2nd time again sorry but can write DRA another girls and then have a situation where there S/O keep accidentally hugging them when they go to be wake them up
if I’m being completely honest, I think I terribly misunderstood this prompt. I interpreted it as a S/O who randomly hugs the girls. So if it’s terribly wrong and you want it fixed feel free to dm me!!
I realize i did read this horribly wrong and I’m sos sorry, I will remake this eventually.
Warnings: Light spoilers
~ Mod Haruhiko ✈
Kizuna Tomori
⭐ Kizuna is so touch starved, she doesn’t even know how to react when you first hug her. She just stands there and cries but when you ask she just says that she had something in her eye.
⭐ Her relationship with you was the first time she had ever been able to open out and be vulnerable, she’ll probably try and shove you off the first few times you try and hug her. But she’ll start accepting them after a little while.
⭐ Kizuna loves your hugs and after a little bit of time she’ll start to get pissy if you don’t hug her that day.
Kiyoka Maki
đŸč Oh my god! Physical touch is her love language as well! The first time you hug her, she will try and lift you up and spin you around, and spoiler alert! It doesn’t go very well.
đŸč But from this day forward the two of you have an unspoken competition to see who can hug each other the most. And she’s the Ultimate Sharp Shooter. So you are really in for a treat. She’ll commit a lot of sneak attacks
đŸč Kiyoka just loves hugs all around. Unlike Rei, she’ll do it in public without any hesitations. She has no shame when it comes to light PDA.
Akane Taira
đŸ«§Â Another touch starved girlie, she also cries when you first hug her because she has barely ever had gotten physically affection from her life as she grew up in an orphanage and then she served Utsuro, someone who wasn’t keen on anything.
đŸ«§Â Akane loves you so much and she’ll probably end up copying your mannerisms of constant physical affection. And despite this Akane will always blush a deep red when you hug her.
đŸ«§Â Although she loves you to no end, Akane would end up feeling slightly overwhelmed by the affection every so often. But she stilled loved to be my your side even when she feels overwhelmed.
Ayame Hatano
👟 Ayame gets so embarrassed and blush when you first hug her. Despite being hugged a ton platonically. She love you and Ayame just doesn’t know how to handle it.
👟 She had never been good with romance before and she wasn’t good at it starting then either. But Ayame loves when you surprise her with hugs especially on days she’s just feeling overall really down about everything.
👟 Ayame loves when you hug her after a race even after she has already told you not to over and over because she’s sweaty but always do so anyways because you love her and don’t care if she’s a little stinky.
Mikako Kurokawa
🔼 ANOTHER TOUCH STARVED GIRL. Please give Mikako all your love, she deserves it. She won’t cry when you first do it, as she’s become used to hugs thanks to Yamato.
🔼 Mikako will though cry when the two of you are alone in her room. The two do you sitting in comfortable silence and then you just hug her. It sparks a deeply rooted sense of love in her. And she truly just wanted to tell you how much she loves you in the moment.
🔼 But in public Mikako will gladly accept your hugs but will get embarrassed when one of the girls end up teasing her over it.
Rei Mekaru
đŸ„ŒÂ Rei Mekaru will shove you off of her in public the first time you try. And the second. And the third. She loves that you’re physically affectionate but she also says that she was a reputation to uphold and will not let you hug her in public.
đŸ„ŒÂ Hug her all you any when it’s the two of you. She will gladly accept them and will very often roll her eye in the mist love struck way possible. But she’ll claim that she only tolerates your affections
đŸ„ŒÂ Rei loves you and despite her denials her love for you is very clear. Even though she has an extremely cold exterior fronting.

I am currently rewatching Sense8 and since I saw one of those “The Love Language of the Chosen Children” posts flying around, I was thinking about giving this a try as well with my very own interpretations, because - love is fun and comes in many shapes.
Taichi Yagami - physical touch/quality time: I think the other post also mentioned this, but it’s just really apparent to me that Taichi shows his affections through hugs (Agumon, Hikari), hands on hands/shoulders (Koushirou, Yamato), generally being very physical with others. He may not always find the right words to express his feelings - so showing people that he cares is way more effective. Plus - if Tri (onwards) told me anything about him, it’s that he actually craves spending time with his dear friends DESPITE his tendency to isolate himself. He loves to have his friends around (hence his continuous attempts to get them to come to his football match) and it really drags him down if it’s not working out (see also: Our War Game, even if the circumstances are different).
Yamato Ishida - quality time(/acts of service): Yamato isn’t the best at expressing himself with words either, so making time for the ones that are dear to him is definitely his way of showing affection. When he’s young it’s still difficult to make a move forward and get over his insecurities, especially when it comes to wanting to protect Takeru - but actually spending time with him, quietly and comfortably, playing the harmonica (also and especially when he’s with Gabumon!) means a lot. The stageplay also showed this rather vividly, because, as important as his band was to him, spending time with his friends was still a priority (and you can also tell that the loneliness displayed in Kizuna didn’t do him too well either). Regarding acts of service - I mainly thought of him cooking for others or, once again, playing the harmonica.
Sora Takenouchi - acts of service/words of reassurance: Sora really is a double-edged sword in this regard. She is, obviously, the self-proclaimed mother/big sister of the group and even if she struggles with her sense of obligation and fear of failing, it is STILL a big part of her personality to be there for others. Whether it’s about reassuring your senpai (Jyou), preventing things from falling (Jyou and Yamato), stopping friends from eating poisoned mushrooms (Taichi and Takeru), advicing them to change their approaches and way of thinking (Mimi, Miyako and Meiko), caring for them when they’re sick (Hikari) or calling them to check on them (Koushirou); Sora will think of others first and she’ll do what it takes to be helpful. Tri and Kizuna also tell us that she’d like to be cared for herself as well, even if she has a hard time admitting and accepting it (see her hesitation in telling the others that she wants to take a step back until Mimi approaches her).
