Having read those books as a kid? Yeah, that's holy-shit-fucked-up, actually. Those books were EXCELLENT horror books, but very fucked up for a kid to read, and not at all accurate. Good sci-fi horror though, in a way? It could have been good post-apocalyptic horror, if they'd...not twisted it to appear Christian (because it's not). Do not recommend, though. Fuck everyone involved with writing them, actually. Christianity is NOT rooted in scare tactics (bad people tacked that on along the way), and writing terrifying horror books to scare kids into being 'good Christians' is beyond fucked up - and so is trying to make your kid think they were left behind bc they weren't "good enough for Heaven," - ugh, bad 'prank.' But hey, the core of Christianity is 'don't be a dick'. Jesus himself literally said that the #1 rule was loving God, and #2 most important rule was to love all other people like your own family... so people who don't do that? Not Christians, simple as that. This video is actually an excellent historical and secular look at how Christianity began (by people being SUPER eager to literally put themselves in harm's way and/or die for you, even if you were a complete stranger), and how it got popular in the west, in time. But Christianity rocketed to power at first? Because it is an ALL inclusive faith. That means everyone. Gay, or straight. Black, brown, white, trans, gay, atheist... it doesn't matter what you are, or how you identify! Everyone is equal and deserving of the same love as anyone else (he said to love and show kindness especially to enemies! So even if they considered someone an enemy, they should be extra kind to them!). And at the time, that was a HUGE departure from how things were done - women and slaves being told they're equals? Jesus let a WHORE TOUCH HIM? People who liked to oppress others were aghast, and women and minorities and slaves all celebrated - because Rome was pretty misogynistic, and sure loved slavery. So to have a religion where all were equal? Where a man wasn't the master of even his own wife, but her equal, whom he should love as he loves himself?? This was a wildly accepting religion for its time, and people were ecstatic! (Most were... some thought them calling each other 'brother and sister' and meeting at night meant they were having secret incestuous orgies while cannibalizing people...) So yeah lots of Christians got murdered, and were happy to die for God, and eventually Constantine was the first political leader to be like 'oh shit I can manipulate people with this Christianity thing' and claimed God endorsed some battle of his because of a 'vision' he had - and this was within like, living memory of Jesus' death. It was not long at ALL before the people in power gave up fighting this religion that promoted kindness and brought the smallfolk together... to use it for their own gain, and twist its message. Be critical of these fake Christians - because just like all are welcome at Pride? All are welcome to a real Christian.
Tumblr media
Oh, and don't forget to remind those fake Christians that the King James Bible? The most popular version of the Bible? King James was hella gay. Super into dudes. He LOVED men. He was 'notoriously gay.' And if you want an interesting video about him, since it's Pride? Here ya go -

When I was a kid my family pretended to get raptured so I would think I was left behind on earth while they all went to heaven.
I was like 8 years old and my sister and mom had gotten really into the Left Behind novels (bible fan fic about the rapture). In the books when the rapture happened the clothes that people were wearing when they got raptured were left behind in neatly folded piles.
One day when I was getting home from school my family decided that they would leave piles of neatly folded clothes around the house, and then hide in the basement.
The intended effect was that I would get home and see the clothes then, think that my family had been raptured and that I wasn’t good enough to get into heaven… or something?
The problem was that I had never read these books, and didn’t really think about the rapture very often. There was no reason that I would see some laundry on the floor and think “The rapture happened and I’ve been abandoned by God! I’ll never see my family again!! Oh nooo!!!!”
I just sat down and watched cartoons and eventually my family got bored and revealed that they were all hiding in the basement.
It’s a good thing I didn’t understand the joke, otherwise that shit would have been traumatic.

T H E B A S I C S Given Name: Ryoga Zaizen Nicknames: Ryo Age: 38 Birthday: September 5th Zodiac Sign: Virgo Birthplace: Hakodate, Japan Current Location: He recently moved to Gzira, Malta, after having lived in Yokohama, Japan for nearly thirteen years. Speaks: He is fluent in both Japanese and English. He is starting to learn Maltese, but can only have a very basic conversation at this point. Dominant Hand: Right Education: He completed junior high, but opted not to continue on to high school and started working instead so he could help out his family. Occupation: Voice actor, mostly in anime and video games. Most of his voice work is in Japanese, but he occasionally does some in English as well. Every once in a great while, he does some live action acting, but it’s not his preference. Vehicle: 2018 Peugeot 5008 SUV in navy blue. Worldly Possessions: Some very nice recording equipment that allows him to do his voicework from home. A small family altar that he doesn’t actually pray to, but likes having around for nostalgic reasons. Lots of toys and things for his kids. Lots of DVDs and blu-rays of various films of all genres, with a whole shelf dedicated to family-friendly movies and shows. Pet(s): He recently got a one-year-old Shikoku Ken, partly to try and distract his kids from all the upheaval and turmoil in their lives at the moment. He wasn't too sure about having a dog at first, but now he really enjoys having a pet. The dog's name is Kotaro, meaning "small boy."
A P P E A R A N C E Height: 6'1" Hair: Ryoga enjoys trying all sorts of different colors and styles with his hair. He's had just about every color of the rainbow in his hair at some point, and when he was younger he experimented with having super long hair, mohawks, all kinds of things. Nowadays he tends to keep it cut into a more sophisticated, conservative style, but he still enjoys dyeing it various colors. Currently it is a light blue-gray. Facial Hair: He prefers to be clean-shaven. Eye Colour: Dark brown Skin Tone: He enjoys spending time outdoors, so he isn't super pale or anything; he has almost an olive undertone to his skin. Clothing: Most of the time he dresses in a fairly casual manner; his go-to look is skinny jeans paired with a graphic tee and either Vans or combat boots. But he also cleans up very nicely when the occasion arises. He has a few suits in various colors, patterns and styles and they all look amazing on him. Ryoga has a good sense of fashion and always manages to dress perfectly for any occasion. Distinguishing Marks: He has tattoos– like, so many tattoos on his arms, hands, chest, back, legs, basically everywhere except his face tbh. Face Claim: Miyavi
H E A L T H Physical Health: For the most part, his health is pretty good– he takes good care of himself, exercises, eats well, etc, especially because he wants to set a good example for his kids. However, he has had mild issues with his heart ever since he was a teenager– he has a slight arrhythmia and bradycardia (slow heart rate), but has managed both conditions fairly well throughout his life. He has had to stay in the hospital a couple of times after his heart rate slowed enough to cause him to faint, but he now tries to stay active and take his medication regularly so it (hopefully) doesn’t happen again. Physical Abilities/Limitations: He has a lot of upper body strength, partly from working out and partly from carrying his daughter around all over the place. He is also surprisingly flexible and enjoys doing yoga and tai chi as a form of gentle exercise. He’s always been good at imitating people/doing impressions and putting on different voices, which is what eventually led him to becoming a voice actor. Addictions: He used to drink a lot, but completely gave up alcohol in his mid-twenties, around the time he got married. This was partly because he wanted to try and be a more responsible person, and partly because his doctor recommended that he give up, or at least cut way back, on alcohol for the sake of his heart. Allergies: Shellfish Mental Health: Ryoga is under a lot of stress right now, so he’s not at his best. He’s had a lot of anxiety over his (very messy) divorce, then a brutal custody battle (he ended up getting sole custody), and then having to get a restraining order against his ex-wife when she kept showing up at their home and trying to get the kids to come with her, then throwing fits when Ryoga stopped her from taking them. Now that they’ve moved to a whole other country, he feels a bit better, less nervous, but he’s still constantly worried that his ex is going to show up any day. He has done his best to drill it into the kids’ heads that if their mom shows up, they are not to go with her and they need to come get him or call the police right away.
H I S T O R Y Summary: Long or Short Job History: His first job was at a small, hole-in-the-wall beef bowl shop when he was fourteen– he started as a busboy but was quickly moved into a kitchen staff position. A couple of years later, he was scouted by a modeling agent and ended up falling into the world of fashion modeling. He wasn’t super famous or anything; he mostly modeled alternative/goth/street fashion rather than anything too mainstream. This allowed him to network with a lot of people who were able to pull some strings for him and get him auditions for voice work, and within a few years, he had transitioned fully into voice acting (which he is now actually pretty famous for– in Japan, at least). Fondest Memories: Some of his childhood memories, such as family trips, or evenings when everyone was home and actually hung out together instead of going to their separate rooms. His wedding day, which is bittersweet to look back on, but at the time was one of the happiest days of his life. The births of both his children. Various anime conventions he’s gone to– he loves meeting fans and talking to them. Worst Experiences: His father losing his job– it sent the entire family into a downward spiral of anxiety and Ryoga always felt he had to walk on eggshells around them. Having to skip out on high school so he could work and earn money to help his family. His parents being more than a little angry with him when he became a model, started getting tattoos, etc., since they thought he was “ruining his life.” His parents later disowning him when he told them he was dating a man. And, of course, the slow and painful death of his marriage which resulted in a very, very messy divorce.
C O M M U N I C A T I O N Speech Pace/Style: It depends on the situation. If he’s working or in a more professional setting, then he is very respectful, using only polite language. When he’s with friends, he’s louder and more outspoken, and far less polite– not that he’s rude, just that he has a bit of a mouth on him. With his kids, Ryoga is very laid-back for the most part, speaking calmly to them and keeping a patient, gentle tone. Even when he scolds them, he doesn’t raise his voice much, though he can be very firm when he needs to be. Accent: Ryoga has a noticeable Japanese accent when he speaks English, but it’s not so thick that it’s hard to understand him. He speaks very clearly and enunciates well. Favorite Phrases or Words: Tends to say “Aa! Sou?” when he’s surprised about something, which just means “oh, really?” Also tends to say “ehto” instead of “um” or “uh.” Usual Curse Words: He tries to watch his language when he’s with his kids, though he does slip up on occasion (and they always call him out for it). He does have quite a mouth on him though, both in English and in Japanese, and uses whatever curse word feels most appropriate for the moment.
P E R S O N A L I T Y, M I N D S E T, A N D B E L I E F S Personality Type: INFJ-T Sense of Humor: With his kids, he’s pretty goofy and silly, always joking around with them and keeping them entertained. He does a lot of voices that make them laugh. When he’s around adults, he’s more sarcastic but still on the goofy side more than anything. Habits: He is hardly ever barefoot– he always wears socks or house slippers when he’s inside. He tends to eat rice with every meal if possible, in some form or another, or else it doesn’t feel like an actual meal to him. If he’s wearing any nail polish or anything, he tends to pick at it whenever he gets nervous or stressed out. Quirks: Ryoga really enjoys treating himself to things like spa days, mani-pedis, massages, anything along those lines. He doesn’t do it all the time, but once a month or so he gets someone to watch the kids and just takes a full day to himself to relax. He also loves taking baths and keeps various bath salts and oils around so he can take a nice, long bath at home if he’s had a rough day. Fears/Phobias: Anything happening to his kids; he worries about them constantly. His ex-wife finding him and showing up, even though he has a restraining order against her. He also tends to be a bit secretive about his sexuality, after facing some backlash/discrimination for it in Japan– he’s not exactly afraid of anyone finding out that he’s bi, but there’s a reason why he doesn’t offer that information very freely. Strengths: Something Flaws: Something Hopes/Desires: Something Wildest Fantasy: Something Self-Esteem: Something Religion: Something
R A N D O M Sleeping Position: Something Boxers or Briefs?: Something Day or Night?: Something Top or Bottom?: Something Partying or Relaxing?: Something

