Theres smth about how Louis' whole narrative of Paris is in service of the climactic moment of Armand saving him at the trial, and the revelation that he didnt do that reveals that Louis' whole concept of who Armand is is on some level false, compared with the fact that when Armand starts telling Daniel about his history unprompted he chooses to introduce himself executing a vampire for violation of the great laws, and goes on to explain that the only person who had ever really loved him before Louis had abandoned him. Almost like maybe he thought Daniel would figure out what he did, and was trying to pre-emptively explain why he did it.
