could hear. "I'll call it off."
She felt frozen, her eyes stuck on the ground.
He nipped at her ear, his hand slowly brushing down her forearm until he joined their hands together. "Squeeze my hand and I'll do it."
She had to force herself to wiggle each finger until she was able to finally squeeze his hand.
"Go," he muttered immediately against her neck to the others. There was a hesitation in the room. Like perhaps they hadn't heard him right.
Cregan's head raised slowly, taking in the room. His gaze was truly wolfish.
The room emptied after that.
When the door closed, Cregan's hands dropped from her body. He moved away, going to the small table against the wall and pouring himself a drink. He looked back with a questioning look if she wanted one, to which she denied.
Downing the cup, he filled it again and took it with him to move back to her. She had yet to move.
He stepped in front of her. "Are you afraid?"
Y/n lifted her chin to finally look at him. There was a glazed look in her eyes, though there were no tears. She took a breath to brave saying what she wanted. "Does it matter?"
His head lulled to the side with a sigh and a smile. He looked down at the content of the cup and swirled it before offering it.
Her fingers wrapped around it and she soon downed the contents.
"I will never force myself on you," he promised. He ran a hand through his hair. "Us North, we can be… brude-ish. I forget you were made with gentle hands." He takes the cup back. "Need more?"
She shook her head. And when he moved away, she walked to the bed and sat down.
Cregan soon joined her. He sat next to her and the two stared at the wall. He twiddled his thumbs awkwardly until he figured out what he wanted to say. "You're the most delicate woman I've ever known. I'm not sure what to do with you. I want to hold you but… my hands have never cradled anything. You understand?"
She nodded, picking at a string on her shift.
His hand covered hers. His head dipped down. "Give me a better answer than that."
She looked to him. "I do understand."
He accepted that. "Thank you." He gently pinched her chin between his fingers. Cregan's eyes darkened at the proximity of the two. His eyes raked over her face carefully, taking in every part of her. "Most beautiful doe I've ever laid eyes on."
…
"C'mere," Cregan motioned.
Y/n moved to him.
The two had grown more familiar with one another. The consummation of their marriage remained undone, though neither cared. Cregan, the night of the wedding, had ruffled his wife's hair and slashed his hand to spread blood across the sheets. The North was none the wiser.
It was especially believable with how close the two had grown- though that was entirely unplanned.
When she neared the desk, he stood and offered his chair. He leaned over it to talk over her shoulder. "Look here."
On Cregan's large wooden desk lay a large fabric with stitching in a webbing pattern, names scattered everywhere across it.
It was a Stark family tree.
His hand reached over her and brushed the fabric. "Here I am. And my brother- before he died. Father there, and mother." His hand came back to his spot, brushing idly. "I'll have your name sewn in soon."
She leaned back in the chair. "I thought that was reserved until a woman has given you children?"
He shrugged without a care. "You are my wife."
She wanted to argue further but his fingers had wandered to her hair, twirling around the soft locks slowly. He looked rather entranced as he admired the woman. She cleared her throat. "According to the law, this marriage is not legally binding yet."
"Yet. Not yet." He leaned over the backrest. "But if I recall right, I banished the law from our bed. The priests and lawmakers. Because you asked me to."
She shivered, leaning forward to escape the overwhelming feeling of him consuming her every thought.
Cregan twirled one last curl in his hand before letting it fall. He stepped around the desk to face her. "I'll have you stitched into the fabric within the fortnight. I don't need a child to prove that you're mine." He stretched. "I'm off to petitions. Tell me you'll miss me."
Her lips pulled up into a happy smile. "I cannot lie and say that I won't."
He accepted that. "It's almost beginning to sound like you love me."
She flushed.
Rheanyra had never loved Laenor. Not… not like that. Alicent had never loved Viserys. Helaena and Aegon… Never was a political marriage as filled with admiration as this. It frightened her.
She had heard tales of men bedding mistresses, and wives with other men than their husband. It was normal in a sense to do so. But now, in front of Cregan, she couldn't imagine her soul surviving if Cregan loved another. And to cheat on him would be to cheat on everything she loves. Everything she l-
She loved him.
It hit her harshly.
Her silence had confused Cregan. "Didn't mean much by it, Doe. Only jesting."
If only he knew her heart already belonged to him and him alone.

And the thing is, I don't even care if you demonstrate you understand the material. Like, it doesn't make my life better if you can write an essay on x, y, or z. I want you to learn because I want you to learn. Writing an essay is often part of the learning, because part of learning can be communicating, but really, truly, learning is the point. And not learning how to prompt a robot to do the thinking for you, and not even learning so you know how to do whatever career capitalism decides you have to do, just learning because what have we been doing in our species's long quest that has ruined so very much if we also give up ever using these brains we've evolved?
We do things backward in so many ways, but one of the ways is cabining "school" into this limited portion of the very beginning of your life and so many people I talk to are just trying to get it over with so "real life" can begin, as if learning things is a huge waste of time we make everyone go through before the real stuff happens. I wish learning was not seen as a means to an end but as the end itself. I wish we took all these robots we made and used them to free all of us up to just sit around and learn about stuff. I think it would be so cool if we thought of ourselves as beings who learn rather than just...Idk, beings who buy stuff? Idk how we think of ourselves now lol. Anyway. Idk. Learn things. It's cool, in and of itself.
(This, btw, isn't about education itself. Schools have issues, I'm not trying to solve them or address them here. I'm just saying learning is cool. And also, I think learning many things you wouldn't ordinarily do just for yourself is cool. Like, being forced to read and think about things you wouldn't do yourself is a good thing sometimes. Being forced to get outside of your comfort zone of subject areas is a good thing. If we weren't always so stressed about our grading ourselves, I sometimes feel like this would be more evident to us and we'd do it more often, instead of being conditioned to avoid things we can't get an A+ in. I include myself in this.)

The Prophecy (SMAU ft. Lando Norris)
pairing: lando norris x singer!reader (y/n)
summary: what happens after the break-up that noone saw coming? as Y/N L/N gears up to release her next album, each song reveals a little bit of the past, present and future of her relationship with Lando Norris. Inspired by a curated playlist built around "The Prophecy". note: this is RPF and is obviously in no way, shape, or form reflective of real persons. Also, this story is angsty with a happy ending - it does not contain any smut or suggestive themes. [A/N: This is my first SMAU and hooooooly shit did I totally underestimate how much work it is, and how things work within Tumblr to make it look alright. If you have any tips, let me know lol. I had to split it up in pieces, but i've got all the content written out already, so will be updated soon with the next part!]

[Excerpt from red carpet interview at the Grammy's with Y/N]
How are you feeling tonight? You're up for 3 awards, one of them Album of the Year for All I Ever Needed - that's huge!
"It's so overwhelming, to be honest."
Even when you've gone through this experience before? This is your fourth time attending, second time as nominee.
"Yeah, maybe even more so! It's a great chance to hang out with friends and meet new people, but it's also really prestigious still. Being nominated - I try to act like it doesn't matter, because awards always involve politics too - but at the end of the day, you do want it."
And who're you most looking forward to seeing tonight?
"Honestly? I came alone tonight, so I can't wait to find Sabrina [Carpenter] and Jade. I'm gonna need my girls."
Your friend Miley is also up for an award tonight in the same category, what's that like?
"Ha, if the Grammy's do the right thing tonight she'll win it - I know I voted for her!"
You'll also be performing one of your songs - Ruin My Life, can you tell us a bit about what to expect?
"I really wanted this to be visually interesting, but it took me a while to get the right concept for it. I think it's because to me this album and song already feel sort of far removed, and lived in? I'm in a different phase of my life right now, so I had to find a new way to still connet to it. I was really grateful to work with a great art director to bring a different version to the stage."

[SkyNews excerpt]
Lando Norris wins Silverstone GP, dedicates his 20th podium win to his family
The man of the hour is none other than Lando Norris, who’s just gone on to claim his 20th victory at his home race. You’re reading that right, his home race! While he still owns his apartment in Monaco, Norris revealed today that he’s been living back in England for the past few months. “I just wasn’t in the right headspace anymore and wanted to live closer to my family. Especially now that my brother’s kids are growing up, I just like knowing I could drive over – rather than having to fly across countries.”
Speaking on the importance of his family being present, Norris shared that it means everything to him. “In this sport you need to have skill, talent, trust and investment from your team, but also you need that stable sense of safety from the people you love. If your mindset isn’t there, you can’t be competitive.”
Norris has been vocal about mental health in the past, and has advocated for more access to mental healthcare facilities and professionals across motorsport.
“Especially in tougher years where there’s just a lot of noise and turmoil, it’s nice to have a professional coach you to mental fitness as well.”
It was the only notable reference to Norris’ private life, which ended on a low note last year after splitting from long-time girlfriend y/n l/n. The two were originally thought to have had an amicable split, but recent reports hint at a different story, with Norris unfollowing his ex and her friends unfollowing him in return.

