It's great what Spain is doing for the people who live there, but can we now put pressure on them to take care of the animals there? They have only recently denied protections to hunting dogs. Many of these dogs are, at best, severely neglected. At worst... Death becomes a blessing for so many of them, young animals have already given up the will to live because of the torture they face. And Spain has not only done nothing to stop this, they have actively chosen to refuse to pass laws to protect their animals. Organizations and charities have worked tirelessly, year after year after year, to save as many of these dogs as possible. And it will never be enough so long as the galgueros can keep legally getting away with these horrific acts of cruelty.

Yes, celebrate the victories for the people, but do not let those who do not have a voice be forgotten.
