time to lock in and drop some jacky lore.

so basically, jacky's great-great-great grandmother was a witch right. and all the children that came after her 3x great grandma were all witches or they inherited witch abilities but not all of them were aware of that, and some didn't practice at all out of fear of being caught etc. now back to the 3x great grandma's timeline, she was part of the coven and this coven had certain rules which were that you could use your magic for anything as long as you didn't hex or harm anyone or any innocent individuals. but if you did, and if you were caught, not only were you kicked out of the coven, but they would take your magic away as a form of punishment and to avoid any of the future generations to commit evil acts like this. however the magic arts was taught up to jacky's great grandma and only minimal stories were being told, and even after that, jacky's mother would not tell her about these stories because she always believed magic was never real and was all made up ( not to mention that the hereditary magic did not pass down to her, it skipped her but it didn't skip jacky ). while jacky was born with these powers, she didn't know that they were hereditary until she ran away from home one rainy day and her green gem necklace was glowing in which triggered/activated her powers ( she possesses almighty magic, and it's green amongst other powers that i'll talk about in another post ), then learning that she was a witch. since her mom didn't believe in witches or magic, she couldn't tell her what happened and wanted to avoid her mother thinking that she was cursed by a demon spirit ( since they're really religious only when it benefits them just to believe that they're good people but we're gonna get into that later ) so she did her own research without her parents finding out ( especially her dad, since he always has a reason to attack this girl smh ) and she did, she found many things and found a way to reconnect with her ancestors and have everything explained to her and the fact that they chose her to possess this ( powerful ) magic that she has and has yet to master. and when she did, she vowed to be true to the principles of the og coven which was to respect the magic, use it for good, and never abuse it in any way, shape or from. therefore become the emerald mayhem of earth-1610 and using her magic to become a hero and help the city.

kemet: early 20s, chain smokes. lives in louisiana but his family originally comes from cleveland ohio. is in college majoring in culinary arts. has a shitty but high-key talented garage band he formed with his childhood best friends danny and babatunde (tune for short). tune plays drums, danny plays bass, kemet plays lead guitar. they all provide vocals. he has haitian and nigerian relatives. got a dry sense of humor and typically chill guy but has bouts of neuroticism and can go from 0 to 100 real quick but it takes a lot to get him there. parents are really into the pan african badu andre3000 black love and spiritualism thing but in a cool way not the hotep way. has one older sister and a gang of cousins.

lynn: short for lynette. early 20s. goth lesbian. kemet's og best friend. people always ask if they're dating because they hang out with each other so much. obv not the case cause, lesbian. and she sees him as a play cousin. doesn't smoke but always keeps a coffin shaped flask with pink whitney in it on her (attached to her belt). born and raised in the no but her accent is really subdued. big fan of 80s/90s industrial goth music and early 2000s alt metal. she's not super musically inclined but kemet got her into dj'ing briefly. in college for business because she wants to start her own alt magazine. lots of familial trauma + only child. dad's in jail, mom is on the run. has cousins aunts and uncles but never met them.

jaleena: early 20s, new to the friend group. shes the 'preppy' friend. in college to be a vet tech. could be classified as bubbly. gonna be honest she's the most lacking in lore lol.

OKAY SO. Attempt 2 at writing this ask. it starts when marcia and her mother get into a massive argument right outside the wizard tower. Bc the tower is open for visitors For Free, Right Now and marcia really really really wants to go. And her mother really does not want to take her. And there is yelling and waving of arms and marcias mother starts shit talking all wizards and says that if marcia decides that's what she wants to do then she won't be her daughter anymore. And marcia says well maybe that's a good thing!!!!! And immediately regrets it bc she Does love her mother very much. And I don't typically hc marcias mother as like. Particularly physically abusive but just this once she is very very angry and (shitty parent voice) sometimes u just need to hit a child >:( it's just like. Once or twice but yeah so she goes a little insane and there's a decent sized crowd now and she's yelling abt how all wizards r terrible and don't you dare even think abt being one if I ever see u use magyk again ill kick you out. And various ppl at this point have tried and failed to calm her down. And tiny marcia is like. On the floor crying. Surrounded by strangers who keep trying to hug her when she doesn't want them to. And they r right in front of the wizard tower still. And that is when the ExtraOrdinary Wizard shows up to go hey what the fuck is going on here. And he has a couple of ordinary wizards toss marcias mother in the nearest lock-up (those r a thing right?? Like the random tiny jails?? Dn1 looks like one from the outside I think) and sits down on the ground with marcia to wait until she's calmed down a bit and he puts his cloak on her bc she's shaking. And she actually calms down very quickly bc a) this is still marcia and she is well known to ignore her own issues when there's other stuff going on and b) the ExtraOrdinary Wizard!!! Holy shit :D!!!!!!! And anyway alther sees that she is very very excited to see him and (well aware she is Probably not going to ever see her mother again) decides to at least give her 1 good thing to remember abt today and brings her to the eow rooms for tea and biscuits :) and that's not where this ends but this is so so long already ajdufnifnffn I'll carry on in another ask later maybe once you've answered this.