Se-mi / Player 380 Headcanons
Pairing: Se-mi / Player 380 x fem!reader
Warnings: Mentions of death/dying, blood (typical squid game stuff), other than that it's just fluff
જ⁀➴ With your luck, you weren't only stuck in a literal death game with 455 other players, you were also immediately taunted by arguably the most annoying two. For some reason, neither Thanos nor Nam-gyu could leave you alone. The former was grinning from ear to ear, making suggestive comments and the latter just leaned against the metal railing, nodding along. No matter how often you told them to leavd you alone or go away, they didn't. Until someone else approached, at least:
"Alright, fun's over, leave her alone." It was a girl, Player 380, who told them to break it up and leavd you alone. She practically shooed them away, tugging on Thanos' sleeve and just said "Yeah, yeah whatever." to their protests.
જ⁀➴ From then on, Se-mi just kind of took you in, and you accepted that gratefully. Her unbotherd nature and the way she wasn't even scared in the slightest, at least she didn't appear so, made you admire her. And, when you appeared to be scared or shaken up, she nudged your shoulder with hers, giving you a 'Everything-will-be-fine' kind of look.
જ⁀➴ Often times you found yourself talking with her back in the dorm area, but she just kind of listened. Se-mi appeared to be more secluded, but she made sure to take her time with listening about your thoughts or plans or whatever that was on your mind and you needed to get out. Her presence was calming and the things she said seemed very genuine.
જ⁀➴ She'd speak up for you in any moment that you couldn't yourself, giving you the voice you needed. Somehow, through your few interactions, she pretty much figured out what kind of person you were. Most of your view points matched up exactly, which made both of you smile everytime you noticed it.
જ⁀➴ Late at night, Se-mi would sneak over to your bed, claiming she wasn't tired at all and would much rather talk to you than sit alone with her thoughts. She'd tell you about her past and why she agreed to join the game, and you listened intently. After all, it was the first and only time she opened up to you in there. She said that it was something about you that made her feel safe, so you'd have a right to know about her and her motivations.
જ⁀➴ During the mingle, after listening to the game's rules, Se-mi grabbed your hand without an explanation and didn't let go until it ended. She just needed to make sure you made it out alive and she'd drag you from point A to point B if that's what needed to happen.
"Stay close to me," you could sense her distress in the way she gripped your hand, hers feeling cold against your skin, "don't you dare let go of me, yeah?" You looked up at Se-mi, urgency very noticeable in her eyes. "Don't worry, we'll make it out of here."
જ⁀➴ When stepping out of one of the rooms after the last round, Se-mi looked at the blood smeared across the white floor, her eyebrows knitted together. Admittedly, this was the most emotion you saw of her in the few days you got to know her. You sensed that she was probably starting to get a bit worried now, obviously, who wouldn't?
Your thumb swept over the back of her hand in a soothing way, making her head snap up to face you. Immediately, Se-mi's expression softened, which made you smile in return.
જ⁀➴ Would absolutely insult anyone who came up to you (Thanos.. Nam-gyu..) to get on your nerves again, or perhaps try to persuade you into voting to continue next time. She'd insist on sleeping on the bed next to you, just so she could be there and have a word with those guys. It made you laugh when she said that, and upon hearing that, Se-mi couldn't help but chuckle herself. You did take her very seriously regardless, tho.
જ⁀➴ While you two were eating, you discussed what you wanted to do with the prize money, besides paying off your debts. It was moreso her trying to figure out more about your private life: where you live, what your job is, if you have a partner.. Then, she'd just nonchalantly offer you some of her food that she couldn't or didn't want to finish (or maybe purposefully left it for you because you mentioned liking it. Just maybe, though).
જ⁀➴ As more groups started to form and the nights being far more dangerous now than before the second game, Se-mi suggested giving into Thanos' attempt to recruit you both for his team.
"It's better to hang around those assholes than to get stabbed, believe me." She said, rubbing her eyes. She knew you wouldn't be so keen on hanging around some junkies and Min-su, who seemed to dread being in a team with them, too. "Come on. It's for our survival. After this bullshit we don't have to see them ever again." Se-mi nudged your shoulder, giving you a grin. "Yeah, alright," you sighed, "just for you, though."
જ⁀➴ Se-mi would absolutely hate it if anyone else was depending on her. Not you though. She almost finds pride in the fact that you seem to think of her so highly, thinking she can protect you. She knows she can't fully do that, but she will definitely try to. Because, after a while, she had to admit to herself that her liking of you had gone further than just liking you as a friend.
જ⁀➴ She liked that thought. Being able to survive with you by her side, collecting that prize money and paying off your debts and then taking the rest to buy a house and maybe adopt a cat or two seemed like a pretty great plan. The thought of you being her girl made her happier than any money in the world.

(Arcane Meta) Zaun Died with Silco
I want to open this by saying I understand people who are upset that there isn't more Piltover/Zaun conflict and resolution in S2 of Arcane. However, I'm going to argue here that the reason it's not in S2 after 2.03 is because the conflict is over. Piltover won. There is no more Zaun anymore as a potential political player and, ultimately, this comes back to haunt Piltover in their hour of need.
Overall, while I am invested in the Piltover/Zaun conflict, especially in S1, I'm less focused on Caitlyn and Vi's story which is our main lens for the conflict, or rather the end of the conflict, in S2. Still, I hope to offer my more Arcane worldbuilding-focused perspective. And just to get it out of the way, here are a few things I had trouble with:
I too was puzzled that anyone from the Undercity would join Piltover in the defense of the city.
I also thought it was strange to have Jayce focus on the threat that Viktor posed with his robots while soliciting help from the undercity, instead of on Ambessa, the more clear and understandable threat that would have made a better rallying point and allowed for a final discussion about the Noxian occupation of the undercity and how Noxus turning on Piltover was just them reaping what they sowed.
I was certainly taken aback when everyone was given Enforcer uniforms for the final fight.
That said, I believe there are answers to all three of these. From there, I want to dive into what exactly happened in S2 with Piltover vs. Zaun, to my eyes. Short version: there is no more "Zaun" as a potential nation or political player by 2.03 when the Chem Barons are taken out by Cait's forces, but it really died before that with Silco, who was already in a precarious negotiating situation himself and he knew it.
Very few people from the Undercity joined Piltover's defense of the city. Maybe a half dozen. I felt that was our moment of "you reap what you sow" for Piltover. A few passionate idealists who could see the bigger picture that saving Piltover does mean saving the undercity joined, but there were no hordes of volunteers. Piltover had lost the right to them and was substantially weakened for it.
Jayce choosing to focus on Viktor as the threat makes sense for him, but it was a poor political move and probably lost him volunteers he would have otherwise gained. The robot army threat is too esoteric and fantastical. "The Noxians turned on us and plan to conquer the city," is a threat that would have been better for rallying the troops, Jayce is just too single-minded to think of it. He's a bad politician.
The Enforcer uniforms are an odd sour note, but they do make sense as protective gear. Piltover doesn't have an army. There are no uniforms to give people. All they have is Enforcer uniforms. It is an odd note symbolically, but practically speaking it shows how little time Piltover had to prepare. Piltover is a civilian city going up against a military force like Noxus. They are woefully underprepared and really only have their status as defender in urban fighting to give them a prayer of even stalling the Noxian forces. Ironically, Piltover's only hope against Noxus mirrors Zaun's only hope against Piltover if they had gone to war: the difficult nature of urban fighting against an entrenched, motivated opponent on their home turf.
Now, to get into, "What happened to the overall Piltover vs. Zaun fight?" I get why people think it's lacking in S2, and I get why people find it horrifying that there is no independent Zaun at the end, all we've got is Sevika with one seat on the Council, as far as we can tell but I would point out:
Zaun is dead at this point. It's been dead since 2.03. Arguably, it really died with Silco.
As Jinx said, she didn't just destroy her own family, she cursed an entire society when she launched that rocket into the Council Chamber.
Here's the thing, Jayce was actually right when he said Zaun wouldn't stand a chance in an outright war with Piltover.
Yes, Zaun has a lot of brawlers. They have Shimmer and the Shimmer berserkers.
But Zaun doesn't have any sort of organized fighting force beyond the guards of individual Chem Barons and their factories.
What Zaun has is the fissures. It has ugly, difficult urban fighting in dangerous spaces. But as a counter to that, we have the fact that their ventilation is controlled from Piltover. In a true all-out war, Piltover could in theory just flush out the entire undercity using the Gray. Having your infrastructure entirely dependent on an enemy oppressor is what I would call a "fatal flaw" in any defensive military strategy, particularly when what they can cut off is the air you breathe. That's easily game over right there unless Silco has a way to circumvent that.
In a guerilla war, Zaun could probably hold out for a long, grinding, ugly civil war made up of mostly guerrilla attacks, in which a great number of innocent civilians will die, even in an all-out conflict with Piltover. But it would suffer catastrophic losses and probably still lose in the end.
Now, Jayce is I think somewhat naive in his claim Zaun doesn't stand a chance. Maybe Zaun wouldn't stand a chance in the long run, but they'd make Piltover pay for every inch with blood. They'd grind Piltover down into a shadow of its former self, force them to sacrifice all of their principles. To some extent, I think Jayce gets that, he gets that he doesn't want more kids to die, but I think even he underestimates just how ugly that war would be and how long it would go and how unrecognizable his Piltover would be by then.
The moment that gives Silco pause in Jayce's assessment of how easily Zaun would be crushed isn't the fighting. Silco is pretty confident that they could make Piltover pay and he's arguably looking forward to the chance on some level.
What gives him pause is when Jayce says the Council doesn't care.
To some extent, Silco like any revolutionary against an oppressive "civilized" society (heavy, heavy emphasis on the air quotes there) is that a certain point, Piltover is so soft-hearted they will get tired of the bloodshed.
What Jayce just told Silco is that the Council is more barbaric than even Silco maybe appreciated, for all their vaunted principles. There isn't necessarily a limit to how many Zaunite children will die before Piltover decides to cease hostilities. Knowing what Silco knows of Piltover's brutality, I think that is a sobering moment for Silco. That's when he decides this really is the best time to negotiate.
(Aside, this is by the way where Vi is wrong about Silco, driven by her emotions. Silco is willing to set aside the feud to get his nation of Zaun, he can be negotiated with. He's just not willing to give up his daughter (something Vi can't possibly understand at this point).)
Here's why it's the best time for Silco to negotiate and it ties into everything else:
Without Shimmer, which has been severely hampered by the raid on the factory, Zaun doesn't have anything to counter Hextech.
Jinx's wild attacks against Piltover has helped put the pressure on them that Silco capitalizes on. But it is a paper-thin threat. She is a lone albeit devastating terrorist. She makes Zaun appear more dangerous than it is but that can't last forever. Silco has leveraged her attacks into a pressure campaign against Piltover, but a serious response from Piltover (as seen in 2.03 with the strike team corners and very nearly captures her) could reveal just how fragile that threat is.
Basically, Zaun has some champions, arguably a league of legends lol, but it doesn't have an army. It doesn't even have Enforcers of its own. It doesn't have a concerted force of any kind.
The money is running out. As "Sucker" shows us in 2.02, each Chem Baron that gets taken out means less money on the table, and we're down 2 by the beginning of S2 with Silco and Finn, who arguably both fell to internal fighting.
As the Chem Barons say in 2.02, even if they got total unity in Zaun, they're outnumbered.
However, they don't have total unity in Zaun. They can't even get the Chem Barons to agree on what to do on one topic, with Jinx.
Silco basically has to accept the deal with Jayce when he does, while Zaun appears to be at its strongest. Because if he had waited any longer, the fact that they don't have the strength or money to back it up would have become apparent.
Furthermore, once Jayce resigns from the Council, which he was planning to do anyway regardless of Jinx's attack, would mean Zaun would lose its one champion with the political capital to give them independence. The window for Zaun independence is actually extremely narrow.
With Silco's death and Jinx's attack on the Council, then the subsequent eradication of the other Chem Barons, their resources, their money, including Shimmer which was the only thing Zaun really had to match them against Hextech in that arms race, there really isn't a Zaun anymore.
There's no one to negotiate with. No one to hand power to. No force that can govern itself. Zaun is completely fractured with the eradication of the Chem Barons. By taking them out, Cait removed the need for Piltover to negotiate with Zaun. And the reason Piltover chose not to was because of Jinx's rocket and then the attack on the memorial, which was orchestrated by Ambessa.
This is all according to Ambessa's design, by the way. She divides Piltover/Zaun against themselves by capitalizing on Jinx's attack. She leaves both severely weakened to make it easier for her to take over, and Piltover walks right into the trap. They would have fallen to Noxus if not for Mel's love of the city, even if you remove Viktor and Jayce's plotline entirely.
TL;DR Zaun is gone, guys. It's a distant dream. Sevika is the only person with an interest in making it happen anymore and she can't even get the Jinxers to listen to her. All the factions are easily arrested at the rally. Piltover has no reason to negotiate with any of these people. As the lone torchbearer for that cause, it makes sense for Sevika to be on the Council but beyond her, there is literally no one else to give a voice to (since Ekko doesn't appear to have an interest).
At least, until the Noxians turn on them, and then there's an interest in Piltover and the undercity joining forces, but as I referenced at the beginning of this, Piltover has now lost the right to the undercity's help AND lacks the undercity's resources too. Now Noxus has Shimmer instead of Piltover or Zaun, in addition to their sophisticated and expertly trained military force. As Jayce said, they were meant to lose this fight. Arguably, they never had a chance of winning if not for Mel claiming the loyalty of the Noxians in the wake of her mother's death and everything Jayce did to stop Viktor and the Hexcore.

