so like 8 years ago or something like that, i got a hearing test, because i was having trouble hearing people. After the test, the doctor who administrated the test told me that i had perfect hearing and That's That. Fast forward to three hours ago, when I was told by my mother that i have an audio processing disorder.

and she mentions it offhandedly like "oh yeah remember your audio processing disorder" and I said The Fuck I Do, and she replied "oh did i forget to tell you about the audio processing disorder you were diagnosed with 8 years ago?"

#not worm #woulda been cool to know that 8 years ago!!!#and i know some parents will not tell their kids about stuff to “not give them an excuse”#though i have NO idea how an audio processing disorder could be an excuse for anything except “hey i can't hear you can you speak up”#but it wasn't even that. she just clean forgot to tell me. for eight entire years. 2920 days. 70080 hours #also she somehow managed to describe an audio processing disorder patronizingly which i didn't even know you could do #i'm not mad about it but like #how did this never come up even once?#you'd think they'd mention it when i complained i had problems hearing to multiple doctors #AFTER the test #baffled