Koushirou Izumi - acts of service: Once Koushirou is confronted with a problem/puzzle/issue, his first instinct is to dig deeper to try and find a solution. And even if it’s probably not always a conscious decision, this also means that once his friends are confronted with problems, he will try to find a fix for that - even at the expense of his own health. Whether it’s about something drastic as saving the world (the entirety of Our War Game), preventing their Digimon partners from getting corrupted (Tri) or literally sacrificing himself for the sake of others moving forward (like when he told Taichi to move forward to save Sora and he’d hold Etemon back - or when he knows he’s this close to losing his consciousness, just to use his very last seconds to send Taichi a message). If he can be helpful, he will do his research and try his best - and if it’s about setting up an online shop for a dear friend or helping her to find the cheapest flight home (Mimi).
Mimi Tachikawa - giving gifts/physical touch(/words of reassurance): Mimi is pretty straight-forward when it comes to the things she cares about, so providing the people she cares about with little things to make them happy (like sweets and food in Tri, generally gifts in the dramas - and don’t forget the nuts she gave Jyou as sign of her love!), she’ll happily do so. She also has a great affinity to show her loved ones HOW much they are loved by hugging them dearly (Palmon, Jyou, Meiko  also her classmates once she gets reunited with them in 01) or using a gentle touch to reassure them (Sora, Miyako). The older she gets, the better she also becomes at reassuring and praising people with words (especially Sora, but definitely also Jyou, Meiko and Koushirou).
Jyou Kidou - acts of service(/words of reassurance): I like to refer to Jyou as “the sacrifice”, not only because he eventually decides (during the time of Tri/the stageplay, but even as early as 02) that he wants to dedicate his life to helping others, but also because his main way of showing affections towards others has always been drastic. Climbing a mountain, so nobody but himself gets in danger (especially focusing on Gomamon here), jumping or almost drowning for the sake of saving a dear friend (Takeru - and also Yamato and Sora), you name it. He’s also staying behind to be by another friend’s side who clearly needs gentle company (Mimi) and pushes another friend out of shooting range (Koushirou). The older he gets, the better he becomes at being an inspiring senpai (especially Iori in 02, but also throughout the entire stageplay), using just the right words to impress the ones dear to him (also taking Gomamon, who is just so in awe of him and his development).
Takeru Takaishi - quality time(/acts of service): This becomes a little bit more apparent in 02 and onwards, but Takeru, just like Yamato, shows his affections mainly by spending time with others (especially the 02 kids, Patamon and Yamato of course). Keeping the group(s)/family together is a big objective of his and he doesn’t want to see anyone sad/upset. Offering little gestures is also a big part of his love language (like when he offers Ken food or takes a step back to let him drive in the taxi instead, OR when he offers to assist Koushirou with his fashion problems).
Hikari Yagami - acts of service/words of reassurance(/giving gifts): Hikari gives her love in small doses with big effects. The older she gets, the better she becomes at voicing what’s and who’s important to her and words of gentle (or persistent) reassurance will follow. Even if she struggles to take care of herself and her own needs, wanting everyone to be happy and at peace (Tailmon and Taichi especially, but also all the 02 kids) is vital for her. If you’re hurting someone important to her, she WILL call you out on it (see literally every evil Digimon or entity she encounters)- and, subconsciously or not, will go out her way (even at the expense of her own health) to make sure it won’t happen again. She also likes to show her affections through little gifts (like the whistle she left for Tailmon or the photos she takes throughout 02).

Never Too Late For A Leap Of Faith
Part 1
(Part 2)
Five times Taichi only feels the presence of Digimons and one time he actually meets them (again).
Words: 2126 Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Tags: 5+1 Pairings: Taichi Yagami/OC, Sorato, Jyoumi
Inspired by this youtube video talking about how the end of Kizuna fits into the narrative of the Epilogue in 02, posted by TheDigiKnow. It’s in my opinion a thorough and yet personal analysis.
When there was a baby’s cry from the labour room, Taichi broke down in tears. He’d been pacing to and fro in the hall leading to it, but only after his wife Kana had dislodged some knuckles in his hand by holding it too tight during a contraction and he had to be treated for it. Afterwards he hadn’t been allowed in again because, and that was something he didn’t like to admit, he had been on the brink of fainting before Kana’s force had jerked him back to consciousness.
A nurse stuck her head out the door and smiled. “Congratulations, Yagami-shi, you have a son!”
Taichi wiped away his tears, smile a little lopsided, and entered the labour room. His wife Kana, whom he had met at a diplomatic meeting three years ago, looked pale and drained, but smiled broadly. She mopped her sweaty brow with a neckerchief, pushed her long black hair that looked a tad greasy after her exertions behind her ear and leaned forward to receive a kiss from Taichi. Then she pulled away the duvet that had been drawn over her to reveal their newborn son. He had chestnut brown hair just like Taichi but his mother’s bulbous nose and when he opened his eyes they were a startling clear blue.
“Most children have blue eyes when they’re born”, the nurse explained. “They’ll darken over the course of the first year.”
Taichi hadn’t said a word yet, he was too transfixed on this small bundle of life that he helped to produce and that he was now responsible for. That realization suddenly felt heavy on his shoulders but when he looked into Kana’s soft yet endearing black eyes, the very eyes he’d been mesmerized by from the very beginning, he felt the weight ease.