One Day in the Life of Ivan Denisovich and The Things They Carried rewired parts of my brain. The Odyssey was a real treat. (Especially when some of my classmates who found the language rather opaque started gathering around me at morning homeroom to hear my retellings of last night's reading assignment.)
But I know some of you probably have or had a miserable time in English class, and that may have been partly because your school didn't properly prepare you for reading the books ahead of time, so you were just totally at sea all the way through.
If that's the case, here are some tips for getting more enjoyment out of a book you're struggling with!
Look up summaries of individual chapters (CliffsNotes usually has these). Then go back and read them. Having an idea of what's happening might help you follow along with language or writing styles that you're struggling with.
Let yourself skim over particular passages you're baffled by and latch onto the ones that make sense. Finding points that you can follow might help you make sense of the trickier ones by providing context.
If you don't understand a character's motivations, especially in older books and books that take place in a foreign country, it might be because you're missing context. That's okay, and your teacher isn't expecting you to have encyclopedic knowledge of the historical and cultural context for a book.
But also, even in the most unfamiliar circumstances, you can look for things that make sense to you. The characters are still people, and regardless of context, people are still people.
But also, sometimes you just can't relate to the character. That's ok. "Well I would never ____" Yes, but this person did. And here's why. In the world they live in, it made sense or it was the only thing they could do. And there are people in real life who do that. Now you've seen a little bit of why.
You don't have to like all the characters. Some characters (even the protagonists) you're supposed to hate. Sometimes that's because the author is saying, "This bastard is fucked up, but do you see how he got that way?" Sometimes it's, "This bitch made every wrong choice possible, but damn if it didn't make some wild drama."
Remember that sometimes the author may not explain exactly why something happens because it's supposed to be a bit of a mystery at first! Keep reading and see if it gets explained later!
Look up words in the dictionary!!
If you're having trouble keeping a lot of characters in your head, make a cast list. "John is Mary's brother and he's a bit of a dick."
It's okay if there are books you simply do not vibe with. Give them a fair shake, but really, even the kids who love English class are gonna have books they hate. I despised a few of the books I read for school. But remember that struggling with a book and not liking it aren't the same thing!
And for the love of everything holy. Ask. Your. Teacher. Questions. Write them down while you're reading and ask! If you're scared to ask in class, talk to them at another time! But I can guarantee that if you didn't understand something, some of your classmates didn't either. If your teacher is remotely competent, they'll be delighted to answer your questions.
And there are no questions too simple to ask in class!! "Why did this character do this thing?" "What's up with this sentence?" "I tried reading this, and here's what I think the events of this chapter were. Is that really what happened?" "What the heck is a ____?" "Why was this bit in here? It doesn't seem like it's important to the plot." "How do we know that ____ theme is in here?"
Yes, there are themes and symbols and motifs and whatever else in books. Your teacher isn't just making it up. People tell stories for a reason. The author is trying to communicate something to you. "Well why didn't they just say that?" Because saying it in a story shows you something about it. I can tell you, "Love isn't always enough to save you." or I can show you that by telling you a story about two people who fall in love and then get their shit wrecked. I can tell you, "This war happened and it was awful," or I can show you the people who were in it and what it did to them. I can tell you, "The government is a corrupt pile of festering feces," or I can show you what might happen if we keep going on the path we're on.
And you might not agree! You can say, "No, it wouldn't happen like that." You can say, "But this war was worth it because it resulted in this." You can say, "Actually, this particular social outcome seems pretty rad to me." That's okay because stories are a conversation, not the word of God from on high. But again, give the author a fair shake.
The most important thing is that you don't just give up if you're struggling. You're in school to learn! So accept that there are things you don't already know.
I straight up do not trust you if you did not enjoy a single book you had to read for English class. I know they assigned some real stuffy stinkers and the curriculum varies across districts but not one? Not The Outsiders? Not The Picture of Dorian Gray? Not Fahrenheit 451? Not even Frankenstein? Damn. That’s crazy.