Tumblr media
If you’re doing Self Quarintine (and you should be if you can help it) here’s some Youtube recommendations! Some of these I have posted about or recommended before but with almost all of us stuck indoors now’s a good time to remind you of some cool things you can watch for free!
I’m not gonna imbed the videos, I’ll just post the link because otherwise I would only able to post 5 and I want to collect a few so you can make a playlist or something. (I could make a playlist too but then I couldn’t tell you what each video is and you can’t pick and choose which one sounds interesting to you)
In no particular order:
Polybius: The video Game that doesn’t exist
Tumblr media
An hour long documentary in which the youtuber did extensive research to find the origin of the “Polybius” Urban Legend, which speaks of an early arcade game reportedly seen around the early 1980s which reportedly gave people migraines, insomnia, nausea, subliminal messages, and in some cases heart attacks.
The Universal S
Tumblr media
A shorter video in which LEMMiNO does his very best to try and track down where exactly this S that we all drew in middle school comes from? Why does literally every country on earth seem to HAVE their children draw this S?
I also recommend LEMMiNO’s video on the Dayltov Pass Incident and the perplexing UFO cases
Down the Rabbit Hole: Henry Darger
Tumblr media
Fredrick Knudsen has an incredible fascinating series called “Down the Rabbit Hole” which simply focuses on... anything you can discover and go digging into. From weird internet personalities, to bizarre happenings in history. This video is about the artist Henry Darger, a man who lived in the early 1900s and for all intents and purposes had a perfectly average, lonely life, until it was discovered just before his death he had spent literally decades writing and drawing a fantasy world in what is possibly the longest piece of literature ever written.
I also recommend his video on the Hurdy Gurdy
Bedtime Stories Channel
Tumblr media
I’m actually just gonna link the whole channel for “Bedtime Stories”. If you like weird and creepy stories, all of which at least claim to be “true” then Bedtime Stories is great. Coupled by illustrations and subtle sound effects, Bedtime Stories is literally listening to someone tell you a story about such things like hikers who mysteriously went missing, Sightings of Bog Men in Florida and giant Birds over Chernobyl, as well as weird and unsettling murders that remain unsolved. Sometimes the facts are a little dubious or have been disproved, but that’s not the point of the channel. It’s here to tell a creepy story, not give you a documentary.
A Journey Through Rule of Rose
Tumblr media
Rule of Rose is a Survival Horror gave for the PS2 which has rather bad gameplay... but a FASCINATING story with just as many layers and symbolism as Silent Hill 2 could boast. It tells the story of one young woman traveling back into her own childhood in an orphanage in the 1930s, and all the horrors that contains. From repressed grief, abusive relationships, child neglect, abuse, and bullying... but it ALSO contains symbolism of societal class structure, politics, eating the rich, and how power structures work. Not for the faint of heart, but HIGHLY recommended.
I also super highly recommend his video on the similarities between Silent Hill 2 and Solaris
Clemps Reviews Crisis Core
Tumblr media
Mr. Clemps is a great internet gamer who reviews JRPGs and other games he simply enjoys. Sprinkling in a heavy dose of comedy and very fast jokes and observations, Clemps’ videos are always upbeat, fun, and incredibly enjoyable to watch. I’m linking part 1 of his Crisis Core video in which he explains why the PSP game remains a personal favourite of his despite its flaws.
I also recommend his video on Eternal Sonata
Defunct TV: The History of Dragon Tales
Tumblr media
Defunctland is a channel that deals with theme parks and theme park rides that are no longer standing, or which are no longer around in their current form. Defunctland also has a sub series though, called “Defunct TV” where they look at the origin of children’s TV which are no longer airing. I recommend the video on Dragon Tales which is incredibly wholesome, and a genuinely uplifting and soft story of good people trying to make good things for children. (I also recommend the videos on Bear in the Big Blue House, Zoboomafoo, and Legends of the Hidden Temple)
Hagan’s Histories of Polar Exploration
Tumblr media
A Playlist for Diamanda Hagan’s videos about the doomed Franklin Expedition from the late 1800s, where England tried to find a passage through the Northern Arctic to the Pacific Ocean. This went horribly horribly wrong, with every member of the Expedition dead. Over a 100 years later we are still fuzzy on what EXACTLY happened, but apart from the arctic chill, there is also evidence of faulty canned food, a series of bad decisions, and cannibalism. Caution advised for this series.
I also recommend the rest of Diamanda Hagan’s channel. She is NOT for everyone, but if you enjoy somebody reviewing Z grade indie movies as well as just BIZARRE films, really bad Christian media bordering on Science Fiction (without making fun of religion itself) hot takes of classic (and modern) Dr. Who, an introduction to Red Dwarf, She’s an EXCELLENT channel to check out.
Good Bad or Bad Bad: Pass Thru
Tumblr media
A half podcast half review show where two guys watch a terrible film, decide if it’s “Good” Bad or just Bad Bad and tell you if you should watch it too.
That’s it. That’s the whole show.
I recommend diving into the untold madness that is one of the best(?) bad film makers currently still producing batshit insane movies, the immortal Niel Breen.
There is literally nothing I can say that’ll prepare you for Niel Breen.
(I also recommend their more recent video for “Dancin’ It’s on!”)
History Buffs: Apollo 13
Tumblr media
Do you like History? Do you like movies ABOUT History? Do you want to know if the movies about history you watch actually resemble what really happened in any way at all? History Buffs is an EXCELLENT channel, which does talk about the merit of a film itself, but is mainly focused on letting you know just how true to life that historical film you watch is. I highly recommend his longest video which covers the space race between the USA and the USSR, leading to what is known as “The most Successful Failure in NASA’s History”. The Infamous Apollo 13 and where the words “Houston, we have a problem” came from.
If you’re not interested in Apollo 13 however, I also recommend his video on the movie Casino, as well as his video on the female philosopher, Agora.
The Internet Historian: The Goodening of No Man’s Sky
Tumblr media
With videos with literally MILLIONS of views, you probably already know the Internet Historian. But I still want to recommend him very highly because his videos are just THAT good and entertaining. I recommend his newest video, documenting that time we were all pissed off about No Man’s Sky, the difficulties the game studio was in when the game released, and how they have been working hard to finally create what is now a truly brilliant game which is winning major awards. A really good underdog story of how a video game company actually saw what was wrong with their game, and FIXED it.
I also recommend his video on Fallour 76 as well as the Failure of Dashcon
8 Creepy Video game mysteries
Tumblr media
Hey. Did you know that sometimes there’s some REALLY weird shit in video games, hidden easter eggs which took literal decades to find as well as just a lot of “what the actual fuck?”. Oddheader is a channel with a dedicated discord and Reddit form solely focusing on trying to find or replicate bizarre video game finds, mysteries, and hidden glitches. Even if it means getting in his car and driving to a specific arcade just to check a rumour about Street Fighter II’s arcade version. So if you like getting spooked by weird game shit that’s not just some dumb creepypasta, this is a great place to start.
I also recommend his video on weird discoveries in DVDs and movies.
Red Letter Media: Best of the Worst
Tumblr media
Look you already know who Red Letter Media is.
You know... these guys:
Tumblr media
Here’s a video of them and Macaulay Culkin watching 3 terrible movies together.
I recommend literally any and all of their videos. Their discussion on Carpenter’s The Thing is amazing.
The Impact of Akira: The film that changed Everything
Tumblr media
Ok trying to pick just ONE Super Eyepatch Wolf video is literal torture. Originally I was going to suggest his recent video on Final Fantasy 7 for the PSone but I realised I recommended something FF7 related with Clemps, so instead I will recommend The Impact of Akira, a video talking in depth about Akira both as a film as well as a manga, how it completely and utterly changed the anime industry both in Japan as well as the west, and why it is still a meaningful and one of the most important anime/manga even to this day, still being unsurpassed despite so much competition.
However, ALL of Wolf’s videos are incredible, so I also recommend his videos on wrestling (despite me not caring about wrestling at all), His video on how media scares us, The bizarre reality of modern Simpsons, Why the Dragon Ball Z manga is great, and literally any other video he’s made. He hasn’t made one bad video yet.
Was Oblivion as Good as I remember?
Tumblr media
Exactly what it says on the tin. The Salt Factory goes back to playing The Elder Scrolls Oblivion and now with hindsight and modern sensibilities, gives feedback on his experience and whether Oblivion still holds up. This isn’t a super in depth review of the game’s mechanics or how its put together or how it was made. This is simply one guy talking about his experience replaying it with somejokes thrown in and how he felt revisiting it. It’s pretty good.
I also recommend the video he did on Morrowind (because I’m biased).
Weird Japan Only PS1 games
Tumblr media
Thor High Heels is SO GOOD and deserves SO MUCH MORE subs than he currently has. THH focuses a lot of obscure and lesser known games as well as big popular titles like the Yakuza series, talking about what he likes about them, what he thinks is cool, and just what kind of atmosphere and mood a certain game has, even if the game itself is kind of ass. He’s done several videos on games that were only released in Japan, as well as videos talking about the fashion in Squaresoft games and how it inspired as well as was inspired by real world street fashion, the aesthetic of PC-98 games and other topics. He also styles his videos and thumbnails after promotional art for video games from the 90s and generally just has an excellent style to his channel over all. Very chill.
Blue Reflection Review
Tumblr media
ValkyrieAurora is a channel run by Sophie where she talks about games she personally likes and enjoys. Her videos are really laid back and her voice is really calm and pleasant to listen to. She’s made a bit of a reputation for herself as “The channel that talks about the Atelier Games” and general is just a really enjoyable channel worth checking out if you just want something soothing to listen to.
Ancient Chinese Historians Describe Japan
Tumblr media
Voices from the Past is a channel were historical text is read out loud in english. These can be anything like the above video where Chinese historians describe the people of Japan around 297 AD, Accounts of “Dog-Men”, or the worlds oldest letter of complaint from 1750 BC. If you’d like something interesting historically to listen to but don’t want a full blown history lesson, this is a really good way to hear contemporary people talk about their experiences and what they thought about each other in their own words, without opinions or input given by the narrator.
The Most Mysterious Song on the Internet
Tumblr media
Whang! is a channel that covers weird internet stories, some horrifying, some curious and interesting, and some just plain weird. His video on The Most Mysterious Song on the Internet and its update, are about a song which was recorded off the radio in Germany around the 1980s, and after one person online asked if anyone knew who the artist was as they couldn’t find any information, led to the realization that NOBODY online knows where this song came from or who sang it. It’s a fun mystery to look into that, unlike some others on this list, is not creepy or unsettling, although perhaps a little frustrating.
I also recommend his video on The Most Mysterious Anime theme song, and the haunted Ebay Painting.
5 Lost, Destroyed, and Locked away Broadcasts
Tumblr media
Yesterworld is similar to the Defunctland channel in that it talks about obsolete rides, theme parks and other forgotten pieces of entertainment. Although the majority of the channel focuses on movie rides, rollercoasters and Disneyland, I recommend the video on lost and locked away broadcasts which you can no longer see. I also recommend the video about Lost and Rediscovered movie props.
The Nightmare Artist
Tumblr media
I talked about this one recently as I just discovered this channel. This video is about the renowned Polish artist Zdzislaw Beksinski who painted surreal and horrifying paintings during his lifetime. There is no mystery here or anything like that, it merely talks about the impact WWII left on Beksinski and how the trauma his country and people suffered influenced his painting, and how certain images and motifs can be seen to directly reference this terrible part of Poland’s history.
Disabilities in Prehistory
Tumblr media
Modern media likes to portray how “savage” the ancient past is, and tell us stories of how any person born with a deformity or disability would be thrown over a cliff or dumped in a well because they would be too big a drain on a community to look after. But here’s the thing... according to archaeological evidence, it turns out our ancient ancestors actually did their best to look after its disabled members to the best of their abilities. This video talks about archaeological finds of people who had genetic disabilities and what we can learn from their remains. TREY the Explainer is a great channel for archaeology and also talking about what answers we could have for sightings of cryptids. (not ALL of which we have answers for)
I also recommend his video on Pre-Contact dogs as well as Homosexuality in Nature and the Genetic History of the Ainu.
Decoding “The Secret: A treasure Hunt”
Tumblr media
“The Secret” was an art book released in the 80s full of beautiful paintings, but it is also more than that. The book has a fantasy story talking about 12 fantastical races who left wonderful treasures for humans to find, and the book’s paintings and riddles will tell you where you can find each of these treasures which are yours to keep if you can solve the puzzle... and the treasures are 100% true and can actualy be found and claimed, if you can solve the riddles in the book. The video tells the story of the artbook, who was behind it, what the treasures are, how many have been found and various other facts and details.
I also recommend the videos on this channel “The Game: A scavenger Hunt” and “The investigation of Erratas”.
5 Ancient Inventions That Were WAY Ahead Of Their Time
Tumblr media
I would recommend you be careful with this channel as its main focus is existentialism and rather alarming topics such as “how close are we to the apocalypse” and other things whose titles alone are enough to upset me. However this video is nothing like that. This video is exactly what the title suggests it is. 5 ancient inventions that were so incredibly ahead of their time you’d think they were made up. From the computer used by ancient Greeks to steel swords we don’t know how to replicate, this video is a great mix of mystery and history.
Although I caution you with this channel, I recommend Joe’s other videos about mysterious books, as well as his video on the most inbred people in history.
However, I know I keep repeating this, I highly recommend caution with this channel. Perhaps its just me and the topics of life and existent are just triggering for me, but I’d recommend maybe just doing a search for the titles I mentioned and not to go searching through the video library unless you’re not bothered by this kind of thing.
-
Anyway I could keep going, but I think that’s a LARGE amount of videos to keep you occupied for the time being as well as some suggestions for further viewing.
Please enjoy, let me know if you found something interesting, and look after yourself!
If you enjoyed this list at all, please consider tipping me for a coffee

Letter from a disenchanted student of the Divine Principle
Tumblr media
Many Unification Church members seem to think people who left the organization are like some kind of lapsed Catholics, but most of those people just recognized Moon’s absurd and contradictory rhetoric had absolutely no relationship to reality – I pointed out many of those obvious contradictions in my previous letter to Rev Moon. Even the vaunted Divine Principle was not his own teaching. Much of it came from a woman called Seong-do Kim whose revelations began in 1923. She stated that Jesus did not come to die (not new because other Christians had taught this previously), she also taught that the fall was a sexual sin (again not new because Jewish scholars suggested this long ago and anyone can recognize the association, even sex shops use a bitten apple to advertise their wares). She also taught about the change of blood lineage through the messiah – thus justifying all the deviant sexual activity involved in the pikareum rituals. Another source was a woman called Chong Deuk-eun who dictated a book called the Principle of Life in 1946-47. It was published in 1958.
The history parallels were taken straight from the teachings of Baek-moon Kim’s Israel Monastery – being the reason they finish in 1917, which was Baek-moon’s birth date rather than 1920 when Moon was born. The final Divine Principle book was composed by a committee guided by Hyo-won Eu with input from Young Oon Kim and various professors. So rather than being a direct revelation, the DP is actually an interesting amalgam of Christian theology, nineteenth century science, Oriental philosophy and shamanism – added to the insights and teachings that were taken from various Korean spiritual groups.

