The quotation thing is simply not true. The rest of it is common courtesy when speaking to another member of the human race. You don't demand free things from strangers, you don't speak negatively of the shit they are doing and clearly like, and you don't tear apart their work when they haven't asked for it. Sure, it's all legal, but it's not going to make you any friends.