You didn’t enjoy this, scrambling for the countless time today to make a meeting. Even more so, you hated the idea of being late to see Ekko, again. He was always so empathetic—understanding. Even if he was upset with you, and you knew he was, he would never make you feel bad about it. He understood things happened.
It didn’t stop you from speeding into the dining hall and turning to your usual table in a complete frenzy, though. “Ekko, I am so sorry. Time literally got away from me today.”
He grips a chain he’d been holding, a locket at the top, and pushed it back into his pocket quickly. “It has a way of doing that…time I mean.”
You sat down, immediately feeling way worse than you already had. “I’m sorry…”
“Don’t be, I’m sure you had a reason, right?”
“Yes,” you sighed. “I was at tutoring with Jayce. We went over vectors and I finally understand it better.”
His eyes lingered on the table, “Mm.” A hum from him, seemingly half paying attention.
“Mm?” You mimicked the sound he made, “What’s mm?”
“It’s just that I definitely could’ve helped you with that…being a STEM major and all…”
“I know that…of course I know that but-“
He cracked a smile, “I’m joking.”
You couldn’t help the smile on your face, the lightheartedness finally returning to you both. “I hate you, truly.”
“You don’t…and that’s okay! I’m extremely lovable.”
You nodded sarcastically, “Sure, I’ll let you keep believing that.” You looked around, finally taking in how desolate the dining hall actually was. It was a bit after peak hours now, considering you showed up a bit later than normal. A yawn escaped you, then, the day catching up to you.
Ekko perked up a bit, “You hungry?”
You tilted your head, “Always.”
He turned to grab a paper bag from inside his backpack—pushing it across the table to you. Your order down to the sauces, no tomatoes, extra pickles.
“Oh my gosh, I love you so much Ekko…you’re actually the best.”
He watched you inspect the bag, each little detail perfect. There was a glint in your eye; it was rather humorous that it was about food, but he appreciated it nonetheless.
You weren’t looking at him, but he was locked in on you. A genuine and soft look was on his face. “I love you…too.”
The fries you were eating fully occupied your mind and nothing besides the comfort of your bed could get your mind off of them. Ekko didn’t say much after, letting you eat in silence before offering to walk you back to your place. The sounds of the busy city filled the space between you, him occasionally ushering you ahead with a soft nudge. Neither of you spoke until you were outside your door.
You leaned in for a hug, “Thank you…I’ll see you tomorrow?”
“Yup.” He hugged you back, leaning his head into yours, inhaling deeply. “Tomorrow.”
“On time,” You pulled away, “I promise.”
His hands found his pockets, nodding simply. “On time.”
Exhaustion was creeping up on you. At this point, you had class most days of the week, Ekko meetings daily, and tutoring at least twice a week. On top of all of this, you desperately needed a job. Even with the hours that passed and the rest you got, the looming feeling of doom was making you feel anxious. There was a bubbling thought in you that in a few days time, you might genuinely have a panic attack. The signs were there, a fleeting feeling of irritation—the need to constantly be doing something. If you didn’t you’d be left alone with your thoughts and that never worked out well.
The next day's hours squished themselves together. Despite the feeling, you plastered on a smile and made your way to do everything you had to. You couldn’t chance anyone, especially Ekko, knowing that you weren’t feeling the best. Yet, the emotion often found you in silent cries. You took the long way to tutoring, walking on side roads you knew never had many people on them. In one ear, you let music play, sinking into the emotion as best you could with the consistent sounds of the world around you. It was best you cry now, you thought. You had to focus during tutoring.
You didn’t sob, but rather let the tears run freely. The cool sensation helped usually—a way for you to identify that you were present in the moment…in your body. You let your legs carry you to the resource center eventually, mindlessly walking toward the room Jayce had reserved. Truthfully, you were glad to see he wasn’t here yet.
You got comfortable, wiping your face free of the proof of your small breakdown. You straightened at the sound of footsteps approaching the door.
“Hey,” Jayce backed into the room, a small bag in his hands. He slowly turned, closing the door behind him. You weren’t looking his way, purposely avoiding his gaze—hiding your reddened eyes. “Are you okay?”
“I’m good,” a sniffle, “Just had a hard day…lot on my plate.”
He nodded, sitting across from you. “Well…I guess it’s good I made sure to bring some encouragement then.” You finally looked at him. His face contorted briefly at the sight of you before handing you the bag he walked in with. “Here…this should help.”
Confused, you reached for the bag. “But-“
“I asked Viktor,” he interrupted, “He said you would like some of these.”
“You really didn’t have to, I was just joking-“
“I wanted to,” he spoke quickly before pausing. He looked at you, swallowing the already lessening amount of moisture in his mouth. He needed some water. “Besides, the store was on the way here.” He cut himself off, gulping some of the water from his bottle.
You didn’t speak, just looking at your favorite snacks in the bag. The gesture was a lot to take in, but it was appreciated.
“Can I say something?”
You nodded, “Of course.”
“I kind of relate to you…what you said about school. I have a scholarship, too.”
“You do?”
“Yup. It’s just me and my mom and we can’t really afford it.” He repositioned in his chair, “I worked really hard before this…for years to make sure I could get a full ride. I couldn’t stand the thought of putting that burden on my mom. But, when I got here, it was like the burden was on me now, to not fail…you know?”
“Right…”
“I don’t want you to feel…you shouldn’t feel like it’s all impossible.” He didn’t acknowledge the way you started to cry a little—he thought better of it and you thanked him internally. Instead, he reached for a paper towel. “Sorry, this is all we have…with the white boards…”
“Thank you,” you chuckled a bit.
“So…are you gonna eat any of those or can I have it back.”
“I might be willing to share.”
Jayce rubbed his hands together, “That’s what I like to hear!”
The session was great, as usual. You were feeling even more comfortable—confident enough to take the next physics quiz.
More importantly, you made it just in time to see Ekko’s look of surprise when you got there before him.
“On time?”
“On time.”

Messy proposal
Pairing: Xavier x reader
Content: Xavier proposing while going down on you , oral sex , overstimulation, pussydrunk Xavier ( RIP MC ) , proposal , fluff at the end
A/N: since the nightly rendezvous banner dropped I am ovulating.
He has spread out on your couch on your back , hands looped firmly around your plush thighs with your legs lifted in the air while his skilled mouth was feasting on your cunt.
You were supposed to be attending a romantic dinner, with candlelit , Roses and all the tralala but the second he saw you in that dress all thoughts of eating went flying through the window. All he wanted to eat was you or rather the sweetest dessert he has ever tasted. A dessert that happens to be between your smooth legs
“X-xav” you whimpered out, manicured fingers sliding through his fluffy hair , holding onto them for dear life as his tongue swirled and flicked against your sensitive clit.
He was so messy , slurping everything down with fervor , not wanting to part even for a second. He was too far gone, too addicted to you. Your smile , your laugh , how your eyes lit up when you talked about something you liked , how your face would soften when he gave you that cute pout of his.
You were perfect , all his and Xavier definitely took pride in that. That's why he wanted to take things further , to finally have you officially, as his Queen , his beloved , his star , his wife.
“Oh fuck” you gasped out when you felt Xavier pick up his pace tongue drawing mean little patterns against your throbbing clit
“Love you s'much, y'know that?” He spat out right into your slutty cunt , sticky strands connecting his lips with your lower ones breaking when he parted away from you.
Parting only for a millisecond before he dove right back in. Greedy tongue just laping at your drooling cunt.
“Love you too” you managed to get out between moans and gasps, back arching against him ,hand tugging at his hair to bring his face closer.
And he let himself happily be manhandled by you , tongue now drawing letters against your clit . A mean sacatto of M-A-R-R-Y M-E?
One that has you cumming so fast and hard that your vision tipped white.
He continued to spell it out on your cunt , not stopping even when you pushed his head on over sensitivity, legs growing limp , broken whimpers leaving your lipstick-coated lips.
“Ah Xav please” you pleaded body unable to take it anymore
“Is it a yes?” He drawled out before giving your clit a gentle nip that made you squeal.
Your mind was too scrambled to grasp what he was talking about so Xavier went back to drawing out the letters on your overstimulated cunt .
M-A-R-R-Y M-E? M-A-R-R-Y M-E?
Again and again until you were a blabbing mess , your whole body trembling beneath him , thighs locking around his head so hard he might think you were trying to kill him and -honestly he would let you.
Only stopping when all that could leave your lips was “yes, yes ,yes”
Finally , finally ,Xavier think he reached heaven, he was already there between your thighs dripping in your essence.
He left a last lingering kiss on your cunt before climbing back to you , those soft blue eyes meeting yours while his face wore the most innocent smile as if he wasn't literally feasting on you 10 seconds ago.
“We're already 1 hour late” he murmured before nuzzling his cheek against your neck .
“It doesn't matter anymore , you already said yes” he chuckled before kissing your nose
Wait ! Said yes to what?
You blinked back your vision his words pulling you down from your fluffy cloud of pleasure.
“What ?”
“We're getting married, my star” he smiled before brushing a strand of hair out of your face.
“Mrs. Shen” he mumbled affectionately before kissing your temple

“Where’s your God now?” - Luigi Mangione x reader smut based on this post ↓
creds to @cranberrydietcoke and @ninemillimeterangel
summary: you are spending your night studying at Luigi's place, but a conversation about you being a christian changes the route of your night
warnings: oral sex (fem), dirty talk, blasphemy ig, unprotected sex, creampie
English is not my first language!
Spending the night studying at Lu's apartment made you a little nervous, not because of the finals, but because of him. You were going there to study and do it alone with a guy felt so, so wrong. As a christian, it was crazy to think you were about to do something like that.
You rang the doorbell and waited for him. He opened the door and smiled at you. You two went to his bedroom and sat on the floor to start studying. Your heart raced when he closed the door.
He opened the biology book, and you two started doing some flashcards, asking questions to each other and discussing how the human body works.
“You know what? Our bodies are amazing. It’s hard to believe that the nature is capable to create something like this”
— That’s why i believe in God - you said.
He looked at you, like you were saying the craziest thing ever.
“How can you prove that? Have you ever seen Him?”
— No, but I can feel Him, that’s all that matters.
“Just because we have perfect bodies with perfect systems, it doesn’t mean there’s a divine creator behind everything, you know?”
“I feel Him, I can talk to Him, you don’t understand”
“The science is the truth, I truly don’t understand how can you believe in something that’s not proven when you have real facts in front of you”
His face was getting closer to yours at every single word, the wetness of his breath was driving you crazy.
“Why are you freaking out? Just because i wanna follow the God's plan?”
“What the fuck are you talkin' about? This is the real life, and you're wasting it, you could be having the best experiences, but you rather be caged to this belief”
You lay on his bed, sighing in depths of confusion, desire and disappointment.
“you’re so pretty,” luigi whispers. it would be a waste, really, if you didn’t get all that you deserve.
he’s ecstatic at the sight of your body sprawled across his bed, he sinks down beside you and pulls your body closer to his.
“you've no idea how often i loose my mind thinking about this, about how stupid you are for depriving yourself so much”
As more he talks, he gets rougher, his feelings seems ten times more intense, his hands hold you tighter. He unzips your white dress and starts kissing your neck aggressively, leaving hickeys everywhere.
“I wanna give you real experiences, you want this, don't you?"
leaving you completely naked, he notices the wet mess that was happening all over your legs.
“you want me that fuckin’ bad?”
feeling the wetness pooling between your legs, he presses his nose against your clit, you cry out gripping his shoulders tightly.
"oh fuck, luigi," you gasp, your nails scratching his back. He smiles at you with his head between your legs shaking uncontrollably.
“So, where is your God now? I can’t see Him, I can’t feel Him…”
“oh my…” you were loosing your senses, his hands sliding up your thighs,
“look at you, you don’t even know who are you praying to”
"i want you, luigi," you cry, "i want you so bad."
“i know, my love, i know,” he says, kissing the running tears down your cheeks. Whimpering underneath him, he fucks into you like he’s craving to see you crumble.
“you’re so good, so perfect and wet, I just can’t help myself.”
He throws you on the bed, and enters you hungrily. You wrap your legs around his waist, pulling him closer.
“Look at me. I want you to look at me in the eyes, my love. You look so fuckin’ gorgeous with your legs spread.“
With each thrust, he drove deeper, filling you completely, you cry out as he hit that sweet spot inside you, he bites your neck while you’re crying against his chest.
“You’re so perfect, everything about you, I can’t get enough of this perfect pussy.”
“I want you. I want your cum inside me.”
his cock wildly moving inside your wet pussy, his dark eyes looking at your body with nothing but love, his hands tightly brushing against your waist.
"god, i'm gonna cum,"
You can't hold yourself any longer. you cum hard, your body shakes with pleasure, he spills himself inside you, filling you with his sweet cum.
He smiles at you, giving him the perfect view to watch your face as you fall apart over and over on his cock.