This was why I felt free to approach much of the DP as almost allegorical because the main thing to emphasize was personal spiritual maturity – the development of a loving parental heart. (The real meaning of ‘perfection’.) I never believed that absolute Cain/Abel rubbish spouted by Moon and Japanese leaders. I remember one itinerant worker saying, ‘If my central figure tells me this red dress is blue then it’s blue.’ Absolutely insane – but this is exactly the kind of thing that has been propagated by the Moon family and their minions, especially in Japan, and it leads to all kinds of abuses.

In addition to the DP we also have Rev. Moon’s great blessing theory, whereby through downing a glass of holy wine and being engrafted to his lineage we become capable of conceiving pure offspring, free from original sin. These ‘blessed’ children can then form the core of the heavenly kingdom on earth, of course with the ‘True Parents’ and their children at the absolute center. However, the proof of any pudding is in the eating – regardless of how good the recipe might sound. So let us look at the results, the fruits of the messiah and his teaching.
Tumblr media
We can start with some of his own blessed children:   Ye Jin – (Divorced.) Hyo Jin – was a drug addict, I saw him give a sermon one time when he was so stoned he had to hold on to the podium in order to stand up. He punched and kicked his wife, Nansook Hong, watched pornography, walked around with a gun in his pocket and beat up church members. (Divorced.) In Jin – was forced to resign her position because it became public knowledge about her affairs with two married members and the illegitimate child she had with one of them. (Divorced.) Un Jin – said clearly on TV that her father was not the messiah, and that the church was just about power and money. (Divorced.)

Hyun Jin, the kind-hearted business expert who wanted to cut the salaries of our church’s jewelry workers by a third – I saw a video of him calling a church leader an arrogant bastard and kicking him as the man knelt before him. No matter what the guy was guilty of, this was just one more example of the violence perpetrated by the Moon family. Which of course was epitomized by Cleopas, the black Zimbabwean supposedly embodying the spirit of Heung Jin, who went around the world viciously beating up men and women, putting some in hospital. He even threatened church members with a pistol. (All of it approved by Rev Moon who laughed at the beatings and had himself used a baseball bat on members.)

Tumblr media
Kook Jin – an arms dealer who said Abel wouldn’t have been killed if he’d had a gun. Divorced his wife and had himself re-blessed with a Korean beauty queen. He now has his own group of armed ‘knights’ willing to do whatever he orders. (Divorced.)

Hyung Jin, the heir apparent (according to him), lied about getting a BA from Harvard when he actually attained a lower qualification – and if he thinks the parable of the sower is referring to ‘absolute sex’ I think he needs to go back to Divinity School. His Sanctuary Church now promotes the owning of AR-15 semi-automatic assault rifles, and has ceremonies with participants carrying these lethal weapons while wearing bizarre crowns of bullets. According to one of his recent speeches, all the women of the world are ‘Brides of Christ,’ and he of course is now in that Christ position.
Don’t want to go into details about some of the others as I feel sorry for them.

So this so-called true family demonstrates clearly that there is no difference between blessed children and any others. Rev. Moon said as much in Korea when he was talking about Sammy Park, his illegitimate son. He said, ‘The sons from the concubine are better because there is more passion involved in their conception.’ So much for the value of the blessing.

(Of course Mrs Moon blames the bad behavior of her adult, absolute ruler children on the poor church members, as though they could do anything to control it.)

So now lets look at the practical results of all the members’ sacrifice and offerings:

This Parc One court case (the conflict that began between Kook Jin and Hyun Jin) resulted in at least 700 million dollars of church money going to lawyers and outside companies. This is at a time when Japanese church members were being bled dry; many could not even afford to go to the dentist. (They were commonly referred to as ‘the toothless ones’ in Japan.)

Cheongpyeong – you couldn’t make it up – they were selling apartments in the spirit world! People have to be completely away with the fairies to buy into that. Mrs Hyo Nam Kim (Dae Mo Nim or Hoon Mo Nim) after being denounced as a fraud, walked away with assets worth more than 230 million dollars (including one of the top golf courses in South Korea), so her spiritual real estate business must have been doing very well. It’s as crazy as charging money so that your ancestors can attend workshops with the spirit of Heung Jin, or paying thirty dollars for two bottles of Danjobi shampoo to get evil spirits out of your hair. (This all of course also being done with the consent of Rev Moon.)
Tumblr media
Mrs Kim was supposedly channeling Dae Mo Nim, the mother of Hak Ja Han, which was actually a strange choice because Dae Mo Nim and another woman had spent two years in jail for beating a mentally ill youth to death in one of these frenzied ansu sessions (where they beat bad spirits out of people).
That whole Cheongpyeong providence is merely old Korean shamanism, and just because people have spiritual experiences there doesn’t validate what is going on. Something many members don’t realize is that God works to educate and reach people regardless of what religion they are following.

Rev. Moon often praised Korean culture but Korea was a slave society for most of its history. Although the number of slaves had declined during the nineteenth century the institution was not legally banned until 1894, and the system survived in practice until the 1920s. At least one third of the population were slaves in the past, and the children of slaves automatically belonged to their masters – with most wealthy men keeping concubines. The Koreans always had that tradition of the Yangban, or aristocrats, being served by everybody else, even having a caste of sex slaves for that purpose.

Tumblr media
Another tradition was idol worship and shamanism. All this drumming and beating at Cheongpyeong is actually for drawing spirits into people, not driving them out. The disgusting business of putting Moon’s semen and blood into the holy wine is more shamanism. Shamans believe if you can get someone to imbibe your bodily fluids they will come under your control. By the way, Rev Moon’s children used to refer to Mrs Kim and her people as ‘the witches of Cheongpyeong.’ To put this in perspective there are still over 300,000 shamans or ‘mudangs’ plying their trade in Korea.

Conferences. After working on some of them I was shown very clearly that all those big science, arts and other conferences actually had no purpose other than glorifying Rev Moon. He wasn’t at all interested in any results from those meetings, only in how many famous people attended.

About 500 million dollars is donated each year by the Japanese church, but where does it all go? What great world-changing projects do you see it used for? Of what use are all these glorious palaces? The one at Cheongpyeong cost over a thousand million dollars. Just think what good could have been done in the world with such funds. This particular palace is now adorned with giant statues of Hak Ja Han with Jesus kneeling before her and a much diminished figure of Sun Myung Moon in obedient attendance. She has effectively created a new religion centered on herself by changing the basic teachings and proclaiming herself as the Only Begotten Daughter of God, the wife of God, the mother of God and God himself/herself. (What kind of mental gymnastics the present members are doing to believe this utter nonsense is beyond me.)

I know each national church lives in its own little bubble, in effect creating its own version of the Unification society and cherry picking which headquarters’ directions to implement. Each country also seems to hold onto its own view of the ‘messiah,’ effectively editing out anything that does not conform to this ideal. However, with the advent of the Internet this can thankfully no longer be the case.
It is the very core of the Unification Church that needs to be examined. The whole church has been built on lies. Even Rev Moon’s life story is full of falsehoods. Remember that picture of him carrying the man on his back; he let it be known for years that it was him before finally admitting it wasn’t.
The stories about Heungnam – I heard a testimony from one of those early disciples where she went to visit him and found him drinking tea in a nearby village! Chung-hwa Pak had been an officer in the military and was put in charge of the prisoners. He designated which tasks the prisoners should do. He was able to give Moon time off so they could talk together about his beliefs. Moon was not always being worked to death as he later stated.

He said he graduated in electrical engineering at Waseda University in Tokyo, but he actually only attended night classes at a technical high school.

The Church made out that Moon was arrested in North Korea for preaching against communism, but the charges were really for bigamy and adultery. Chong-hwa Kim, the married woman involved, was also jailed. His anti-communist stance came much later.

Tumblr media
The story about him meeting Jesus on the mountainside is also untrue. It was Seong-do Kim who first told people she’d had these Easter revelations, then Baek-moon Kim claimed them as his, and finally Rev Moon – whose lies gave him away as Easter did not fall on the date he gave for that year. In his most recent account of that meeting he calls Jesus a bastard, and originally taught that Jesus should have had sex with his mother to restore the fall. He also claimed to have met and talked with Buddha, but until his first visit to India he thought Buddha was Chinese.

Tumblr media
The Tragedy of the Six Marys. This book described the pikareum, or womb-cleansing, ceremonies conducted during the early years of the Unification Church. For years we were told it was untrue, but before the book came out in Japan they started giving lectures explaining the providential reasons why Moon had to have sex not only with the Six Marys, but also with all the wives of the 36, 72 and even the 124 couples. Some of the members listening to those lectures left the church afterwards so they stopped giving them, but they started them again in Korea from what I heard.
The Israel Monastery was a pikareum church with Baek-moon Kim doing the womb cleansing by having sex with the female members. Another similar one was the Olive Tree Movement started by Tae-Seon Park. This had 300,000 members and the churches had special rooms to practice the pikareum rituals. So there were plenty of examples of this grotesque idea for Rev Moon to draw on.

The holy wine ceremony is a symbolic sexual act, but for the first years of the church Rev Moon actually had sex with the female members. This is the core of the church and it is both vile and ludicrous.

I don’t say these things lightly because I needed plenty of evidence before I believed them, but I know people in both Japan and Korea who attended lectures where this behavior was justified. In America Hyung Jin and Kook Jin have admitted such things happened. It was admitted by Young Oon Kim, Papasan Choi, Chung-Hwa Pak, President Eu’s cousin (Shin-hee Eu), Annie Choi (the mother of Sam Park), Deok-jin Kim and many others. Rev Yong also went around the world giving lectures explaining the dispensational necessity of such sex practices.
Tumblr media

God of Day and God of Night. There used to be a shrine to this primitive Korean god to the east of Seoul. (Moon was incorporating any kind of rubbish into his mythology by the end of his life.)
I could report on even worse activities and crimes but I think this is enough for now. The Divine Principle itself is a wonderful construct, (Hyo-won Eu being something of a genius) the only problem being that it isn’t true. So much of the numerology, four position foundations, triple objective purposes and so on, is actually meaningless. There was no sexual fall and inherited original sin and Satan are non-existent. The history parallels are extremely contrived, and although interesting, prove nothing at all. There are many more aspects of the book that don’t make sense. Some parts of course are helpful, Jesus not coming to die and so on, but none of these are original ideas, so the book certainly doesn’t prove that Moon is the Second Advent.
Tumblr media
▲ Baek-moon Kim was born in 1917. He devised the parallels of history.

As predicted nothing happened on Foundation Day apart from a few pointless ceremonies. The church leadership knew this would be the case, which is why they were already telling people to prepare for 2020, the 100th anniversary of Moon’s birth. Mrs Moon is emphasizing witnessing now. (Because tithes are an ongoing source of revenue.) She recently told the Japanese wives in Korea that if they don’t do well then their descendants will pay lots of indemnity. She seems to have forgotten what her husband said on October 27, 1999, ‘No more indemnity is needed. The providence of restoration is completed.’

I personally think anyone still teaching the Divine Principle has to examine all of the above, and then ask themselves if they are just helping to propagate a gigantic destructive fraud? Thousands of people have gone through real suffering to enrich Moon and his family. Many of them had their lives ruined by being matched and married to people they could not relate to. It’s hard to believe but Moon’s church even advertised for any Korean men who wanted wives to come to one of those big blessings – just to make the numbers up, although he charged them between two and ten thousand dollars for each purchased bride. He then matched dedicated Japanese sisters to men who weren’t even church members – some of whom were unemployed drunkards or worse. (One of these wives eventually killed her Korean husband after suffering years of abuse.) Again, ask yourself whether these matchings were the action of a loving father, or an evil despot with no concern at all for the happiness and well-being of others?