“Do you want to hold the little egg?”, Kana asked and lifted the bundle towards Taichi who’d been instinctively forming a cradle with his arms.   Something at the back of his mind stirred to life, something about a green yard full of cribs with colourful eggs, the way it never had before when the word “egg” was mentioned, but Taichi didn’t give it any notice. Tears were running down his face again as he watched the miracle before him. With a scratchy voice he whispered “Hello Hotaro, welcome to the world.”
The first days were reserved just for them so the three could get to know each other. After the tiredness of being born had worn off, Hotaro was a very awake child. In every sense. He had trouble sleeping through, which caused Taichi, suddenly becoming self-conscious about his appearance, to use Kana’s concealer. She had taken a year off from work while Taichi went back to the office after three days. His colleagues welcomed him with a round of applause, a light blue greeting card, and a big stuffed and, for some reason, snow white teddy bear. As he looked the bear up and down, suddenly a cold breeze swept over him and gave him goosebumps. He immediately knew how he would name the bear.
“I am Frigimon”, he muttered under his breath.
***
Hotaro loved Frigimon. He had accepted the name without hesitation, affectionately calling him Friggi, and never going to sleep without him. Once Frigimon had entered the Yagami household, something had shifted within Taichi. Usually he was highly alert in his meetings but now he started dreaming away. Dreamt of a tram that didn’t need rails, of an island ruled by an evil bat-like looking creature, and vending machines in the middle of nowhere.
He also started dreaming away at the kitchen table when having dinner with his family. At some point he was so far gone that it needed a gentle slap on the shoulder by his wife. When he looked at her questioningly, she said “Muchomon”.
He tilted his head. “What do you mean?”
“Muchomon was my Digimon partner. He vanished when I was 24 and had just finished my degree.”
“You were a DigiDestined?” Taichi’s eyes went wide as saucers.
She nodded. “It’s been a while but since you brought Frigimon here the memories have boiled up again. You should talk to your friends again, and more than just at their birthdays and about irrelevances. I thought you’d been so close? To be a DigiDestined, and having fought numerous battles, welds together – for life.”
Taichi took a deep breath. He kneaded his hands. He hadn’t wanted all this to happen – to let the contact cool down or even freeze. It had just happened. Because. Because of life, he guessed. At some point work and his little family had become more important than his long-term friends. He didn’t even know how many children Sora and Yamato now had!
He banged his fist on the table.
“Dad!” Hotaro exclaimed frightened. He had never seen his father so agitated. Immediately, Taichi regretted his outburst. He had never wanted to scare his son, become violent around him. And now he had. Because of his own shortcoming. “I’m sorry, Hota”, he quickly said, tearing at his hair. He got up, walked around the table, and lifted his son in the air.
“It’s okay”, the four-year-old said, gently touching his father’s face. “Can you let me down, please?”
   Taichi complied, a bit confused.
Hotaro took his hand and led him to his room. “Sit down, Dad. I’ve found something while playing in the attic a few days ago.” He handed him a box which Taichi instantly recognized, and his heart ached. He didn’t need to lift the dusty lid, sprinkled with little fingerprints from his son, to know what was inside. But he did it anyway. Coming to light was a round pair of goggles and a smouldered Digivice. He only noticed he was crying when the first tears hit the Digivice, just like they had done many years ago when Agumon had to say goodbye.
   For good.
Or so he had thought. But Digimons were reborn. He had witnessed that many times. Maybe it just hadn’t been the right time until now.
He lifted his head to look straight into his son’s open, curious, beautiful face. When also Kana had been a DigiDestined, then maybe their child should also supposed to be one. Or no, no he shouldn’t. He should choose if he wanted to become one.
They had been thrust into this world without having been asked first. They had had to come to terms all on their when they’d been mere children and the forces who had chosen them had never offered much aid. He wanted this to go differently.
He noticed that Hotaro held up Taichi’s phone. Koushirou’s name was on the display, it was already dialling. “Call him”, Hotaro said. Taichi shook his head. That kid was much smarter than was good for him.
***
“Oh!! It’s soo good to see you all again!”, Mimi exclaimed, as excited as ever.
Taichi had to dial down the volume of his computer as the audio overmodulated. But he smiled, genuinely, because he felt just the same. Before him, the screen was split into five segments, all filled with bright smiling faces.
“Jou, come over, they’re here now!”, Mimi called, her face turned away from the camera. In the background there suddenly was the sound of glass crashing on a tiled floor, followed by a stream of swear words. “Jou, I told you not to swear in front of the kids!” She turned back to the screen. “I’ll be back in a minute.” With that, her segment got empty.
Her friends chuckled. “I see you were cleverer”, Taichi pointed out to Sora and Yamato, who were sitting together in front of the camera and holding their two children on their laps. Their son had inherited Sora’s maroon hair while their daughter was as flaxen-haired as Yamato. They were both visibly bored, wriggling about on their parents’ laps trying to grab office supplies that were clearly not toys in their vicinity.
“I’m not so sure about that”, Yamato remarked, dryly as ever, as he pulled a stapler away from his son’s hands.
“Dad, have you seen my hockey stick?”, someone called in the background of Koushirou’s screen segment.
He sighed. “I thought you put it in the cabinet beside the shoe rack. You know, where it’s supposed to go.”
“I did but it’s not there. And Yui and her mom will be here any minute to pick me up for training.” The voice grew whinier and more urgent.
Koushirou bowed apologetically to his friends. “I just have to help my daughter.”
Meanwhile, Mimi had reappeared, Jou and their two sons in tow. “Hiroshi, Sasuke, say hello to Mom and Dad’s friends.” Mimi nudged them a little forward.
The older one, taking remarkably after Jou with his blueish-black hair and the glasses, hesitated but the younger one, sporting a daring chin-long bob with a middle parting, grinned and brightly said “Hi, I’m Sasuke.”
