#but i dont wanna mod cassandra's romance! i like the story arc i have in mind for cassandra x MY lavellan

oh boy for some reason, im in the middle of writing what supposed to be a  josie/valerie lavellan romance, and uh, i kinda decide to go galaxy brain, flip a bird at canon and go make my own valerie lavellan/cassandra romance and then make it end game for valerie. in this arc im gonna say fuck canon and does a medevial warrior butch x butch romance! Sure cassandra is no mage like Valerie’s deceased wife, in fact she’s sort of a templar, but she’s a warrior and thats good enough. No love interest in this game is perfect anyways, and valerie isn’t my canon inquisitor anyways im gonna go wild. Also like, valerie lavellan’s experience at the inquisition is just, in love on main with all the girls she met lmao so she still has a thing for josephine (i plan an arc for josie + valerie where josie helped finding out the truth behind lavellan’s clan’s massacre after she made the disastrous move to trust a supposedly friendly human noble, and their relationship more-or-less function as a way to help valerie to move on from her deceased wife--who kinda look like josie, but like, an elf). Valerie’d also has a thing with sera, but they obvs become more friends and i still want that arc where sera found out she’s connected to Anduril in the fic. 

At the same time, i do still wanna romance sera with a lavellan in the future and i want a lavellan x sera wedding so badly, but i’d just do it with a different lavellan. i always want to make a lavellan who DOESN’T have vallasin, which means she would be very young (just turn 20 in my version) and very suitable for sera, since sera is 19 and they would be literally in the same age group and that’s ideal! Im kinda into the idea of this vallasin-less lavellan (who is also, not a mage) being sent on this mission to “prove” herself that she’s a capable hunter. I always find it a bit hard to believe that the clan would send someone super important for a spying mission all the way across the sea and the mission isn’t even directly related to the clan. To me, It sounds like a sort-of dangerous mission but it isn’t that important to the clan. For Valerie Lavellan, she insisted on protecting her mage wife (aka First of the clan) at the conclave, and that’s why she went to the conclave. For Finley Lavellan, he just wanted to get away from the clan for a while because he and his best friend/soon-to-be-ex boyfriend’s relationship is deteriorating. For this vallasin-less lavellan, she would be at the conclave because she’s eager to prove herself. 

im gonna name this vallasin-less lavellan Aredhael, after another elf--Aredhel, may she be the gay elf girl Aredhel could not be (rip) This Aredhael would be a rogue, and she is expected to have excellent aim as she is trained as a hunter but she is shite at using a bow (lmao), which is why she still hasn’t receive her vallasin cause she still hasn’t proven herself a capable fighter/hunter and she doesn’t want to bond with any of the hunter dudes (she lesbian bro! both of my female lavellans are lesbians bro!), so she’s not getting married/bonded anytime soon and she couldn’t find a place at the clan as a hunter, and honestly it was a miserable time for her. The keeper is her mom (per usual) and she is very protective of her child, so Aredhael levallan is quite sheltered--kinda like, merrill, in a way. But Aredhael is eager to prove herself, and since this mission shouldn’t involve any fighting, she volunteered. The keeper, though worried, wants her child to be able to receive the vallasin already, and permits her to go with an older hunter dude to accompany her. However, when the conclave blew up (killing everyone in it but her, so that includes that random hunter dude), she ended up with two daggers and when she had to fight her way through in moments of panic, she found out she’s super good at getting close and personal to her enemy and stab ‘em where it hurts! i think i might spec her in way of assassin actually.  since this Aredhael is pretty sheltered and doesn’t really have opinions about different world views since she doesn’t many other world views other her clan’s, and she kinda has a complex relationship with her clan anyways (she doesn’t hate them--she loves them actually, but she doesn’t always find acceptance within her community, sadly), she wouldn’t be too put off by sera’s “fuck elfy elf” attitude. I think Aredhael got a sensitive but bubbly personality, and she’s sort of shy, so i think her personality matches with sera’s anyways.  i just, idk, really wanna explore the story potential of a young lavellan, leaving “home” aka her family and friends for the first time in her life to embrace a whole “new world” to prove to them that she’s a capable and that she has come of age, only to find herself in the centre of a much larger conflict. And when she does prove her own capability, when she has seen the world and learn to navigate it--with all its unfairness, treacheries and complexities, her friends/family isn’t there to see her accomplishments...and that she can’t really go home again. I think it’s...a neat version of “hero’s journey”.
