talking with @jeanvanjer and we realized if some of these Harlequin authors (especially those who write for the Presents imprint imo) published longer billionaire romances outside the Harlequin umbrella and marketed them to the current gen's standards, they could make a killing.

#this came up after me reading yet another unsatisfying billionaire romance #and it's unfortunate bc this heroine isn't a babysitter/nanny/lowly copy editor #she's a lawyer (slash nepo bby but nvm that) AND half Indian #and there's a brother's best friend situation going on #but it all feels v sexless in that way where the hero's main personality trait is telling her off for wearing short dresses #while staring at her legs #and the richness of the rich people isn't convincing #like babe just because you drop “soho house” “aston martin” and “upenn alum” in the same chapter doesn't mean i'm a believer #i feel like billionaire stuff isn't as popular based on all the average joe and/or sportsball player heroes I'm seeing nowadays #but it has its niche!#and they could be great #romance novels