The DigiDestined greeted him back with a laugh. “Say Sasuke”, Taichi started, “does your mom and you go to the same hairdresser?”
Sasuke looked at him in surprise. “Yeah, but how do you know?”
  More friendly laughter.
“My brother’s good at guessing, is all”, Hikari remarked, absentmindedly fastening her hair-clip. She wore her hair the longest it had ever been but subconsciously she itched for a cut. But her daughter always said that she looked so nice with the long hair even though Rika couldn’t stand long hair herself. Hikari had even caught her once as she had cut her middle brown hair with kids’ scissors.
“Oh, I see”, Sasuke said, tilting his head. “But you don’t look like siblings at all.”
“Sasuke!” Jou turned red in second-hand embarrassment. “Sorry, my son can be a bit blunt sometimes.”
“I wonder whom he has that from”, Takeru mused, hand held on his chin as if he was pondering a very difficult question.
“I heard you are a writer”, Hiroshi suddenly said, nervously adjusting his glasses.
Takeru’s expression turned smug. “And a pretty successful one at that.”
“Yeah, but Dad thinks you’re exaggerating at times.”
 Jou turned even redder. “That’s
that’s not what I’ve been saying!”, he sputtered. “You just sometimes spend a little too much time on one detail.”
“That’s not what you said, Dad!” Hiroshi turned to his father, affronted. “I’m not a liar!”
“Of course not, my dear”, Mimi said soothingly. Then she leaned in closer and whispered “Sometimes adults don’t like the truth very much.” Louder did she say “Why don’t you two go and get your guinea pigs to show our friends, mmh?”
“Oh yeah!” They bounded off out of the frame.
“And where’s your kid?”, Yamato asked his brother.
Takeru shrugged. “At band practice. Don’t know where he got the musical talent from but he certainly has some. And no, Yama, he hasn’t gotten it from you. Because he’s better.”
Yamato dramatically inhaled. “You didn’t say that!”
“I’ve got a round of witnesses who can confirm that I just did.”
“Sorry Takeru, my connection was a bit wobbly for a few seconds. You said something?” Taichi asked suspiciously innocent.
Takeru shook his head. “And you call yourself my friend.”
Before anyone could reply to that, Koushirou plonked himself down on his chair breathlessly. “I’m back!”
“Did you find the hockey stick?”, Sora asked, glad about the diversion. She had already feared that the mood could be slipping.
Koushirou nodded solemnly. “Yes, just in time. And it was actually me who had misplaced it because I had cleaned out the cabinet and didn’t put it back.”
“Tststs, Kou. I hope your daughter doesn’t have to put with too much.”
Koushirou shook his head. “Of course not. Being a single parent isn’t easy but we have a cleaning   lady who comes in two days a week and I can bring Koyuki to my parents if need be.”
Yamato muttered something under his breath which earned him a jab in the ribs by Sora. “In this house we don’t judge”, she breathed into his ear, only audible for him.
  He reluctantly nodded.
“These are Tom and Jerry”, Hiroshi and Sasuke announced, diverting the tension once again.
Taichi chuckled. “They don’t look like a mouse and a cat to me.”
“We weren’t allowed to have a cat and a mouse”, Sasuke replied.
“You wanted a mouse?” Sora could hardly hide her laughter.
“Unbelievable, right?” Jou seemed to shiver just at the thought of having a tiny and cunning rodent in the apartment. And a slightly dumb but very persistent cat chasing it.
Takeru laughed, too. “Most certainly.” Then he leaned forward. “But have we just come together to get to know your pets or is there a more pressing matter?”

[fanfic] Secrets of Ears:  Chapter 4
Daisuke tried to wrap his brain around what Gennai said. He’d been created? It had felt kind of funny when he’d first heard it from Koushiro but to hear all the details like this – it wasn’t all that funny anymore.
His stomach churned a little bit as he stared down at his hands, then looked up at the others.
“So what does all this mean?” He wanted to know. “I mean – I’m not going to start wanting to tear apart reality or something, am I?”
“Unlikely. Gennai shook his head. “As I said, while you weren’t intended to develop a mind or personality of your own, you did. Which means you make your own choices, just like any other human or Digimon. But you will have to be wary of your dark side.”
“Dark side?” Miyako asked, eyes narrowing a trifle. “What’s that?”
“Just what he said,” Yamato answered. “All of us who have Viral blood have a dark side. The part of us that’s pure viral and takes after our Viral parent.” He twisted his lips for a heartbeat. “All of us have Digimon names. Mine is Chiguumon. But my dark side is Anbumon. They’re – not quite different people, not quite us.”
Jou nodded. “My name is Jitsumon. Dark side is Fuseiimon.” He made a face as annoyed as Yamato’s. “He drinks a lot more blood than I do. I do it because I need to. He does it because he likes to.”
“Aikoumon,” Sora quasi-introduced herself. “And my other side is Akuenmon. She’s not really someone you want to meet.”
Ken’s ears were naturally paler than the rest of him. Right now, Daisuke thought that the rest of him wanted to catch up to his ears in paleness. He swallowed.
“So what about us? Or the others?” His eyes flicked between Miyako and Koushiro.
“We don’t have dark sides. I’m Vaccine and Data, Miyako is Vaccine,” Koushiro told him. “As for the two of you, I can’t honestly be sure. You’ll have to encounter those sides to know their names. As for your own names – you’ll learn them. They’re written into your data.”
