one of my friends just said “we might move when we have kids but we plan to stay here until then at least” and i think this is the first time ive heard any of my friends speak so confidently about their future and it was WILD

#like good for you dude! i love that for you!#and also it’s not surprising that my friend and their partner are expecting to be together forever bc theyre such a good pair #and they’ve been together forever already (like…6+ years now)#so like the concept of them having kids someday isn’t mind blowing #but ive always heard these plans with an asterisk of like ‘assuming things continue to work out like we expect’ or something similar #and honestly i was a little surprised at how long we were tacking on that asterisk but it was still a surprise to see it gone #very happy for them tho that they feel like they’re at the point where the asterisk is not even really a necessary formality #but yeah was a very ‘god being in your 20s is weird’ moment #like. to know where you’re going to live until you have kids (which you also know will happen)#(as much as we can know anything about the future at least) is just Wild to me #very exciting for them but like. completely inconceivable that any of my friends could have that level of confidence about The Future #but here we are yk