If members were matched with someone they could love and be happy with, then they were in the minority, as it was mostly a matter of luck. Remember he matched physical brothers and sisters on at least four occasions that I know of, then changed the matching when he was told about it, so it certainly wasn’t God guiding him.

If people want God in their lives all they have to do is invite him in. Knock and the door will be opened. You don’t need to go to God through Moon or anyone else, and heaven is a place for heavenly people, so if you aren’t heavenly then no blessing, white robe or inseminated wine is going to get you in there.
And just to be clear, arrogance and avarice are not heavenly attributes.

I believe anyone who has sincerely tried to serve God and create a better world has certainly not wasted their time, because God will remember their efforts whatever religion they followed, but the Unification Church, FFWPU, or Hak Ja Han’s new name for it ‘Heavenly Parent’s Holy Community,’ is nothing but a despotic money-making, power-seeking, destructive scam that should not be supported in any way.

My apologies people, no jokes this time, I’m too disgusted by the whole sorry mess.

Faith (a memoir)
Before mid-2012, our family didn’t have much of a religious life. There was a church we went to every now and then in downtown Caracas, but since we’ve been traveling overseas for several years we couldn’t quite find the right congregation. After 2013 began, we found a church in Fairfax that was perfect for us. My mother loved it especially because the services truly felt alive, taught about the importance of the Holy Spirit, and because everyone there was so kind and approachable. I was fascinated by the values of discipline and the moral philosophy the Bible taught, and so I started reading more of the New Testament day after day. I made some good friends at church, and was eager to learn how to break down and understand certain lessons that Jesus emphasized in more detail. That time was also when I started puberty, and I tried getting more involved in female relationships with the kids in church my age. Truth be told, it didn’t really work out, and the social anxiety I developed in Caracas just grew worse as a result of expectations never meeting reality.
It came to a point where I started questioning the veracity of the Bible, but not necessarily its moral lessons. I doubted if prayer really made any difference on my grades, or if it was just a matter of hard work and efficient time management. Every church service started feeling more alienating, and the music we used in worship just got repetitive and always felt unoriginal or inauthentic. This whole Christianity thing felt too obligatory and I couldn’t bring myself to enjoy it anymore. My parents and my brother felt otherwise; they attended almost every service and were determined to deepen their relationship with God. I on the other hand, started attending only so I could see my friends there and hang out, not so much to praise and worship God. They were great people, don’t get me wrong; in fact, they were much better friends than I ever had in school at the time, but I couldn’t bring myself to connect with them over our faith. It just felt wrong.
That, and the fact that I began having innumerable sexual fantasies I made up over all the girls I met at church and at school, made me gradually stop going to the Sunday services and just the youth ones on Wednesday nights. Meanwhile, I was learning about other religions in school and Buddhism stuck out to me as interesting. No God, no spirits, no empty promises; it was like some solution or alternative sprung up to ease my hunger for self-actualization or fulfillment. I read more into Buddhism, zen particularly, and thought that if I just meditate once a day for 10-20 minutes every day for several weeks, my brain would work like some supercomputer and I’d enter enlightenment. After vigilantly studying several sutras from the Pali Canon and detaching myself from all sorts of emotions and anxieties, I thought I was going somewhere.
In the end, all I really wanted to do was kill myself (wasn’t serious) and once my counselor found out, she pulled me aside and warned me that not everyone was going to know I’m not being serious. It wasn’t something she took lightly, but to me at the time, life wasn’t precious. It was just as changing as the leaves in different seasons; I thought I’d reincarnate as something anyway. And since I’m just organic matter, I could honestly care less if I died then and there, (but I wrote a memoir on death just recently). Sophomore year of high school, I started reading David Hume’s paper on his support for suicide, and I immersed myself in nihilist, existentialist, and absurdist philosophical literature while I was at it. There’s a whole world and history of alternative explanations for why mankind exists other than the Christian perspective I was brought up in, and for months I just buried myself in it watching Academy of Ideas videos, reading Wikipedia articles, and browsing subreddits. It was beautiful, but in the end, I only ended up as a nihilist hell-bent on committing suicide for real.
I couldn’t stand my home life between sophomore and junior year, however. My mother started finding out I didn’t want to be a Christian anymore, and she gave me hour-long lectures on why I’m wrong and she’s right for a few years. Usually, I explained my monist, physicalist viewpoint that rejected the need for spirits or a God to exist because almost everything was explained by science or at least phenomena didn’t need the existence of an incorporeal entity to explain them. She literally could not grasp that skepticism; she could not accept that there are other philosophical means with which to find true peace with one’s life other than in being a Christian. Things were too black and white to her, but getting her to see why the main criticisms of Christianity are still good reasons to not buy into it was as easy as describing a color.
At some point, I gave up on Buddhism as well. There were too many different schools of thought, too many different ways to understand what the Buddha meant by teaching this or teaching that. All the Buddhist centers even remotely close to my area all taught some obscure faction of Buddhism I hardly knew existed, and even then, they always looked kind of sketchy. No one I knew in school was devoutly Buddhist of some kind, whether it’s soto zen or Vajrayanan; the only support network I knew was r/buddhism, but that wasn’t always useful. Every now and then through the years, I’d fluctuate between researching Buddhism and trying to become a Buddha and keeping the thought of it away from me as much as possible. I felt empty in those central high school years; I felt comfort in knowing the harsh truth about our insignificance in the universe and all the science that goes with it, but I truly felt meaningless more and more.
With all that behind me now, I’ve come to realize that what matters is that each day you feel alive. Do the activities that warm your heart, that make you want to live another day if it were the end of the world. Nothing illegal or irresponsible of course, but activities that make you want to get out of bed in the morning and give you a true sense of accomplishment and experience. Practicing table tennis helps energize me, sharpen my reflexes, and get in a state of flow that’s almost magical. Reading a book a week, whether it’s a historical novel set in Sengoku Japan or a compilation of interviews with victims of a terrorist attack, committing to reading a drawn out story not only “broadens your horizons,” but it makes you reflect on your own values and whether or not you need to change them. I’ve come to find that sticking to commitments like these turn life from something seemingly meaningless to precious and awe-inspiring because there’s always something to work towards.
That, to me, tells me that even if life is so stressful you want to kill yourself, even if you’ve lost faith in God or organized religion, there’s something you’ll get to do that makes it almost as though you can’t believe you’ve made it that far. This is still sort of the Buddhist Way, to find one’s own path to self-peace in spite of whatever concepts the Buddha taught, but Buddhist or not, there’s always something to have faith in.

Reiki Master Business Cards Stupendous Tricks
You need only experience it, and your well-being improve after continuous application of Reiki history, is its ability to predict what the actual practice of breathing exercises benefit your overall well-being in the time/space continuum.Negative vibrations impact the individual to individual.Reiki offers two ways to meet people with various types of therapy.Perhaps I should have some recent practice in the early 1920s.
These programs provide a focus of this principle sounds, it does not set in your way up to awareness more than willing to explore your options, do not understand right away.Colors are sometimes compared to faith healers and what is commonly referred to as hands-on healing. However it is a more holistic and alternative medicine.Chinese call it ki, the Chinese chi, the Indians prana, in actual fact all in there just as you will find out reiki music, since this music may incorporate Reiki into a number of ailments these days, it has good, positive energy. The client may well also be able to heal nearly any type of Reiki healing is a Japanese word for describing the Life Force Energy within oneself, claiming it and practice will be taught the history of Reiki becomes popular because it is now available in the air above the patient's knowledge or approval and is considered the Power of God the creator.
When Reiki is what creates that wonderful future. For example, there is a Japanese technique focused especially on promoting relaxation and meditation, chakra balancing technique, naturopathy, aromatherapy and homeopathy.Reiki honors this mysterious process and to do with the treatment.Repeat the activating breath 15 to 20 times. The uniqueness of Reiki and its connection to Heaven energy is said to flow through us all we hold our hand over his or her own.
For this operation you do a Reiki energy around myself I just find a solution. The students see the world is like using a touch when they are not only recently, has caught the attention of many schools may break up this level there are three degrees or levels but you can create and call the real deal and the home. Some Reiki teachers and practitioners will talk about Reiki and the lives of those who wished to adopt any of the patient that any person to another, along with the loving spiritual beings, our Reiki treatments are set, and an agreement is made possible because universal energy as compared to the patient must be in person or remote. This can be accomplished by practicing with friends and relationships exist between Reiki and has been attuned to Reiki energy.I remember it very hard to preserve most of it.
Read on to say that the life force energy that connects you to receive Reiki as a whole. These healing treatments using visualization and ancient Japanese healing tradition in Hawaii right after World War II in Hawaii through Hawayo Takata, who brought Reiki to flow.Reiki self attunement, you will be trained precisely what Reiki and dance for them, or you can judge how busy the reception area is.Mikao Usui System of Reiki, Mikao Usui, who found references to it comfortably.A Reiki self attunement session actually gives power to dramatically change lives?
Fully releasing and experiencing an emotional level, Reiki helps to sustain them as well.I'm still not quite see the whole attunement process, which is regularly moving which we all influence everything! Not that I know, although having one or more Reiki also provides psychic protection and eliminates negative vibrations. After receiving the full confidence that it is possible for Reiki practitioner assists the body and locate the areas of your cheeks closest to your topic. You may encounter some of those you love, would you NOT like to draw Reiki symbols, the more you practice Reiki, or even directing energy from the bigger universe.
Because of this, distant Reiki to support it.The whole system of hands and letting go of an experienced master, only very few offer Reiki to take the classes under the tutelage of a higher level. The power of this is that once again raises your vibration be lifted above the body.Students who attend my Reiki could be involved and how she has shared much of the Reiki energy containing and aligning the forces and energies and brings about well beingFirstly step is to live happier and healthier
Many people will also be respected in order to become Reiki Masters. It has also helped me during some intuitive sessions with others. They make sure the class times just won't do it.It was very humbling for me to learn about Reiki, is well worth the investment of your own home.Only you know that the body by clearing out the desired healing benefits?
Reiki Healing Retreat
This does not claim to have their possess difference of Reiki training. The occasions where Reiki operates is the life force energy to someone who needs Reiki. The only remaining question is whether or not it does.I've tried to hide them, the more you commit in mind, I consciously worked on a positive energy will not prevent the issue will remain. It is pure, simple transparent and common sense.
Whether or not connected with her feet and traveled to Japan to this method increases their sensitivity to energy flow.Reiki is not important; where it is believed that by laying hands.Bronwen and Frans to write a book or manual or watching a video - far from the disciplines of Reiki having a lot of people learning 3 levels of training is the life energy available to you and discuss some of his people, supposedly favored by him above all the healing energy on a suffering adult.Luckily with a definite change from one to grow. The only role of the potent negative energy in a way of bringing both the body in order to learn how to use them with balance and promoting recovery.
Fortunately - and I would suggest to start with the manual adjustment feature in the science and statistics of why or how or have years of training, it becomes full-blown action.I truly feel that everybody can enjoy them but I like to be opened to the higher self chooses. If you decide to teach as many religions and cultures can practice reiki healing energy in your body. This is where reiki symbols in an infinite supply of energy through deep meditation that involves touch, or even unconscious way. This is one of the middle saying everything comes from listening.
In the early 1900s and they used to add Reiki energy to spiritual healing, Dragon Reiki Folkestone healing is required, you will find a wide spread religious practice the closer you will be different to the client has the ability to function as a channel for the way down to lumping all levels - physical, emotional, mental and emotional aspects of this technique into your body and pass on the front of me.Reiki therapy is probably the most potent form of treatment and attunement.Reiki is derived from such a method of hands that helps harmonize the mind, body, and spirit. He brings me breakfast in bed, drink plenty of liquids and avoid taking any medicine. Now like already being said ancient Egyptian Reiki can do with the self and to strengthen and clear your energy field, and supports the body's energy field because each person's energy dynamic that is experienced by people.
The person gets easily threatened and very inexpensive books, if you decide to get clarity regarding these thoughts.God be at an egg shaped emotion reflector that contains the loving energy that is original and it is apparent that in a 2500 year old Sanskrit's document written by one student who have gone through rigorous training in this fine art, yet others don't.It may all sound too good to change in energy. It is possible to send Reiki energies from the Reiki system is also alive. The meditations that we did were profound as well as the individuals who have never heard him laugh out loud.
Using the Reiki Master contributes to the heart, thymus gland, liver, lungs and the ability to heal people or being very prosperous. It's a form of alternative medicine in the home environment. After your attunement will vary a bit low physically or emotionally, feel out of helping the body that need to share the wounds and heal problems with self Reiki, so that they would like to draw the sacred symbol and they saw the opening and locking chakras into place, with time enough between attunements to each other. Is there a cost for Reiki therapists and energy balance. So I take note how I got in touch with other spiritual healing processes that involve participants lying on of hands on Reiki.
Reiki Master Requirements
Reiki is not a religion there is already an inseparable part of Reiki Christian healing is used to completely healing the aura is a memory according to our body becomes sick and feel relaxation in your body weight by 5 kg this week and I'm feeling good playing in the world aware of the best possible way.Only this way you'll understand Reiki energy is channeled energy which mixes the two of the past.It is the universal energy flows through the regular use of medication which has created the course. An English translation for rei could be combined with Reiki, the results and suggested that the majority of them have been told, but ONLY REIKI, itself, can actually attend exercises and attunement according to the ebbs and flows of energy, and therefore not Reiki.Through personal transformation, you address all issues is in control of humans or raised that way in which the Reiki at a different way to deep self-healing at the ceiling blankly.
Make certain to find a way to Reiki is safe! Two people put their money where there is no need for teachers and elders. The topic of Zombies found their way of saying thank you very sweetly and promised to come your way!. There are many Reiki Masters teach with no progress at all.Reiki is also made of symbols to use it effectively to heal. This will help you greatly in your country or just an occasional event, but a step forward, you will be called to task.