Daisuke wasn’t that worried about it. Gennai had just said that he could make his own decisions, so he wasn’t going to fret about a so-called dark side. What he worried about was Ken and what Ken was probably thinking. Ken had mostly accepted his past and moved on from it. But to hear that there was a dark side in him just waiting to get out

Nope. Daisuke wasn’t going to let Ken worry about that. He’d not done all that work to get him to feel good about himself to let it all go to waste now.
So he stood up. “Well, thanks for letting us know. Come on, Ken. I want some ramen. You want ramen?”
Ken was on his feet a moment later. “Yes. I would like ramen.”
“Before you go,” Koushiro spoke quickly. “You need to be aware of this. Your powers are linked to the Digital World. The more time you spend there, the easier they will come to you. But now that you’re aware of them, they could manifest at any point. The key seems to be strong emotion. Watch yourselves.”
Daisuke didn’t waste another moment. He wrapped one hand around Ken’s, and wasn’t even remotely surprised that Ken’s hand shook in his grip.
He squeezed Ken’s fingers and smiled at him. This was weird, yeah. But it wasn’t anything that they couldn’t all get through together, just like they did everything else.
They settled back onto the train, neither of them saying anything about what they’d found out. Ken stared up at the train’s roof, his eyes half-closed, his hand still firmly in Daisuke’s. Daisuke’s fingers itched to bury themselves into Ken’s hair and do everything he could to soothe Ken.
He held back, though. He wasn’t going to bother Ken’s hair or even get close to his ears in public. He’d made a promise.
They stayed quiet all the way until they were in the ramen shop that Daisuke had wanted to go to today. Their partners stayed with them, just as quiet, Wormmon snuggling around Ken’s shoulders, V-mon leaning a little against Daisuke’s side.
It was V-mon who broke the silence. “I always kind of thought you smelled like a Digimon,” he said. “But I thought that it was because of me.”
Daisuke blinked before a laugh broke out of him. “Guess not.” He playfully tapped at V-mon’s nose. “Guess you need to get your nose checked.”
V-mon pouted, playfully whacking back at him. Ken chuckled a bit, but it sounded strained. Still, the ice had been broken.
“I don’t care who your sire was,” Wormmon said, squirming around so he could stare soulfully up into Ken’ eyes. “You’re my Ken-chan no matter what.”
Ken’s cheeks reddened and he stared down into his ramen bowl. “I don’t want to be like that again,” he murmured, hands clenching together. He swallowed for a second. “Do we know – do we know anymore if it was the Spore or if it was – me?”
“Does it matter?” Daisuke asked, shrugging. “You’re not like that now and you’re not going to be ever again. You know better. You’re not going to hurt anyone innocent ever again.”
He wasn’t surprised that Ken was worked up over it. He’d probably stayed worked up over it for a while. Even with Daisuke and Wormmon and all of the others telling him over and over that he’d grown and didn’t need to be worried about it. Ken worried. It was what he did.
“Hey!” A vaguely familiar voice declared and someone dropped himself down on Ken’s other side. Daisuke glanced over to see Tachibana Noriaki sitting there, flashing that brilliant white-toothed smile. Daisuke wondered if he should ask which toothpaste company sponsored him. “Didn’t think I’d see you guys here.”
Ken tensed at once, shifting to be closer to Daisuke. “Why not?”
“I thought you were gong on a date,” Tachibana teased. “You are dating, aren’t you?”
“Yeah.” Daisuke wasn’t going to deny that they were an item. “And we are on a date.”
Tachibana tilted his head. “You’re going out for ramen as a date? I took my girlfriend to the gardens. Saw some really awesome flowers there.” His eyes glowed warmly. “You should do something like that. Or to a concert.” He stopped, eyes suddenly focused on Ken’s ears. “Or would that be too much for those poor sensitive ears of yours?”
One hand flashed out and dug into Ken’s hair, squeezing his ears. He didn’t let go, even as Ken squealed and started to bat at him.
“Aw, it’s not that bad! You’re not a little kid anymore, are you? You should be used to people playing with your ears, especially if you’ve got a boyfriend!” Tachibana grinned, light glinting off of his teeth.
Daisuke was on his feet already. He didn’t normally get too angry; he’d never really felt the need. It had to be something horrible to really trip his temper. Seeing this jerk fondle Ken’s ears like that, when Ken so very clearly wanted to be anywhere but here, did it.
“Let him go!” Daisuke snapped, and he wondered oddly why his voice sounded different, deeper, darker. Not for a moment did he think about what he’d been told earlier.
At least, not until a gleam of something caught his eye and he saw a long, sharp sword resting in Ken’s hand. Ken’s grip tightened and when he turned towards Daisuke, Daisuke could see red flames dancing in the back of them.
They’d been told the process would take time. It seemed that time wasn’t very long at all.
Part of him – a part that he’d never been aware of before – stirred. Those rage-spawned flames were so pretty. Not that anything about Ak – Ken – was ever not pretty, but there was something special about them regardless. He wanted to curl up in those flames and bask there forever.
Instead, he rested one hand on top of Ken’s, where the sword waited. He shook his head. “No.”
Tachibana either hadn’t ‘heard or wasn’t paying attention. He rubbed harder. “Hey, can you hear really well with these things? They look so weird, you should get some kind of benefit from them, right?”
As fast as Daisuke was, Ken had always been faster. He leaped to his feet, knocking Tachibana away with one hand, and brought his sword around to point at the other’s throat.
“Touch me again,” he growled, voice sounding far too much like the Kaiser, “and I won’t hesitate.” The tip of his sword rested on Tachibana’s throat. “And I won’t care.”
Daisuke strolled to stand beside Ken. “And I’ll give him an alibi. Anything he does, you pushed him to it. We told you to stop. You’re not listening. Either leave us alone or pay the price.”