Now I'm imagining a timeline where Dick didnt become a cop and when he needed to get an Actual Adult Job just went back to being an acrobat and joined an e-circus.
Except he realised early on cant just go around with his actual face because people will recognise him as the son of a billionaire, and just book his shows to see a celebrity rather than for an acrobat.
He cant really wear a mask either. A full face mask would be impersonal and limit his crowd work. Plus it might scare the kids! And an eye mask might make it too easy to recognise him as Nightwing.
So, naturally, the most logical thing to do would be to use make up.
It's not clown make up! It's not! It's totally different! It just needs fancy and colourful enough designs to obscure his facial features. And of course its a circus-esque design, hes got a theme to stick to here, damn it.
Of course none of the bats really notice or care. It's just his day job and while he does occasionally show off videos of him and his fellow performers rehearsals, they don't have any reason to track down the privately booked performances he does. Plus the whole thing started back he was still pissed at Bruce about the Robin thing so it wasnt like he was actually telling anyone details about his new day job, and later it was just a normal part of his life that there wasnt much reason to talk about.
Then Jason came back and clowns are A Thing now.
The bats stumble upon one of Dicks performances in full costume and Jason is absolutely scandalised that his brother is now a clown. After everything that's happened to him. It's the highest betrayal.
Dick, meanwhile, is desperately trying to get across that he is not, in fact, a clown. It's not anything close to clown make up! Wearing make up and being in a circus does not make you a clown! Hes never even been to clown school.
The rest of the bats do not buy Dick's not-a-clown arguement either. Not necessarily because they don't agree, but because they dont really give a shit and this is perfect bullying material.
Stephanie is constantly nailing Dick with new clown insults. Tim is actively provoking both sides of Jason and Dicks new feud with off-handed comments. Cass doesn't say much either way in general, but it makes the simple staring straight into Dick's eyes and calling him a clown out of the blue even more brutal. Duke takes Jason's side with the 'do you even care about my (and the rest of Gotham's) trauma' comments. Barbara actually fully agrees with Dick and has known about this the whole time, but joins in with Jason and Duke on occasion just to mess with Dick. Damian hadn't even known that Dick had an actual job before this and is now indignant that it's a clown of all things.
Bruce would just really like it if they stopped yelling about this over comms. And if Jason stopped blowing up every slightly circus related thing in Gotham and Bludhaven.
Dick: So, you know how I’m part of an online circus?
Jason: What the actual hell is an online circus?
Dick, exuberant: It’s like... an on-demand Cirque du Soleil! People book us for events—birthdays, concerts, whatever—and performers log in from all over the world.
Jason: ...so you have clowns.
Dick, visibly sweating: Well, it’s more than clowns! We have aerialists, jugglers, fire-eaters—
Jason, standing up, looming over Dick: But you have clowns.
Dick, desperate backpedal mode: Technically, yes. But they’re like artistic clowns. Highbrow. Minimal honking.
Jason: Minimal honking? You’re telling me there’s still honking?
Dick, defensive: Controlled honking. Tasteful honks only.
Jason, crossing his arms: Joker-level honks?
Dick, horrified: Joker doesn’t even have a clown permit! He’s not qualified.
Jason: He went to clown school.
Dick: No, he shot up a clown school. That’s different.
Jason, sitting back down: You know why this pisses me off.
Dick, quietly: Yeah, I do.
Jason: It’s weird, right?
Dick: Super weird.
Jason: Sometimes I feel like you should be more messed up about clowns. Like, my level of messed up.
Dick: I know, bud.
Jason: It’s just... I feel alone in this whole clown thing.
Dick: You’re not alone. Gotham as a whole has a no-clown policy. Did you know circus clowns refuse to work here?
Jason: Of course. Otherwise, your little e-circus would’ve been torched.
Dick: By Joker?
Jason, thinking about that one time he shot up a department store window for displaying clown shoes: Uh... yeah. Yeah, Joker.
Dick: Well, for what it’s worth, you’d be great in the online circus.
Jason, deadpan: You saying I’m a clown?
Dick, grinning: No, but you are a high-value performer. People would pay top dollar to see Red Hood juggle guns.
Jason, pulling a gun from his holster and spinning it effortlessly: You mean like this?
Dick, mock clapping: Bravo! Now add some honking, and you’re ready for the big leagues.
Jason, standing up, gun still in hand: You have three seconds to run.
Dick, already halfway out the door: for the record, I'm a performer, so this retreat is performative and just to keep you happy-slash-entertained
Jason: get out!