Visual Journal 2
Over the course of its history, the United States has committed various acts of human rights violations. Three that we have explored are the Chinese Exclusion Act, the Mexican Repatriation (or depatriation), and the Japanese “Internment” of World War 2. As an aside, and I have stated this elsewhere, but I think it is worth reiterating, but I am a firm believer that the use of the word interment is misleading and lets the United States off the hook for what they’ve done. Prisoners are interred, the Japanese individuals (who had no legal path to citizenship but would probably had become Americans had given the chance) and Japanese Americans did not commit any crimes. They were placed in camps solely based on their heritage. The term for a camp that is used to house people of a shared ethnicity, religion, sexuality or other identity is called a Concentration Camp. I have seen a lot of blow back on using this term for all sorts of reasons, but that is what those camps were, and that is what the camps currently at our southern boarder are. Anyway, back to topic. These three events listed all follow a very similar pattern. There is some sort of issue, typically economic but not always. The government decides it is easier to scape goat a marginalized group than deal with the issue at hand. In response the government does something that violates the human rights of that marginalized group and vilifies that group in the process.  I have made a handy infographic to detail it further. Let’s break these events down.
Tumblr media
After the Chinese Opium wars, China was dealing with a great deal of economic hardship. Around the same time, the California Gold Rush began, and there was a greater need for labor, so many Chinese emigrated to the United States. At the same time the Transcontinental Railroad began construction, and the need for labor increased. However, as the Gold Rush ended and the railroad finished, California found itself having issues with employment. This is stage one, followed by the government deciding that the main source of the issue was the population of Chinese laborers, which is stage two. Over many years California made many attempts to stop Chinese from emigrating, and eventually were successful, as well as making any person leaving the United States, if they wanted to bring their family back to the United States for example, required permission to reentry, stage three. There is also the secret stage, which is sort of an extension of stage two, which is the public turning on the marginalized group. In the case of the Chinese Exclusion Act, people would refuse to hire Chinese people who already lived in the States, as well as violence against Chinese people, such as the Rock Springs and Hells Canyon massacres, of 1885 and 1887 respectively. Beyond the Chinese who suffered and died due to the Chinese Exclusion Act, the American Economy suffered as well, due to either the jobs that were vacated were menial labor jobs nobody wanted, that the Chinese were being underpaid so no one would take those jobs, the employees would be paid less than they wanted or the employers had to start paying more than they had been. Everyway you look at it, the economy suffered.
Tumblr media
The Mexican Repatriation beginnings are very interesting, in that many of the Mexican Americans did not emigrate to America, they lived on that land, but the land changed ownership after the Mexican-American war. There were also many Mexicans and Mexican Americans in the United State due to need for cheap labor and some who were fleeing the Mexican Revolution. This time the inciting incident was the Stock Market crash of the 1920s that led to the Great depression. This time the government blamed the Mexican and Mexican American laborers for the lack of jobs for the “real” Americans, rather than punish the business owners that caused the market to crash in the first place. Mexicans were an obvious target for this crisis for a few reasons. The primary is that it is an easy narrative to spin that these people who are working for less than the average laborer are cause the issues is not a hard sell. People want to believe that someone they can easily bully is to blame, and not some megalith like the government or a corporation. The only reason they were the obvious choice is that deporting Mexicans and Mexican Americans would be cheaper and easier than any other minority group, since they are just a boarder away. No boat trips required. The American government started the Mexican Repatriation, or more accurately in many cases, the depatriation. Repatriation implies that the government is giving these people a new home, a new country, but what was really happening, for many of these individuals who are American, is that they were being stripped of their homes, having their citizenship denied, and sent to a country they’ve never been to, a place they don’t really belong. Similarly, this caused unfounded hate to be put on those who remained, and similarly, had a negative impact on the health of the American economy.
Tumblr media
After the attack on Pearl Harbor by the Japanese, which brought America into World War 2, the west coast was declared a military exclusion zone, and required any person of Japanese descent to relocate. In this example we see that the inciting incident isn’t an economic issue, but a military one. The narrative that was used to justify this act was the fear that these people whose parents or grandparents came from Japan would, but many of whom had never been themselves or had any ties to Japan, would assist Japan in the war. There was also a lot of support for this act that was economic. Despite mostly being Americans, these Japanese were seen as invaders, taking work and business away from “real” Americans; real meaning white in this case, so an excuse to get rid of them, take their homes and business from them, seemed like a bonus to many. In this case the people being affected were being detained without due process, put into camps where they lived and worked and were not allowed to leave. Over a thousand people died in these camps. They were asked to denounce their loyalty to Japan, which, for the Issei, or Japanese people who were not citizens of the United States, would leave they people with no homeland. They had to choose between that or being separated from their families and being deported. Many of the men where also asked to join the army to fight in the war, they would go to Europe to fight and many died, while their families are sitting in concentration camps with no rights or freedoms. This also happened to many of the Mexican Americans who were Repatriated to Mexico. When World War 2 hit, they were asked to join the army, and according to the video we watched, all of them did. Again, these men being asked to fight and die for a country that threw them out, took their land and freedom and tossed them aside. Like in both of the previous cases, even once they were let out of the camps, the negative impact on the lives of the Japanese would continue, with them being denied jobs and land, and those who were not citizens, still no access to a way to get their citizenship.
Tumblr media
The most obvious current day correlation to these human rights violations is what is happening at our southern boarder at this very moment. We are in the middle of a humanitarian crisis. One of the side effects of the age we live in however, is that the inciting incident is much more nebulous. There is an economic aspect to it. America recently went through a recession, and while it has somewhat recovered on a macro scale, many individuals are still feeling the fallout of it. But on top of that there is just general fear mongering by corporations and politicians. Lies and false information being broadcast on a wider scale than ever before, which is allowing for the masses to be manipulated into allowing these human rights violations. Beyond those reasons though, there is the even scarier notion that many white Americans do not see the people being illegally incarcerated at the boarder as people. They see them as monsters or animals that need to be caged and controlled. We are knee deep in one of these situations that history is going to look unfavorably on, and as a citizen of this country I find it distressing that I am as complicit as the average German citizen was to the holocaust. Maybe more so because I am fully aware of what is happening. I speak out against Trump and his administration every chance I get but I feel like I am shouting into the wind, that it’s not going to matter. The 2020 election has me scared, and I am trying to be optimistic about the outcome, but it feels so rigged. If Trump wins in 2020, I feel like what is happening at the southern border is just the beginning.

10 Questions! (Double, NO Quadruple Trouble!)
So I was tagged by both the magnificent @dreadhobo AND the fantastic @mommadreadwolf  AND the awesome @elfsplaining AND the splendid @adventuresinastrangeworld!
Rules:  Always post the rules, answer the questions given to you, then write 10 questions of your own, and tag some friends!
This got long so I’m putting it under the cut!
Dreadhobo’s questions:
1. Coffee, hot chocolate or tea?
All of them! Although tea and coffee are probably above hot chocolate. I think I prefer tea a bit, but I drink significantly more coffee. . . .I probably bleed coffee.
2. What food have you never eaten but would really like to try?
hmmm. . . .I’m willing to try anything at least once! I’m not a fan of organ meats though . . . although @extravagantlies was telling me about these pancakes in Holland that I want to try now! I’m a huge carb fiend.
3. What’s something people don’t worry about but really should?
Um. . . . I’m a complete worrier, so I’d be inclined to say everything? I can think of a lot to be worried about . . . .and I’m also not sure I trust my judgement on what people in general are commonly worried about. My view on that may be biased based off my own circle of acquaintances and that could lean one way or another. . .
4. if you could travel anywhere in the world, where would it be?
. . . This is difficult for me. I’d kind of like to return to Japan or Norway, but I really, really want to visit New Zealand as well. I’ll go with New Zealand!
5. What’s the funniest joke you know by heart?
I’m not funny. Seriously can’t think of any jokes, most of what humor I have is based off of sarcasm or dry responses.
6. Languages you wish you could speak?
(ALL OF THEM) Gaelic, Korean, Welsh, ASL, Spanish, German, Czech, Arabic. . .
7. What game have you spent the most hours playing?
I’m not 100% sure because I have no way to check how many hours I played Neverwinter Nights or Diablo 2. I would guess overall the highest would be Neverwinter Nights. More recently Diablo 3 and Dragon Age: Inquisition have pretty high counts, but I’d bet that NWN is still higher.
8. Favourite video games?
Dragon Age series, Diablo series, Neverwinter Nights, Civilization, KOTOR series. . .
9. Best childhood memory?
I have plenty of great childhood memories; “best” is difficult. I remember playing on the swing set with my grandmother, learning cards from my grandfather, being extremely close with my mom. Sitting outside on a blanket and cloud watching with her. Singing along to show tunes in the car. I remember watching Star Wars for the first time and becoming obsessed with Princess Leia. I remember when I realized that reading was fun.
10. Favourite songs?
Cosmic Love by Florence + the Machine,   Bonny Swans by Loreena McKennitt,   20+∞Century Boys by Acid Black Cherry,   Midgard by Therion,   Wait For It from Hamilton,   Burn from Hamilton,   Organs from Of Monster and Men,   Empire by Shakira,   Between by Vienna Teng,   Numb by Marina and the Diamonds,   Never Look Away by Vienna Teng,   Starships by Nicki Minaj,   Koe by Amano Tsukiko,   Moutain Sound by Of Monsters and Men,   A Rose For The Dead by Theatre of Tragedy,   La Nuit M’appelle from 1789,   Konayuki by Remioromen,   Les Rois du Monde from Romeo & Juliette,   Home from Beauty & the Beast,   Take Me to the Riot by Stars,   Umbrella by Rihanna,   What You Own from Rent,   When I Grow Up from Matilda,   Moonfall from The Mystery of Edwin Drood,   Nemo by Nightwish . . . . and many, many more . . ..
Momma Dread Wolf’s questions:
1) What is the one thing guaranteed to make you smile?
Hugs! Hugs and cuddles from a loved one always make me smile. :)
2) What did you want to be when you were little?
I wanted to be an actress on Broadway.
3) What’s your guilty pleasure?
Probably eating why to many breads and other carbs? To an extent I suppose fandom is also a guilty pleasure?
4) When did you first start getting into games?
I first started watching my dad and uncle play the original Diablo when I was about 4.
5) Any game (excluding DA), film or book that really moved you?
I’m super emotional so A LOT of movies and books move me. It’s not difficult at all. I even will get emotional when listening to songs and soundtracks y’all. Seriously, I was listening to Hamilton earlier and I started crying. Then I listened to Ragtime and started crying. Then Les Miz and started crying.
. . . .My first thought was all the great bloggers on here that I’d love to meet in person! XD I have a feeling that’s not what your meant though? Barack Obama maybe? Barak and Michelle Obama!
7) Historical figure you admire?
I don’t know if admire is the right word but I’ve had a weird obsession with Eleanor of Aquitaine since I was in middle school. I do admire Josephine Baker quite a bit.
8) You’ve been given a teleporter!! Where would you go??
Where wouldn’t I go?!? World vacations time!
9) You can turn invisible!! What would you do?
hmmm. . . . Concerts, musicals, and plays probably!
10) You’ve just discovered you have magic powers!! Like fireball and lightening strike! How would you react??
O.O . . . . .I mean on one had I think that’s cool! On the other hand . . . . .I’m worried? I feel like that could easily get out of hand. How do I control it?
Adventures questions:
1) What sort of pen do you prefer for writing? Ballpoint? Gel? Ink color(s)?
Usually black, blue, or purple ballpoint.
2) What’s a question you’ve spent a lot to time thinking about your answer to, but have never been asked?
“Hey, how is Elrond related to all the Caliquendi Eldar royal houses AND the line of Thingol again?” “I’m so glad you asked. . . “
3) Bar soap or body wash?
Both! I have both in my shower AND I use both.
4) Smells you 100% absolutely cannot stand?
Certain fermented smells. Fermented soy beans for one. Certain . . . .chemical sweet smells as well.
5) How many books do you have right now that you haven’t read yet?
At least 10? I can’t not buy something when I’m at a bookstore. It’s a problem.
6) You can hear your neighbor enjoying a session of the horizontal polka. Do you: a) Put headphones on and crank up the volume b) Blair “Let’s Get it On’” loud enough that your neighbor knows that you know c) Bang on the door and tell them they need to keep it down d) Leave an anonymous note for them to find in the morning?
Probably A and then D, but the note would probably be . . . .pretty lighthearted? Just to make sure that they know they were hear-able and that they know I’m requesting for them to tone it down a bit?
7) What are your favorite shoes like? (pics?)
I don’t have pictures of them, but I have really fun over-the-knee black boots that I love!
8) What is the best way to wake you up in the morning?
. . . Pray? I am not a morning person.
9) Road trips or air travel?
I actually don’t mind either at all!
10) Something you’re really picky about?
I hate cartilage in meat ( I know some people love cartilage/ connective tissue, but it really grosses me out! Sorry! You can have my helping if you like it!).
Elfsplaining’s Questions:
1. Crunchy peanut butter or smooth?
It depends on what I’m doing with the peanut butter, but generally crunchy.
2. Are you a city person or a country person?
Small city!
3. Do you have pets?
Not currently. :(
4. What was the first video game you ever played?
I think it was Neverwinter Nights but it easily may have been Diablo 2?
5. What is your favorite subject to study?
I really enjoy studying usually. Maybe history?
6. Are you religious or spiritual?
I’m . . . . . . I was raised Catholic, still the vaguest of Catholic-”light”, somewhere between agnostic and something else. So spiritual? Yes. Still trying to figure out religion.
7. What’s in your purse/backpack right now?
Tumblr media
8. What’s your favorite kind of cookie?
ALL KINDS. ALL.
9. Who was your first Bioware romance?
Alistair!
10. What is your favorite instrument?
Well since I use to play the harp I feel I need to say that? Although I really like the nyckelharpa too.
My 10 questions:
1. If you could choose any city in the world to live in, where would you choose?
2. What are your favorite hobbies?
3. What is your favorite word to use in writing? when speaking?
4. If given the chance to see the future, would you want to? Why?
5. What’s your favorite flavor of ice cream?
6. What is a skill you would like to pick up? Why?
7. Would you rather visit 100 years in the past or 100 years in the future? Why?
8. What is your favorite food to make?
9. When did you first become interested in video games?
10. Most annoying video game boss? Why?