Tachibana looked, to tell the truth, as if he were about to wet himself on the spot. Daisuke wouldn’t have been surprised. In point of fact, he thought it would have been hilarious.
Wormmon hadn’t moved from around Ken’s shoulders. He rested one pod on Ken carefully. “You don’t want to hurt him, Ken-chan,” he murmured. “He’s not worth it.”
“No, he’s not.” Ken replied. “But if he doesn’t leave me alone, I will.”
Tachibana turned paler even than Ken’s ears. He stumbled back, eyes flicking all over. “You’re insane!” He spat the words out before ducking away and fleeing for the door as fast as he could.
They were the only ones there at the time – they’d stayed long enough at Koushiro's that most of the usual crowd had gone home. The ramen chef had stepped into the back. The timing really couldn’t have been better.
Daisuke closed his hand once more on Ken’s. “He’s gone,” he murmured. “You can relax now. It’s all right.”
Ken stared at him,, the bright ruby flames still burning. Then he swallowed, staring down at the sword as if he’d never seen it before in his life. Daisuke guessed that he really hadn’t.
“What did I do?” Ken whispered brokenly. “What did I do, Daisuke?”
To Be Continued
Notes: One chapter left to go! Sunday wraps it all up. I rather enjoyed writing the confrontation between Ken and Tachibana. Tachibana will probably run screaming if he so much as spies Ken across the street now. He’s lucky Akogimon didn’t fully awaken. Akogimon would have skewered him and laughed about. Think Kaiser, but worse. Much, much worse.

[fanfic] Cookies and Chicken:  chapter 1
I think I have everything, Hikari thought, counting over her items. She squared up her shoulders and started to measure out flour and green tea powder. This was her first time ever making green tea cookies and she wanted to make certain that she got it all right. Once that was taken care of, she mixed up the butter and salt, adding in the egg yolks, and followed it up by adding the flour and powder. Last but not least, she carefully added the final touch: white chocolate chips.
When she had a chance she checked the time. Miyako wouldn’t be home for another hour – plenty of time for the cookies to finish.
Her heart beat just a little faster at the thought of Miyako – best friend, Jogress partner, girlfriend, lover, partner, Healer. They were tied so closely together that Hikari couldn’t imagine existing without her.
She turned her attention back to the cookies, cutting the dough. Her mother hadn’t ever been the best cook and she wasn’t sure she was much better. But for Miyako, she would definitely try.
Once she had her dough properly shaped, she checked her recipe again, blinking.
Oh, no. Hikari sagged against the counter for a few moments. I read it and I forgot about it. She sighed and closed her eyes. This wasn’t going according to plan and she’d barely even started.
Well, there wasn’t much to do about it. She carefully wrapped up her two dough cylinders and set them in the fridge before setting about cleaning up the mess she’d already made.
Once done there, she flopped herself down onto the living room couch and stared at the ceiling, grumbling to herself. She’d wanted the cookies done by the time Miyako got home. Miyako studied so hard and she deserved a treat, especially this time of year.
Hikari cast a quick glance to the window, where a fountain of chilly winter sunlight poured in over the plants Miyako had so carefully planted when they moved in here. Every one of them remained in the peak of health, mark of a strong and talented Healer. Just seeing those made her smile again at the thought of Miyako.
A very familiar tone buzzed from her phone. She snatched it up quickly. “Hey! You’re not done early, are you?”
“Sure am,” Miyako replied, weariness evident in her voice. She’d taken her turn tending to the city Gardens and that always wore her out. “I’ll be home shortly.” There was a brief hesitation. “Do you feel like cooking tonight?”
Hikari’s eyes flickered to the kitchen. She thought she held herself back from laughing fairly well. “What else did you have in mind?”
“Let’s go out and get something.” A definite whisper of eagerness in Miyako’s tone. “I’d die for some fried chicken right now, honestly.”
“That bad?” Hikari knew that Miyako, like most Healers, wasn’t a strict vegetarian but most Healers also didn’t eat meat all that often. For Miyako to ask for it now – well, not only was it the holiday season but she had to be starving.
“That bad. Two tests this morning and then I took a turn through the gardens. They’re doing all right but I did have to shore up a few of them since that storm’s going to hit tomorrow. Are they still predicting that we’re going to lose power?”
Hikari sighed. “I think so.” That was why Tailmon wasn’t there, nor Hawkmon. Everyone’s partner was spending the next handful or more of days in the Digital World, safe and sound.
They expected the power to be back up as quick as possible, but no one could be certain. She’d seen plenty of horror stories already about people buying up toilet paper and water and whatever else they could get.
“We can deal with that later,” Miyako promised her. “I’ll be home soon.”
“See you,” Hikari bid her farewell and closed her phone, rolling off the couch to go check on the dough. No matter what she did, it would be impossible to have the cookies ready by the time Miyako got there.
Almost makes me wish I was a Frostflame. A Frostflame could – perhaps – have chilled the dough in here minutes. But her fires continued to blaze along as hotly as they always had.
Miyako hadn’t ever complained about them, of course. Hikari liked holding the taller woman in her arms and feeling her fires wrap all around Miyako, while Miyako’s energies surged around her, balancing one another out.
Well, she would just have to tell Miyako they were having green tea cookies. It wasn’t as if that would be a horrible fate. She just wished that she could have kept them a surprise until they were ready.
She wandered over to the window and stared out. It felt warm over here, but she wasn’t sure if that was because of the sun pouring through, the fire that flickered to one side, or her own internal flames, burning bright and strong. She could see a few clouds off in the distance, thick and heavy with unfallen snow.
