I still feel so strongly about this. In my mind it'd be so cool to start a new Beast arc with the Higuchi alley ambush, with higher stakes and the reveal that a new boss took over the pm. Mori being the pm boss reveal in the main manga took place in an alley with everyone bowing before him; it'd be cool for Higuchi to parallel Morin in that: Higuchi presenting herself as a seemingly harmless and even sympathetic individual to the main character, and then the revelation of her being the new powerful boss. A thing about Higuchi's first appearance in the bsd manga is also how she openly declares war to the ada, so it'd be nice to parallel that by having Beast Higuchi do the same. And that's not even mentioning! How it'd be SO GOOD to see this flavour of Higuchi, a powerful and confident one- because Beast as a whole is a lot about stretching how the circumstances condition and shape people to be who they are, and I feel like a lot of Higuchi's insecurity and self-doubt come from her upbringing and especially being Akutagawa's assistant. It'd be great to see an Higuchi now confident and charismatic, a striking contrast to her canon counterpart.
