Feyrien is a Reaver. By the time of Veilguard, he has gone through the first phase and partially into the second phase. His sense of vengeance and rage towards Solas pushed him towards abusing the blood. (like a Templar abusing Lyrium)
I can only hope he dies so that he doesn't go into the third phase, tbqh lol.