I wonder if a Frostflame could stop this. She’d never asked one. She’d never even met one. But Frostflames had tremendous power over everything related to cold, especially snow and ice. Just as a Firestarter could sometimes calm a volcano – if they were strong enough – a Frostflame could, possibly, tame a snowstorm.
But there weren’t any in Tokyo that Hikari knew of and she had to admit, she kind of looked forward to curling up under a warm blanket with Miyako and keeping them both warm, in every way that the two of them could contrive.
Hikari stood there until a very familiar lavender-haired form came into sight. Miyako moved with all of her usual speed, casting a glance up and grinning when their eyes met. Hikari waved and Miyako waved back, touching her fingers to her lips quickly before entering the building.
It didn’t take her too long to get up to their apartment. Hikari came right to the door and embraced her as Miyako hung up her jacket. Miyako sighed and leaned against her.
“That always feels so good,” she groaned softly, wrapping her arms around Hikari. “You’re the best space heater ever.”
Hikari laughed a little, especially as Miyako’s cheeks reddened. She shook her head, tiny strands of pale lavender striking against Hikari, who just held on tighter.
“I want you to be warm,” Hikari promised her. “I like being your space heater.” She leaned in, resting her head against Miyako’s heart, enjoying the sensation of the bonds that tied them together. She could never have said which one she loved the most. There was something special about each and every one of them. “Also, I have a surprise for you. Half a surprise, at least.”
Miyako made a noise of curiosity and Hikari nudged her into the kitchen. Might as well get this taken care of. Maybe Miyako would want to help – though letting her near any knife sharper than what could be used to trim leaves or branches could be risky to life and limb.
With a quick breath she opened the refrigerator and gestured to the two lengths of dough there. Miyako looked, blinked, then looked back at her.
“Green tea cookies?”
Hikari nodded. “I wanted them to be done before you came home but – I messed up and forgot they had to chill for a couple of hours.” She wrinkled her nose. “Sorry about that.”
Miyako stared at her for a few bewildered seconds before she wrapped her arms around Hikari even tighter than before. “There’s nothing to be sorry about! I love green tea cookies! How much longer til we can cut them?”
“Maybe another hour?” Hikari checked the time; that seemed about right. “You’ve got plenty of time to relax. Did you want to get dinner while we’re waiting?”
Miyako wibbled, eyes flicking between the sofa just barely visible and the door, visibly torn between the two. Her stomach made the decision for her, rumbling fiercely. Miyako blushed even redder. It didn’t go that well with her coloring, but Hikari liked the sight of it regardless. It still put her in mind of when they’d first met and Miyako hadn’t had the faintest idea of how to think before she acted.
Sometimes she still didn’t. But she was getting better about it.
“I think that settles it,” Hikari declared when Miyako’s stomach grumbled a second time. Her own felt like it wanted to do the same thing. Lunch had been a while ago, and a Firestarter’s metabolism burned through what they ate so very quickly. “Let’s go.” She headed over to get her coat. The line would probably be long and the sooner they got there, the better.
Besides, by the time they got back and ate, it would be time to cut the cookies, and now that they would be doing it together, Hikari looked forward to it even more.
To Be Continued
Notes: Green tea cookies are often baked in Japan for the holidays. As for the fried chicken – going to KFC is also very traditional in Japan. The other chapter is already written and will be posted tomorrow. This was written for an anon request on tumblr, to have Hikari and Miyako baking together. I hope you enjoy!

[fanfic] Secret of Ears:  Chapter 1
Ken carefully arranged his hair so that it fell over his ears, checking his reflection. The tips still pointed out of his hair, but not enough that anyone would call attention to them. He nodded; just the way that he liked them.
“Why do you hide those, Ken-chan?” Wormmon asked, peering up from where he sat on the back of the toilet.
Ken rested his hands over his ears for a few seconds before he turned to look at his partner. “Haven’t you seen other humans’ ears?”
Wormmon tilted his head, considering. “Well, yes. Yours aren’t like those.”
“I know.” Ken looked back at the reflection before he reached to pick Wormmon up and settle him on his shoulders. “But that’s why I don’t want people to see them.”
His ears were just different. The skin on them was paler than the rest of his body. But that really wasn’t the problem. He wouldn’t have cared if that was the only issue. They were pointed. Far more so than anyone else’s that he’d ever seen. He could keep his hair over the ends most of the time. No one had said anything about them for ages.
Though he did remember – long ago, when he’d been young, before his hair grew out to cover them. He didn’t remember the kid’s name, but one kid he’d played with at a park had – he shuddered just at the memory before he carried Wormmon out of the bathroom and into the living room.
Daisuke lay on the couch in the living room, V-mon next to him, chatting about the latest soccer scores with Ken’s dad. His dad didn’t play soccer, but he’d learned enough about it when Ken had to keep up with Daisuke.
“Ken!” Daisuke jerked up to his feet and grinned the moment Ken entered the room, previous conversation forgotten. “What took you so long?”
Ken just shook his head, ever so carefully. Daisuke knew about his ears but he never said a word about them. He never had, not since Ken started doing his best to be a better person.
“Are you ready?” Ken asked instead of answering. Daisuke wouldn’t press. He never did.
“Sure.” Daisuke waved at Ken’s dad, who waved back at him. “We can finish later?”
“Sure!” Mr. Ichijouji nodded. “You boys have fun and behave yourselves!”
Ken fought back a blush. His parents were well aware that the two of them weren’t only best friends. He thought they were a little sad that they’d never have biological grandchildren but Ken hadn’t ruled out the idea of adopting one day. He hadn’t talked about it with Daisuke or Wormmon, though. They were fifteen. There was so much time ahead of them.