Always Prey But Never A Bird
Based on the Yandere Batfam w/ Wife/Mother!Darling & Daughter/Sister!Darling series
Previous Chapter <- Chapter Five -> Next Chapter
“What do you mean you told him you didn’t know?!” Clove pressed you, sitting at the foot of your bed, it was early morning, not even dawn and now everyone was back from their patrols and it was just you and your friends, and they were all gathered in your room and they all lost it when they saw the open ring box on your bedside that Gabriel had left behind with you.
“I mean I told him I didn’t know, I mean it came out of nowhere.” You responded to her as you towel dried your hair, having just got showered and dressed. “It’s not like I don’t want to-“
“Then say yes!” Nettle urged you, who laid across your bed, scrolling on his phone but slamming it down when he heard your pitiful excuse for your seek on time with your boyfriend. “Look, you’re our friend, but you can’t do this forever, this is the life you’ve always wanted, I know because you’re an honest drunk and you told us-“
“Okay, enough said!” You snapped, slamming your towel on the bed next to Nettle before sitting down next to the two on your bed with a heavy sigh. “I will think about it, it’s not a no, it’s just a pause-“
“You should reject him.”
You all screamed when you heard a voice that was not one of your own speaking into the conversation as if they have been here the whole time. You all turned your heads about to see the familiar face of Damian, or rather Robin standing in your bedroom doorway. Your brother just rolled his eyes and walked over, he reached a hand out to your nightstand where the ring was but Foxglove, who was sitting on the edge of your bed, slapped his hand away and grabbed the navy blue velvet box before he could and handed it back to Nettle who passed it to Henbane, who was leaning against the far wall of your bedroom.
“Damian… how did you-“
“Father and Barbara found the way into your system with the scraps of your gear and used your so-called friends’ trackers to find…” He glanced around the room, your bedroom, a judgmental look in his eye as he did so. “…place.”
“…fuck.” You heard Foxglove mutter under her breath, not even realizing your security had been slipped behind and used against you all.
“Father was going to come retrieve you himself later tonight, but I thought I would spare him the trouble, but it seems you have been running about Gotham telling everyone who you were.” He glared daggers at you and to all your friends, stepping forward towards where you stood, poking his finger into your chest, which made you wince as your body was still bruised and recovering from what happened to you two nights prior on the bridge. “Do you know what would have happened if he had figured out all of our identities, the danger you would have put everyone in all because you decided to be a selfish little brat!?”
“Selfish… I’m selfish?” You muttered under your breath as you just looked Damian in the eye, too overwhelmed and overcome with emotion to look away. You gritted your teeth, grabbing him by the wrist and twisting it back. “I had no life before this, and now that I have my own world outside of your own you call me selfish?!”
“You live in a warehouse, you left everyone behind for this of all things?” You felt in a sudden moment his other fist come down onto your wrist of the hand that held onto his, breaking your grasp. Before you had a moment to recover you felt him blow a punch to your gut, knocking the air out of your lungs, and if that wasn’t worse enough he kicked up into your gut, knocking you to the ground. He looked over your body, glaring down at you. “If you are so strong now little sister, then fight me, beat me and I will leave without a word to father.” You could only cough and wheeze, trying to catch your breath in your already weak state, but you could not manage to in time before Damian dragged your body up and pinned you against the brick wall, his face only inches away from your own, feeling his hot and angry breath against your skin. “Of course you can’t, you are weak, you were a fool for leaving all those years ago and you were a fool for running again.”
“Get off of her!” You heard Nettle’s voice shout before there was a grunt of pain from Damian, his grip loosing up enough for you to slip out and for Clove to shove you behind her and Nettle. Then you got a good look at what Nettle did, he stabbed Damian in the shoulder, one of the throwing knives he used on his own patrols. “You can leave, she didn’t need you all then and she certainly does not need you all now.”
“She has us now.” Clove spoke along with Nettle, standing up to the assassin trained vigilante. “We look after her and she looks after us. She doesn’t need you breathing down her neck, it’s like you all are stalking her.”
Damian glared down at the knife that stuck out of his shoulder before glancing up at you all, the four of them standing in front of you as if to protect you from him. He ripped the knife from his shoulder, not flinching as it did so. He tossed the blade onto the floor and turned around, walking away, but he stopped in the doorway and looked over his shoulder.
"Father will be coming for you soon."
With those words, Robin was gone, disappearing out of the room and the warehouse, leaving you and your friends behind.
"We need to go, pack everything, we are leaving tonight, we can't stay here any longer." You said to your friends as you pushed past them, limping towards the metal staircase that led down to the main level of the warehouse.
"Where are we going to go?" Henbane asked from the bottom of the stairs as the rest of them followed behind you.
"Somewhere... anywhere that isn't here."
"Wait- you mean like, leave Gotham?" Nettle questioned, looking at you as he jogged up to catch up with you. "Why would we leave? This is our home."
“No… we can’t leave, we need to keep working…” You paused in your tracks, glancing back up at your friends and then back down to your feet. “I’ll call Mr. Austen, see if he can help, get a new security network and comm lines back up and get us somewhere else to hide out.”
“And for you to rest, right?” You stiffened up at Henbane calling out your shit which everyone noticed and you swear you could practically taste their disappointment. “Change of plans, we’re gonna find a place to hide out and we’re going to find you a place to recover.”
_______________________
“Thank you for this.” You spoke to your boyfriend as he helped you walk to the couch, one hand holding yours and letting you lean your weight on him and the other carrying a duffle bag of your clothing that Clove packed for you. You felt guilty when you informed that Clove had reached out to him again, asking for his help in taking care of you. You had just told him that you did not know if you wanted to marry him or not yet after all. “I don’t deserve you, Gabriel.”
“Yes you do, I’m the one who does not deserve you.” He sat down with you as you sat down on the couch, leaning into the plush surface with a heavy sigh. You felt his arm come around your shoulders, pulling you close. “The chef is making caprese sandwiches for lunch with those garlic fries I remembered you liked. My parents know you are here but they are going out for dinner tonight after their meetings so I thought salmon rice bowls would be nice or maybe carbonara pasta.”
It felt weird, stepping back into all of this. When you were little, when it was just you and your mother, you had private chefs, a household staff, your mother’s personal assistants. Then when you ended up back here in Gotham you were never left to care for yourself since Alfred always looked after all of you, even when you stayed with Dick in Blüdhaven he never even let you near the kitchen. When you ran away you had none of that, you were eighteen and had to learn basic skills because no one ever bothered to teach you on top of learning how to fight, all of that on top of being separated from your mother and not knowing if you’ll ever see her again, having to part with your whole identity, becoming a no one. You never got a break, never let yourself rest until now, four years later.
“Hey, hey, hey, are you alright?” You heard Gabriel speak to you, his other hand coming up to cup your cheek and guide you to look him in the eye, he always knew when something was wrong. “Are you alright, dove?”
“Oh… y-ya, I’m okay…” You leaned into his hand, closing your eyes and letting yourself relax into his touch. “That sounds nice, I skipped breakfast this morning anyway.”
“Oh okay, I’ll text the chef and let her know to give you extra fries and make an extra sandwich for you in case you want more.” He took his phone out and typed something up before setting it down and pressing a kiss to your face, just beside your eye. “Can’t have my favorite girl going hungry on my watch.”
“You treat me way too well.”
“I treat you like the way you deserve to be treated.” He smiled before his phone buzzed with another text and he looked down at it and then back up at you. “Do you want orange chocolate cheesecake or lemon cream cake for dessert?”
“Mmmm, you’re going to make me sick.”
“Then I get to take care of you even more, doesn’t sound so bad to me.”
_______________________
“Say ah.” You laughed as your boyfriend pressed a spoonful of cheesecake to your lips, he was practically doing this at this point to smear some of the chocolate drizzled on top onto your face so he can kiss it off. But you just opened up your lips and pulled the cheesecake off with your tongue, your lips trapping the sweet treat in your mouth as he slipped the spoon out. “Atta girl.”
You two sat at the dining room table next to each other. You were dressed in your pajamas and he was dressed in a white button up shirt and black dress pants with black matte leather lace up ankle boots. Honestly it did not surprise you how he dressed, he was the heir to one of the biggest fashion companies on the East Coast, it made sense. You had finished your lunch and there were plates of cheesecake for each of you, but still Gabriel slipped you bites of his own plate.
But honestly it was the best thing you have tasted in years.
“Hey Gabriel…”
“Yes Dove?” He looked at you, setting down his spoon on the side of his plate, he was giving you his full attention. “Something wrong?”
“No, I was just thinking… I want to marry you, I really do, I… I just don’t want you to get hurt because of me.” You felt ashamed, you could not make yourself look him in the eye, but yet he was so gentle and patient with you. “I don’t know how to settle down or what I want to do… I was expected not to go to college when I was young and honestly I just feel trapped where I am right now but I can’t do it forever, what if I get hurt beyond repair.”
“Well why did you go into… vigilantism in the first place?”
“To spite my father and siblings… and to protect Gotham, I suppose.”
“Well… that was not the answer I thought you were going to give, but we can work with that.” He responded in a tad awkward tone as he pulled out his phone. “You said you didn’t think you would be allowed to attend university and get your degree? Do you still have your grades from high school and your ACT scores?”
“No… those are all with-“
“Don’t worry about it, I can get those for you, just a few calls to clear everything up.” You watched him turn the phone around to face you, the home page of the Gotham University website. “Applications end in a month but my family is the largest donor to the school so I’m sure they’ll give you a second chance, they also have online classes as well.”
“This is sweet and all but I have no clue how I’ll pay for this-“
“I will.” He spoke, setting his phone down on the table and picking up his spoon again, cutting into his slice of cheesecake again. “The tuition is pocket change to me.”
“I still can’t let you do tha- mph!” He shut you up by shoving cheesecake into your mouth mid word, and your surprised reaction made him laugh as you swallowed the cheesecake down your throat.
“You can’t stop me, I am telling you what I am going to do, dove.”
_______________________
“Dove, are you ready to go?”
It has been almost two weeks since you have started staying with your boyfriend and his family. Foxglove has recovered from her own injuries and is back on patrol and you are on comm lines and cameras, you’ll be sitting up in bed with Gabriel cuddled up into your side, his arm wrapped around your waist.
Now you are fully recovered, or at least recovered enough. There was to be a charity gala tonight, Gabriel was going to stay behind with you and his parents were going to go by themselves and then you told them something at dinner last night…
“I… I could go if you want me to.”
And my oh my did they absolutely adore that idea, especially Mrs. Christel, she practically dragged you off to find dresses for you like you were a doll, though she picked items you actually liked, not everything that your family dressed you in when you used to attend these sort of events.
“Yes, I’ll be out in just a second.” You called out to him from the bathroom as you slipped on the back of your earring onto the earring in your earlobe. You opened the bathroom door as you grabbed your phone from the counter, a new one after you had to get rid of your old phone in case it was getting tracked, another gift from your perfect boyfriend. He was sitting on his bed, dressed in a black tuxedo with a small pink peony pinned to his suit jacket. His eyes went wide at the sight of you and his lips fell slightly agape and now his reaction made you laugh. “How do I look?”
“Beautiful, absolutely gorgeous, dove.” He spoke to you as he stood up from the bed, walking over to you and setting his hands on your waste and pressing a kiss to the tip of your nose. His hands trailed down to your hand, pulling you along to head out. “My parents are waiting for us in the car… wait a second.”
He paused after his fingers intertwined with yours and he felt something off, he glanced down at your intertwined hands to see what was on one of your fingers…
The engagement ring.
The way he looked at you was the same way an overextended puppy gets when they hear their owner say ‘park’ or ‘walk’.
“Is this… I… do you?”
“I do.” You replied, reaching your hand up to his cheek and leaning forward to kiss him on the other cheek, leaving a slight lip gloss stain. “I want to marry you.”
_______________________
You are truly regretting saying you will go to this charity gala. Your heart pounded in your chest as you sat in the car with Gabriel and his parents, his hand resting on your thigh while you could hear the over excitement in all of their voices as they talked about your future wedding, you suppose the apple never fell far from the tree.
You felt as if you were going to vomit as you felt the car slow down, the sign as the car pulled up to the museum that the party was being held, the Gotham Art Museum. You could see the flashes of paparazzi cameras and the loud shouts of conversations and attempts to catch people’s attention.
“Hey, you’ll be alright.” You heard Gabriel tell you as the car door opened and you saw his parents step out of the car first and a part of you wanted to shrink off into the corner of the backseat of the car, letting the car drive off. “I’ll protect you, no matter what.”
You could only nod as you watched your boyfriend step out of the car, giving a brisk nod, smile, and wave to the paparazzi before reaching a hand back to you to help you out of the car like the gentleman he is. It took a huge act of courage for you to take his hand and allow him to pull you out of the car and the moment your foot took a step onto the concrete all eyes were on you.
It felt like you were going to have a heart attack or a panic attack as you heard the paparazzi shout your name, your old name, your real name. It all made you want to vomit especially when the flashes of the camera blinded you.
“Miss Wayne, where have you been?”
“Is your disappearance anything to do with your relationship with your family?”
“Why are you not with your family tonight?”
“Wait…”
Damn it, it was only a matter of moments before they noticed the ring on your finger.
“Are you engaged to the heir of the Christel family?”
“Does your engagement have anything to do with-“
You looked up to the top of the stairs that led up to the museum entrance and your heart absolutely plummeted as you made eye contact with your father.