Also relevant but not necessarily smth I was going to mention. I hc that the castle has REALLY strict laws surrounding child abuse. Unfortunately marcia has no friends and her teachers don't like her and she just wasn't there for any of the lessons on here's the things u should tell a teacher abt if they happen to u. So she just kind of got very unlucky and no one notices that her mother fucking sucks. AND ALSO I think it's illegal in the castle to try through any means to get a child to stop using magyk altogether. Bc especially in kids, it can lead to major magykal outbursts which r dangerous for the person and for everyone+everything around them. So even if marcias mother had not hit her she would still have been arrested bc of this

anyway the dynamic marcia and her mom have, the not-very-good but not obviously abusive dynamic, the interesting social dynamic of the castle, it’s so so cool (also reminds me a bit of my parents) i ALSO simply love alther meddling in his wonderful meddling way it’s very satisfying

Tbh I never thought abt the castle’s laws and stuff before you mentioned it but it makes SO much sense like their society is based on magic fundamentally so obviously they’d have to reflect that in the way their culture developed

When did they have their first kiss and under what circumstances? They had their first kiss in the beginning of the summer, before their road trip was supposed to happen. Juggie kissed Archie, and then they pretended it didn’t happen, and then everything went downhill :(

What was their first official date? To Pop’s (obviously), and then they had a movie night in the soundproofed garage. Archie also played some of his songs for Jug :’)

How do they feel about double dates/group dates? They go on group dates with BnV, but they also really like being on their own.

What do they do in their down time? They hang out at Pop’s a lot, and plan their roadtrip, to replace the one that didn’t get to happen. Video games happen a lot, too.

Well it was a little awkward, bc FP had no idea at all abt jug not being straight (meanwhile, Fred had known abt them for like a week before they actually told him hahaha). so FP gets a little mad at first, but accepts it by the end of the meeting. it helped that he knew fred and archie.

What was their first fight over and how did they get past it? their first fight as a couple is getting past secrets the two had kept from each other previously. they get through it by talking everything out.

Which one is more easily made jealous? Jug

What is their favourite thing to get to eat? Burgers (duh)

Who’s the cuddly one? What their favourite cuddling position? Jug is a cuddle Monster, and he loves snuggling into Archie’s chest

Are they hand holders? yes!!!!!

How long do they wait before sleeping together for the first time? What’s the circumstances? they sleep in the same bed together for the first time as a couple in senior year, when jug is staying at the andrews’ house for the night.

I think this is supposed to be fight… Anyway the worst fight was later in college, when jug got mad at archie for not living up to his potential. it escalated into some more personal problems and they didn’t speak to each other for a week. then they missed each other so they made up lol

Who is the best man/maid of honour? Any other groomsmen or bridesmaids? Betty is Archie’s maid of honour (I guess), and Veronica is Jug’s. Reggie, Kevin, Valerie, Josie, Dilton, and Cheryl all show up tho!

How many? at first jug is a little hesitant abt kids bc he doesn’t want to be a shitty dad like his dad, but archie coaxes him into adopting a baby girl, who they name Mary Forsythia (Forsythia is her middle name); first name for archie’s mom, middle name for Jelly Bean. JB is so excited and pleased, and loves Mary with her whole being. They later end up adopting an older kid (like age 7), and that’s it! :)
