on a slightly bitter note, seeing this arc animated truly makes it obvious how two arcs later nothing changed at all uh. the villains will monologue for an hour about the reasons why they're fighting against the system, and then after they're done the heroes will be like: "why are you doing this?!" and then not wait for a reply and punch them with the force of a thousand suns

#the anime really portrayed this perfectly #when shigi was done speaking endvr immediately roasted him #it was anticlimatic as hell lmao #like way to make it obvious you didn't listen to a single word old man #he was talking about you but of course you didn't understand that #lmao #anyway #call me bitter but I still think that endvr being hit with a quirk bullet was the superior narrative choice there #and it's not because I wrote that in my fic lol #but it would've perfectly crowned the choice to make enji use heroism as an excuse #to not being a father #like. strip his prized quirk away from him and bam he no longer as heroism #as a suitable escape from his responsibilities #at that point he'd be forced to be just enji. just a father #but I guess hori doesn't care about that #for all the talk about needing to atone as a father and not a hero #hori sure is letting enji hide behind his hero self on a constant basis
