The portraits of younger heroes and villains in totally-not-EAH-and-SFGAE-rip-off Merlin Academy, if anyone's curious. And like, before anyone goes at me for that nickname for Merlin Academy: the villains group portrait literally has 'V.K students' under it, implying they themselves are children of villains, which just opens up the idea that these kids basically became evil like their parents before them and the only ones to not be evil are the prior Descendants main characters, aka, similar to main characters in EAH and SFGAE. At this point, Disney is losing their right to complain if EAH does ever return because the only one copying right now in Disney.

Me watching the LGBT community who almost never rarely gives black women and girls, asexuals, or aromantics genuine respect, pretend we’re all friends and have always treated us right the minute it’s June 1st and want to use black women(mainly darkskinned) and girls as their little poster girl:

Oh yeah last night I had a dream where i watched a magical girl anime that was like... madoka magica but not and it was mildly interesting tbh
#rambles#it was like#it was a group of girls with powers who fought monsters like your usual magical girl show#they were all prepping to fight this one big monster (i only remember 1 monster they fought that was like a giant octopus)#so it was Like walpurgisnacht but not (also the monsters weren't former magical girls like in madoka)#the catch was that when they transformed into magical girls they caused some damage themselves in return#the severity of the damage depending on how much pent up anger they had#the 1 girl i remember specifically was like a fusion of madoka and homura#she had the long black hair and the homura personality but she apparently had so much pent up rage that if she transformed#she might end the world herself and they all knew that so the girls were trying to prep without having to resort to her#i woke up before dream me watched the whole thing... sad#thanks brain for making a bootleg madoka magica i guess lmfao

I've seen a couple of stories do this now, and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't also considering making long hair a sign of strong magic in Skysail
In places with a lot of magic use, long hair would be a status symbol, conditioners and tinctures sold with claims to encourage growth. Or perhaps parents carefully trim their children's hair so they aren't pulled away by a school or by court magicians.
Where magic is more feared, a culture of grooming becomes well established, people learning to trim another's hair short like you might learn to sign your name or ride a bike.
Of course, that depends on whether or not a particular world or settlement actually knows about this axiom. And whether or not hair length actually *does* affect magical ability is another question entirely.

Your mom lets you have 2 bibis??” And I see myself in the mirror (strange!)#And I have a funny little stash growing (along w a weird mullet thing going)#I start thinking something like 'oh its growing in well!' And start to remember my grandma commenting on it? Implying I should shave it? Ca#Shouldn't have mustaches? And then thinking how ridiculous that was cause I really liked how it was looking? Or something?#I didn't really have any strong gender... connotations? To my facial hair?#It's especially strange cause I can't really remember a time where I've seen myself in a dream?#But besides that; I remember using the bathroom a lot. I think I was in some sort of class at one point? I think we were sharing plant#Stories? Guys I'm so incredibly sorry. My brain is currently full of gen 1 my little pony thoughts only suitable for the fictbio blog
#i have created so much fake science as to how magic works#after hundreds/thousands of years ponies evolved symbioticly with magic (which isnt technically alive but functions kinda like an organism)#and now most of them have generate amount of magic via their heads. which is why the hair is magic + all the magic is done with ears/noses#ponies with excessive amounts of magic usually have growths on their foreheads (unicorns) or eyes (the twinkle eye bitches)#there are ways to artificially enhance your control over magic (most notably tatoos which only heighten control over what the tatoo is of)#(which is why cutie marks are practically a cultural necessity. you usually choose one as a teenage coming of age thing)#(the ones babies have are temorary and pretty weak and just exist to fuck around and find out/let the kids explore their options)#((i might change my headcanons on this so cutie marks are actually natural but im proud of the hypothetical idea)#most babies we see are genetic clones but ponies can reproduce sexually#sea ponies are a relatively newly evolved species (if you can even say that about a species. theyre been here thousands of years)#and they're only semi-aquatic as babies. kind of. they have a separate air breathing respiratory system and water breathing one#and as bebs theyre still learning to use each one selectively so they need to gradually ease into the water over years so they dont drown#or maybe im wrong ive been reading the box descriptions for hours but its been forever since i watched the series#all i remember about the series is that not having a shadow makes you all kinds of sick#and that you call upon the seaponies when youre in destr-
