My thoughts on OUAT s7

I just have to get these out of my head and into written form so I can stop thinking about it.  Let’s see if it works.  Ha.  Below the cut for those that don’t care...

Different scenarios depending on who is coming back.  I am going to start by assuming Snowing is going to be gone or reduced to guest characters.  I just can’t imagine that Ginny isn’t being offered a ton of stuff (Josh too).  So assuming that...

- OUAT is not renewed.  Then CS gets a happy ending and we see how A&E intended to end the series.

- OUAT is not renewed on ABC but A&E have been shopping it around with various other networks and streaming services (a la Mindy Kaling).  In this case, it’s anybody’s guess what a season 7 would look like.  It could use the same cast or start anew with a whole new cast and whole new premise similar to Once Upon a Time in Wonderland.  Big IF on that scenario.

- OUAT is renewed and all four of the mains (minus Gosh as I said) are renewed. I still think the show will take a different tone in that case.  Maybe they will leave Storybrook and have adventures in other fantasy lands or even the Land without Magic.  OR they could stay in Storybrook and never leave.  It could become the Captain Swan show (my personal dream).  But I think as a CSer we’d be happy.

- OUAT is renewed and one of CS does NOT come back.  Now honestly, I think there is only one way this happens and it’s if Jen leaves.  I cannot imagine Colin leaving if Jen doesn’t.  I don’t know why, it’s just my gut feeling.  I mean, if Jen is willing to stay with all the opportunities she has other work she is doing, they why wouldn’t Colin?  HOWEVER, if Jen leaves it can go one of two ways...

------ She would still come back as a recurring character and Killian would be spending season 7 trying to find/rescue/get back to her. (Ugh...I hope not).

-------Captain Swan will have a happy ending and everything will be fine at the end of season 6.  Then we will have season 7 be a tale of what Captain Hook and Rumple and I guess Regina did in the past?  I mean at least in the case of Rumple and Hook we’re talking 300 years of stuff.  My problem with this theory is I don’t know how appealing that would be to ABC.  I feel like ABC loves Colin, yes...but if you want to give him is own show, give him is own show. I don’t know.  It would have to quite the compelling case A&E would have to make to get ABC to bite.

- OUat is renewed but neither Jen or Colin come back.  Honestly, I’d be fine with this as long as they got an epic happy ending at the end of season 6 and we get introduced to some new characters that are super intriguing and can look forward to a true reboot and an all new show...a la OUaTiWL.

My gut says that they will get renewed.  I have no idea of the conditions of that renewal but I would SO love a shortened season that just ties up all the stories with a nice bow and ends with a holiday episode in December...FOR ONCE.  Maybe even a It’s a Wonderful LIfe or Christmas Carol type story line that would be a nice ending for the series.

Disclaimer: I know nothing.  My ideas are usually never right. I do understand that this is a job for these people.  They are all friends and work friends (which is not minimizing because when you spend that much time with people...often more than you spend with your own families...you become very close), but they also are individuals who have their own aspirations and desires in their careers.  So fandom should act accordingly as they owe you nothing.
