6. What’s one fact about the universe of [insert fic] that you didn’t get a chance to mention in the fic itself?

oh hm. i actually don't know... i usually do not have any very interesting secrets about my fic unvierses. and if i do i'll probably just hamfist it into the fic somehow. this is very much a non-answer but i thought probably too hard about it and i literally have Nothing

17. What highly specific AU do you want to read or write even though you might be the only person to appreciate it?

OH YOU WANNA KNOW WHAT I WANT. au where logan is in indycar. i think it would be fun and interesting... like there is something in me that wants to write a sargewood teammates fic but the idea literally does not go beyond well. That. logan/kyle teammates. idk man i also just want more indycar fics in general and you know whattt maybe logan and indycar are two of my favorite things and i want them Combined. logan sargeant indycar au. i think loscar with logan in indycar could also be fun whether they're both in indy or just logan and oscar is still in f1 hey did you know i love indycar

23. What’s a trope, AU, or concept you’ve never written, but would like to?

there are actually a few things which most of why i Haven't written them is bc i struggle... but time loop, body swap, time travel, really any of that weird subgenre of vaguely magicky stuff that's kind of just accepted by society as a funny little thing. i do have a body swap wip atm (ik i've posted snippets in the past) that i Do want to finish but i am easily distracted. either way all of those kinds of tropes are ones i lovee to read and have been wanting to write myself for Ever but they always turn out being tougher than i think they'll be

Being in a fandom for 20+ years is weird because you’ll see posts like, “How come I never see people mention x” and it’s like. We did. We talked about that a lot, actually. Actually it’s something that came up. And it’s hard not to be like, “Yeah, we discussed this fifteen years ago.” Half of this fandom wasn’t even born when these discussions happened. Wild.

Sorry but plenty of us use the phrase "trapped in the wrong body", that is exactly how we experience it, saying this is "just not correct" is just invalidating all of us and telling us, real actual trans people not fictional trans characters, that actually you're wrong about how you experience being trans and dysphoria and how you express that. Also I suspect that even many people who don't actually experience it like that would still use phrases like that if they're trying to explain it to a cis person in a way they think the cis person might understand so even for characters like that there would still be contexts where they might say something like that.

Also transsexual may be outdated, that doesn't stop many trans people referring to themselves that way especially older trans people because that is the term they've known for decades (also I've seen people who are not native English speakers use it too).

Writing Trans Characters

DO:

1. Treat them like regular people, like actual human beings, because they are people, not just trans

2. Mention they’re trans at some point, because proper representation is important- it doesn’t have to be a huge reveal, it can just be one sentence, it can be totally offhand

3. Be confident about including trans characters in any setting- there have been trans people since there has been gender, there’s no context in which their presence makes no sense

4. Research things like binders and tucking and hormone therapy if you don’t know anything about them

DON’T:

1. Do that thing where a character’s like “I was Steve… But now call me… Stevette”

2. Include a trans character simply for the purpose of fetishisation

3. Feature unsafe practices like binding with bandages unless it’s really crucial to the plot, somehow

4. Use the phrase “trapped in the wrong body” or outdated terminology like “transsexual”- all of which can be easily researched- because like, honestly, it’s just not correct

they’re calling it block party 2024. just blocking and ignoring countless celebrities who havent said shit about palestine. influencers, actors, anyone who went to the met gala, whatever, they’re getting blocked. and people keep talking about how cathartic it is, how good it feels, how they never realized they could DO that. there was some kind of subconscious law against blocking famous people, but it’s broken, and people are LOVING it. and it’s WORKING. a social media/digital advertising coordinator was talking about how ad companies are PANICKING, because they can’t accurately target anymore. so many big influencers, including fucking LIZZO started talking about palestine the MOMENT their follower counts started going down. and the best part? no one is forgiving them. lizzo posted a tiktok asking people to donate to palestinian families, and all the comments just said you’re a multimillionaire. put your money where your mouth is. blocked.

i feel like i’m witnessing the downfall of celebrity culture, right here right now. people are waking up.
