So uh more random au thoughts but like imagine Amy shows up on earth and she's lost and scared. Wade finds her and immediately he gets her to Sonic and Co because he doesn't know what else to do but he does keep her calm and makes sure she not crying anymore when he gets them both to the Wachowski house.

Once there Maddie gets her some coco and the story comes out how her home was attack by these strange metal creatures that came from an open portal. She only managed to escape because a traveler had thrown their own portal ring to make an escape and threw her through it instead after they got injured. Knuckles immediately assumes it had to be robotnik that did this as who else would and he had found his supply stolen after the mecha fight. Sonic promises her that she's welcome on earth until she can find a more permanent spot and that he'll find Eggman so they stop whatever he has planned.

She thanks them and Wade tentatively offers the spare room he has since he got full ownership of his mom's house since she's retired to a condo in California. Amy accepts and thus starts the friendship between the four. She follows after them when they hunt for leads against Eggman and even starts helping in fights when she figures out she has skill with hammer like objects. The boys get pretty attached and there's jokes that Sonic may have a crush on her (he doesn't but she always blushes so red when they come up so it keeps happening).

And it's all a fucking lie.

Yes the destruction of her home was real but it wasn't by robots and it wasn't even recent. It was years ago when she was younger and the traveler that saved her was barely a teen herself. After they got to safety the two decided to stick together to keep each other safe and ended up becoming master jewel theives.

It's Rouge her sister is Rouge.

Cue during their travels looking for the rumored chaos emeralds/master emerald they run into Robotnik and Stone. And while robotnik was...robotnik they got along well with Stone and joined the egg empire for the safety and tech it provided.

So when stone mentioned they were looking into ways to get ahold of the master emerald Amy didn't even hesitate to volunteer as mole. Rouge and her have never been as safe, comfortable or fucking happy as they have been since joining Stone and robotnik's side (neither will admit the weird sort of family that the four of them have become but they both will protect if they have too) and if to pay for that life she just has to trick a couple dumb hero wannabes that she's their friend just long enough to steal the master emerald then she will.

She is a thief afterall.