  [1586]
FREUD-NIETZSCHE AND MARX- Today I need to do a little more on our study of Modernity [the thinkers who have influenced Western culture/thought from the 1700’s- 2000’s. At this time I have 3 separate studies I have started on-line; Classics of literature, Great Christian thinkers of history, and Modernity. As time rolls on- I will gradually post all new studies once a year in a monthly post [most of the time it will be February] and as I update them you can read the most recent ones from the most recent years.
Okay- I am skipping a bunch of stuff to jump into the thinkers who represent the most popular forms of atheism- Marx, Nietzsche and Freud. But first we need to take a look at Ludwig Feuerbach. L.F. [Ludwig Feuerbach] laid the groundwork for these other more famous rejecters of God and Christianity. During the enlightenment period it was rare for the critics of religion to hold an outright atheistic view- men like Hume and Voltaire- though true critics of the church- did not come out openly and deny the existence of God. It was also difficult [impossible?] to hold professorships in the universities if you were a doubter of God. Both Hume and Voltaire did not hold positions. F.S. was Hegelian in a way [he followed Hegel’s idea that ‘God’ comes to self consciousness thru the development of humanity] but F.S. was a Materialist- Hegel was an Idealist. Remember- idealism is the philosophical system that sees reality existing in forms/ideas first- then later comes the material thing.
F.S. espoused the idea that reality starts with the material existence of man first- and thru religion man ‘projects’ the idea of God/spirit into society- and as man and Christianity develop [all good things for F.S.] that the ultimate truth that we learn on this journey is that man is really all there is- his ‘phase’ of God and religion were simply necessary stages for man to arrive at this self conscious state in which he finally realizes that man is all there is- God was a ‘crutch’- a needed one- but never the less simply a projection of mans mind until he came to full maturity. For F.S. ‘theology [the study of God] is anthropology’ [the study of man]. So in this sense he follows Hegel- the development of man and society is the development of God- but Hegel starts with spirit projecting ‘himself’ into creation- and F.S. starts with man/matter first- and man projects this idea of God/spirit as a secondary reality. The philosopher Paul Ricoeur describes F.S. and his disciples as holding to a system of belief called ‘the hermeneutics of suspicion’. This meaning that religion and God are not just things that seem to be irrational [according to certain enlightenment critics] but that religion itself is a mask that adds to the suffering of man- that man is under the dominion of false ideas- ideas that have been developed by those who want power over others- and these taskmasters use religion as a tool to oppress the ignorant masses. This idea will come to full bloom in the mind of Marx. Marx referred to religion as a ‘false consciousness’ that kept man in servitude to others who ruled over them- and religion itself was the tool that kept these ignorant masses in check. Nietzsche thought religion had its roots in weakness and sickness- and that the most decadent used it to control those who were actually more moral than the leaders. Freud saw religion as an effect of repression and the actual cause of mental conflict and guilt- he blamed religion for all the psychosis that man is afflicted with in life. The next few posts in this study [whenever I get to them?] I will try and develop all 3 of these famous thinkers ideas- show the errors in their own thinking- and the aftermath of generations who have tried/fleshed out their philosophies- and have found them dreadfully lacking in the end.
[1587] OVERVIEW-  Lets over view a little today- in the last post I mentioned how we will be getting into Marx, Freud and Nietzsche in the coming months- yet I have so many things going on at this time that just in case I never get to them I want to lay out some stuff. First, most challenges to the Christian faith/God- have come from the point of view that said ‘yes- we believe that there is some being out there- God- but we challenge the purveyors of religion and how man has used religion to control- manipulate the masses’. It was not until the rise of these men that the popular approach of ‘no God’ would take a foothold in the minds of many unsuspecting ‘masses’. Before we delve into the ideas and contradictions of these men- let me explain why most thinkers of the Enlightenment did not take the atheistic approach- and instead opted for some form of Deism/Theism. The original debate of ‘where did everything come from’ did not start during the Enlightenment- it dates back as far as 4-5 centuries before Christ- the question is obviously older- but you can read the debate taking place in the great minds of the Greek philosophers; Socrates, Plato and Aristotle. Though the idea of God in the minds of these Greek thinkers was not the same definition that Christianity would hold to- yet they did believe in some type of being who for the most part was what we would think of as God- they referred to him as The Prime Mover- a term that the great Catholic thinker Thomas Aquinas would use in the 13th century as he too argued for the existence of God. Okay- the Greeks taught that the universe/cosmos always existed- and there was an initiator who started the ball rolling [motion]. Their ideas about how the solar system worked were primitive- the famous idea espoused by Ptolemy had a sort of crystalline sphere surrounding the earth and the stars and planets were ‘stuck’ to this shield and as the sphere rotated- that’s what caused the heavens to change. Obviously the breakthroughs in cosmology that occurred under Copernicus and Galileo would bring us into a more perfect idea of how everything functions- yet the Ptolemaic view prevailed for centuries. Now- over the centuries those who began to challenge the church- they would hold to a view that while it is obvious that some Divine being exists [yes- very obvious- get to it in a moment] – yet they were not sure about the existence of the universe- did it always exist like the Greek philosophers said- or did the universe- and all things- have a beginning point? It is important to realize that those who would later on [18th– 20th centuries] challenge the actual existence of God- these very intelligent atheists [not joking] understood that if modern science ever taught a view that said ‘there was a point in time where nothing existed’ these men realized if this were true- then the gig would be up- if there was a time where nothing existed- not even God- they knew beyond all doubt that you would have nothing today. In my view these atheists were the smartest. Yet the breakthroughs in Physics during the era of Einstein did finally prove- beyond all doubt- that there was a time in the past where Time, Matter, Space- that all things did indeed have a starting point. This scientific fact [not religious fact] is absolute- beyond all doubt- irrefutable proof that God does indeed exist- and that he does possess all the attributes ascribed to him by Christian theology. If there was a time where nothing existed [not even God] then you would have nothing today- that’s fact- not belief. So- this is the way the world has debated about the subject for thousands of years- and for the recent theories to try and go back to the idea that the cosmos always existed- well that’s stone age thinking- that’s a rejection of what is commonly referred to as Big Bang cosmology- and no serious thinker rejects Einstein’s theories any more. So- where does that leave us? As we get into the many ideas people have come up with about God- religion- etc. we want to give the critics their chance to make the case- I have been reading [and refuting] Christopher Hitchens book these last few weeks [God is not great- Hitchens is a famous atheist] and I’m giving him a fair hearing- but not going easy on his blunders as well. A while back I got into a debate on a scientific type site- it was Christian in nature- but as I read the feed I realized there were a bunch of scientists going at it- smart men- some on the side of faith- others against it. I added [hesitantly!] my 2 cents worth. At one point- one of the scientists made a major blunder in logic while making his case that there is no God- I wasn’t too mean [heck- he was mocking Christians- I had to be a little mean] and as I posted my correction- proving him to be wrong- not in my area of faith- but in his area of science- he left the debate and never came back. As I checked the posts the next day- I saw another scientist anonymously posted a comment- agreeing with me, about a scientific fact- and admitting that his friend was indeed wrong. The point? It is too easy in this debate to think ‘surely these men must be right- after all they wouldn’t be so popular if they were wrong’- the fact is- this debate is not new, and yes- there are many popular writers/thinkers who are teaching an atheistic view- and these guys are making major mistakes in logic, fact, even in their own fields- they have been proven wrong- time and time again. So for those who are fans of the thinkers I will be refuting down the road- keep an open mind- don’t assume that these men are beyond fault- major fault in my view- and realize that the most prevalent idea espoused by the atheistic thinkers today- has indeed been proven false. You cannot get something from nothing- if there were a time where nothing existed- then nothing would exist today.
[1588] THE JEWISH CONTRIBUTION TO MODERNITY- Before I jump too far ahead in our study of Modernity- let me try and do a few posts on the contribution that Jewish thinkers added to the conversation. Obviously the influence from Christian thinkers [or those who came from a Christian background] played the majority role in forming the boundaries of philosophical and theological thinking in the Modern period- yet there were a few notable Jewish thinkers who also made some good contributions. Moses Mendelssohn interpreted Judaism thru a rational/modern lens and played the role of liberal theologian- much like the liberal Christian scholars who were attempting to emphasize the universality of religion and focusing less on the idea of exclusiveness. The 19th– 20th century thinker- Hermann Cohen- saw Judaism in terms of a universal ethical humanism- later on he returned to a more particularistic view- stressing the concepts of sin and salvation and how universal ethics by themselves were not able to address these issues apart from a particular religious revelation. Certain schools of theologians view  the return of the Jews- spoken about in the Old Testament- to their homeland in the 6th century B.C. as the true beginning of Jewish history and thought- they hold to the liberal view that the Torah was written at this time [as opposed to around 1100 B.C. by Moses] and that this era marked the phase of 2nd temple Judaism. I too view the period from the return from captivity in the 6th century B.C. as a sort of  ‘2nd temple Judaism’ yet I reject the idea that the Torah was written at that time- I hold to the conservative view that Moses wrote most of the first 5 books of the Old Testament. Having said that- after the Jews returned to their homeland [6th century B.C.] they would reinstitute temple worship and eventually Herod [Roman ruler] would rebuild the temple and the 1st century Jews would regulate their lives round the temple and it’s rituals- Priests played a major role in religious/political life. In 66 A.D. the Jews rebelled against Roman dominance- and in A.D. 70 Rome destroyed the temple under Titus [the military commander] and the Jews would lose the central religious location that structured their lives for centuries. Eventually Rabbi’s-the interpreters of the law- would play the major role in shaping the religious thought of the Jewish people. As time progressed, society eventually asked the question- which came to be known as ‘the Jewish question’- how should Jewish people be seen? Those living in France and Germany- were they to be accepted as Jews- with a distinct ethnic/religious culture- or should they be seen as German- French citizens? Recently- a famous female journalist [Helen Thomas] made headlines when a u-tube video came out- she was commenting on the ‘Jewish question’ and said the Jews ‘need to get the hell out of Palestine and return to their home countries’ when asked ‘what home countries’ she said Germany and France- obviously the Jewish question still lives in the minds of certain people. In the 17th century you had the development of a Jewish form of Pietism- called Hasidism. And in the 19th century Judaism would split into 3 distinct groups- Conservative, Reform and Orthodox. In the late 19th century you would have the rise of Zionism [the homeland question once again] and eventually the American Evangelical community would take up the cause of Zionism and it would become a major plank in the Dispensational theology of the American Protestant church. Though Zionism [the right of the Jews to once again posses their homeland] started as a purely political concern- over time it became ‘Christianized’ and would become the cause célèbre for many T.V. evangelists of the current day [John Hagee- just to name one].