Together the four of them headed out of the building. Daisuke chattered relentlessly the whole way, about at least half a dozen different topics, and Ken knew he was only required to nod and smile at the right points. He did listen, though. He loved hearing Daisuke babble about whatever was on his mind.
Right now it was ramen – which wasn’t a surprise since they were going out to have a ramen lunch. Daisuke insisted that he would have a ramen restaurant of his own one day and he searched for ramen all over the world. Ken didn’t even remember how many times he’d been taken out for ramen anymore. At least it was delicious – and Daisuke’s own cooking got better every time.
“You know, your ears aren’t that strange,” Daisuke said without warning. Ken stumbled over his own feet, catching himself, and staring at Daisuke.
“Where did that come from?” He raised one hand to make sure his hair remained tucked over the tips, while his other made sure Wormmon remained safe. Both those situations settled in his favor, he stared at Daisuke.
“I was just thinking, that’s all.” Daisuke shrugged. “I even know someone who has ears like that. Someone who isn’t you, I mean.”
Ken blinked, mouth working but not actually having nay words come out. He shook his head. No one else had those. He would have noticed – wouldn’t he?
“Yeah. You know him too.”
Ken didn’t have the chance to ask more questions, since they came to the train and they both had to worry with getting their tickets out and finding the right train. Once they got settled on their seats, he glanced around, not wanting anyone else to overhear this. While Digimon were known and the world remained in the process of adjusting to the existence of a fellow sapient species, there were always those who weren’t happy about it. He also suspected this conversation might bring up his past as the Kaiser and he really didn’t want that to be brought up around people who didn’t know.
There weren’t that many people around them right now. One little girl had her own Digimon partner, but no one else there seemed partnered. Ken nodded to himself, then turned to Daisuke, opening his mouth.
“Ichijouji? Is that you?”
It was a voice he didn’t recognize right away. But he wasn’t surprised that people he didn’t know knew his name – the remnants of fame clung to him, thankfully more for being a Chosen these days than anything else. He turned to see a teenager lurching down towards them. He was grinning wildly and threw himself casually into the seat next to Ken.
“Yes,” Ken murmured. “I’m sorry, I don’t remember you
”
“Yeah, you probably wouldn’t,” the teenager agreed a little too cheerfully. “Tachibana Noriaki. We played together when we were kids. Before your brother -” He waved one hand in lieu of finishing the sentence. Ken held back a flinch and managed to nod. He could think about Osamu without it hurting much these days. But he still didn’t like hearing him mentioned without warning.
Tachibana regarded Daisuke carefully before he looked back at Ken. “I’ve seen you on the news. So you grew up to be a hero, huh?” He grinned at the way Ken blushed. Daisuke leaned forward.
“Was there ever any doubt? He’s the best hero!” Daisuke declared without a breath of hesitation.
Tachibana grinned, displayed teeth that looked as if he had been sponsored by a toothpaste company. “Well, when he was a kid, I wouldn’t have guessed. Little kid drawing all the time.” He shrugged before he reached over and dug one hand into Ken’s hair, grabbing onto his ear. “And with these ears -” He pulled on the tips.
Ken jerked away, eyes going wide, and Wormmon glared at Tachibana. “Stop touching Ken-chan!” He snapped, ready to spew out silk at a moment’s notice.
Tachibana tilted his head. “Man, what’s the problem? You’ve see those ears, haven’t you? How can you resist?”
“Pretty darned easily,” Daisuke snapped back. “Leave him alone.”
Tachibana drew his hand back. “If you’re gonna be that way about it. Just trying to have fun.” He snorted and got up, walking to a seat farther away from them.
Ken leaned back on his own chair, tucking his hair back over his ears, trying so very hard not to tremble and not doing a very good job of it. Daisuke rested one hand on Ken’s.
“You okay?”
Ken nodded a little. His ears weren’t just a bit larger and pointed, they were sensitive. Having someone yank on them like that would leave them red and burning for ages.
Daisuke grumbled a few words that Ken suspected his parents wouldn’t be happy to hear on his lips. They were in English, and he had a surprisingly good accent. Ken tried not to feel so very warm inside from knowing that was because Daisuke was upset over something happening to him.
Before Daisuke said anything else beyond the few profanities, both of their phones started beeping, alerting them to a text. Ken glanced at his and blinked. He hadn’t expected this at all.
“A meeting?” All of the original twelve Chosen being called together by Koushiro. He wasn’t sure of what this meant, but it had to be something important. Izumi Koushiro wouldn’t gather them all without a very good reason. “Change of plans?”
Daisuke sighed, tucking his hands behind his head and pouting. “I guess. We can hit up the ramen place afterward? If it’s not too late.”
Ken nodded. He didn’t want to lose this special time with Daisuke, no matter what the issue was.
At least they were on the right train to get to Izumi’s place. Ken wondered what they would need to talk about. Some sort of new villain? They didn’t really have regular meetings when there wasn’t someone they needed to fight. He wasn’t even sure if they’d had those when there had been. He hadn’t exactly asked back then.
He ran one hand over Wormmon’s back and tried to ignore the way his ears ached. He’d been so looking forward to having a pleasant trip to a new ramen place with Daisuke. Today wasn’t turning out to be his day.
To Be Continued
Notes: Tachibana is probably Uchiyama’s second cousin or something. Maybe I’ll make that my canon for them. Anyway, I didn’t mean this as a chaptered piece but I ran out of time and writing juice to make it a one-shot. The full hurt/comfort will be there by the end. As will how the breeds work into this. Though I’m sure you can guess, if you know what Piemon looks like. Extra Notes: As of August 5, 2020, this story is on indefinite hiatus. I intended to restart in September, but YGO GX Month came up and it gave me ideas. So, once that’s taken care of, I’ll return to my WIPs.