JAMES KELLY had been through a lot in his life--seen things most people wouldn’t believe, did things he had to pay for--but nothing, nothing, compared to the intense terror of sitting in the passenger seat while you drove.
His big hands gripped the armrest and the door handle so tightly it looked like he was trying to leave imprints or like his life depended on it, which, considering your recent near-miss with a parked car, wasn’t entirely an exaggeration. You, on the other hand, were calm as ever, hands light on the steering wheel as the car drove through the traffic like a needle threading through the fabric. The car jolted as you cut through a yellow light at the very last second, and James made a deep noise in his chest that sounded suspiciously like a prayer.
“Sweetheart,” voice tight but somehow still gentle. “You’re not… you’re not tryin' to kill me, right?”
You blinked at him, wide-eyed and impossibly sweet, hands resting lightly on the steering wheel. “Of course not, Jamie. Why would you even say that?”
He gestured vaguely to the road, jaw clenched, mind shaking. “Baby, you just blew through that light. And the stop sign. And you almost clipped that SUV back there. You got a death wish I don’t know about? Is it about me not liking your new recipe? Or--or did I do something?”
you gave him this "you're slowly becoming exasperating" look “Jimmy, please, you did nothing, baby. Besides, it wasn’t that bad,” tone so angelic it was almost absurd given the chaos and hell you were wreaking on the streets. “I didn’t hit anything, did I?”
James turned to stare at you, blue eyes narrowed in disbelief. “No, but that’s because God himself must’ve been paying attention.” He dragged a hand down his face, exhaling harshly. “Slow it down, doll. We’re not in a race.”
“Sweetheart,” James began again “Do you always have to drive like you’re in the Indy 500?”
You glanced at him, wide-eyed and innocent. “What do you mean? I’m being careful now.”
“Careful?” he echoed, tone incredulous as he gestured to the windshield. “You just cut off a truck. A truck, baby. Do you know what happens when a truck doesn’t stop in time?”
You bit your lip to hide your smile, keeping your focus on the road as you changed lanes smoothly--without signaling, of course. “But it did stop,” you said sweetly.
James tilted his head back against the seat, muttering under his breath. “Jesus Christ, please save me.”
You sighed, tapping your fingers against the steering wheel "you said you trust me"
“I do trust you,” he turned to face you, eyes sharp with a mix of frustration and affection. “It’s just the rest of the world I don’t trust. Especially when you’re driving like--” He cut himself off, taking a deep breath as if he was trying to mentally calm down. “Okay, just… maybe slow it down a notch, yeah?”
“But I’m trying to get us home faster,” you said earnestly, voice soft and sweet like honey you had in the backseat. “You said you were tired, and I wanted to make sure you could properly rest as soon as possible.”
James blinked at you, jaw working as he tried to find a response. Finally, he sighed, dragging a hand down his face. “Baby, that’s… that’s really sweet of you, but I’d rather get home in one piece, alright?”
You gave him a quick, innocent nod, hands tightening slightly on the wheel. “Okay, okay. I’ll be more careful.”
But careful wasn’t exactly your forte.
Moments later, the car swerved sharply as you changed lanes without signaling, and James sucked in a sharp breath, one hand shooting out to brace himself against the dashboard. “Jesus Christ, woman,” he hissed, glancing out the window and freezing when he spotted the police department a few blocks ahead. “Alright, pull over. That’s it. I’m driving.”
“No!” you gasped, horrified, shaking your head so quickly you looked like a child being denied his favorite dessert. “I’m doing fine, Jamie. It's fine, you're fine"
When you finally pulled into the driveway--miraculously without any accidents, yet with you complaining at other behind the wheel -- James practically throw himself out of the car, hands on his hips as he took a deep breath of the cool evening air.
You rolled down the window, leaning out to smile up at him. “See? We made it safe and sound.”
He gave you a long, hard look, shaking his head. “Safe? Doll, I aged about ten years in the last fifteen minutes.”

Hii!
Could I request platonic Boothill, Gallagher, Sunday and Blade with a teen reader that kind of just stuck to them because they have no parents?
(idk if I can request platonic hcs, pls lmk if not <33)
hello!! thanks for your request, I hope you like it!! <33 and it's fine really, I also enjoy platonic hcs. sorry for the bad grammar
Boothill
- When Boothill found you, you were heavily injured, bleeding. Alongside you, there were two adult figures, both lifeless.
- Boothill was in the middle of a mission that just happens to be in a place that was recently attacked by Anti-matter Legion. He couldn't help but notice your figure, somehow still alive.
- He took you with him to treat your injuries. When you woke up, you were scared, noticing to be in a place that isn't your home, your parents missing and with a cowboy cyborg man watching you.
- You asked where your parents were, but Boothill just sighed, admitting that they won't be with you so soon.
- You got the message and immediately started crying in pure despair, you were alone. Alone in this world with nobody to lend you a hand.
- Boothill could only remember his time when he lost everything, when he lost his kid and family. He felt the closest feeling to what should be an ache to his chest, and suggested that if you wanted to, you could stay with him. He knew he was being impulsive, as a teen living with him could only mean putting them in danger, but he could never let someone who desperately needs help like you to be left behind.
- You were wary about his request at first, but you didn't see any options beside accepting it, as you had nowhere to go.
- And so Boothill became your reference.
- To ensure your safety, he taught you how to handle guns, how to aim in the right spots to take your enemy down, and practiced your reflexes so you wouldn't be easily hit.
- His trainings were all strict, but it was all to keep you safe. He always tried to cheer you up with jokes and reassured you when you weren't doing well in your practices.
- Even after so many training, he still would be really protective of you, being able to beat his targets while also looking after your safety
- "Don'tcha worry kid, while you're with me, no one's gonna hurt ya." - He winked while you both were preparing yourselves to another mission.
Bonus: On your birthday, Boothill would gift you a similar hat that he is using to you, after all you were teammates now, right?
Gallagher
- Gallagher found you by pure chance while strolling the streets.
- He saw a teenager sneaking through a store and and carefully putting something in their pocket while leaving.
- He follows you and eventually corners you to ask you questions.
- You explained that you are only doing that for survival. Your parents sacrificed themselves to keep you safe from an unknown attack, making you completely alone.
- Gallagher listened carefully and couldn't help but also somehow identify himself with you in his darker times, completely lost, without a place to go.
- He told you to bare with him a bit and follow, while he has an idea.
- After a long discussion with the Bloodhound Family, they allowed Gallagher to watch over you with the condition that you don't interfere in any of their duties.
- You were truly surprised at first, as Gallagher didn't miss a beat to somehow take care of you. As much you were suspicious about second intentions, you rather try and see if that was a trap instead of refusing and choose to live only by surviving.
- He said you both will be living by an accord: he would take care of you and guarantee a better life, while you promise to never cause any sort of trouble again and also giving back the thing you stole it. For you, it was a win-win situation, so you had no complains.
- Gallagher was a mysterious man to you, full of secrets, always with a tired look. But even so, he was always ready to teach you many things and tips so you can grown up and be a wise adult.
- Also, in any case of potential danger, he was always prepared to keep you safe, hiding you in perfect spots, or keeping you behind him while he takes care of the threat. He was a silent but caring parental figure to you.
- "I didn't have much opportunities to have someone to guide me to be a better person. I don't want you to be like me, kid. I want you to be whoever you want, and better." - He said one day while sipping a drink he prepared and you also drinking a juice he made.
- You didn't get much of what he said, but you knew he was always trying to teach you only the best. He was hiding a lot and you knew it, but you believed it was for your own good.
Bonus: He teaches you the basic of mixing drinks and sometimes you both have nights where you can experiment combinations of drinks all you like! He always drinks everything you create even when the taste is questionable.
Sunday
- Sunday and the Astral Express decided to relax a bit at a nearby stop when he found you.
- You were wandering, with a hollowing look in your eyes, seeming completely lost.
- He decided to approach you, asking if you were okay and where your parents were.
- "I lost my parents. I lost everything. All it remains is.... void. Nothing. I am nothing."
- Sunday eyes widened at the realization you were just a teenager, lost and unprotected making him remind of his sister, and his deep fear of losing her and let her all alone.
- He asked you to follow him and if you wanted to stay with him and his crew for a bit. You just shrugged off, "it's not like if it matters or not", you thought.
- The Astral Express welcomed you with open arms, touched by your situation, and told you can stay as much as you like until you find somewhere you can call a home.
- Even if the others were extremely kind to you, Sunday was the one approaching you the most, including you in every situation. He couldn't help but try to make you see him as an older brother figure to make you feel safer.
- It took a while for you to open up, but as Sunday keep tolding you his and the others stories, making sure you were always comfortable, and reassuring you to take your time to adapt to the new environment, you finally felt like everything is ok.
- As you discover that Sunday would be temporarily in the Astral Express, you insisted that you want to go with him when he finally finds his promised land. Sunday was surprised, specially because you called him big brother as you stated your wish.
- With a tender smile on his face, he promised he will always be with you, and you both will be searching for this land together.
- "Don't be scared little one, the future is uncertain, but as long we stick together, we don't have to fear anything."
Bonus: Sunday writes a letter to Robin saying he wants you both to meet each other, stating that the family got bigger. He cannot wait until the moment you three can be together.
Blade
- Him and the Stellaron Hunters were traveling around following Elio's script when they found you, almost on the verge of death.
- Kafka already knew it was part of the destiny to finding you, and asked Blade to handle the situation.
- He was confused at first, not knowing much what to do, but even so he scooped your fragile body onto his arms and took you alongside to the Stellaron Hunters.
- After some weeks you finally opened your eyes and saw Blade on your side. He told you he knew you would wake up today and was checking up how you were feeling.
- You said you were lost, and still feeling pain, but you remembered a strong man carrying you to safety. "It was you, right?" you asked.
- After you were completely recovered, Kafka always made sure you were always by Blade's side, making Blade teaching you the basic of self defense, even if against his will.
- Somehow, after passing so much time with Blade, you got attached to him, seeing as some sort of big brother figure. You wanted to follow his steps, be strong and relentless as him. You admired him.
- Blade, on the other side, tried to push you away as much as possible. Firstly because he thought you were a hassle to handle, but then he realized it was because he wanted to protect you. He was a monster, and that was no lie to him, and the last thing he wanted was ending up hurting you somehow.
- He didn't know how to handle you most of the times, as he was not used to deal with teenagers, but even that, he started to enjoying your company, even if never admitting that.
- "Listen kid, one day, when my journey reaches to an end, I am going to die. Don't think that as a bad thing. It's my most deserved rest. Until that day, I am going to make you stronger. You will never be like me, but take that as a blessing. You will continue your journey on your own, but this time, you won't need to be scared. Take the obstacles of your journey as challenges to reach your highest potential. Don't waste anything, got it?" He said that to you one day.
- Even if you were scared of losing someone you cared for again, you already understood everything he said. You smiled, and promised to be the strongest warrior someone ever seen.
Bonus: On the beginning of your training, Blade was teaching you how to reach for the enemies weak spot and made you stab him on his chest. You were terrified as seeing the sword crossing his body completely, your mind going blank. Blade couldn't help but laugh as he takes off the weapon watch your reaction as his body regenerates. It was the first time you thought he was super cool.