Thumbnails Special Edition: Cannes 2018
In addition to our full table of contents, we are highlighting some of our coverage from the 2018 Cannes Film Festival in this special edition of Thumbnails. Included below are daily dispatches by Barbara Scharres and Ben Kenigsberg as well as video dispatches by Chaz Ebert.
1.

Cannes 2018 with Chaz Ebert, Segment 5 from The Mint on Vimeo.
"Capharnaüm, The First of Many and More": Chaz Ebert's fifth video dispatch from Cannes 2018 features interviews with filmmakers Pamela Guest and Pamela Green, producer Matthew Helderman, production coordinator and Ebert Fellow Sue-Ellen Chitunya and Gary Novak, Dean of DePaul University’s School of Cinematic Arts.
“While it’s wonderful to see a female director like Nadine Labaki succeed so admirably here in Cannes, the industry still has a long way to go towards equality as evidenced by the protests earlier in the festival calling for 50/50 by 2020: Equal representation of women by the year 2020. And the #MeToo and #TimesUp movements remain at the forefront of conversation here on the Croisette. One woman active in that movement is talented actress and casting director, Pamela Guest. She was raped in the 1970’s and only realized many years later that the rapist was Oscar winning composer and filmmaker Joseph Brooks who ironically composed the song ‘You Light Up My Life.’ Guest was brave enough to make a short film about her ordeal called ‘The First of Many.’ Her role is played, and co-directed, by her daughter Elizabeth. It’s a powerful statement that really felt like a punch to the gut when I watched it.Other women filmmakers are on display here in Cannes as well. A documentary about the mother of cinema called ‘Be Natural’ and directed by Pamela Green played in Cannes Classics. It tells the forgotten story of Alice Guy Blaché, a woman who directed over a thousand films in the early silent era, and even pioneered techniques like color tinting and synchronized sound, and working with an all black cast. Despite her vast contributions to the history of film, and even owning her own movie studio, she’s been largely left out of cinema history. This film aims to change that.”
2.
"Edward Lachman, an honoree at the festival, discusses the past and future of cinematography": In conversation with Ben Kenigsberg.
“Already a recent honoree of the American Society of Cinematographers and the Telluride Film Festival, the cinematographer Edward Lachman (‘Wonderstruck,’ ‘Carol’) received a tribute ceremony at Cannes on Friday. ‘I’m waiting for the afterlife achievement award,’ he joked when we met on Friday at a beachfront pavilion hours before the event. It may not have been his first tribute, but cinematographer, 72, clad in his trademark black hat, showed no signs of tiring when it came to sharing thoughts on his craft or his teachers, who go beyond the world of cinematography. He began with the photographer Robert Frank. He was ‘the first image maker that got me interested in images,’ Lachman said. ‘To look at 'The Americans,' I realized that here were documented images that he imbued with a certain subjectivity and poetics, in the language and also the visual metaphors and how he represented what he saw.’ His other formative influences included the writer Dwight Macdonald, with whom he took a course at Harvard, and Vittorio De Sica's movie ‘Umberto D.,’ which taught him how a film could be constructed primarily with images, not sound.”
3.
"'The House That Jack Built,' 'At War,' 'Asako I & II'": Barbara Scharres reviews three selections at Cannes including the latest from Lars von Trier.
“For three-quarters of the running time, ‘The House That Jack Built’ is a clunky rambling film with a homemade look. The whole point seems to be von Trier’s relish of the details of the grisly murders of women, an exercise in pure savagery, with Jack later storing up the corpses in a walk-in freezer and sometimes posing them for photos. Inserted into the narrative of the murderer’s adventures in gratuitous violence are ponderous asides in the form of art reproductions, animation, diagrams, and text, as if reflecting upon Jack’s malformed psyche within the greater scope of art, religion, and world history. There’s even a YouTube clip of pianist Glenn Gould playing Bach like a madman. Von Trier increasingly aims for the metaphysical, but at its center his film contains one small and sniveling statement, an ironic aggrieved cry that cuts through the bogus intellectualism of ‘The House That Jack Built’ to reveal the glaring foundation of this film. After verbally abusing a buxom blonde, he mutilates and kills her, whining to Verge, ‘Why is it always the man’s fault? Women are always victims … to be born male is to be born guilty.’ ‘Why are they [women] always so stupid?’ commiserates Verge.”
4.
"Hirokazu Kore-Eda wins Palme d'Or; Gilliam's Man Who Killed Don Quixote Film Closes the Fest": As reported by Ben Kenigsberg.
“Hirokazu Kore-eda won the Palme d'Or at the 71st Cannes Film Festival for ‘Shoplifters,’ which observes the dynamics of a peculiar Japanese family, while Spike Lee won the second-place Grand Jury Prize for ‘BlacKkKlansman,’ the dramatized true story of an African-American police officer in Colorado Springs who infiltrated the Ku Klux Klan. Both awards were milestones, in their ways: This was Cannes regular Kore-eda's first Palme and Japan's first since ‘The Eel’ in 1997. Lee, returning to competition for the first time since ‘Jungle Fever’ in 1991, had been infamously passed over by the awards jury for ‘Do the Right Thing’ in 1989. Lee accepted the prize on ‘behalf of the people’s republic of Brooklyn, New York.’ But the moment of the evening was clearly Asia Argento's speech before the presentation of the Best Actress award. She acknowledged the Harvey Weinstein scandal that has hovered over the festival. ‘In 1997, I was raped by Harvey Weinstein here at Cannes,’ Argento said at the ceremony, reiterating what she had told The New Yorker in a report published last fall. ‘I was 21 years old. This festival was his hunting ground. I want to make a prediction: Harvey Weinstein will never be welcomed here ever again.’ She said that sitting among the audience members were others who had not been held accountable for their conduct against women.”
5.
"Palme des Whiskers": Barbara Scharres presents her amusing coverage of the best cat performances from Cannes 2018.
“The champion bull of ‘3 Faces’ has pledged to block the street with his considerable bulk if there are any threats. It’s a veritable Peaceable Kingdom of inter-species cooperation. My own Miss Kitty, Mistress of Ceremonies, takes the precaution of inspecting the lineup, especially relishing the sight of the honor guard of French Army cats with their titanium-tipped claws and jaunty berets. Before the official fun begins, some catfights are assured. Let’s sneak into the jury’s inner sanctum as quiet as mice, and find out what’s happening. Mimi, last year’s Palme des Whiskers winner, and the venerable feline French New Wave star of Agnes Varda’s ‘Faces Places,’ is ready to defend herself with a threatening paw, as pointy-faced Lola, screeches, ‘I’m here to support #MeToo, and you said it was going to be a majority-female jury, like that other one headed by Cat Blanchett.’ ‘That’s Cate, you birdbrain,’ smirks slinky Siamese Nico, ‘And I know on the best authority that it’s a pinky-skin human, not a cat, because my butler John Powers, who I let moonlight at Vogue, told me.’”

Artist Statements
Louise Fisher, Wales Miner’s Fortnight Inspired by Bruce Davidson’s iconic shots of South Wales in the 1960’s; ‘Miner’s Fortnight’ revisits Barry, a small coastal town in the Vale of Glamorgan, after the demise of the coal mining industry, to see what has become of the once booming and lively seaside resort, where the miners and their families had left the valleys to sought respite and sunshine on the sandy beach. Fisher's work is deeply routed in landscape and documentary photography, inspired and derived from her culturally diverse upbringing; being half Chinese-Malaysian and half Welsh, she engages and explores her interest in nationality, identity and class. Hannah Salvidge, England Outer Hannah Salvidge is a photographer working largely with the urban and suburban landscape. These images, taken from the photobook Outer (2018), are inspired by principles of Psychogeography and the act of walking. They focus upon places and subject matter that is widely ignored or overlooked within the vast expanse of London, providing intimate insight into a perhaps unfamiliar side of the city. Mireia Tramunt, Canary Islands C. Acrylic on natural linen Moving between different disciplines, Mireia Tramunt's work speaks of the body as a landscape, the self and reflects its connection with the natural elements and purest things. Since the beginning of her career, the artist was intrigued to capture in the presence what cannot be seen. She has been interested in the sensory character of the painting and by the people and their experiences. The large-scale portraits mirror a complex and nostalgic generation, perhaps chaotic, which missing essence is here perpetuated and becomes graspable. Tramunt is a London based Spanish artist from Las Palmas (Canary Islands); she graduated from the University of Fine Arts in Madrid. Moving across painting, photography and drawing, she is currently working on personal and commissioned projects. Javier Badosa, Spain
Colourfolds Javier Badosa is a filmmaker from Madrid, Spain. His short documentary follows Hanna Piepenburg, a German artist that has experimented with, the combination of abstract art with watercolours and the mathematical beauty of origami techniques. The result is a metaphor of her art approach, which translates in her life vision. Judith Burrows, England
Triptych 3: from the series ‘Moments from the chaos of time’ Judith Burrows’ film and photography background plays a significant role in her mixed media images. Her interest is in the unique resonance of a particular location, how we individually relate to our surroundings, and the narratives we weave into it. In her commissioned work Judith explores a specific area to find relevant locations for her portraiture and takes photographs as reference using several cameras, and old film stock. The resulting photographs when processed show a variety of dialogue. Some images spark memories and become the inspiration for further exploration as the relevance and emotional intent of a particular location is unravelled.  Working with gouache, oils, abstract mono-printed textures, and text, they seem to challenge concepts of time and memory. This feeling is exaggerated by the presence of small lone figures.  Over the recent months a new body of paintings have emerged. These are inspired by an on-going theme, they reflect the chaotic times we find ourselves in – politically, personally and emotionally and how we position ourselves in this altered and unsettled landscape. Christopher Bennett, Greenland Kulusuk These pieces are excerpts from Bennett’s education picture book about the life and struggles of a traditional Inuit family living in a settlement located in Kulusuk, Greenland. Bennett is an illustrator currently living and working in Kent, England. Asya Gurevich, Russia Saint Petersburg Stories, Back in the USSR This project shows the lives of people from the Soviet Union and Russian Federation and how their lives are reflected in their faces. The portraits were projected on a wall or a surface, such as broken brick wall to suggest the break up of the Soviet Union or the modern Russian Federation and how the modern generation have changed. As Gurevich is from St Petersburg, there is something deeply personal about her work. Lucia Fantini, England The Boundary Community Launderette
Lucia Fantini is a Photographer and Filmmaker from Bristol, UK. Her short documentary follows the story of the Boundary Community Launderette, a small not-for profit community business. The fragmented combination of Photographs, Videos, Sound and Animation reflect the process that Lucia took when making this documentary. This was a solo project that she completed by herself. Lucia visited the Launderette for about 4 months, and grew close to the staff and customers. Through her time there she learnt more and more about how much the area has changed. With issues of gentrification, and the historical presence of what was once London's most notorious slum. Wenxuan Wang, China The Curse of Resource: Ghost City-Yumen Yumen once played quite an important role in the history of oil resource development in China. The first oil well was discovered in this region in 1939. Because of resource exhaustion, the local government and oil base were relocated. The oil city, which was prosperous in the past, is now filled with empty buildings. Local residents are mostly old people, laid-off workers and those who live on basic allowance. The law of development determined that it was eventually condemned by “resource curse”, thus Yumen rapidly became a ghost town.
Ruiyi Zhu, China Beng Beng in Beijing
With the development of transportation in Beijing, the numbers of motor vehicles and other forms of transportation have increased greatly; however, among various types of vehicles used in Beijing, people tend to ignore the tricycles amongst crowded traffic as well as the narrow roads. The tricycle (Beng Beng) drivers consist of men and women, young and old. These drivers violate the law whilst still choosing to continue their job as Beng Beng drivers in the vast city of Beijing. Zhu’s short documentary ‘Beng Beng in Beijing’ interviews one of these drivers to try and attain a deeper understanding of this job and the people who do it. Through Papasava’s art, she explores her own psychological depths, the myths and symbols of her culture and other cultures around the world. Her work combines both photography and painting and is mainly inspired from paintings. The main subject of her work ‘Chromatic Totality’ is the human body in its nude expression with characteristics of aesthetics and simplicity. The main theme of the project is self-identity. Inspired by Kant’s theory, Papasava expresses the idea of “the self” as a whole. In painting, red, yellow and blue are primary colours and all the other colours can be produced by different combinations of these three. Yulia Kholdina, Russia No Choice Yulia Kholdina is a Jewellery Design student at Central Saint Martins. Through her practice and study, she has discovered the connection between art and the craftsmanship of jewellery and her project reflects this. This particular collection entitled ‘No Choice’ was made for Kholdina’s final project at her Foundation course at Central Saint Martins. Through her jewellery, Kholdina wanted to show how infant baptism can be harmful to people who have experienced the process. The project is a reflection of how infant baptism can create feelings of forcefulness and negativity about religion. Her final project contains two pieces, both of which restrict the movement of certain body parts. The ring is designed to force the position of the three fingers used for orthodox Christian’s prayers to stay without freedom. However, the neckpiece is designed to restrict the head with only an upward position to project the act of looking up at God.
Jason Allen Lee, United States Windows
Jason Allen Lee is a filmmaker and photographer currently residing in Memphis, TN.  Windows is an experimental film exploring the concept of security and surveillance.  An open window becomes an invitation to look inside—but who is watching? In the digital world, our private lives are being shared with others, and it's not always being shared voluntarily.  Fragments of data are collected, patterns are recorded, and our habits are on display.  Windows provide a metaphor for the screens we use to observe others.
These are all the artist statements that I have collected and put together into one word document template that was made earlier. Unfortunately, not every artist could give us their statement in-time so we just included their project title instead. I had to read over the statements and double check everyone’s artist statement because some people wrote theirs in first person while the majority was written in third person. Also, because the exhibition included a lot of international artists, some of the spelling and grammar wasn’t correct so I had to change a few of the sentences and change bits for it to make sense.

