Sometimes I feel sad about how JYL's engagement was broken because the last straw, the very last straw, the terrible thing JZX said that got WWX punching him, wasn't even about her at all, but about JC. JYL's engagement got broken because WWX is stupid about JC and WWX is also, in a different yet related way, stupid about JFM's favouritism.

thankfully she does get an apology for it, but yeah.

#the fact that the apology is only mentioned as an aside in a later chapter...#her father breaks her engagement without asking anyone #her brother damages her engagement because of something her betrothed said about her OTHER brother #i'm feeling extremely charitable toward yzy for that engagement given that a loving MIL was an amazing prospect #it's so interesting to me how madam jin loves jyl!#jyl is a mediocre cultivator and not any kind of a grand alliance by the time we do see madam jin dote on her #but madam jin does act with her like she wants to be jyl's benevolent auntie AT LEAST #she really does love jyl #even if you think she only loves jyl because jyl is yzy's daughter