*deep sigh* math Tumblr get ready to tell me I'm wrong. If you don't care to figure out about how many hit points a planet has, don't read past here.
Okay. Let's assume Earth as an appropriate volumetric analogue for Toril (which is the forgotten realms planet, which I'm aware isn't quite as big as earth; but let's just pretend here so we can get a grasp of the magnitude of planetary hig points).
According to NASA, Earth has a volume of 1.08321e12 km^3. For those unfamiliar with number compression in mathematics, e12 means you move the decimal 12 to the right, meaning the longform volumetric value is 1,083,210,000,000 km^3. And that cubic kilometers. D&d happens in feet. Specifically d&d uses abstract sizes represented in (for the most part) 5ft increments. A medium creature takes up about 5 ft^3. A large creature takes up about 10 ft^3. And that's as big as the table on the dmg goes for object hit points. Here's a good link for object hit point reference, I'm going to base some of this off that table (it's the same for 14 and 24 editions of 5e). So a 10 ft^3 object that is "resilient" has 27 hit points. Now, rather than scale that up to the absurd amount of cubic feat of a planet, we're going to do what most sane GMs do and work with chunked object volume.
For ease of math, we're going to do a few things. We're going to work with 20 ft^3 chunks of space, we're going to assume they're all "resilient," and we're going rough out the total hit points of each cube to ~50 hp.
So lets break the earth up into 20 ft^3 chunks. Step one is convert km^3 to ft^3. That puts us to a total volume of ~3.82531999776959e22 ft^3. Which is a lot. Divide by twenty to get the number of 20 ft^3 chunks we're going to attribute hit points to, giving us 1.91265999888e21 chunks. That's a lot of chunks. Each has 50 hit points. That's a grand total of 9.56329999442e22 hi points.
But surely you could do less damage than that and still break the planet beyond repair. Yeah. Sure. In fact. Most large objects you can break into chunks and set a chunk threshold beyond which the structure is considered destroyed. And we have a partial reference for this for earth: Chicxulub crater. This is the crater left by the meteor that caused the extinction event credited with killing the dinosaurs. The crater has an approximate volume of 1.10944297536200504e15 ft^3. So if we calculate how many chunks that includes, we can calculate the number of chunks you need to reduce to 0 required to "kill earth." That's ~55,472,148,768,100 chunks. Each has 50 hit points. So in order to kill earth, you need to break that many chunks or deal approximately 2773607438405012 damage.
But in the case of this item specifically, it deals damage to all objects in a 1 mile radius. Assuming a relatively flat plane to stand on and no subterranean voids, the sword deals an average of 65 damage to every 20 ft^3 chunk in a mile radius. This accounts for roughly 308,290,669,751 ft^3 of earth, and 15,414,533,487 chunks of 50 hit points. Meaning it deals about 1,001,944,676,690 damage to earth. And on top of that, destroyed objects disintegrate upon destruction from the sword, resulting in an instant 1 mile radius hemisphere crater.
One hit isn't enough to kill the planet, but unless you can fly and have more total hit points than the sword deals to you, you are going to die. It would also take... ~2,768 hits to kill earth. Assuming max level fighter going at it non-stop without action surge and assumed 100% hit rate, that is... ~12 minutes in-game of nonstop combat? The fighter would probably kill themselves a thousand times over unless they can fly and are immune to force damage.
Anyway. Thank you for taking this dumb math adventure with me.
I really liked the flavor of the Worldslayer card, so here it as a magic item! Only use as a last resort!

Wolfgang Akire and the Blackmail Motive
I have so much to say about this blackmail motive, and I haven’t seen anyone talk about how it’s both indirectly and directly responsible for what went on with Wolfgang. Spoilers under the cut.
Eva and the Direct Killing
Firstly, and most obviously, there’s the direct way with how Wolfgang was affected by Eva. When Damon showed Eva the blackmail he had on Wolfgang, Eva says that it “confirms her feeling that Wolfgang is suspicious”. Afterwards, the group explores the pharmacy, including Eva finding the hidden poster that led to her needing to kill someone. Had Damon not confirmed that suspicion, there’s the slim chance Eva wouldn’t have killed.
To go entirely theoretical, without the blackmail, Eva may have countered Damon when he suggested not trusting the others because of her lack of total suspicion around Wolfgang and his dominance over the group, allowing for her to avoid falling for the motive. It’s also possible Eva would have killed someone besides Wolfgang, though admittedly not likely since she considered Wolfgang the ringleader, and isn’t able to see the people who are kind to her regardless like Diana. Considering Eva’s main reason for murder was her victim complex of everyone hating her, she could have killed someone else, especially with how common it became to bully her for her talent near the end, which Wolfgang didn’t necessarily do, but did “allow” (at least, in Eve’s perspective, which was the only one she needed).
2. Wolfgang and Indirect Killing
Now, what I haven’t seen anyone talk about, is how Wolfgang indirectly caused his own death! Wolfgang is the one who implemented the “one-on-one” conversation policy for blackmail discussions. He even starts to sweat when people start discussing just sharing the blackmail openly beforehand, and he says instead that people need to “give the person a chance to explain themselves”. Given the suspicious contents of Wolfgang’s blackmail, and the fact Wolfgang himself is clearly very aware of it, he implemented this policy not for the safety and structure of others, but for himself. Is this technically, in a roundabout way, implementing a rule for the safety and structures of others, as Wolfgang was aware he had become a leader for most and didn’t want to shake their faith in him? Yes, but it’s because of this selfish decision for privacy rather than open discussion that both Wolfgang and Diana were lured to the boiler room, and Wolfgang was killed. He was trying to preserve his image, and statistically he had a great chance of succeeding with how many people he had gathered to his side. It was unfortunate luck that it was Damon, who later shared with Eva, rather than one of the other 13 students who received his blackmail and likely would have actually brought and talked to him about it. Still, had the entire group had an open discussion and everyone explained themselves, what would have happened? Would Eva still have had a reason to find Wolfgang suspicious if he explained himself? Would it have furthered group trust or worsened it? We’ll never know, but it would have certainly been an interesting thing to see, especially since that’s where it was going before Wolfgang’s interference. We definitely know what happened because of Wolfgang’s decision to discuss the blackmail one-on-one.
3. Bonus Thought: Wolfgang and the Knife
Additionally, a vague foreboding reminder, we have no idea what Wolfgang’s “come to the boiler room” note said. It was ruined by the water, and Eva (its writer) never revealed its contents. The most likely instance is it was a “discussion of blackmail” note, like was used to lure Diana. However, Wolfgang still brought a knife. Considering they were meeting in the dark boiler room all alone, and with what ended up happening, he wasn’t wrong to, but was his original plan to bring a knife to a “normal” blackmail exchange? What for? What was Wolfgang planning to do with the knife if there was no murder plot occurring that morning? Was it a last resort of sorts, if his blackmailer didn’t like his explanation? Was it really just for protection? Regardless, I think it’s fascinating that he clearly brought the knife due to a lack of trust, either for his own protection or his own safety, which goes (again) against everything he was preaching. Wolfgang, who constantly told everyone to trust each other, didn’t trust anyone- to the point he brought a knife to a private meeting and refused to share his own blackmail, which got him killed. Beneath the Veil of Hypocrisy indeed.