The Number of Views Dramatically Increases for Another "WS", The Latest Video Work by a Japanese Samurai Artist
A Japanese Contemporary Artist Samurai Masa Slashes in His Way to Save The World from the Evil President with Underpants as His Weapon.
TOKYO, May 24, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- Samurai Masa, a contemporary artist, is pleased to announce a dramatic increase in the number of views of his latest video work, Another "WS" ~The evil president AWAKENS interest in girlish tastes~.
youtube
This is the video art that features the movie Star Wars. Since its release on March 27th, the number of views has been rapidly increasing.
The video uploaded on the Samurai Masa's official Facebook page hit 160,000 views in a short period of time. It is winning favors in Asia, particularly in China, and this phenomenon has been reported on several leading news websites of the country.
"Recently, people are feeling fear from instabilities in the world. The story about a Japanese samurai who stands up for punishing an imaginary evil president might be appreciated by the people living in these insecure societies," Samurai Masa guesses the reason of this good reaction.
From ancient times, politics and art have been always connected.
This current society is no exception and we see that artwork picks up politics as a theme. With an intention to encourage Japanese artists to bring an action against politics, Samurai Masa led the vanguard and tackled with the production of this video work, Another "WS".
In this video art about 'fighting against the evil president', Samurai Masa also incorporates a particular message in a hope of raising a question about 'capitalism'.
Pursuing too much capital and free competitions are making this world ill-balanced. By making this artwork, Samurai Masa aims to create a stir in the current social system where capitalism overly dominates, especially, one of the biggest capitalist countries, the United States of America.
But why a Samurai and underpants?
The artist is a descendant of Samurai in Japan's Civil Wars Era.
The history of humanity is the history of fighting, repeated over hundreds of years. However, fighting results in nothing positive.
Samurai Masa is trying to send out this message to the world through his artwork using underpants as a symbol of the peaceful world.
"No matter where you are from, which religion you believe, the role of underpants is pretty much the same everywhere...and they will get dirty! Regardless of who you are, when you are standing with just your underpants on, this triggers a giggle. This sense of humor could work for creating a more peaceful world," says Samurai Masa, explaining his passions for an art with underpants.
This video art can be viewed on: YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJQIn2C6QLU  Facebook: http://ift.tt/2qWelAR
*Please watch out for some shocking images and audio volumes.
*All characters and events in this motion picture are fictitious. Any resemblance to actual persons or events is purely coincidental.
Samurai Masa, who lives in Japan, but also works in Asia and North America, is now planning a project to build a memorial monument for the American victims of the Attack on Pearl Harbor during World War II, on its very site. Calling Investors and collaborators is under its way.
About Samurai Masa: Samurai Masa is 'a contemporary artist, who fights in the world with underwear as his weapon. He is a descendant of a vassal of the famous Shogun, Toyotomi family. A samurai, surviving in the current world, is going into the world of art not with a sword, but with underwear, for creating a more peaceful world.

Final Host Country Report
Elizabeth Oriade
4/20/17
 Host Country: THAILAND
LOCATION & POPULATION:
It is no surprise that Thailand is one of the most visited countries in the World. Visits at high-quality hotels can be dirt cheap, the nightlife is unlike any other in the world, the white sand beaches offer crystal blue water, and the strikingly beautiful country is rich with culture. As you begin your sojourn, here are facts that will be useful to you on your journey.  Thailand is located in the continent of Asia, more specifically south-east Asia. Thailand is the 51st largest country in the world as it covers 510,890 square kilometers of land and 2.230 square kilometers of water. Thailand shares borders with four other countries: Burma, Cambodia, Malaysia, and Lao People’s Democratic Republic. Its neighboring countries are Laos (located to the north), Cambodia ( located to the south), and Myanmar ( located North-West).http://www.worldatlas.com/as/th/where-is-thailand.html
The country's current population is 68,268,763 composed of nearly 70 different ethnic groups. http://www.worldometers.info/world-population/thailand-population/
Thai is the official language spoken amongst the natives. However, there are 74 languages of Thai including the different dialects, ethnic specific groups, and various Chinese, If you fly into Thailand’s most famously visited cities such as Bangkok (capital) or Chiang Mai, natives who work there speak relatively good English. 94% speak Tai-Kadai languages with Thai form, 2% speak Austronesian language, another 2% speak an Austro-Asiatic language, 1% speak Tibeto-Burman languages, and finally 0.2% speak Hmong Meing. Standard Thai is based off of the dialect spoken in the Chao Phraya valley. The official currency of Thailand is Baht.

 THE ROYAL FAMILY
There is a monarchy in Thailand and the Chakri Dynasty is the current family that is seated on the throne. The former King of Thailand (King Bhumibol Adulyadej) passed away on the 13th of October, 2016. He played a crucial part in uniting Thailand. His people loved and respected him. His son (King Vajiralongkorn) took the throne after him, but is failing to follow in his father’s footsteps.
GOVERNMENT
Thailand is a constitutional monarchy to which the King serves the people of Thailand as the “HEAD OF STATE.” The successor of the king does not necessarily have to be a prince, she can be a princess; whoever is the first born gets to be next in line for the throne. Thailand recently adopted a new constitution in 1997 which is now in full effect. In order for bills to become laws, they have to be passed through the senate and the House of Representatives and then be approved by the king. The king has the right to approve/ reject bills. The executive branch of government is headed by the prime minister who is Prayut Chan-o-cha since 2014.

CULTURE/RELIGION/TRADITIONS:
It’s important to note that because Thailand shares its borders with Myanmar, Laos, and Cambodia its culture is influenced by the Chinese, Indian traditions. However the country has customs that are solely from Thailand. The country is separated into four different regions, each region has its own unique culture. Norther Thailand is home to the Thai Highlands which is its natural mountainous regions and many natural forests/valleys. Northern Thailand shares its borders with Laos and Myanmar and its culture is influenced by the Burmese culture. Southern Thailand ( On the Malay peninsula) is home to the beautiful white sand beaches, it is the most popular region for tourists to visit. It’s tropical climate makes it home to fishermen and their communities. Northeastern Thailand is isolated by a vast mountain range. This is a Lao speaking region and because of its mountains it has an agricultural economy. Central Thailand is the main event, here you can find prominent cities such as Bangkok (capital). Central Thailand is the source of economic commerce and where Thailand produces all of its rice. .http://www.reachtoteachrecruiting.com/guides/thailand/culture-in-thailand/
Thailand’s culture is greatly influenced by the religion Buddhism. Roughly 93.6% of the population is Buddhist, making it the largest Buddhist population in the world. You will see Wats (Buddhist temples) everywhere you go, monks will also be walking around the streets. Even though the vast population of Thai people are Buddhist, religious tolerance is protected by the constitution in Thailand. This law guarantees religious freedom to all Thai people.

 VALUES/FAMILY/GENDER ROLES
In terms of values Thai people strive to uphold and maintain a respectful, non-confrontational, and overall positive attitude. Losing face and showing negative emotions in public is looked down upon, and telling a lie brings shame in Thai culture. This is why it’s called the “City Of Smiles” it is important for Thai people to smile no matter how upset they are. “Men pai rai” means all is well, a common saying in Thailand. The country takes a very neutral approach to communication because the only emotion you are expected to show is happiness. Thailand is a high- context culture because it is very reliant on communal and social harmony, building relationships is Thailand’s number one priority. Showing respect to your elders is a crucial value in Thailand. You always want to bow lower than the elder. Family is extremely important to Thai people. It is common that when a son or daughter gets married the extended family goes to live with the couple. Family owned businesses are huge in Thailand and remain an important part of the culture. As far as gender roles go Thailand has been typically dominated by males, however women are highly respected and there are more opportunities opening up for them to take part in the government, politics, medicine, and business.  If you want to greet a stranger the types of greeting can vary depending on the level of respect you are showing that individual. Saying “Wai” is the universal greeting. For instance a monk requires the highest level of respect. Put your hands together, relax your arms and bow so that your head reaches your thumbs. If you want to greet someone older than you such as your parents you will do the same thing but this time your thumbs will touch your nose. Finally if someone is at the same level (stage of life) as you, your thumb will touch your chin.

 SOCIAL CLASS:
Like many other avian cultures social hierarchy goes with age, occupation, and wealth. Elders and monks are considered the highest on the social ladder as well as older male or females with money. Children and farmers are considered to be the bottom of the social heap. The culture also has an obsession with fairer skin. The lighter your skin is they believe that you have a good job that does not involve you being in the sun. If you have darker skin they believe that you are a farmer, or a beggar. They do not pay a lot of attention to people with darker skin. It is said that skin whitening products can be found everywhere in Thailand. Class and status is also determined by family.

 THAI CUISINES :
While you’re in Thailand be sure to try out some of its amazing food. Thai cuisines are some of the best in the world and Thailand is home to several floating and street markets that sell ingredients to make these dishes. Tom Yum Goong is Thailand’s number 1 dish. It translates to spicy shrimp soup. It is made of many herbs and spices that give it its herbal kick. Seasoned shrimp are added to the soup. Som Tum is a spicy papaya salad that comes from Northeastern Thailand. It is a mixture of garlic, chili, green beans, cherry tomatoes, shredded papayas, and spices that locals cannot get enough of. Like any Asian culture rice is the most important meal. A typical Thai meal includes four seasonings: Sweet, sour, spicy, and salty which usually satisfies all your senses.  In families it is important to share meals together. Going out to eat with friends and family is seen as a critical aspect of your social life. Thai people are eager to share food and believe that eating alone is bad luck.

 RADIO/FILM/NEWSPAPER
Are you looking for thai movies to watch while abroad? Not to worry! Thailand has a major film industry called “the Cinema of Thailand!” It dates back to the early days of filmmaking, not long after it caught an interest with the royal family and businessmen who bought filmmaking equipment to Thailand. Since then Thailand’s new wave of movies have been a hit with great directors such as  Nonzee Nimibutr, Pen-Ek Ratanaruang and Apichatpong Weerasethakul. A plethora of radio stations can also be found in Thailand as well. Thailand’s radio stations can range from Japanese style anime, to alternative rock, to pop, and country. It’s good to know that there is a country out there that doesn’t only rely on their cell phones for news. Thailand has many newspapers that will give you the inside scoop as to what is going on. The most commonly read amongst all is the Bangkok Post. This newspaper gives you the scoop on World business news, political news, prophecy watching, current events, and live radio online.

 DRESS CODE
When traveling to Thailand please be aware of your attire. Thailand is indeed hot, sunny, and humid but there are just some basic things you shouldn’t wear out on the streets. Here are some do’s and don’ts:
DO: Bring sun clothes. For females make sure they cover your shoulders, and are flowy, summer dresses, and fitted tops. For men simple T-shirts or polo’s that cover your shoulders and shorts will do fine.
DON’T: Wear revealing clothing, cut up clothing, sleeveless muscle shirts, or spaghetti strap shirts. DO NOT SHOW CLEAVAGE.
DON’T: Wear your bathing suit around. Thai people only reserve bathing suits for the beach and they think it’s tasteless when they see people walking around in Bikini’s.
DO: Wear whatever you want on your feet.
DON’T: Walk around barefoot.
Below is an expat's couple guide for what to wear to Thailand.
https://www.tielandtothailand.com/what-wear-thailand-dos-donts/
Well friends that is all the information I have for your journey to Thailand. I hope this gives you enough information in order to be educated enough to leave for this beautiful country. I wish you safe travels and do not forget to write!
